As big fans of Tapas we decided to try Cubana's whislt visiting Sheffield for a weekend break. The restaurant is well set out if not a little to overcrowed with tables, certainly utilising maximum floor space which as understandable as that is from a business perspective it takes away from that personal space that diners/couples look for when dining out. The deor is warm and welcoming but could do with more overhead lighting as it was quite dark where we were seated. Myself and fiance' ordered 8 different Tapas dishes and a side of sourdough. The food was good, the dishes came out quick and hot and were tasty. Very little table room due to the overcrowded nature and amount of tables within the restaurant which was a little off putting. Our overall experience would have been rated marginally higher based on the food alone as it was above average, however as a dining experience as a whole it fell well short of what we would class as nice evning out. The whole experience was totally let down with the two young barmen situated about 10ft from where we were seated, who were constantly laughing very loudly, throwing things at each other from across the bar. Massively offputting for ourselves and the two diners next to us who also commented on the situation. To add to this already annoying distraction the background music was excessivley loud to the point we struggled to have a conversation. So 8 Tapas dishes, one cocktail and one glass of wine came to £77.86p, for what it is and the poor atmoshere along with mornic barstaff this is exspensive. We reglaury eat at Iberico in Nottingham and this would have been a bit cheaper, much better food and a much nicer atmosphere to dine in. This place has potential but the management/owner/owners really need to manage and control the imaturity in some of the staff members and make some alterations in what establishment they are trying to aim for... is it a restaurant where people can come and dine and enjoy there time or is it a nightclub that packs people in and serves food at the same time?

We came here for our girly night out and had the tapas as this was the set menu at Christmas. They brought the tapas out very quickly which meant there was not a lot of room on the table, but we managed. Our drinks order was taken when not everyone was sat down which meant we had to keep getting another waiters attention to take a drink order for all which wasn't ideal, it just came across like they were impatient. A waitress also started to remove our tapas dishes when they were not finished and only 1 hour into our 2 hour sitting, so we had to tell her that we don't want them taking yet. Again this just came across impatient and also a bit rude. The food was good though. When we had 45 minutes left we got told that they are going to need our table back which we understood, but we had a reservation for 2 hours and they were clearly trying to get rid of us early which I did not like. They brought our bill over at 7 and at 7:06 another waiter came and reminded us how they need our table and asked if we'd paid our bill, which we said we were awaiting a card machine. We eventually paid and they just seemed so eager to take our table and by 7:15 we left. I really did not like how they were so pushy to make us leave when we still had time available on our reservation, it's very rude. We then went downstairs for some drinks and a dance. I like the cocktail menu and the music is very Latin. Lots of people dancing. I definitely prefer downstairs to the restaurant.

One of my favourite places to eat. Been coming here for many years and the food is consistently good. Anyone we bring here as well loves it. My favourite dish is the goats cheese and mushroom tapas. Slight negative comment - we ordered sangria which said it was 1.25 litres, but the jug it came in said 1 litre. So we felt a bit cheated given the price of it!

I went here a while ago with my partner and we decided this place because of the dishes they had on their menu! I would suggest to look beforehand to see what you'd like! Some dishes are similar so see which version would be more your taste! Everything had a lot of flavour, which is always lovely! They treated us very nicely and the staff were very helpful! Definitely a recommend if you're fancying tapas! The restaurant is upstairs so don't panic if you don't see anyone downstairs when you first come into the door! (When we visited, we went upstairs to get seated and served).

The food is incredible! When I have friends visiting from out of town, I always take them here. It never disappoints. It can get a bit loud on Saturday evenings though, so avoid this time if you want a quiet chat with friends.

Cubana .. very lively tonight, well enjoyed the evening, entertainment was good (John Riley) tribute singer Elton john. Great food & atmosphere. Really exciting place to visit pop in to learn some good salsa dancing. Dance the night away 🎶 excellent experience Food was a 9 Dished mixed tapas, Enjoy 😘

From the experience last time, Paella is great, music too. But they are not open today because of the snow☹️really traveled a long way to get here. Hope they can publish something in advance, not just a piece of paper on the door. Advice: call before you come here especially during bad weather❗️

AVOID!!!! if you are planning a group booking or bottomless brunch AVOID!!! We came here yesterday as a group of 14 for Bottomless Brunch - all went well at first they were Friendly when I first went in to set some decorations but when the brunch started the problems began.. we all paid nearly £50 for a deluxe bottomless brunch, drink selection was disappointing & service was SLOW. People were thirsty & drinks definitely weren’t ‘bottomless’ we had one glass of nasty prosecco on arrival & a badly-tasting sangria.. 2 drinks each and then they stopped.. staff point blank refused to bring more unless glasses were all empty (most people didn’t drink the sangrias as they were not pleasant we highlighted this to the staff) Staff were aware of 3 latecomers in advance, food came out & latecomers arrived afterwards yet they refused to feed them.. why wouldn’t you keep back 3 dishes until they got there? They then had to pay for extra food despite already paying £150 between them for the brunch & not receiving anything. When complaints were raised, staff were ignorant and SO RUDE & started turning their backs, stood in groups around the table talking about us/pointing at us, the manager was HORRIBLE he made us feel so uncomfortable & refused us any more drinks after we raised our complaints. Anyone that complained for pointed at & staff told “that one is not having another” We felt so unwelcome so we left. WE PAID OVER £600 !!!! and for what? 2 drinks each, some tapas & bad customer care!! We are so so SO devastated, you’ve ruined my mums big day & we are so upset.

Absolutely loved it. First time I've been and the vibe was so good. Smiles everywhere! The staff were really nice too. Honestly, I can't wait til next time! Oh and the cocktails were b-e-a-u-tiful! 👍😋 😁

So this review is 5 stars because of one reason, Ethan and the incredible team behind the amazing rum selection they have. The food would probably land around a 7.6 out of 10, some dishes were great, others, well, not so much. I would suggest skipping the Albondigas and the Chorizo dishes, but definitely get the Risotto, which was fantastic, and the Gambas Tigres. Also don't feel bad about salting the food, all of our dishes seemed devoid of salt. I ended up trying 5 different rums in all, I can't handle more than that as I am a bit of a lightweight. Here is the list of what I tried: 66 rum sixty six 74 St Nicholas 15 70 foursquare spiced 49 berry bros & rudd Appleton Estate 1995 Velier 25 year Old Hearts Collection Every single one was absolutely phenomenal, and ending with a relatively rare taste of the Appleton was a super special treat that I would not have gotten to experience had it not been for Ethan. Ethan truly made the experience, luckily it was Sunday early evening so they were not busy and he could spend time going over the menu with me. I can be a bit overbearing as a customer when I am super excited about something like getting to try a bunch of amazing rum, but Ethan was more than happy to have someone to talk rum with, so it worked out for both of us. I would absolutely suggest to anyone even slightly interested in rum to make this place a destination asap, you will absolutely not regret it. Be sure to ask about bottles that aren't on the menu, they are always looking for good deals on rare stuff, so they may have some amazing things you don't know about.

Good atmosphere at this City Centre tapas bar. The food arrived very quickly which was ideal as we wanted something in a timely fashion before heading off to nearby City Hall for a comedy night. The tapas is to be recommended And we were a walk in so it may not always be necessary to book.

Great place, vaguely Spanish/Cuban style guitar playing interesting covers was really nice. Lots of really great food, staff were helpful, offering recommendations and the food was excellent. Especially enjoyed the Spanish omelette and the beans with egg on. They're was a good mix of veggie options, desserts and port were also tasty. Would definitely revisit, there is also a dance floor downstairs where people were practicing when we left. Overall a lovely evening. Not cheap, but worth the price.

Possibly the best tapas I’ve ever had. We went for the asparagus, croquettes, mushrooms and sweet potato dishes. All were excellent. The waiter was pretty friendly too. Don’t be put off that the place looks closed at lunchtime the restaurant is probably open upstairs.

The food here was absolutely delicious. Catered well for a vegan diet, with plenty of choice, as well as a huge menu for none vegans. The atmosphere was great, with a live singer starting just as we were finishing dinner. The only thing I would say was, when we first arrived, we were left waiting near the door for a good 10 minutes. I had pre booked a table, and there was plenty of staff around, but no one came over to us for a while. But it was quite a minor thing. Would recommend!

I had a date night here and it was perfect. The service was outstanding and super helpful. The food was delicious and came out quite quickly. The setting was really relaxed and fit the style of the name. Super impressed and we had a brilliant time

The food was divine!! We ordered our own selection of tapas, a mixture of hot and cold all were delicious. The cocktails were good, one of the best espresso martinis I've tasted. Service was great, very friendly and efficient at the same time. Only drawback was the music was a little loud for a lunchtime.

Went with the hubbie for a good child-free meal. The food was really tasty and a good variety. IPA on tap ran out whilst we were there but the manager took the time to apologise personally, which was a nice touch. Staff are very friendly and efficient, cannot fault the service at all. There was also a gentleman playing the keyboard and singing live - he was amazing and it the sound level and song choice was pitched perfectly to create a good atmosphere without being intrusive - thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thank you.

I think i spent about 30 minutes telling my friends this was the best tapas i had ever had! Oh my god the food was incredible. Amazing food, great cocktails, lovely lovely staff. Would definitely recommend! Edit: 4 years later and I'm still.coming here! Food is so good. 100% recommend (2023).xxx

The staff here are pretty on point and attentive. Their knowledge of rum and selection is one of the best I've seen. Food really wasn't ace and it's pretty expensive to not be that ace. Appreciate that it's a big menu and there might be good stuff on it but didn't get that this visit. The atmosphere is a bit weird too. Maybe more of a nighttime place than a sit outside place.

I organised my work Christmas lunch and several people suggested Cubana, and I'm so pleased they did. Would recommend to anyone organising a large group event - as Marta and the team were very easy to communicate with, and there were lots of options for all dietary requirements. We had a brilliant time, enjoyed the food which was tasty and generous portions, and as we were able To order drinks directly from the bar, it meant splitting the bill at the end was easy & pain free. The restaurant was buzzy but not too loud, and the service was excellent making for a great atmosphere. All my party really enjoyed their time- and as a large group of 30 , it's not always easy to please everyone so I would definitely come back again.

Another fabulous night at Cubanas! Great service, delicious food and drinks!! Never had a bad experience here! Live music added to the already great atmosphere!! Perfect place for any celebration or simply because you fancy some delicious tapas!!!

Great food. Nice people. Good atmosphere. And value for money - especially if you catch the Happy Hour which is ideal for a pre-theatre early dinner.

It's a great place to dance, listen to live music & grab a bite to eat. The bar staff are always lovely. There are lots of different events every week, plus regular dance classes.

Don’t be put off by the chain restaurant decor - this place is absolutely brilliant. The food is very good and the portions are generous for a British tapas restaurant. But the best thing is the wonderful atmosphere…a place where the staff are clearly very happy, smiley and enjoying working there. This is so rare nowadays, and is a much underrated characteristic in enjoying dining…maybe it’s because they’re not working for accountants running a chain diner by numbers. Will be back soon. Food was amazing some of the best tapas I’ve tried in a long time, prawns and chorizo especially. Bartenders were incredible and knowledgeable, especially Aran. Only let down was the service, blond waitress was rude and incompetent. She didn’t seem interested in customer service, asked what food we wanted before we’d even picked up the menu and left us sitting after dinner without drinks. When I finally got her to order more she told us she needed the table back which was disappointing. Food made up for it tho and other waitress seemed lovely so will be back :)

We went for Saturday afternoon tapas.. delicious! Loads of food and a great choice! And the customer service? Immaculate! We have been served by Laura! Big smile and a bigger heart! Good place for a lively evening!!! Loud, buzzy and fun. If you are in a group you will love it....if you are a couple looking for a romantic evening, give this place a swerve! We were a loud group out celebrating a birthday and were seated next to a couple who were not happy with our table being so close to theirs. We did ask the staff if we could move to give them some peace but there was not a big enough table available. The set menu is a safe bet if you're not used to tapas/cuban food. The drinks are very expensive but strong. Staff friendly but rushed off their feet which ment a long delay for drinks. Think we would go back and try the proper tapas menu. But if you're looking for a fun and fizzy evening then this is the place!!

Great atmosphere! Set menus are delicious- huge portions and excellent value for money! Something a bit different, sometimes there has been live music and the cocktails are great. Really friendly staff and manage the place well even in busy periods. Fantastic restaurant!

I love this place and was really happy to bring a friend and colleague from down South. He was impressed by the atmosphere, and live music, and being able to share our own private mini buffet (Tapas) was a really nice social way to share a meal too. The drinks here are amazing, beautiful rum cocktails. The fact that the owner is Cuban and passionate about the fare really shows... I've never been to Cuba, but I reckon this place is pretty authentic. Even if it isn't, it's way above any chain restaurant I've ever been too.

We have visited this place many a time, we have always had a good meal. From personal experience, I would order the tapas individually as they tend to be tastier in comparison to the Set Menu Tapas. Also love it when they have live music on. Such a great atmosphere!

Great place , great atmosphere

First time ever, went on a Thursday: All the staff were really friendly, Ruben was particularly fun and helpful all night. The atmosphere was amazing and we loved the live singing too. Also the food was amazing. Too much to talk about, but all of it was great.

Went for dinner for my boyfriends birthday last night, we had the seafood Chorizo paella which was lovely, the staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommend.

Good for a vegetarian, lots of choice. Food was very tasty. Service was good. Fans worked well keeping us cool on a scorching day. Downside was very loud music, it was a family meal at four in the afternoon on a Saturday, was hard to talk.
