We came here on our wedding night, exhausted only to find a ton of ants in our room and a welcome letter written out to someone else since clearly they didn't look to check our names :(. We walked back down to the reception to ask to be moved to another room the front desk rep apologized and assured us someone would be I would be touch with us to make it up for us for the ants and moving rooms at 3am when all we wanted to do is go to bed.. Haven't heard from anyone the next day... At the breakfast , after waiting in line to be seated, they took us to be seated and while we were filling our plates seated someone else so we had to stand around waiting with our plates waiting for them to clear another table. Checkout was also a whole other experience with a line that took 40 minutes. Overall nice hotel, horrible service that doesn't even come close to justifying the price we paid. I would say the hotel might be rated at 5 stars but our experience was very sub-par.

Room was nice Staff on arrival unfriendly and full of anxiety - made to feel Iā€™ll at ease. Pool ridiculously overcrowded And breakfast was nice food but the most unrelated environment I have ever seen with lots of supervisors running in circles

The hotel is very luxurious, it has all a one needs for a vacation, the indoor pool was great, the room has everything in place and the morning breakfast was just perfect The staff are very nice and the service is great One thing that was not the best are the small details, when we came the room garbage can was with stuff in it and that takes off the sign of a high end hotel In conclusion the hotel is one of the best in Israel for a good decent price but yet it has it own stuff to fix and become even better

Brand new hotel. Looks great. Rooms are well maintained. Generous and very tasty breakfast but the restaurant service was kind yet unprofessional. The biggest downfall was the spa and safety. The floor is always wet and slippery. My mother had slipped and injured her back when she fell. I doubt that it's the first nor the last time this will happen. Unfortunately.

The hotel feels really premium, the rooms are large and comfortable, the beds are simply perfect. We had breakfast at the hotel, and it was simply amazing, one of the best Iā€™ve ever had. They have two pools, one inside and one outside, both look pretty, but when we were there the water was very cold in both pools, and they have no hot pools or something like that. Also, the parking at the hotel is not included in the price, which was a bit unexpected when taking the price we paid into account. The parking at the hotel costs around 60ā‚Ŗ a day, and resets every time you take the car out, which can turn out to be pretty expensive.

This is undoubtedly a very luxurious hotel, however none of that matters with the absolutely terrible sound proofing of the rooms, both from outside (music blaring at The First Station food court / concert venue across the road till at least 11pm) and also very very poor acoustics from hallway noise. Whatever you do, do NOT get a room that faces The First Station. Based on this alone could not recommend this hotel to friends and family, and would not stay here again. Shame because otherwise it most definitely checks all the luxury hotel boxes (great roof-top pool, and impressive restaurant on the -2 floor although Iā€™d categorise staff there as friendly but need better training).

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Orient Hotel in Jerusalem in April to celebrate her birthday. We were very impressed with the architecture of the hotel and the design of the rooms. But unfortunately here ends the compliments we have about the hotel, because the service we received from the hotel staff was poor. Some examples: 1. We had two separate reservations, one for the night between Thursday and Friday and one for the night between Friday and Saturday. It was the first time we have ever asked to switch rooms during our vacation at the hotel, and not just combine our two reservations and allow us to stay in the same room from Thursday to Saturday .Only after an hour of conversation with the staff in the lobby, they agreed to let us stay in the same room, but the initial experience at the hotel was unpleasant and exhausting. 2. For the second day of our vacation we booked a treatment at the hotel's spa. I paid for it before we arrived at the hotel. At the end of the treatment, the secretary of the spa approached us and asked to pay for the treatment. When I told her that I have already paid for it, she said it doesnā€™t appear in her system. I asked her if we can take care of it when we leave the hotel in the checkout, but she said it must be treated now. So it turned out that me and my girlfriend had to wait outside the spa for almost an hour in the middle of our vacation, until the secretary checked if we had already paid. Of course in the end, she told us they had an error in the system and indeed we had already paid. 3. A wine that was not brought to our room even though we were told several times in the lobby that we would receive, and there are more examples. My recommendation is that you think twice before making a reservation for the Orient hotel in Jerusalem. It is one of the most expensive hotels in Israel and the service you will receive will be from one of the poorest hotels in Israel.

I am having drinks with family at the hotel coffee shop. It has a beautiful bourgeois atmosphere, and the little touches of class that I love. Not because I like fancy things but because it shows that someone put the thought into the level of hospitality they were looking for. Tea served with a teapot, honey brought in a little personal pot, a small chocolate on the side, the cocktail had cinnamon on one side of the glass just for the olfactory additionā€¦ I prefer simple in my day to day, but if you are gonna do it, then do it right. Well done Orient!

Great hotel. The service super. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped and decorated. The spa is perfect, and the store in the spa level is highly recommended. especially the jewellery of "Niv design." I'll definitely return.

The Orient provided us with an absolutely fantastic experience during our stay in Jerusalem. The staff are the first thing worth mentioning. They were kind, attentive, patient, and professional. We would return if just to work with them again. The location is really nice. First Station is right there and you can get to the old City in a short 10 minute walk. The German Colony was just down the street in the opposite direction and we had a great dinner there. It also had markets and some cute stores. The breakfast buffet was the shining star. It was incredible. Fresh, beautiful, great tasting, and so many options it was hard not to eat too much! The views from the rooftop were so beautiful and the pool and bar upstairs was a real treat. The rooms were very modern and clean. We didnā€™t want to leave. We. Will. Be. Back.

Unique buildings, based on old Templar school houses, but expanded and renovated to the highest standards. Excellent service and outstanding food in the three on-site eateries. The trump card is the rooftop infinity pool, from where you can see all Jerusalem 360 degrees around: the Old City walls, David's Tower, Augusta Victoria and other churches.

Went for the Buffet Breakfast. Tried to find the best buffet in Jerusalem. I thought this hotel was supposed to be on par with bereeshit, the inbal, or the satai. For the positives the staff was polite and attentive and there was a quite a large variety of food. The food for the most part was decent. Definitely nothing special. I didn't come to the Orient for basic food. I was expecting a hotel like the Orient to go a bit above. This would have been a good breakfast for a 4 star hotel. I was expecting some fish carpaccio like Palominos Friday buffet breakfasts or cured salmon like Piccolino used to do. They didn't have anything out of the ordinary, and nothing tasted better than just fine. The salad station was very disappointing, probably the worst salad station I've seen. There were no pre-made salads and there were barely any vegetables to choose from. Still I would rate this buffet as a 3 stars up until now. So my wife and I ordered 2 eggs Benedict, 1 with the sauce on the side. After about half an hour we realised it wasn't coming so we asked again. This time it came fast. Except they only gave us 1. They did put the sauce on the side... Technically. They literally just dumped it directly on the plate on the side of the egg. I've never had that done before. Usually you put a sauce in a little ceramic dish on the side. But whatever. It was such a small dish, 1 egg, with a piece of toast so small you could barely see it. Still not where the 2 stars come in. The poached egg was hands down the worst poached egg I have ever seen. There was no white on the egg at all, it was sitting in a pool next to the hollandaise sauce in complete liquid form. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, poached eggs are not easy to make, but no one would have or should have served this even in the cheapest of places, let alone a 5 star hotel. An attentive waiter saw my displeasure and asked me how I would like my egg or if he can get me something else. He said this is how they make their eggs (no they don't, no one makes an egg like this), but he can make a new one how I like. So I said, I would love for the white to be in solid form (which is absolutely ridiculous that I needed to state this at all). So he made a new one. With no sauce at all this time. Not a great egg the second time either. But it did look like a poached egg this time so points for that. I would never go back.

Stayed here for our anniversary. We were upgraded to a beautiful room in the old renovated building. We loved the indoor pool and turkish hamam. Breakfadt was great with great varaiety and especially the fresh pasyries baked in place. Service was ok, could be improved. We loved walking in the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods.

It is a beautiful property but the service for the level of hotel and cost was lackluster. Too many inconveniences and poor performance. Getting coffee during breakfast service was almost impossible. The valet would not come out to get your vehicle you basically had to track them down over and over again. Issues with paying for hotel services thru the hotel had to pay with credit card vs. Put it on the room. Lots of disconnect and it's not a cheap hotel so not happy. In addition I spoke with there manager and they act like they care but did not actually do anything. Poor service and they don't care about the customer.

Not only is the Orient Isrotel one of the best hotels in Jerusalem, The Orient's elegant Smadar restaurant offers an opulent dairy breakfast menu. Uniquely themed according to Jerusalem's diverse neighborhoods. We found the daily breakfast buffet to have the most incredible selection of high quality items to start the day.

I stayed here one night as part of an office trip. Quality rooms - kept warm and cozy in the winter. Even the bathroom floor is warm. The shower is fantastic and the towels fluffy and soft. The hotel is kept neat and spotless. Not a shred of paper or a particle of dust in sight. The service is excellent - courteous and helpful. The service staff was all over the place and was only glad to help. The only disappointment was the breakfast - not only did the chef had a hard time with the vegan concept, but the food was generally standard. Nothing new or exciting. A wonderful experience.

Went to the Friday buffet after making reservations. They said at the door that they don't take reservations for the Friday buffet (so clearly there is some issue of syncing across departments) but let us in anyway. It was pretty good, but not amazing compared to some other hotels we've tried. Still worth trying once!

Beautiful hotel. Come to Jerusalem a few times a year and always try to stay here. Best thing about Orient is the customer service. Shout out to Basel and the whole breakfast staff who are kind, helpful, and always excited to see me.

Best breakfast in Israel! Artisan coffee, delicious food and best service! Alian and Carmen in the breakfast were so nice and welcoming to us. We had an incredible experience at the hotel overall, and loved the pool and gym!

We have visited Israel many times and wanted a change. This hotel was an excellent choice. We are really glad we picked here to stay. Our rooms were ready early and we were treated exceptionally well. We had a slight temporary problem with one of our rooms and Tareq at the reception desk took very good care of us and made sure the issue was resolved quickly. Very accomodating. The breakfast was by far the best from all the hotels we have been at. The rooftop pool is very special with spectacular views of Jerusalem. The German quarter was an added benefit to our stay. Great atmosphere. Definitely stay here. I know we plan on returning soon.

This hotel is brand new and has a very nice aesthetic but the service here is more keen to show they are right then to treat their high paying customers well. Everything is rushed and seems to close far too early. Whether it be breakfast or lunch, you're always being chased away in a way that feels like the workers just want to get off earlier. The rooftop pool closes at 7pm and even before sunset in the summer. There is very limited space there and if you'd like to spend some time with friends or family they forbid you from spending quality time with your love ones. If anyone wants to actually relax with friends and family I recommend the inbal or king David instead.

Great location between the German colony and the first train station. It is a luxury hotel with a beautiful spa. The spa treatments are very professional (additional price). The spa contains an indoor pool, dry sauna, Turkish hamam and a gym. There's also an open pool on the roof for guests of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and service exceptional. It is possible visit for fun day at the spa without staying at the hotel. The price includes a massage and a meal.

Me my wife and our baby Had an amazing trip thanks to the hotel staff and amenities! We had lots of fun ! The staff was great! The receptionist was amazing! The concierge gave us amazing recommendations! The indoor pool was beautiful (we had to Be there because our 5 months old and the summer heat) And last the gorgeous view!

High luxury in a great location. The roof top pool is relaxing, chic and has the best views. I didnā€™t have time for the spa but I heard great reviews from colleagues. The expansive, high-quality breakfast buffet is outstanding. The bathrooms are luxurious with quality products.

  • 1/5 Chaya B. 9 months ago on Google
I rarely leave reviews, particularly not negative ones but our experience at the Orient warrants it. The roof top pool area is lovely but we couldnā€™t get a sun-chair in the afternoon/evening. Morning was much quieter with plenty of space. The pool closed very early (7pm even in the summer time) which was disappointing given it was a main feature of the hotel and the sun was still out. We were prevented from even watching the sunset from the rooftop as the pool was closed. There were also many large magpies that came very close to people around the pool in the evening making it less relaxing. The welcome gift on arrival was extremely underwhelming - a bottle of water. The bath didnā€™t seal properly and released water, so needed constant top ups. At night there was some noise from street traffic in the room. Despite all this we would not have left a negative review had we not had a terrible customer service experience right before we checked out. Staff and management showed no degree of flexibility or warmth. At all the hotels I have stayed in this is the worst and most disappointing customer service I have experienced. This has ensured we will not stay at the Orient again and would like to make others aware as well. I recommend looking at other options if staying in the area. We previously spent time at King David Hotel, where the customer service was exceptional.

First, the good. The Orient Jerusalem is a beautiful hotel. Our rooms were large and modern with nice amenities such as an individual loofa sponge for the shower and tub. Housekeeping was a constant presence. They must track guests' comings and goings because they changed our towels, refreshed our soaps, made the beds, etc. every time we stepped out. The rooftop pool has stunning views of Jerusalem while the indoor pool is excellent for swimming laps. The hotel's location is perfect - right at start of Emek Refaim and walking distance to many sites. The hotel would easily get five stars if it weren't for the disappointing service. Reception was efficient, but hardly warm and welcoming. The concierge was not helpful at all. Same for the pool staff. While no one was unpleasant, the staff (with the exception of housekeeping) didn't give the impression that they were happy to have you or any other guest at the hotel. One other detracting factor: the lobby has a strong smell that I suspect is supposed to be nice, but is actually quite awful. Overall, a mixed review.

Returned just yesterday from Jerusalem. What a wonderful hotel!! The staff could not have been more accommodating; they even put up with my hebrew which says a lot. Great room, delicious breakfast with lots of variety, great massage, the dining room staff was very willing to change our table configuration multiple times as more and more folks joined us. One small criticism: they need to have more agents at the reception during busy hours. We will be back!!

The Orient Hotel in Jerusalem offers an exceptional experience. The impeccable service, particularly from the reception staff, sets a high standard. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, ensuring a relaxing stay. The hotel's perfect ambiance, with its charming vibes, creates a memorable atmosphere. Overall, the Orient Hotel provides an outstanding stay with wonderful service, cozy rooms, and a delightful atmosphere.

Amazing hotel, good location, friendly staff. Rooms were large and very comfortable. Roof top hotel was amazing, although at time there was a lot of kids up there. Gym is good for cardio, and they have some machines, dumbbells only go up to 20kg, but plenty of cardio equipment.

i stayed a few nights at the Orient and enjoyed it very much. It is a rather new hotel and you can tell. The decor is stunning, from the lobby and dining areas to the rooms and the spa and pools. Service is very good - and the food is very good as well. I had a massage in the spa which was a great experience as well. All in all, a great place to stay while visiting Jerusalem. I highly recommend this place and would stay there again.

Great and well situated hotel, in the heart of the German colony. Room was spacious enough while the shower can be opened to it using a big window, which was very nice indeed. Breakfast/dinner were both excellent with a wide variety of different dishes. Service was mostly very good though can be improved a bit. (Nitpicking I know). Spa, swimming pool and a hairdresser are somw of the amenities. Location is amazing, close to a lot of places and things to see and if you're an experienced walker, then 15 min will take you to town. Buses are also nearby which makes it very easy. Street itself is filled with caffes and little nice places. A great experience overall. Highly Recommended!

Nice modern and renewed boutique hotel. Great dining room. The pool on the roof has a great view, but usually too crowded. VIP lounge had move view as well, but it is closed too early - locked after 9pm. Near hotel there is an old train station with pubs and restaurants. Open on Saturdays.

We were only 1 night, definitely not sufficient for this Hotel, we will come back in future. The Hotel is just amazing, used the SPA, was great, and internal pool + sauna. The room was really comfort, big, very nice designed, window to the bath, we had both shower and bath, some semi-smart lighting. Small salon. Recommended!

I cannot understand why people would describe this hotel as sophisticated. The staff appears untrained in guest service. I initially came for the spa offerings. Online, it was unclear how to contact the spa or what the prices were. When I arrived in person to inquire, I found an ineffective mess of an iPad and a side brochure with descriptions (which I only received after I requested something on a piece of paper to look at). I had to navigate between them and the notes on my phone just to figure out what was being offered. It took 30 minutes, after which I was sure I would be rewarded with a luxurious experience. I wasn't even given a glass of water when I asked. When we got to the room, the masseur did not know what I ordered and was completely unprepared, and sadly, what was delivered was not even remotely professional - it was less than something I would have done myself at home. Afterwards, I went to get a cold drink from the bar, where seven employees hung out at the bar and no one even looked up to ask me if I needed assistance. I wanted to sit outside, and when I open the door, I saw that the outdoor sitting area was covered with bird poop, and there was nowhere clean to sit. Someone designed the place to be pretty and luxurious, and it's visually fine, but nothing more than that, especially when there's no service to go along with it.

THE ORIENT HOTEL RESTAURANT FOOD AND SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING!!!!!! The Hotel food and staff service at the Orient Hotel in Jerusalem is the best in the world. For 10 days, the banquet style setup was awesome. I have never stayed in a hotel where the food and customer service should be rated 100% best in class. Each morning at 6:00 am, breakfast was ready to be served, they had over 50 food selections, fish, salads, assortments of all kinds of bread, boiled and fried eggs, fruits and vegetables, all kinds of juices, desserts, cheesecake, omelets, pancakes, baked sweet potatoes, baked zucchini. The amount and list of food is too many to name. At 6:00 pm, after been out all-day touring Jerusalem with 600 Americans, when you arrive back to the hotel, dinner was setup for a King and Queen. Each day, you could eat something different, if you are vegan, vegetarian, on a Danielā€™s fast, they had gluten free food, I ate baked and boiled fish for breakfast and dinner and I loved it. The restaurant employees are the best. Your coffee or water cup did not go empty, they paid close attention to you and they stood ready to serve you immediately. The restaurant employees are sweet, kind and friendly. The managers were dressed in dark blue suits. They represented the hotel and restaurant well. It was obvious, the managers have a great working relationship with the employee staff. Hello sweet Karen, restaurant waitress and to the other employees I meet and gave thank you cards too. Thanks for making our visit incredible. Thanks Alian Slaimch, Orient Hotel Restaurant Manager, you are the best and you are doing a great job!! Keep up the great work. Alian, please tell the other manager I meet thanks, I am so sorry I forget his name. Audrey from Dallas, Texas

Isrotel never disappoint! Like all their other hotels this one is with all the high standards! The swimming pools are great, the sauna ans the hamam are great! The rooms are big and comfy, the bed was good (the pillows were less comfortable for me but that is something personal). We did not have breakfast but keep in mind that in shabbat they dont cook so there are no omelletes (and hot foodsā€¦) Their bar and cocktails were amazing! :) they have a 1+1 btw 17-19:00 (שווה) ;)

First impression: classic Jerusalem stone with oriental and modern accents make for a welcoming and appealing entrance. Friendly and efficient front desk staff and up to the room. Pleasantly surprised by the warm, wood paneled interior. A bath and separate shower in a very elegant washroom. Haven't tried the spa, gym and rooftop pool. Will definitely return in the summer.

We stayed there at the end of August with our 2 kids. We had the family suite and it was very spacious and clean. The infinity pool on the roof is amazing with an impressive view of the area. The Kid playzone was hard to find and also was not maintained as expected (some PS4 were not working properly).

I donā€™t know what to expect from a hotel where the front staff is untrained and just mean. Save yourself and go to kind David or Waldorf. I complain to the public relations they useless and speak a broken English there was one helpful bold guy in the lobby that gave water to pregnant lady and a place to seat to an old lady. He was the only one polite enough to look at the computer before answer me that no room available for check in ( it was after 12) If Your already book donā€™t even try arriving before 3, the lobby will be crowded of people waiting for there room and the pool has no space to seat. for 700 usd a night my room was cleaned but only the day of arrival for a 3 day stay !!!!! not well maintained ( fridge was noisy) and very small. Finally donā€™t even try the massage they are terrible.

Beautiful fabulous hotel, great vibe, great location, great lobby. Unfortunately the pool on the roof closes early, 6 PM so no access at night to sit outside and relax. The hotel is located in the German colony, which if you donā€™t know, is like the west village in NYC. FANTASTIC LOCATION. Great local cafes.

A very solid 5 star hotel with a great soft and superb hard products. From checkin to checkout we had a very comfortable and relaxing stay enjoying all the facilities the hotel had to offer; their indoor pool and sauna were great places to chill after a long day out on foot, the business lounge accessible through Suite room bookings on the 8th floor was a surprise at what was on offer, the staff at the front desk were always available for any requests we had and the gym was functional. The breakfast buffet was absolutely superlative with every wish met from smoothies to pancakes to vegan and local delicacies. Our suite 344 was outside the main hotel building and had the most comfortable bed with luxurious linens; cleaning was impeccable and the mini bar was sufficient. The hotel was easily accessible by taxi/Uber from TLV airport with a speedy 1 hour drive. They require a 500 NIS deposit per night and a welcome drink was offered. The location was an easy 30 minute walk to all main tourist spots and a bus stop was just outside the front door. Room service was standard and prompt. The hotel has really invested in all the right areas to make everyone feel welcome. Highly recommended and would return.

STAY AWAY! It's very unfortunate that you can't feel safe with your belongings at a beautiful hotel in such a beautiful city. The housekeeping steals your belongings. That's all I have to say. I forgot a very sentimental and expensive necklace in a very specific spot that I placed it, saw it when running out and forgot to grab it, and when I called 30 min later it mysteriously was not there. I received the run around all day, nobody was helpful, it is such a disappointment. The staff could care less you stayed at the hotel or were a guest. From the girls on their phone or talking to each other at the front desk, the security office I had multiple calls with and did nothing or could care less, or the email website contact I wrote multiple times for them to stop responding. Stay at any of the other high end hotels before this one. Itā€™s a beautiful hotel but donā€™t be fooled, the staff will steal your belongings. I even have proof and they just wonā€™t respond anymore. Itā€™s very sad.
