I enjoyed Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner here. A range of different types of fruits, different types of bread and pasteries and food. The rooms are nice with enough space. In addition, you can find swimming pool and fitness club. You can pay cash or use your you visa or credit cards to clear tour bills. In addition, you can have alcoholic drinks deom beers to liquors. When you are in a team and if you wish, you can enjoy cocktail. The environment is enjoyable

Good pool, lovely staff and a great place for a relaxing pool day! Food and drinks are a bit pricey but generally the people who come here can afford it.

Nice place, the food is good and accomodation is good too, but in the rooms on the side of the main road you can hear the noise of cars during the night.

We had a pleasant stay here at Umubano. Although the style is old and takes you back to the 70's (inside the rooms)we found it clean and enough space to walk around in the room. The breakfasts in the morning are very good, with a wide selection of foods, pastries and fruits. The gym area is kept clean and machines work well. There is also a sauna that can be used. Things that we feel need improvement : 1) a sitting area on the patio would be awesome. 2) more plug points in the room. We ended up having to unplug most of the lights and aircon to charge our devices. 3) a coffee and tea station in the room would be nice, to enjoy on the patio of course. 4)an extraction fan in the bathroom would be nice, gets stuffy and smelly. 5) for some reason we had a conference room next to our room (level 4) and we found people to be very loud in the morning while we were trying to sleep, we can't understand why there would be a conference room amongst hotel bedrooms.

Good lunch Buffet, don't count on therefore Breakfast. It's the word of kind! They are undergoing renovation so hopefully they will change the chef as well.

This is one of those hotels that has been around forever in Kigali, and it shows. It's pretty run down, but has an air of authenticity that some of the shiny new places lack. Paint is visibly peeling off the back walls of the hotel, when you look up from the pool it's easy to spot. Maybe as a result of this, it's a better bargain than some of the other places to swim and play tennis around Kigali. I think it was 200k FRW for a year-long family membership, although that was in 2015 so it may have gone up. Tennis courts are 5000 FRW each time, but you can play unlimited for free if you get a membership. Also getting a membership allows you to sign up for a court in advance, which is really useful during popular times, like 5pm on weekdays and weekend mornings, when all the courts get taken. They don't have free WiFi, you have to pay 1500 for an hour. Food is overpriced for what you get, it's nothing special but they'll still charge you 1500 for a coke and 6000 for french fries. Lots of families on the weekends frolicking by the pool, I'd say about 2/3 expats and 1/3 Rwandans.

The hotel's garden is really nice, there is a swimming pool and the staff is nice. Sadly, the building is very aged though, the WiFi isn't working well. Some improvements would be good.

Marasa Umubano Hotel is a very lovely hotel to lodge. The environment is cool, with a nice pool and gym. They have a very nice bake-shop. Their cookies and cake is dope.

Awesome! Garden, pull could do with a bit more cleaning, charging for Wi-Fi old school. Nice buffet selection. On the plus they are renovating the place so hopefully great improvement.

I have never stayed at the Marasa Umubano but I use their gym and have had a couple of meals there. The one thing that strikes me is the offering from their bakery that is oh so temptingly situated on my way to and from the gym! The strawberry tart is my absolute fave and I have served it as dessert with great success to many of my dinner guests. The hotel itself is under renovation so the exterior isn't that inviting, but the staff in the areas that I have visited are always polite and helpful...

I love staying at the Umubano. It is certainly a bit dated, in terms of, say, paint and carpet. And they do not have screens on the balcony doors (I think every room has a balcony, which is nice), however, each room is equipped with a mosquito net. Overall, it is quite comfortable. Umubano has a lot of nice amenities. Their breakfast is extensive and delicious. The grounds are a nice size; I like just walking around. There are multiple seating options. (Various gazebos, at tables in the restaurant, or inside). The pool is nice, and there are tennis and basketball courts, a ping-pong table, and even mini golf (though it is unclear if the latter is still functioning or if the hotel has clubs/balls to make it work). I see a variety of people taking advantage of the amenities, including music/aerobics classes at the gym. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can pay a membership fee. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There are conference rooms to use for meetings. Bakery is fabulous. Restaurant is nice, and mid-range prices, though unfortunately not many options for vegetarians. I recommend the Umubano. It’s a good place to stay, and in a pretty nice location too, with many other restaurants, shops, etc, within walking distance as well.
