This is my favorite resort. It is a great example of a well-functioning Marriott property. The staff is superior and the grounds are lush with plants and birds adding to the fantastic ambiance. We returned to this resort for a special post retirement celebration and are very happy that we did. Being the ages we are now we did notice the lack of handrails, the steep ramps, and the large stepdowns into pools and other amenities. Some upgrades might make this resort a special place for us into the future. We like the location on Samui and found that it provided the perfect place to rest and enjoy our first few weeks of retirement. Thanks to everyone involved who provided us with such a special time.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful resort! We came in late September 2022 and enjoyed our stay a lot, which was basically perfect in every way. We rented a scooter one day to explore the island but in the end we stayed at the resort because it was just the nicest and most relaxing place on the island for us. Very good Thai food, amazing breakfast, excellent service and hospitality and a beautiful little beach with trees giving shade and a very nice pool right next to it made our stay really great. We had a pool villa inside the resort and enjoyed it a lot. The service was really perfect, we were taken care of in an exceptional way. I would totally come back here to this little paradise for recharging my batteries!

I’ve been meaning to leave a review for this incredible resort for the longest time, but wanted to make sure I did it full justice! Renaissance Koh Samui made our honeymoon the most special it could’ve possibly been 💕 We visited a few hotels over the course of our trip, and this was by far the best one!!! We were so blown away by the incredibly attentive and caring customer service more than anything (the cherry on top was that it was a also pristine resort in paradise too.) Thank you so much to everyone who made our honeymoon so very special! From the bar staff, who gave us beautiful leaving treats + our own personalized drinks (incredible bartenders) and photos, to the operations manager, who gave us a gorgeous upgraded villa, to the Banana Tree restaurant wait staff and chefs, who went out of their way to teach me how to make Thai tea (also, on that note, the food here was incredible/some of the best of our trip)! Thank you, thank you thank you❤️❤️❤️ We had such an gorgeous stay that we will never forget for the rest of our lives! One of the best resorts (in customer service, especially) that we’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing! We will absolutely be back / will recommend you to our friends in the meantime ❤️ thank you so much again, Renaissance Koh Samui team!

Best location and staff(warm and friendly). Best for my kids for sand activity on beach, very shallow and long shore - worry free for them to kayak alone. Massage was a wonderful exp. If I'm going to go to Samui again, yes, the third time would still be Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa

We just returned and are still impressed by the hotel, but mostly by the staff. My wife and I stayed at the Renaissance Samui for a night to celebrate our anniversary. Even during the preparation process, I felt the participation of every hotel employee; all my preferences were fulfilled. I had the feeling that friends I had known for a long time were helping me. Thank you very much for upgrading our room, it was a good gift for us. Everything in the room was beautifully decorated, and it seemed like we were the most important guests in the hotel. A very nice guy showed us good documentation and took photographs, we were satisfied! It was very nice to receive a card from the staff with the wishes from the hotel’s employees. We ordered a private dinner on the shore, and three locations were immediately arranged for us in case of bad weather. The service was very good, at breakfast they gave us our photo from dinner and it was very nice! In the morning we were allowed to check out later, that was very good for us! If you really want the best service, high-quality and delicious food, then definitely the Renaissance Hotel!!!!

A wonderful stay at renaissance koh samui. I love resort with a lush forest garden because this sets you in a relax mood which completely different from the city buildings brought. Renaissance is definitely the one, with well kept gardens and red brick roads leading to the main pool and quiet beach, walking along the trials inside the resort, breath the fresh air generated by the lush garden, what a tranquil atmosphere especially in this off peak season with few guests. The only down point is the room equipment, although the room is tidy and clean, but the furniture is very outdated and needs immediately upgrade, if you are looking for a modern resort, this is not the one.

I did not stay here but I walked up from the beach and ate at there poolside bar. Food prices were high as to be expected but the dishes were underwhelming for the costs. The real kicker is I got food poisoning from the crab curry. It tasted good but my last bite was incredibly fishy. 30 minutes later my stomach felt a little funny. 3 hours later gut wrenching pain. I had antibiotics with me for travel and was back in action the next day but very disappointed. I have been eating at food carts all vacation and I would not of thought it would be a 5 star resort where I would get sick. I informed the front desk the next day about the bad crab. Staff was very friendly, resort looks great.

I had an amazing experience at the Renaissance. Everything was top notch, from the room to the service to the food. I would definitely recommend it and would return next time I visit Koh Samui. Room: We had a tropical villa which is a self-contained unit with a private pool. Needless to say it was very roomy. The bed was very comfortable and I particularly liked the shower which doubled as a huge bathtub. The pool comes with a pair of deck chairs and also has jets that can be turned on. While they provide a net to clean the pool, they also do it as part of daily housekeeping so you don't really need to do it. Service: Everyone here is extremely respectful and friendly. Service in Asia is generally a step above, but here it's even a step above that. Other: The pool bar happy hour is great, I highly recommend going to it. The staff there are amazing too. The front desk can organize a private tour to see sites around the island (e.g. Wats, waterfalls, etc...) I highly recommend doing that. The hotel beach is not that great but take the hotel bus to Lamai beach 10 minutes away, it's a nice stretch of beach and sand with tons of food and drink options. You can also go north to Chaweng beach, which might be my favorite beach in SE Asia.

We had an extraordinary 10-day stay at the Renaissance Hotel with the all-inclusive package. The staff at the reception, pool, and restaurants were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The cuisine in the two restaurants was prepared to perfection, offering sensational Thai dishes as well as a variety of Western options. Under the leadership of the Food and Beverage Manager, Mr. A, all employees were incredibly accommodating. One of the highlights of the all-inclusive package was the daily massages, which were professionally executed. We experienced both Thai massages and oil aroma massages, and they were truly rejuvenating. The rooms were impeccably clean throughout our entire stay. The reception was instrumental in helping us arrange additional activities, such as boat tours, and provided great recommendations. The gym was well-equipped with all the necessary facilities, making it a worthwhile visit during our stay. Overall, the hotel grounds are highly recommended for relaxation, and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality of service and amenities provided at the Renaissance Hotel.

The Renaissance Koh Samui is a refuge in hustle and bustle of the east side of Koh Samui. It is walking distance to Lamai Beach. The restaurants, TawaNN, Banana Leaf, and the International Pool Bar were fantastic. Great pool.

For sports/fitness oriented people: gym was nicely equipped (if with a somewhat weak air con), the 50m lap pool was great (no evening/night lighting in spring of 2022 tho). Food/service/rooms splendid.

OMGGGG this hotel is spectacular!! We stayed over NYE and from the moment we got there, it was luxurious! From service to accommodation to food, by far the best hotel in the islands! We had a private villa with a private pool in the garden section (highly recommend for privacy) and it felt like a movie! From the giant room and beautiful pool and bes and shower...so many amazing amenities! The property is stunning and the beach is so great! The food is unbelievable!! The morning buffet is epic! The hotel staff, to management to attendants and all so lovely! Would stay here in a heartbeat!

I struggled to rate this hotel and write a review bc ultimately my husband and I enjoyed our stay. However, I wanted to provide honest feedback based on the price, classification of the hotel, and likelihood of returning. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel and should not be charging prices as if it was one. Based on how much we paid for our “deluxe” (although that is the bottom tier room at this hotel), it did not fulfill our expectations and I would absolutely not stay here again. Pros - staff is wonderful and made the stay enjoyable. The food is also quite good for hotel food. The breakfast buffet that was included had so many made to order options, and food we ordered at the pool bar was pretty good. Cons - 1. The MOST uncomfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. Felt like they put a thin mattress cover on top of cement blocks. 2. Shower head was broken and poorly designed. The shower head pointed directly at the door with cracks which meant a flooded bathroom. Our shower head height to prevent this broken so we had to use the hand held head the whole trip. 3. We got massages one day and there was. Yoga class right outside the spa room. I could hear the teacher shouting instructions through my entire massage. It really ruining the whole experience. 4. All of the non-villa rooms face a mini jungle and noisy road. The balcony doors are not air tight ( they have big gaps) so you could hear every bird on the entire island and the obnoxious muy Thai gym truck that drove up and down the street blasting music. We could literally quote their advertisement by the end of the trip bc it was that loud. It also means it’s quite a far walk from the room to the main hotel area. 5. Tiny pool area and no amenities. The main pool on the beach had approximately 25-30 total chairs which meant they filled up by 10am (yes people reserve chairs). There was also very little to do at the resort itself besides go to the pool or spa. Would have been nice to have a few more features. 6. More family friendly hotel than relaxing/romantic hotel for couples. Not a con on the hotels part but just an observation that there were a lot of kids using the pool area. In summary, I enjoyed my stay but with so many hotel choices on the island, I would never stay here again nor pay the prices they charged for the type of room we stayed in.

The Renaissance Samui is really a gem. Beautiful gardens, peaceful beach, wow-wow-breakfast, top notch NY’s beach event, and outstanding service! The team is highly professional, incredibly caring and friendly, colorful and diverse and fully dedicated to make your stay a memorable experience. A million thanks to a hands-on GM and Chin - a true hospitality professional and team leader and to all the breakfast, housekeeping and SPA team for making this vacation so special. Highly recommend R-Samui!

Check in was quick and easy. They even give you ice cream as a welcome snack. Being a Marriott member I got upgraded to the garden pool villa which was a great surprise. Throughout my stay the staff were very attentive and provided excellent service. Khun woody the restaurant manager went out of his way to make my stay enjoyable. I’ll definitely return

The place is beautiful in general but the rooms need a bit of update. There were no sockets in the room for different types of chargers or USB ports to charge our phones, we had to ask for them so it would be nice and more comfortable for guests to have this set in the room. It was very noisy because of the frogs, and we had to change the room because the toilet started becoming very smelly, but other than that everything was great. The staff is very kind and professional, specially Mr. Tong, always very helpful and polite. Mr. Pook came to help us with the luggages, he is also very professional and kind. The housekeeping staff were very efficient and even came twice per day to clean our room. We wouldn’t mind to come back to this hotel again!

"Sadly, Renaissance Koh Samui has lost its pizzazz , making it more of a 4-star experience. The 2-bedroom villa lacked the expected luxury, and the absence of a hotel concierge and personal touches further diminished the overall appeal. Basic amenities, like sunscreen for kids at the pool, or a cable for a tv were not on offer contributing to a less-than-impressive stay. The hotel no longer exudes the charm and excitement it once had." It’s looking very Tired and understaffed, I won’t be returning unfortunately as I use to come every year prior to Covid.

Excellent service, excellent housekeeping, everything was clean how it should be, gorgeous views, and a front desk that was very helpfull in every regards. Strongly recommended. From their website: "Relax in an unparalleled beachfront resort where 5-star service and opulent amenities abound at Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa. Set amidst manicured gardens and tucked along the shore of Koh Samui island, our boutique hotel ensures a tranquil visit. Our prime location is only steps away from popular Lamai Beach, Chaweng Beach and Fisherman’s Village. After a day on the beach, rest in 78 elegant guest rooms with plush bedding, high-speed internet and outdoor whirlpools or luxuriate in one of our lavish villas featuring private pools. Satisfy your hunger at one of our delicious restaurants with classic dishes from Thailand, locally-sourced seafood or tasty international fare. Or stay fit with a workout in our fitness center. Don’t miss the calming waters of our hotel pools or a gentle massage at Quan Spa. Those planning events in Koh Samui will enjoy our stylish venues with on-site catering services." We are with them that their location is gorgeous. It is a bit outside of the center, so it is quite calm and not too crowded.

It's an absolutely stunning place. Beautiful, very private, remote but easily accessible, and nice people. I loved everything about the place. Breakfast was good too and they offered free yoga classes next beach and also bad Thai massage classes. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

I’d love to share my experience here, the service of every staff is really friendly and helpful. Especially when we arrived, the receptionist “WHITE” is very considerable and caring. I really had great time here with my boyfriend and very enjoyed the birthday celebration here. And, need to highly recommend the restaurants in side the resort, both are very delicious and valuable. Won’t be regret for the experience here. Thank you guys for the great service.

It’s a fantastic resort to stay back with your family. Our stay was for four nights and we enjoyed each and every moment. Very well located and offers private beach as well to spend time with your close ones.

We had the best time ever at the Renaissance hotel in Samui. We chose the beachfront pool villa for our honeymoon and we could not have done a better choice. First of all, the villa was beautiful and very confortable, the view, the pool everything was amazing. We felt like we were alone in nature, it was amazing. Also, the service was simply perfect. Special thank you to Deh, Woody and Den for the kind attentions. They made us feel special it was like a dream! The food at the restaurant was very good, and the breakfast had so many good choices. I really hope to come back to this paradise in Samui one day!

exceptionally great hotel, with the nicest staff I have ever encountered. Great location on a quiet beach not far from Lamai center, great well-kept gardens, great pool villas, unique service, great food. You can only give this hotel a 10/10 rating. Thank you Chin and your whole team for your hospitality. I will come back for sure...

Beautiful hotel and the pool area slipping into the sea is fantastic. Staff are wonderful. It's location isn't our usual as nothing local nearby but if you need to relax....perfect!!!

We stayed here in the garden villa for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff members are genuinely accommodating and professional. Breakfast selections are great. The signature Samui Egg Benedict worths a try. I also want to recommend a massage at Quan Spa which is very relaxing. 😇 Big thanks to everyone at Renaissance Koh Samui for making our trip such an impressive experience! 👍👍👍

Love it! The service was particularly excellent and Khun Sara at the pool bar area was especially helpful and friendly—she deserves high praise. Super friendly staff, clean room, worked to rid the place of mosquitoes well, and just an all around great hotel experience. Also, the only place I’ve come across with a secondary pool at 50 meters, great for work outs.

Stayed in two rooms, the villa and the deluxe. Hotel Room needs renovations. Still old sockets , some were not working. Sockets in villas need to be more accessible. Staff were good other than my last incident upon check out. You ask something and they answer something else. Beach was good. It’s a 20 minute drive to where the action is in Samui but I had a car so faced no problems
