In diesem Eisenbahn Museum schlagen die Herzen aller Fahrzeug- und Technikfans höher. Die ausgestellten Lokomotiven und Züge sind größtenteils frei zugänglich und können bis ins Detail bestaunt werden im TEE Trans Europa Express bekommt man für Wenig Geld im Speisewagen kleine bis Große Speisen und eine hervorragende Bedienung geboten. Ein tolles Museum! Sehr herzlicher Empfang, Preise vollkommen in Ordnung und die Exponate sind gepflegt und detailreich. Auf vielen Tafeln wird genau die Technik erklärt, wie auch die Geschichte. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

So worth the 3 euros just to wander around and see all the old locos and coaches. There is about one of each loco, and some extras in different colours. You can get inside the locos and coaches in the shed such as a Class 118 and some coaches built in 1938 for the then govenrment, but I did want to peep into the stuff in the yard such as the restaurant and sleep cars,but alas. Even just to sit on the running board of a Kof and watch the trains go by was a nice way to spend some time. Have been back and will be back. Note: not for those that find it difficult to get about. Lots of walking over tracks and big steps. Easy free parking. Note for those looking, you go under the rail tracks and it’s a turn up a small road schorn something str then a sharp left up to the tracks. Great outdoor experience with locomotion, passing with the bicycle rhine tour from Mainz to Cologne

Being a train fanatic this place is wonderful. A nice array of electric, diesel and two steam locomotives on show along with a good display hall. Items in the shop are very reasonably priced too.

Amazing experience. As a train fan it's obvious I had to visit the DB Museum. The museum offers information about trains, infrastructure, passengers and cargo. Passionate staff to tell you all about the trains. Along with the Sommerfest 2022 I can surely tell this is an amazing day spender!

Ein absolutes muss für Zug- und Technikliebhaber. Nostalgie Faktor ist mehr als gegeben. Für nur 4€ Eintritt. Ich werde hier nur ein Paar Fotos posten und nicht alle. Ihr sollt ja auch noch was zu entdecken haben.

Immer einen Besuch wert. In liebevoller Arbeit werden hier Loks gepflegt und zur Schau gestellt, die in vergangenen Zeiten ihren Dienst verrichteten. Ich hatte bei den "Einheitsloktagen" auch die Möglichkeit, einem kleinen Teil der größtenteils aus ehrenamtlichen Helfern besteht über die Schulder zu blicken. Allgemein fühlte es sich sehr familiär an, aber das kann auch am gemeinsamen Puls für die Bahn liegen. Sehr empfehlenswert für Familienausflüge aber auch als Ort für Erfahrungsaustausch unter Hobby- und Berufseisenbahnern.

Das war bereits mein zweiter Besuch im DB Museum Koblenz. Es gibt sehr viele Exponate und Ausstellungsstücke. Um alle in Ruhe und detailliert anschauen zu können reicht ein Tag nicht aus. Im Vergleich zu meinem vorherigen Besuch 2017 haben sich die Exponate auch etwas verändert und man konnte sich über mehr Lokomotiven/Triebzüge freuen.

Really enjoyed the museum. It was reported to be open daily but in off peak season it is only apparently open on Saturdays. Well worth 6 euros for a family ticket. It seems as if it is run by volunteers who live trains, almost a living restoration project. You can get very up close to the trains and into a few of them. Explore the model railway when you are there and go outside as well. Not quite as comprehrnsive as some of the big train museums like York in the UK but very quaint and personal.

Hier haben wir einen sehr schönen und beeindruckenden Tag verbracht. Wir sind ohne große Erwartungen angekommen und staunten nicht schlecht. Es gab sehr viel zu sehen, Loks, Wagons, den TEE und auch überall viel Liebe zum Detail, Modelle in groß und klein. Dabei alles gehegt und gepflegt. Ein großes Lob möchte ich den Ehrenamtlern aussprechen die diesen Museumsbesuch doppelt schön gemacht haben. So nette und freundliche, hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter haben wir sehr sehr selten gesehen. Einfach klasse - Vielen Dank!

Eintauchen in die Eisenbahn Nostalgie hier ist es möglich. Für kleines Geld kann man sich Zeit lassen alles anzuschauen. Nicht alle Lok's un Waggons können besichtigt werden was zwar schade aber verständlich ist. Nur Samstags geöffnet (außer besonderer Veranstaltungen) von 10-17 Uhr. Fotografieren ist erlaubt. Getränke und etwas zu essen geht auch. Ein Highlight ist das speisen in einem TEE Speisewagen sehr speziell. Vom Bahnhof Koblenz Stadtmitte etwa 2,5 km zu laufen. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vor Ort. Auch Miniaturanlagen gibt's zu bestaunen. Ein schöner Nachmittag für Groß und klein.

Great little museum where you can check out lots of old trains. Really cheap (3 euro) if your into trains its a must, if not its still a fun afternoon. Fair warning a lot of the information is only in German but it did not hamper our enjoyment at all.

Sehr schöne Auswahl an Lokomotiven und Personenwagen - insbesondere Epoche III und IV. Der TEE war unter einigen anderen sogar begehbar - die 103, 111 und 120 leider nicht. Schade, dass es keine wirkliche Gastronomie gab, Getränke konnte man allerdings beim kleinen Shop kaufen. Manche Fotos hier stammen offensichtlich vom Sommerfest und haben Gastloks dabei.

Great experience 🙌😍 They doesn't have any entry fee, but if you go on with kids train trip or other for fun you have to pay little amount. And jumping trucks is also free for kids. It is really kids friendly, if you are living nearby you must visit. It have so many beautiful trains

Ich war am Tag der Schiene dort. Das bedeutete: Eintritt frei! Nach diesem tollen Einstieg konnte mir das Museum eine Vielzahl an unterschiedlichen Loks bieten und in vielen konnte man sogar in den Führerstand hineinklettern. Darüber hinaus gab es noch unzählige Wagons und einen TEE, welcher früher zwischen Dortmund und Oostende verkehrte. Auch hier durfte man es sich in Führestand bequem machen und einen Blick in den Maschinenraum werfen. Neben an hatte man noch schließlich die Möglichkeit, in einem Speisewagen eines solchen TEEs Kaffee und Kuchen zu genießen. Danach fuhr ich noch in einer E40 mit und machte noch einen kleinen Schlenker zum Raum mit der Bahngeschichte. Außerdem konnte man in einem der vielen Wagons in einem Simulator eine Strecke in der Schweiz fahren. Auch Kindern hat das Museum viel zu bieten: Eine große Modelleisenbahnanlage im ersten Stock der Lagerhalle, eine Minieisenbahn mit Mitfahrgelegenheit und der Verkauf zahlreicher Modelleisenbahnen. Als Abschluss holte ich mir noch eine Rindswurst im Brötchen und machte mich von dannen. (Wobei Brat- und Rinswurst nur verkauft wurden, weil Tag der Schiene war...) Nun möchte ich noch anmerken, dass dieses Museum definitiv einen Abstecher Wert und ein tolles Erlebnis ist!

Canot say much about it since it was closed, however I enjoyed the outside display, the immensely big machines, wheels and locomotives. I must be fun in the summer when the miniature garden trainset is running.

Great museum of the DB railways, it is mostly a restoration yard that you can walk around and look at the various locomotives and rolling stock of the German railways.

Some great locomotives there and coaches from the past, some favourites like the TEE unit from the 60's and several steam loco's too, worth the 3 euro each for a bit of nostalgia.

One of my favorite railway museums. You can really get up close with the trains and they don't hand-guide you through the exhibits. You are free to wander and explore, and in many cases touch and climb into the cabs of some of Germany's most storied locomotives and rail cars. The museum is run by the DB, and you will likely see many of their volunteers who are busy working and restoring equipment. If they're not too busy, they may let you into the cab of a loco not on exhibit or tell you more history or mechanical information. If you are at all interested in the bahn or its history, this is simply a must-do when in the region. The museum costs 2-3 Euros entry and is an easy 10-minute walk from the frequently-served Koblenz-Lützel station.

Very nice museum with lots of variety in loco's from steam to electric. The walkable terrain is pretty large! Lots of educational exhibits. You will be entertained for hours. The entrance fee is very low, but the experiences you get out of it are priceless! Also has a fun little shop.

Nice museum containing mostly heritage electric and diesel locomotives. There are a small number of old steam locos but not functional.

I had a lot of fun here with my 6 year old. There's a great little rideable train that my son loved. Lots of model trains in motion. There were real trains going back and forth on the tracks. I can definitely recommend it!
