The temple was in very nice setting and everything was in the proper managed including the parking lot, the local shopping store area and also there were food sold in case you want to have a little meal in front the main entrance of the temple. There is some entry fee for international tourists/visitors but free for Thai people. The highlight of this temple is the 1,260 steps of stair climbing up the top of the cave hill. For us, it took about 40 minutes and literally depending on how healthy you are, some take shorter and some take longer time. I recommend you to try to reach to the top because the view and the area at the top is worth it. It was a breath taking view with the 360 view. You can see the horizontal of the ocean with the stunning view of the mountain beauty which is only located in Krabi. On the way, there were 2 the toilets stops and also there is drinking water tap at the top of the hill. I do recommend you to take a bottle of water. Due to the stairs is very steep and narrow so very be careful when climbing up and use the handrail will be more safe. Moreover, there is a number of steps wrote along the way which will give you a sense of progress. And also I suggest visit the tiger cave which is underneath the hill that we climb up. The overall experience was so memorable with stunning view and it may took you roughly 3 hours for this temple to explore. Enjoy the climbing.

Worth a trip if you're in the area. Free entry and you can easily spend a few hours here if you're wanting to walk up the 1,200 steps to the top. Make sure you take plenty of water as you will need it. Great views at the top and you're rewarded with free water or you can buy cold water and snacks from the small shop.

One of the place must see and not to be missed! Tiger Cave Temple, a place you can come for worship or exertion. Small fees for non Thai tourists. Stairs climbing are not for the faint of heart. Get proper non-slip shoes or sandals. Small bottle of water recommended for hydration or unexpected turn of event. The view is breathtaking and worthwhile. Follow the rules on proper clothing would be beneficial.

A stellar temple built within a cave near the steps to walk up to the top of the mountain. There are monks practicing, so be peaceful and respectful. Old folklore notes that tigers used to live in the cave. Therefore, once the temple started being built in the 1970s, they named it the tiger cave temple, with tigers signifying confidence in bhuddism. It's worth checking out for sure, and it's free.

This is a lovely Buddhist temple to visit. The temples and shrines are beautiful and once you climb all 1260 steps the view is breathtakingly beautiful. I would caution those who are not fit or on a time limit when climbing these steps as they are challenging as seen in one picture. It took my group roughly an hour to climb up and 30 minutes to climb back down. Beware of the monkeys, any food, drinks or wrapped items will interest them and they will try to open bags and steal from you.

They are not lying when they say 1260 stairs but it is totally worth it. The Buddha at the top of the mountain is magnificent. Do take plenty of water and make stops, everyone needs them you go straight up. No regrets I would go again. Go early and be ready for monkeys they slide on the fence and can get to you very quickly.

Be ready for one hell of a stair climb. These aren't normal steps either, most of them are giant steps at a steep angle. Is it worth it? Depends on the individual really but I'd wager anyone willing to go there and climb the stairs in the first place would find it worthwhile. The views from the top are amazing, the statue is quite magnificent. It started raining as soon as we got up there which really helped cool us down. Can't imagine doing this in the middle of summer. The state of the area up there could use a little attention. Granted the stairs seem the only way up so that likely hampers any attempt at maintenance. Given the scale of construction of the temple at the foot of the mountain however, tells me a plan could be made. That's the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. Other than that it is quite a sight.

Very nice temple and for free :) only donation if you'd like but otherwise you won't pay anything. The walk up to the top is absolutely worth it You'll go 1260 steps up the hill to reach the top. Take enough water with you because you'll need it! But on the top is a water refill station for free :) The view is amazing and the Buddha is very beautiful! Just be careful and watch out for the monkeys, they like taking things away hahah

Free entry. The hill is way more challenging than it looks. The stairs are very uneven, most of them are very steep. On a hot day it was a real challenge for us. Because of steep stairs the climb down wasn't that easy too. There were monkey family when we climbed down in the evening, they did try to sneak in the backpacks of travelers. Just don't show them you have anything edible. 😁 Water bottle is a must! On top there is free filtered water pipe. They do ask women to dress up properly, but they do borrow scarfs for cover up. Reaching the top was very rewarding, views are so beautiful!

To the temple leads a difficult and steep ascent of 1260 steps. It took us 35 minutes to get to the top, and 15 minutes to get back down but it was worth it because the view from the top is fantastic. At the top there is a tap with drinking water. Along the way we did not meet monkeys but there were a lot of them in the park which is located at the very beginning of trail.

One thing I loved was that it's free to enter - they just ask for donations if you want to contribute. The view from the top is gorgeous after climbing those 1,260 steps (there are markers along the way to track your progress). I was wiped by the end but feeling that sense of accomplishment made it worthwhile! Now, they do require you to cover shoulders and knees out of respect. They lend scarves at the entrance which is super nice. I did notice some people sneaking them off once inside which seemed kinda lame to me. But anyway, not a big deal to wrap up for the visit. There are monkeys playing around on the trail which can be fun to see. And some dogs keeping them in check in case they get too excited. Make sure to pack water and an extra tee because you'll work up a sweat on the way up! All in all, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Tiger Cave Temple if you want some exercise with a dose of culture and killer views. Don't psych yourself out about the stairs - take breaks and you'll get there! The scenery at the top is worth it.

Free of charge and you can do everything on your own, no need to book an extra tour. In the Tiger Cave and at the top of the temple, please cover your shoulders and other exposed areas. For the stairs to the top, which can be very strenuous, you can of course remove the cover. There is fresh & free drinking water at the top. The view is definitely worth the walk to the top!

The temple looks beautiful and clean. You need to go up all the way 1260 steps to reach the top! And please wear decent yet suitable wear as it is a temple and u need to climb up all the way.

Amazing place!!! climbing the mountain is really difficult. If you have health issues, I recommend you don’t climb. Besides the climb there is also the other side of the mountain which most people don’t realize. Here you can find the caves and amazing trees. This place has extremely powerful energy you can feel the aura. Really loved it!

If you go to the view point be ready for really beautiful view. But you need to know: 1. The way up take 30-40 min. 2. Bring enough water (recommend 1.5L) 3. Recommend - bring clothes that you can change after you back from the view point, because you gonna be sweaty and it's nice to have new clothes

Tiger 🐅 Temple 🛕 climb cave and temple. We expected to have to climb 1260 steps to see anything however that was not the case. You can arrive at Tiger Cave where the legend lays the Tiger would sleep and later it was monks retreat. Beautiful special energy the temple behind is being built and all the donations have a purpose ✨️ 🙏 so please be kind respectful and cover your shoulders and knees as a form of respect towards others cultures.

Enjoyed the whole experience. Comfortable footwear is a must. Bring a bottle of water or enough water with you as it can get very humid and you can't buy water up there. There's a drinking water tap but it wasn't working when we were there. The sceneries changes as you go up, worth taking pictures to remind you of the different levels. The monkeys are cute and they won't bother you. But they may grab your food if you're seen with it especially at ground level where the food stalls are. The view from the top is breathtaking at 360 degree. The cave is by the entrance on the ground level with some tiger statues. Kindly dress appropriately for the temples and consider leaving a donation.

When they said 1237 steps they meant it. The caveat is that some of those steps are on metal ladders attached to the cliff face and it is STEEP! In high temperature and humidity it was a massive challenge. The view is spectacular. At the bottom there is a lot to explore. Definitely worth the trip.

Moderate-hard climb. Doable in 20-30 minutes with good condition. The view was wonderful. We advise you to come later in the day when most of the tours are already passed.

No need to pay or book any tour guides! You can DIY this hike....it's a straightforward path. Just book a Grab Ride and drop you off at the entrance and then you start walking! We even skipped the Tiger Temple... we just went ahead and did the stairs. 10AM is hot at certain areas but at least not crowded.

Ran 13km over from hotel and climbed up the steep stairs to a rewarding view! Lots of dogs and monkeys at the base. There’s a tap (filtered water) after 1260 steps which tasted funny. No entrance fee but a kind donation to maintain the upkeep of the temple is much appreciated.

A small temple at the peak of this mountain. One needs to walk up the steep stairs (at some sections, almost like climbing). The first 3-400 steps are especially steep, some may give up here. Once you reach the temple, there is a nice vista and breeze. Such a satisfying hike.

A very beautiful scenic site on the top of the mountains but as it's said a difficult path often leads to a beautiful location so was the case with this. There are around 1260 extremely steep stairs to climb this location and not recommended for the faint hearted but the view from the top is magical and if you are ok with moderate trek then you must definitely try to go to the top of the mountain. It's really a feeling of accomplishment after completing this trek. A lovely experience and must recommended

Such a beautiful place once you finally get to the top. The climb is pretty steep but worth it to see the beautiful golden Buddha at the top and the spectacular views of the surroundings. 1260 steps. Depending on your level of fitness it could take anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes.

  • 5/5 Dilip S. 1 year ago on Google
There are 1260 steep steps to climb and it will be a bit difficult. Pace yourselves and definitely bring some water and keep it inside the bag as there are monkeys(they are friendly but will try to grab any food/drinks in hand) The view from the top is surreal. There is drinking water available at the very top and there is a hindu/Buddhist monuments. Hope you enjoy the climb and the view.

Definitely recommend this place. The steps are very steep at time. There’s a restroom halfway through the climb. Make sure to bring water. You can refill on top. The monkeys are friendly. But don’t leave your shoes unattended.

Several temples and pagodas on these grounds, but one of the few Buddhas I have seen with an electric halo added. The tiger cave itself is behind the big golden Buddha and itself with a short history of the possible origen of this cave's name. The cave itself even has a tiger statue to help along the imagination of many... while what is believed to be the real cave has been designated a sacred site. Mind your head and watch your feet the floor is slippery.

Breathtaking spot. Gotta climb 1300 steep stairs but it's worth it for the phenomenal views. The huge golden Buddha is a 'wow' moment too. Watch out for the monkey's, they steal your stuff. This was truly a wonderful afternoon

This is something you have to do, take the stairs up to see the golden buddha, admire the beautiful views of Krabi. It is worth every single step you take.

Its totally worth it to go up there . Its 1278 steps only. Its hard to go up there but these are just the numbers , take breathe and have patience to go up there. Its easy to go down, all it takes 20 minutes to come down but to go up it would be depend upon your strength and its takes only 1.30 hr hardly. Thanks!

Located around 20 KM from Krabi, this place is known for its Tiger cave temple and the 1400 steps associated with it. Make sure to take enough water and plan your Ascension properly in order to climb properly. A definite visit if you're planning to visit Krabi!

Take a sherpa and oxygen. If you plan on going to top and maybe a motivational coach. For those steep staircases. But outstanding at the top. Gorgeous views. Or use these handy pictures to blag it.

Spot worth sweating for :) There are 1260 steps after some renovation work, and they take you to amazing and special spot. We went up just before sunrise (around 6 am) and we were sweating 🥵 a lot, so choose wisely, i would suggest avoiding the middle of the day. Some people we met on the way, were going there for the second time in two days- 1 time for the sunset and 2 for the sunrise, so it says it all. Get some water, patience :) and start climbing those stairs. It took us around 30 minutes and we consider ourselves fit, some ladies arrived at the top maybe an hour later, so give yourself enough time based on your fitness. Our legs were shaking once we got down 😂. Ps. We haven't encountered any monkeys or tigers :)

A fantastic experience with beautiful views, I climbed 1260 steps to the peak of the mountain which was very difficult as some of the steps are very steep and easily 40cm high. Although it's a pilgrimage that's well worth the effort. I wouldn't reccomend trying to get to the peak if you have any underlying health conditions or are prone to heat stroke.

  • 4/5 Kritika S. 2 years ago on Google
View from the top is worth the arduous climb of very steep 1620 steps. A few more to the levels for better views. Little maintenance since it runs on donations. A very picturesque spot with quite a few tourists making it here
