Lalon, also known as Fakir Lalon Shah, Lalon Shah or Lalon Fakir, was a prominent Bengali philosopher, author, Baul saint, mystic, songwriter, social reformer and thinker. This place carries the Palin history. But I don't like the internal people activities because they are interpreted in the wrong way.

Lalon also known as Lalon Sain, Lalon Shah, Lalon Fakir or Mahatma Lalon was a prominent Bengali philosopher, Baul saint, mystic, songwriter, social reformer and thinker from the Indian subcontinent. Regarded as an icon of Bengali culture, he inspired and influenced many poets, social and religious thinkers including Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and Allen Ginsberg although he "rejected all distinctions of caste and creed". Widely celebrated as an epitome of religious tolerance, he was also accused of heresy during his lifetime and after his death. In his songs, Lalon envisioned a society where all religions and beliefs would stay in harmony. He founded the institute known as Lalon Akhrah in Cheuriya, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from Kushtia railway station. His disciples dwell mostly in Bangladesh and West Bengal. Every year on the occasion of his death anniversary, thousands of his disciples and followers assemble at Lalon Akhrah.

Lalon also known as Fakir Lalon Shah, Lalon Shah, Lalon Fakir or Mahatma Lalon. He was a prominent Bengali philosopher, Baul saint, mystic, songwriter, social reformer and thinker from the Indian subcontinent. Regarded as an icon of Bengali culture, he inspired and influenced many poets, social and religious thinkers including Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and Allen Ginsberg although he "rejected all distinctions of caste and creed". Lalon was against religious conflict and many of his songs mock identity politics that divide communities and generate violence. In his songs, Lalon envisioned a society where all religions and beliefs would stay in harmony. He even rejected nationalism at the apex of the anti-colonial nationalist movements in the Indian subcontinent. He did not believe in classes or castes, the fragmented, hierarchical society, and took a stand against racism. For his followers this is a holy place. His grave residing here along with his first level followers. In the month of october there is big festival in this mazaar. There is no entree fees. Many Baul (Lalon followers) who stay in Mazar play Baul Song. Enjoying those song in that atmosphere is a different experiance. Try to avoid evening time in this place. Just opposit to the park there is a big field. Normally you can park your car here. Parking charge is 100 Taka for full day. Just beside the field there is a small river called Kali Gang. There are many small shop and stall are around the mazaar.

This place resembles our history and legacy as well. Fakir Lalon was not only the prominent history maker but also was a topnotch philosopher. This place has nicely kept the legacy of this tremendous human being. There are a market adjacent to this mazar where you can find all the local musical instruments and necessary utilities of rural areas. The place is calm, quite, peaceful and praiseworthy. There is a lake besides this mazar which is beautiful. You can find lot of people’s there and you will be amazed to see their love and dedication towards the great Lalon Shah. Beautiful place.

Nothing much to see here. The place is actually very underwhelming. There are some cool sculptures inside. It also has a ‘Museum’ (which costs 10 taka). The museum actually has nothing except probably 3 or 4 things used by Lalon Shah. There are some paintings. However, you’ll get to enjoy air conditioned room for a few minutes - just kidding! However, if you’re in Kushtia, it’s still worth a visit because of it’s historical interest.

A serene place for the Lalon lovers. Outside is beautiful and the tomb itself is a symbol of peace. Lalon song in the evening is refreshing. On the other hand, no dustbin is found and washroom not cleaned.

Lalon was a great philosopher. His philosophy of pro-humanity has become Bengali culture. His thoughts have influenced millions of people. Thousands of his fans still gather in Chheuria. This place is a holy rendezvous for Lalan lovers.

It is a very quiet place. Although I went during the fasting month. The weather was very hot but the place was very clean. Next to Lalan Shah's grave is the grave of his foster mother and in front of it are the graves of some of Lalan Shah's followers. To protect the sanctity of the shrine, taking pictures with mobile phones and cameras is prohibited inside the shrine. Next to the shrine is a three-storied auditorium where Lalan's followers stay and singing songs. Next to it is the academic building, there is the Lalan Museum on the ground floor, the library on the second floor, the monitoring room on the third floor and the Lalan Culture and Music Education School on the fourth floor. On the other side of the shrine there is a large monochord sculpture. There is a shower, toilet and drinking water facility. Lalan Mela is held twice every year. Once during the festival of Dol Purnima and another time on the 1st of Bangla Kartik month (16th of October). This fair is organized at Lalan Akhara. In Lalon Mela, his disciples come from all over the country. Also, many visitors from the country and abroad also come. Here the Baul song festival goes on throughout the night. The shrine is decorated with colors on this occasion. However, there is criticism that ganja sessions are held at this fair, devotees come here and consume ganja. If someone wants to come from Dhaka by train, get down at Poradah railway station. Then from Poradah, take an easy bike or auto rickshaw to Chowrhas, then get down here by bus or easy bike and get down at Dabirmolla gate, and from there take an easy bike to Lalon Shah's shrine. If you want, you can reserve a car from the station and go to the shrine. In that case, the rent may increase. If you are traveling by train from Khulna, Jessore, Rajshahi, Chilahati, you can first get down at Poradah railway station and follow the same rules.

The abode of the spiritual saint Lalon was in the village of Cheuriya. He died on Friday, October 17, 1890. He used to initiate locals and devotees in this Cheuriya. He used to organize festivals here every year during winter. Thousands of devotees flock to this festival, where they discuss Baul songs and physiology. Even after his death, devotees throng here every year for this talk. This is how an arena is created here. His beloved devotees are also buried here. This is how the popularity of this place has increased day by day. His present shrine was built there in 1963. In 2004, the academy building with a modern auditorium was constructed there. The mausoleum complex has a museum dedicated to Lalon.

Lalon Shah (1774-1890) Baul guru, and singer and composer of baul songs. According to tradition, he was born into a kayastha family in the village of Bhandara in Kushtia. As a young boy, Lalon caught smallpox and was abandoned in a critical condition. Siraj Sain, a Muslim fakir, picked up the child and nursed him back to health. Lalon was later inducted as a Baul fakir. He set up an akhda at Chheuriya, where he lived with his wife and a few disciples.
