Hotel in very bad conditions. Damaged floor, no electric conections (well, there where 2 broken ones). Breakfast was sooo bad. Clerk was giving me excuses to issue my invoice, this was weird. I wouldnt stay in this hotel again. EVER :(

Located in La Ceiba's downtown with a beautiful view of the ocean and Malecón offers a very comfortable spot to stay in the lovely city of La Ceiba

HOT! Sorry wifi. They tell you that they have it on all floors. But they don't you have to come down to the first floor to use it

Elevator was out of service, some rooms don't have electric connection in the bathroom and the rooms that are near the street make it hard to sleep because of the noise of discos nearby, but the owner changed us rooms and gave us courtesy breakfast and the client service is great

Really cozy place, clean, moderate prices and excellent view, employee behavior could be better.

A lot of room for improvement, starting with the service in the kitchen.

Worst experience ever!! It's a very old building, the elevator isn't working so if you bring luggage, it's going to be a nightmare having to climb all the stairs. They assigned our room on the fourth floor, and we had a lot of luggage. So we requested another room in a lower level, but he guy at the front desk refused, even though the hotel was almost empty (very few guests). Also, be prepared to spend the night waiting outside the hotel if you want to go out and want to come back late to your room. I went out the first night of my visit to La Ceiba, and when I came back, the lobby entrance was locked. I called the front desk and no one answered, and I kept knocking the front entrance door until someone could hear me. I literally had to wait 20 minutes outside until one employee decided to come downstairs to open the door. Also, the security guard they have there will ask you for money. He told me that he would watch out for my car, and asked me if I had any money. I told him no, so he stopped me and said "okay when you come back, please bring me something, like a drink". I felt unsafe so I had to give him money, and I know that he is the guy employed by the hotel. He is there to extort the guests not to make them feel safe. Also, the rooms are dirty, old, and the beds are really small. At least the AC was working fine, that's the only thing that worked there apparently. Also, there is a bar nearby. Could be a good thing if you want something to drink at a walking distance, but it's annoying if you want some good night sleep, because of the loud music. The hotel is expensive, not worth a single penny of what it cost. There are much better hotels around in La Ceiba, avoid this one if you can!!

I would not recommend staying here. We stayed during the week of 10/31/2022. Our room was robbed by staff while we were out for the day. My wallet had been taken with all my cards & $100 US cash. The hotel security took a report. There were local Amazon charges on my card. Super upset we decided to leave the island on the next ferry the following day. The hotel also does have a swimming pool but there is no adult area which means kids likely peeing in the pool. The pool area is also a bit run down. The area to borrow water items seem always to be closed. The service in the restaurant was super slow and a bit expensive. Another thing about Cozumel you can not buy alcohol on Sundays or after 9pm other then a restaurant. El Cid is located in mostly a deserted area. You have to rent a vehicle or take a cab to get to the main tourist area. The main area is extremely expensive so be prepared to pay tourists prices. The hotelis next to where the cruise ships come in and swimming in the ocean semmed gross as cruise ships tend to leak oils and other toxic stuff. El Cid Was probley the worst place weve stayed in mexico next to Tulum

😠 The building is beautiful. However in my experience the service is not good. Check in took over an hour to get to my room. Water was very difficult to get access to. I was able to get water from the security guard. However the front desk staff during the day are not present at night nobody is there...
