Surrounded by forest, the 35-metre-high tower offers visitors an unparalleled vantage point to admire the stunning scenery surrounding Lausanne. As you climb the 302 steps to the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the city, sparkling Lake Geneva and the majestic mountains of Switzerland's two mountain ranges - the Alps and the Jura.

In order to get to this tower which was built in 2003 you can catch m2 from the main station all the way to the Sallez station. From there you walk about 15 minutes (signs will show you the way) and you will have reached the tower. It's 35 meters high and on a clear day you may spot not only Lausanne but also Jura, the Alps and the Plateau. Free of charge.

Fun little excursion. I recommend taking the bus unless you are used to tiny Swiss roads. The bus ride is very pleasant. The park is fun especially if you have small children. The walk back to the tower is paves and easy. The spiral stairs of the tower are interesting and the views are good if you get a clear day.

Sauvabelin Tower offers a truly breathtaking experience in the heart of Lausanne. From the moment you step foot in the park, you can sense the tranquility and natural beauty that surrounds you. The tower itself is a marvel of architecture, seamlessly blending with its natural surroundings. The wooden structure is a sight to behold and provides an interesting contrast to the modern cityscape of Lausanne. The highlight, of course, is the panoramic view from the top. The climb may be a bit steep, but the effort is well worth it. Once you reach the observation deck, you're rewarded with 360-degree views that will leave you in awe. On a clear day, you can see the sparkling waters of Lake Geneva, the city of Lausanne, and the majestic Alps in the distance. It's a photographer's dream! Whether you're a nature lover, a history buff, or just looking for a peaceful escape from the city, Sauvabelin Tower is a must-visit. Be sure to bring your camera and enjoy the serenity and beauty this hidden gem has to offer.

A magnificent tower, and you can see all of Lausanne from the top. It is a bit of a climb, but it is definitely worth it! The best part is that it is completely free, and there is a small cafe nearby with a large duck pond where you can sit and watch the ducks. I cannot recommend this place enough if you a visiting on a budget, it is one of the many things that are free in the area.

Best view of the city from an all wood tower in the forest. Be sure you are fit enough for the stairs to get at the top though.

What a spot! And do head over the the Lac aswell - more wildlife in a small Swiss pond than in most British rivers... superbe!

Great view from a really unique look-out tower. The neat style and architecture were worth it alone and then the panoramic view was the icing.

Nice to visit, pleasant, quiet park for families. The climb up the tower is free and it's about 150+ steps altogether. You'll get a 360° view of lausanne from the top and it's very nice.

A beautiful tower in the middle of a patch of forest, I really like that place and how the tower is built. There's a café just a few minutes away from it. I think the café is closed in the winter though.

Imposing, wooden, towering, and induced some vertigo if you are susceptible. This is an amazing construction of sponsored wooden circular stairs, winding way to the top (all climbing, no elevators). You need to push a button on turnstile to enter and to exit, likely to keep the count of people and their weight manageable (I hope). The path up to the entry is all gravel and rocks so only those who can climb a small hill on rocky path make it. The views of lake, mountains, forest and city are impressive, as long as you can climb several curved stairs and not affected by heights. Unique tower in the world, with aesthetic design just to see from the bottom. Worth a visit as they say

I considered this place amazing, hidden in the forest with amazing woodwork, you will be warded with fantastic views when you reach the top.

The best view in Lausanne. From the town, it’s a long and difficult uphill walk. But 100% unquestionably worth it! Breathtaking views. Make sure you go when the weather is good because the tower is closed in bad weather. Walk up from the town takes about 1hr at a medium pace.

Very cool tower in Park in Lausanne. It’s made entirely of wood and takes a while to get to the top I was huffing and puffing when I reached the top level but the views of Lake Geneva made it worthwhile.

Great 360 views. Got there early (right as it opened), so I was lucky enough to have the tower to myself. The climb up wasn’t too difficult.

Impressive views of Lausanne and the Alps (even Mont Blanc). You can have a nice hike through the park, enjoythe greenery and then climb up the tower.
