This is one of our local favorite museums, located north of the Lausanne cathedral and with a beautiful view over Lake Geneva and the alps. This spring of 2023 the Hermitage foundation presents an exhibition featuring works by the Belgian (Flemish) painter Léon Spilliaert, who had his most productive period during the first two decades of the 20th century. His paintings are mainly produced on paper and present a mixture of different techniques. The museum shop is good. The only negative side is the rather important distance between the museum and parking facilities, like often in Lausanne including a rather steep uphill and downhill walk.

Nice museum! But the view of the city was obstructed by the trees grown around it. So it was a little disappoint for us. The garden was nice with some exotic plants, but it's quite small.

The admission is 19CHF per person and it includes the audio guide too. Many of the museums here charge about 5CHF/EUROS at least so it is very reasonable and you have self-guide tours. And at the back of the museum, there is a beautiful garden with a lake view. There were people just came for a picnic and cycling.

Herrliche Aussicht. Derzeit Pastell-Malerei.

Beautiful and elegant 19th century located in a very pleasent park just in the outskirts of Lausanne! The art pieces in expos are always carefully selected and therefor the quality of these expos is very high. There are regularly conferences related to the theme or period of the ongoing expo. The giftshop has high quality items and a good selection of books. There is also a very good restaurant

It was exactly what I expected - a lovely little museum with a large exposition. The overview over Emmeneggers work seemed nicely chosen and fittingly adorned with works of his compatriots and likely influences.

Very well done exhibition on Vuillard with constants parallels to japanese estampes that inspired the painter.

I visited with my young daughter from Bengaluru, India in 2019. It is a small museum but with an excellent exposition. Tickets include audio as well. Very calm area which enhances the viewing experience. There is a book shop and cafe. You will need to deposit your bags in lockers at the entrance before entering the museum. We had a great time!

Nice location and building but poor experience, the exposition is rather small and disorganized. Overpriced for what it offers.

A long way up for almost a little view of the cathedral tower and some part of the lake. Not worth it if walking.
