As usual, the years pass but le Restaurant du Theatre stays a place I will always enjoy in Lausanne! Whether its the terrasse, the service (we had an amazing waiter) or the food, everything was perfect!

Yesterday night we had dinner in this restaurant situated in the opera house in Lausanne close to the city center. We have been here many times in the past and not really been excited by the food, that is partly Italian. This time we ordered a goat cheese salad and pappardelle with chanterelles. There was one thin slice of goat cheese on a slice of cold rye bread, placed on a finely sliced low budget salad soaking in a vinegar rich sauce and covered with bacon bits, all decorated with a couple of half cherry tomatoes. There was a lot of pappardelle but very little mushroom and, again, some cherry tomato halves. The value on the plates did not reach five dollars/euros/Swiss francs. It really does not help that the staff was friendly and tried to cover up the poor performance of the kitchen! There is a very high sound level inside and on the terrace you risk to be exposed to high ppm-s of cigar smoke if you don't ask for a table in a corner of the garden. Very poor value for money.

Great food, very polite staff. The leg of lamb was amazing and so was the wood oven baked pizza-proper napolitana. Selection of wine was good-not too large, with some quality bottles. Highly recommended.

I LOVE this restaurant in summer. The stunning garden populated with its chic chairs, beautiful flowers and gorgeous calming pond, makes this place the perfect summer spot. If you ever feel like you need a holiday in the south of France but can’t actually leave Lausanne - go there, get a flute of Prosecco or champagne and indulge. The food is amazing. My favourite is the Pâtes du Théâtre, pictured. This rich saffron infused creamy goodness is an absolute treat and a rare find. Though you’ll go home potentially chastising yourself for finishing the whole plate (it’s a big portion)... it really is worth it. It’s a little pricey but not unreasonable for a nice restaurant. Pizzas, pastas, fish and meat, nice wine list, all in a nice indoor or terrasse with great service....then this is a perfect place to go !

This restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurants. The food is tasty and very fresh. I recommend: Pineapple salad, margarita pizza, and the saffron pasta. I want to thank John for his kindness and his service. He was very friendly with us and so professional 🌹. Thanks for all the crew in this restaurant.

We went to the Restaurant du Théâtre for a family dinner on a Saturday evening. the staff had our reservation and we were immediately shown out table. Over the course of the dinner the staff kept friendly and professional. The menu offer plenty of options including games (in autumn). We order a wild boar eye ribs whit mushroom that also included caramelised pear and roasted pineapple, and the different flavours were perfectly balanced. Their scallops-pumpkin risotto was perfectly cook and overalls delicious. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for it’s service, food and atmosphere.

This restaurant is in the middle of Lausanne surrounded by trees 🌳 amazing atmosphere with a beautiful garden !! The food was great !!! Pizza well made and juicy🍕 The vitello tonnato is delicious! The waiter is super Friendly & Funny his name is Stefan. Advice you to go there after work with a group of friends or colleagues! ( better reserve before you go if you want a table on the terrace ;) )

The restaurant is really nice. It is located in an old , historic and beautiful building. It has a big garden, with a fountain. The personnel is great; they are really there when you need them, they are efficient and funny. The pizza is definitely the best pizza in Lausanne. highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back.

Food is tasty, staff is friendly, terrasse is wonderful. Price for the plat du jour is affordable. For me there was not enough food on the plate. I left hungry. Not many glutenfree vegetarian options.

We had an excellent official dinner for our international workshop. Very courteous service that accommodated our last minute requests (thank you) and very good food.

Very good Italian restaurant in Lausanne. Service is excellent and the food is outstanding. The meals are one by one very typical and prepared with fresh ingredients and passion. Wines are more then perfect. The waiter understands which wine goes with the food. They are suitable for larger groups and... You will get your food all at the same time.. next time I am around I will go here again. In particular the pizzas were great

Very expensive. Food portions are small for filets de perche. The fish was not bad, it was not good either, rather indifferent. The restaurant was full of people. Seating fairly close to each other. The desert was good. I would not go again.

Excellent food quality, and very pleasant terrace. There is a large choice in the menu and the waiters are very polite and competent. I come way there on a recurring three times a month and always find well cooked Italian cuisine and authentic atmosphere. It is also well located, near a parking and just next door to the Lausanne's theatre.

Of all the places I've had lamb, two have stood out. This was one of them. Restaurant du Theatre is a city treasure!

A had the pasta dish that was their speciality and was delicious. The indoor restaurant is very cosy.

We had a group dinner here after our international conference that was being held in Lausanne. We had tables outside under a tent near a fountain. The food was good. The service was super.
