New art museum in Lausanne featuring modern and older art paintings and sculptures...not far from the main railway station. Clean and fresh building with a lot of space. Free to see the normal exposition. Friendly, helpful staff some with squeaky shoes.. ☺.

Great permanent collection, no parking: come via public transportation: it's right next to the train station. Very modern architecture. Nice café

Amazing building! The exhibition is also super interesting and the flow of the tour is set by different themes. Sometimes the pieces does not completely match one another but that's fine. Again the architecture of the building is impressive and even if you only take a walk there it's totally worth it. The entry is free upon an online registration so it not something to miss when you are Lausanne.

Very nice collection and a well distributed space. They provide lots of additional information on each room in a manner that is now intrusive (make sure to get the printed guide at the entrance!) And of course, all inside a wonder of brutalist architecture, with a nice plaza, and surrounded by other museums and cafes.

Amazing Magdalena Abakowicz exhibition with textiles as sculptures. There was a workshop for all to test our quilting skills

The exterior of the building looks unpleasant, but inside it's super bright and spacious. Small, but interesting collection with useful map and guide.

2 adults free entry to about 80% of the museum. Not need to pay the entry pass unless you want to see the temporary exhibitions. Under26s free for temporary exhibitions as well? Museums is thorough with fine arts and contemporary art.

It was a building with clean lines, built next to the tracks. However it’s not too big, and under-26s could visit for free. I paid 15CHF to visit the temporary exhibition. The permanent collections were on the right side of the museum and the temporary one (currently on tissage and textiles) on the left. There were a few interesting paintings on the first floor, though I have to admit I found the more modern stuff on the top floor less interesting. It was a nice visit, a good way to visit the building and also learn about local artists.

Beautiful paintings! Cheered me up! Cleaned my soul!

I enjoyed experiencing this building from both outside and in. The permanent collection is able to be visited at no cost. There are lockers for bags. The collection takes you through time over two floors and includes some great pieces by renowned artists.

Nice on a hot day as it's air conditioned and free to see the Collection (permanent display). If you look properly, there is a Monet, a Matisse and a couple of Rodin sculptures in there. Counter staff was polite, security sent us back to the counter to get stickers we didn't need. Cafe was empty and expensive but staff were pleasant. Lots of modern art in floor 2 if that's your thing, more classical stuff on floor 1. We were happy to do just the free bits and it's right by the train station so great if you're early for your train.

Nice building and collections. Free on the first Saturday of every month.

Both the permanent and temporary exhibitions were worth the time. It's a journey of history of mankind to the modern times via images. Note: First Saturday every month is free :D

Very diverse collection of art stretching from 12th century to today. The museum exhibits both local Swiss as well as internationally known artists and leads the visitors through the epochs to form a complete illustration of art throughout the years. The museum is free the first Saturday of the month.

It was a lovely museum to visit. Recommended if you love arts and it's near the Lausanne station . Watch out for the exhibitions and check out their web page in advance for tickets

Undoubtedly meticulous and solitude moderism, the architect deserve every applause. But one of the crucial point of this museum is that the photography that they choose to represent this space was totally an illusion. Photoshop some pedestrian to build a clean space and use 8mm or 12mm lens camera to create something far from human perception are totally different things. Architect needs to award the limit of mankind, refuse that means refuse the reality of architecture and will finally lead architecture into the category of painting

Free entry. Lots of staff present. The displayed items are of all kinds so love it and hate it at the same time. Doesn't matter that much because of the free entry. Staff is very friendly. Gift shop is well assorted (a lot of books) but quite expensive.

Went for the permanent exhibition, which was free. The exhibition takes you through time across 2 floors, with each room representing art in a different time period. There are paper guides and explanations behind select paintings (both available in English). I spent a bit under 2 hours (partly due to a large, noisy school group that I wanted to stay far behind), and it was an enjoyable experience. The shop also has plenty of books and other gifts.

A real gem in the close vicinity of the center of the city. Perfect combination of heritage with modern architecture.

Absolutely incredible museum—everything you could ever want. Very very well maintained, amazing art, and very kind staff. Coffee is good too ☺️ 10/10

The permanent exposition is free and it’s beautiful I thought that the building was a bit cold from the outside but on the inside is really cool. Very well organised with a space to leave your jacket and the backpack.

👍 I’ve visit this place a couple of times and I’ve enjoyed each one of it. I always choose the same burger though. 7/10. The employees could smile a bit more maybe? I know it’s a hard job but well… smiling is free! I’ll be back 😌
