Small collection of interesting photographs with extended descriptions available in an additional brochure. It was free because it was the first Saturday of the month, which was a nice surprise 😊 The mudac museum was closed though. Also, the coffee in the café on ground level is AMAZING! They also offer vegan milk alternatives (oat and rice) and the coffee is really affordable for Swiss standards☕

Exterior of the building is already inviting you to come in. Once inside it is very spacious, great energy, and friendly staff. I went on the first Saturday of the month. This means Free entry. The exhibition I visited was about Blur in photography. Very interesting and inspiring.

Visited the museum for the first time since it was relocated to Platform 10. I fell even more in love with it. The available space now gives much better possibilities for creating even more interesting visitor journeys. The place dedicated to the STUDIO is so well done and so educational. I will have to come again with my kids to explore all aspects of creating an image. As a photographer, I would highly recommend it to anyone doing photography (both enthusiasts and professionals).

I visited the museum on the first Saturday of the month, when Switzerland offers free entry to several museums. At Elysee, you get an ecosystem to embrace your photography skills. You get an opportunity to be creative, use props, backdrop to get a picture clicked. This does not stop here, you also get to edit the photos and get as many copies as you want for free!! Other than this, there are other art masterpieces. I have enclosed the picture of the art that I liked the most. It's based on reflection phenomena!! Location: It's very near to the Lausanne Gare station and the Cantonal museum of fine arts. Hence, you can cover both the museums together.

The permanent photo exhibition is pretty engaging, along with the lab Elysee and the guest exhibits, you can spend good 2 -3 hours there.

Fantastic new building. Now much more space to show the extented collection and the frequently changed exhibitions. It is located on Plateform 10, where you can also visit an the mudac and the large art museum. A must in western Switzerland ! Plan at least a half day for the three.

Main attraction, as a group of 3 outstanding museums, named PLATEFORME 10. Not to be missed for the fantastic architecture of the buildings and their very interesting and frequently renewed content. The visit of only the world class Musée de la Photographie takes around 2 hours, as the MUDAC, slightly smaller, will distract the whole family for another hour. After a needed pause, you should also take the time to visit the MCBA or art museum, for its outstanding permanent collection and trendy exhibitions.

Very nice museum with varied, excellent photography. Well set up, and the building is beautiful as well. One point for improvement: Descriptions/stories on the wall are only in French. (The staff does speak English)

Fabulous photography collection on view with a thoughtful curatorial angle. Architecturally beautiful museum with large gallery rooms. Lovely librairie and café in the first floor. An afternoon well spent.

Visited the photography museum....most notable for its lack of ..... photographs. Not worth the time or money...the best bit, the searchable archives (see photos) could be done online and it's not like you could stand there all day looking at photos on TV screens, I mean why would you want to) Response to owner: Thank you for your reply and I am sure many other people will review fondly on the minimalist current exhibition. I appreciate that there are different tastes and levels of appreciation and perhaps regret the flippant tone of my review. I do hope that this feedback is considered for future exhibitions though. With best wishes.

Photography. Sometimes you like, sometimes you don't. Anyway this is one of the best photography museum in europa (or at least from the ones I've seen). Could not recommend enough. Even if you are not a fan of the photographer they are exposing at the moment it is still amazing. Just get there, you will not regret it.

The building was lovely and I went excitedly to go see a Degas. Unfortunately I found the collection to be quite unimpressive. The park, however, is nice and there is a cute cafe you can visit, with a lovely little terrace.

The old building of the Elysee was so charming and beautiful, overlooking the lake in the middle of a garden. The new building is such a disappointment, cold and without a soul, in they middle of a desert of concrete. To make it worse, they more than doubled the price, from 6 to 15 CHF. Such a shame, it was a beautiful museum before.

Always great exhibitions but this time it is the last one in this place. The museum will be moved to Plateforme 10 but will opened in 2022. Patience!
