Beautiful property and great service. The rooms are a bit dated, but the location and views trump to give this hotel 5 stars in my book. Would recommend and stay again.

The location of the hotel is really good, very good Italian restaurant downstairs but these are the only positive moments of my accommodation where I am staying now. The room type I had booked was ‘upgraded’ during my check in yesterday without asking my confirmation. However when I checked the room and asked to provide the room I had booked initially there was nothing available, the hotel was fully booked and I was told to accept what they gave me or pay more for a higher rate room. Moreover it was very impolite way of the communication from the staff saying I had to be happy with this upgrade which I simply did not ask for. I did not ask this upgrade and at least I should have had option to choose. The room itself is quite big but used-enough. The tap in the bathroom is working strangely so I can’t wash hands without putting water on my clothes. I would not give this hotel any 4 star for such experience, nothing client-oriented at all unfortunately.

This hotel is an absolute gem. Nominally four star, the physical infrastructure, service, and ambiance are five star. In fact, the hotel's sister properly, the next door Beau Rivage, is one of the world's top five star hotels, and you have signing privileges there and at the other sister property, the Chateau Couchy. You can therefore book a spa treatment at the Beau Rivage, which is highly recommended. There is a two star Michelin restaurant there as well. The Angleterre's own restaurant, L'Accademia, is the best Italian restaurant in Lausanne and is highly recommended. The hotel's location is perfect -- right in the fashionable Ouchy district by the lakeside and less than a five minute walk to the nearby metro station, which connects you to other parts of Lausanne, as well as the train station. If you are looking for leisure and relaxation in Lausanne in an elegant and upscale environment, you can do no better than the wonderful Angleterre. After all, if Lord Byron stayed here, why shouldn't you?

Overall, I was not impressed by this hotel, actually I was disappointed. The lobby was small and dark, and the rooms were poorly laid out. The furniture looked like it came from another era, and one of the lights next to the beds sent out sparks and abruptly went out. The charging port on the other side of the bed seemed to be loose, so the protective cover fell off as soon as I touched it, leaving the wires exposed. That is a huge hazard and the hotel should be aware of the safety of their guests. The pool was small and always crowded. The waiters and waitresses at breakfast seemed angry. You have to pay for the parking. This hotel is not worthy of 4 stars.

What was meant to be a nice weekend getaway was a disaster. Our room at Hotel Angleterre looked like it wasn’t renovated for years with holes in the curtains and chips on the wooden desk. There was barely a lake view but everyone had a nice view into our room. If we closed the blinds it felt like we were in a prison. No charm at all - despite the descriptions online. The hotel offered us a drink at Chateau d’Ouchy Bar to watch the fireworks - they were absolutely rude to us! The serveurs had no manners and were not helpful at all. We didn’t stay. The restaurant Accademia in the Hotel Angleterre was even worse considering they are part of the hotel. We had to argue to have the offered drink or even buy a dessert. The director also spoke to us very poorly. Again no manners at all. Surely one should treat hotel guests better. We left the hotel right away, without spending the night, not to be surrounded by such bad ambiance and energy. We will never recommend it to anyone. The receptionist did her best: hopefully she will transfer our dissatisfaction to management.

Elegant hotel in a great location on the waterfront. Within 2-3 minute walk of the Ouchy-Olympique metro station, which will get you to Lausanne-Gare (the SBB train station) in under 10 minutes. Excellent service and very comfortable rooms that feel luxurious. Very accommodating to English speakers.

Great location. Idyllic pool. Spacious room. A great complimentary mini bar. Great quality bikes provided by hotel allowed us to explore the beautiful area.

We absolutely loved our time at A&R and will be back for sure. The staff is very helpful and friendly; the view over the lake is spectacular; the junior suite was spacious and yet cozy; the pool is a joy (if you get it empty even more so), the breakfast on the waterfront was delicious (beware the devious sparrows); the dinner in L'Accademia was fabulous. I could imagine that some folks might be put off by the slightly tired furniture in the rooms but we didn't mind. The bed was super-comfy, as was the lounge area. I can't wait to return.

Was attending a course at IMD, less than ten minutes walk away so location was very convenient. Love the fact that umbrellas were made available for rainy days. Rooms were super comfortable with everything required for a relaxing stay. Had a massage that was arranged easily and conveniently too! Overall, happy to have chosen Angleterre & Residence!

The location of the hotel right on the lake is very good. In addition, the metro can be reached within a very short time. The rooms are spread across different buildings and, at least in our case, are relatively spacious and beautiful. The restaurant was disappointing. The breakfast is very expensive for the selection at the buffet and at lunch or dinner the staff was rather abrupt.

The location is perfect, right by the water and tasty restaurant. The staff is nice. A bit expensive but not too crazy. The room had a lot of low beams , we hurt our heads more than once.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Great location, clean rooms, perfect service and good prices. We highly recommend all guests to stay here.

Cool historic place but the room interior design concept is not suitable and will soon date and look tardy. The grounds look untidy. Get full time gardeners to create beautiful spaces within the grounds and pool area to suit the architecture and historical surroundings. Create some space in the Breakfast area by pushing out into the courtyard. The current space creates a tense atmosphere even for staff to work in. Cool place and understand that COVID must have been tough but I think it could do so much better.

The location was perfect - close to the Metro and the lake. The grounds and outside of the hotel are beautiful. The rooms are a bit small however ours had a nice view of the pool and lake. There are several areas that could use improvement: We had to carry our own luggage up the outside stairs. The room's air conditioner wasn't working so we called the front desk who reviewed the instructions to operate it which we had done correctly. She said someone would be sent up shortly to check. Over an hour later, someone came in only to verify we were correct in how to use the thermostat. We then had to wait 1 1/2 hours for someone else to come repair it. Once repaired it worked however we noticed an on-going noise every 20 seconds when on the High setting. Adjusting it to the middle setting took care of the sound. To end on a good note, the breakfast was wonderful and the serving staff were very helpful and friendly.

Another wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel right on the banks of Lac Leman. The staff are all lovely - friendly, professional and efficient. The rooms are gorgeous, the pool superb. Dinner at L’Academia was delicious.

Hotel Angleterre and its staff provided for an excellent experience during our stay in Lausanne. The room was excellent, as was the restaurant. The staff were attentive and helpful ranging in helping make reservations to local recommendations. The location is convenient right by the Ouch-Olympique stop of the M2. The hotel gym was my only disappointment, with limited and outdated equipment.

Excellent hotel. Great location and high quality room, facilities and cleaning services. The bed and pillow are super comfy to sleep. I stayed there every time in Lausanne.

We stayed here over the weekend and had a great time. The hotel has an excellent location, right on the lake and maybe not even a 5 minute walk to the subway. The staff is very competent, polite and professional. The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and attentive. We received a voucher for a Prosecco, which we enjoyed on the terrace of the Château Hotel (the two hotels work together). The suite was very spacious, elegant and had a beautiful garden with a small view of the lake. The pool was also very pleasant, very chic and inviting. Bravo. All in all a wonderful experience. We would like to come again!

    - The location is amazing: right on the lake, I had amazing view from my windows, the metro is 3 minutes walk away. The room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and I loved the linens. The bathroom had a shower and a tub, a huge win for me. The isolating windows make the room very quite. There are two sets of blinds to choose from The staff was really friendly and helpful. Amazing hotel, very recommended

Breathtaking lake view; friendly and helpful reception staff; mouthwatering breakfast (especially the made to order omelette)... And apparently, this is where Lord Byron wrote 'The Prisoner of Chillon'! It's just that the room used to get too hot at night.

I was so excited to stay at this hotel during the Montreux Jazz Festival. But my room was old and drab and not in any sort of good way. The room was big and the bathroom as huge but it looked like it hadn't been renovated since the 1970s. The rest of the hotel looked beautiful. And the restaurant was amazing. When I asked front desk to see if there was another room in the other building they said they would get back to me and no one ever did. I've been back to Lausanne twice now and sadly did not stay here again. Normally I take a ton of pictures and it speaks volumes that I didn't take even one here.

Lovely hotel opposite Lac Leman (Lake Leman). Clean room, kettle and selection of teas. There is also coffee. The mini bar is perfect if you fancy a warm up before stepping out or if you want to stay in. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was what you will expect from a 4 star. Outside you can take a gentle stroll or jog by the lac (Lake) Just ensure you book the restaurant L'accdamic attached to the hotel if want to eat especially on a Sunday otherwise you will not get a seat.

Great reception. Small hiccup when getting my initial room but front-desk was extremely friendly and helpful solving this. I'm sure that with the right communication the hotel can live up to its status and stars. Would always recommend.

👍 I’ve visit this place a couple of times and I’ve enjoyed each one of it. I always choose the same burger though. 7/10. The employees could smile a bit more maybe? I know it’s a hard job but well… smiling is free! I’ll be back 😌
