Very central location, bohemian aggregation of chairs and tables, great American food, Swiss prices. Well worth a visit

Very nice place to have a brunch, the food is delicious and the place is very nice, especially on the terrasse when the sun is shinning. Service is a bit slow but nothing too bad. It's my 3rd time there. I especially love the pancake and fried chicken, not common in Europe but very popular in the USA.

Great little cafe! Food was great and coffee was on point. I had the eggs and bacon on toast. Big portions and great taste. The granola was also very good. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a familiar breakfast.

The place has nice vibes (interior, people, sun through the big windows), but the service was very bad. At first I was sitting and waiting for my menu to be brought, but nobody was even bothering to bring it to me - I had to go to the bar and ask for it. No big deal. But then again - nobody came to take the order - even though the place was half empty (Monday 10am) and the same waitress was walking around with a mug in her hands sipping her tea or coffee not even paying attention to me. Waited 15min and then I went to the bar again and ask for my order to be taken. The food and coffee arrived quite quickly, the taste was good, I additionally ordered some orange juice. And the waiter again - forgot it! No juice, no service. And I thought it would be my new place for brunch in Lausanne, however, I wouldn’t come back this place just because of the service. How is that possible to forget the same customer 3 times in a same visit?? Dissapointed.

We were in Lausanne for the first time for the Diamond League race and had breakfast the morning after here. It’s a nice location, great vibe, super friendly staff and delicious food. You get nice morning sunlight at breakfast, too. It’s definitely a spot to visit when you’re in town. I had the Bondi which was avocado toast with eggs. And I had a cappuccino. Several with me had the breakfast burrito and were completely satiated.

Nice little restaurant in ideally located in the middle of Lausanne. The brunches are famous, but sadly one cannot enjoy something simpler in a Saturday morning. I would have just taken a pastry (croissant or else), but was told they do not serve pastry on weekends! That's quite a shame and simplier solution than a brunch are very limited. The place is crowded and you need to reserve on weekends. Otherwise, the ambiance is very relaxed and the food is good.

Food was good, lots of brunch items. However, service was slow and a bit surly, non-attentiveness in taking orders, food delivery, and lack of attention when plates were finished and ready to be cleared. Servers did not revisit the table to see if we needed more drinks, dessert, etc. Too bad, because is a cute place with good potential.

I am a regular here ever since my first lovely experience over a year ago! The staff are so nice and friendly, the vibe is relaxed and intimate snd the food is delicious! Great cappuccinos, pancakes and salads! Evenings cocktails and fried chicken are excellent too

I celebrated my birthday there with a small group of friends, it was awesome. Michel, the manger, was warm and welcoming, he took grate care of us. The tapas to share were on point and the drinks flavorful. Thank you Downtown team!

I went to Downtown for the afterwork with some colleagues on Thursday evening. The cocktails we picked were delicious and Raoul, the barman shared some of his tips and tricks on cocktails making! Great place, great people and perfect evening!

Great place for brunch. Tons of options for vegans and vegetarians. We got the avakado toast, quinoa salad, smoked salmon toast and pancakes. The pancake texture is very different from American pancakes and I definitely prefer their version of it. It's spongier and soaks up more sauce. Their coffee is one of the best in the area.

Really good pancakes, good coffee, good burgers, and I also like their avocado toast (bondi brekki?) with eggs. It's a pleasant cozy environment inside and they also have outdoors seating.

Very welcoming atmosphere and decor. Food was delicious too. Although, prices aren't great for the portion sizes. I wish the brunch menu was more than just the main dish (maybe a coffee). And, service was a bit slow on a late Friday morning, but it was busy.

The service at blackbird is really fantastic especially Sarah when my order unfortunately didn't go as planned. She quickly found a solution and made sure things were rectified. It's the Hallmark of great service when things don't go according to plan and finding a way to make the experience of the customer still good. So kudos :)!

I had mixed feelings about the service here. We were seated and waited at least 20 min before we could even make our order. My boyfriend had to get the attention of the waitress who walked by us many times without stopping to take our orders. When the food arrived it tasted good overall but my beans, sausage, and bacon were lukewarm. My boyfriend also noticed that some parts of his meal were a bit cold. The coffee has been good both times we went but I noticed that the presentation was not as good as the first time we went - the first time my coffee had a pretty latte swirl and this time it was all mixed up and not as pleasant looking. The service in the evening is faster than during the day. I think this place is great to grab a coffee and pastry in the afternoon but the brunch is not really worth the price.
