I had a great time at Mont Saint Michel this Christmas. December is a lovely time of year to go. It was so empty! The whole place was there for us to explore in the cool breeze with wonderful sea views from the highest points and no queues!

Part of Mont St Michel. Did not go in, but the view from the surrounding is astonishing.

Großartig im Meer gelegen. Abseits der Touristenströme wunderschöne Natur.

Architektonisch beeindruckend.

Did not go in by the building is beautiful with a nice archway underneath the main section. Great views to the sea surrounding the building and from under the archway.

👍 The church was founded in the 8th century by Saint Aubert, to serve as a burial place (on the south side of the church is the cemetery). From the Romanesque period, the church preserves in particular the pillars of the impost at the entrance of the choir. It is dedicated to St. Peter, also note that...

👍👍 Built in the 16th century by order of Gabriel du Puy, the Gabriel tower defended the west side of the Mount. Inside, protected by thick walls, the cannons, arranged on three floors, could fire in all directions through flared loopholes to the outside. This great bastion could have withstood a siege...

👍👍 Mont Saint Michel is an amazing place. You don't need tickets to enter the castle, but you will need to tickets to get to the top - the view is amazing and well worth it. There's also a current exhibition for the 1000 year anniversary. Plenty of steps, free toilets inside the exhibition area or you...
