One of the few places left in the city that uses charcoal instead of gas for Korean BBQ. Great cuts of meat, nice array of side dishes, and great service. It is located just off the intersection of Lincoln Avenue & California Avenue and, given its small size, you could blink and miss it. But if you manage to find it, the place is absolutely worthwhile.

This place has the best galbi tang! The bbq is grilled on top of charcoal. The side dishes were delicious! This place also has a small parking lot. I highly recommend.

Was in Chicago for only one day and my go-to Korean BBQ place is closed on Tuesday, so we thought I would give this place a try. It is a little quant place with cute decor. We were the only ones there when we arrived, as it was early for dinner. We ordered 2 orders of the GalBi and an order of the Spicy Rice Cake. The GalBi was very tender and flavorful, and highly recommended. My guest said the Spicy Rice Cake was very authentic, I thought it was pretty good; with egg, cabbage, and few other ingredients. All of the side dishes you get when ordering the BBQ we're also very good, with a nice variety. I do wish they had a little bit more of a selection of meats, possibly squid or shrimp. The waitress was very polite and helpful, but maybe a little too helpful. She continued to help us cook the meat on the grill, but at a much faster pace than what we were wanting to eat at. We like to take our time and enjoy the food and the experience, it just felt like she was rushing us.

We enjoyed our meal there but I have to say it’s quite expensive especially if you are meat lovers. I’m giving four stars only because it’s too expensive. We liked every dish we have. The Galbi is our favorite. The meat quality is one of the best we have had in Chicago. It’s really juicy and tender. The bibimbap and tofu soup are also really good.

the meats and side dishes were very tasty and authentic. We loved the dumplings and beef. The price for the amount of food is questionable. Very tight space, but the servers are welcoming. You do not cook the meats yourself

A little bit pricier than some of the other comparable korean restaurants, but the taste and the quality is well worth it. Not too salty, nor bland. Service is top notch and parking in the back for extra convenience! Definitely will be back when craving good soup

Good. A bit expensive. We got 2 appetizers and 3 BBQs for 5 people. Plus, 18% tip is added if party of 5 and more. It came up to around 60 bucks a person.

I enjoyed this restaurant. It took me right back to the small mom and pop restaurant business in Korea. All the staff was super friendly and welcoming. I hadn't had Korean food for awhile, so this experience was right on time.

Went for galbi and was not disappointed! Woo Chon is on the more expensive side but it tasted great! Ordered two servings for two, and it was a good amount for us - since we had also ordered cold noodles and bibimbap. It didn't seem too busy when we arrived so service was quick! Will definitely visit this place again!

The prices were more than they were online. The service was also a little lackluster. Another server that wasn't the one taking care of us came over and thought we'd want out chicken more cooked, so she burnt them. My wife, who wanted the chicken, was very upset it was burnt to bits by someone who wasn't even taking care of us. The food was good but we probably won't be back.

Been here a couple times now and have been happy with both experiences. The portions are decent for the price, and the meat and sides are great quality. Glad to have a nice charcoal BBQ around here.

a very cozy place, with a family atmosphere. the charcoal grill adds a layer of deliciousness you can't get with gas. the portions were great, too. we had 1 galbi, 1 sait sal and a large veggie pancake for 3 adults and it was plenty. very friendly service. definitely recommend!

The most “expensive” korean bbq I’ve ever had! Expensive in the way that the meat is only so few pieces for $40 worth of value!!!!! I will never come back, this is robbing. We have had dined at many other kbbq places in town, and We usually spent about $90-110 for korean bbq for 2 people. This one costs $120+ and we are surprised about the small amount of meat and the bad quality of pork belly.

Food was fantastic and the owner was a wonderful person. We had been wanting to try korean bbq and liked the ratings for this place, so we decided to go here. It was a 45 min drive with Chicago traffic, but well worth the time for the amazing food

Went here for my birthday, the food overall tasted good. Prices are a little high but understandable. Main concern is their ventilation system is poor/does not work. So when cooking the food, large amounts of smoke went straight into our face the whole time. Several people of our party had to step outside because it became so bad.

This is what authentic Korean food should taste like in Chicago, healthy, organic, fresh, and a well-balanced meal of entrees served with freshly made vegetarian side dishes. The Korean Naengmyun, a summer dish, is garnished with fresh ingredients, and the contrast between the chewy noodles and cold broth was quite refreshing. The overall service was good with side dishes being refilled when requested.
