We been to New Lanka Restaurant many times and previously given 4 star rating for food and customer service. However, since then service and food going down hill. * A few times we were given wrong food item * Poor customer service * When the shop is close no notice sign outside or voice mail saying they are closed. We wasted many hours traveling to and from to New Lanka * They don’t answer phone calls * Many occasions they took more than one hour to bring food to the table

Worst customer service and no one care to see how is your meal or if you need anything else. We ordered biriyani- the taste was just okay I feel only the spicy No taste at all, so I won't order this food anymore, when come to dosa I ordered 2 masala dosa- the first one wasn't crispy and doesn't look nice at all and the other one was okay, plain dosa, onion dosa taste good but the side dish wasn't enough especially the sambar. For my little ones they want to try Idly so we did ordered 2 plate for them they put chilly powder sprinkle all over we didn't know how they do it and also give zero information so we request to give different one without chilli sprinkle on the top but the lady refused to give and told that's their usual way to present the dish, How would I know if it's my first visit. So totally all the idlis got wasted. We didn't enjoy our dinner it wasnt pleasant feels like we were forced to eat because we paid for it. I wouldn't recommend if you are the one who like to have good customer service and nice environment while enjoying your food. Overall, I would say zero customer service.

Worst food we had in Brisbane and the 1st time we got stomach upset and throat pain. After seeing all good reviews, we decided to try this last week, had beef kothu and lamb curry with porotta. We asked medium spicy but everything was extremely spicy. Lamb curry was worst, overcooked hard lamb in red chilly water. No taste or flavour. We will never go there again. We mentioned about the spice level at the counter, just got a cold no care response. Other issues started next morning.

Very Bad customer service, the staff just doesn’t know how to have a smile and be accomodating. We Ordered over $70 of food and my son got his sushi box from next door and they wouldn’t allow him to eat there at all. Had to go out and eat in the car park. Unbelievable . Been there a few times, they always leave the lights turned off and it’s very dark inside. Don’t think they should be trying to save money there at least. 👎👎👎👎

I agree with many other reviewers about this restaurant serving one of the best Indian subcontinent tasty food. However, if you hit the restaurant during peak weekend timings where they have more online orders for delivery you will look like a fool sitting in the restaurant not getting anyone to take order nor accepting any items to be served. I feel you are better off served through Uber eats from the same restaurant than being in person. Nevertheless the staff members are nice humans but they can’t cope up with the pressure. Something for the management to look into.

The vadai combined with the coconut chutney is sooo good. Our family’s go to place when we crave South Indian food. The Dosas are good too.

The vegetable kothu could use more Sri Lankan flavours but was still DELICIOUS and I would definitely order again. Friendly service too

Decided to give them one more chance of getting it right. Unluckily pick up is a game of chance. I have ordered chicken mild and got beef hot. Twice I've received really spicy food when asking for mild. This time my wife said number 60 and tried to pronounce it, unfortunately I got a completely different one and my wife had egg kothu, which she asked for medium but it was hot. The reason they get two stars is that the food was tasty.😡

Bought goat curry! Give me half container when I ask them, they said this always like this. Don't even care when I show them. Not good customer service at all. This not even for one person to eat.

Amazing Indian cuisine with authentic flavors and warm ambiance. Friendly staff, timely service in a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

So fresh. Dhal and ulundu vadai were both amazing. Good spice level for medium in the cheese chicken kottu. The devil beef was a smaller portion than expected. The puri was also amazing. Very authentic tasting food.

New staff and the management is in zero quality. I used to go this place from their first day, food was good, fresh , but with the time being the very rude staff, poor customer service make me to stop going again to this restaurant. I made an order for chicken koththu 16 portions in the morning to collect it in the night, firstly they accepted, and then called me and cancelled the order. And asked me to collect it at 4pm about 10 , I agreed and went back to get the refund. They asked me to come back to get the refund. Once I went there the girl and the boy who act as a manager who had a big moustache scaled me very rudely and refund my full order like I did the fault. Still I am trying to understand what happened and the reason he was angry with me. I just asked him “ please do not talk to me like this” The owner of this shop begged a loan and invited me to open their second shop and then he was missing. I was lucky did not agree to give money. If you think to go to a restaurant this is Not the right place to go. Very bad customer service.

Enjoyed a late lunch with friends. Staff were very friendly. Meal came in good timing. Full off curry dishes. Price for meals were perfect for the sizes of meals. Between four people we broke 3 meals up and were happy with the out come.

4.5* came here based on a recommendation. Glad we did. Excellent kotthu roti. The dosa was also very good. The kids loved the mango lassi. The Sri Lanka rolls so far are the closest mutton rolls we have found here in Brisbane. But sadly still not mutton but chicken. Portions were decent sizes. Seemed to be very popular for pick up orders as well. Quite a lot of seating. Get the kotthu though.
