For all the reviewers saying Kingston Uni is their dream school, I wouldn’t get your hopes up. It was mine aswell, I am a second year law student who started during lockdown of 2020. I regret coming here. We have societies, but due to covid we have not had the opportunity to experience any formals, speeches, dinners or court trips (and the course overview states that we will be taking part in extracurricular activities but we have not as of yet) not have we had a freshers. First year: First year went okay, my class had some issues with professors but other than that we enjoyed the module topics. Second year: I do not know where to start. My professors have gone on strike pretty much every month since September 2021, all the while complaining we are not turning up for lectures because of these strikes. One thing to remember is that professors do not have to tel students they are striking so some students who live away from uni have to travel down for a class that isn’t even on. Currently, professors are on a ‘marking and assessment boycott’. Not totally sure what that means but sounds like they do not want to mark exams or assignments. I have had personal issues with the university aswell. I went abroad for a while and my laptop broke during security checks so I was unable to hand in my assignment. The uni requires evidence of this and I gave it to them and they have refused and ignored my emails about retaking the assignment and extensions. Recently, my mother has fallen ill and has been in hospital and needs to be taken care of, and I have been helping care for her. We have an upcoming module that will take place on campus for 3hrs 3 days a week. Me and my class members have asked for it to be online like our other modules but the uni has refused this and told me to do an internship. Legal internships are like gold dust and very hard to get and if I do not do either then I will fail my second year. I think the easiest thing to do is to do online lectures for a module that is not part of our degree so I can care for my sick mother. I try to enjoy my experience here but I just can’t seem to. I hope my experience so far can help with expectations because I had high hopes and I am left disappointed with my choices. Whoever does choose Kingston, I hope you have a much better experience.

Kingston is the worst school for international students, they are not friendly, to students from Abroad, any issues of delay of school payment they are already sending you emails telling you they will report you to the immigration officers. Sending you emails they will send you back home . There are many other schools in uk that are friendly to international students don’t waste your money on Kingston.

Lots of rubbish being spouted on here - from what I’ve experienced at the Head Start program, it has been outstanding. I’ve visited open days at other unis and I can tell you this is the best I’ve seen. The support here is OUTSTANDING. Heard it from many people and I’m sure it will be no different. Staff are friendly, I can tell that the students really enjoy studying here, the campuses are great. KSA is a bit small but I feel like that’s the charm of it. I visited central st martins and although the staff were friendly like Kingston, I found it to be too big and too chaotic. Bigger isn’t always better. Lots of the negative reviews seem to be either because their application was rejected or because of covid related stuff like lecture cancellations and the covid chaos that literally affected everyone in every single area of life 😐 so in short, these reviews are extremely inaccurate, from my experience. Definitely apply, recommend this university

Inconvenient and unsatisfactory university experience. I had applied for a 3 year BSc with a foundation year in computer science in year 13 (2021) and when the time had come to start in September, they had placed me straight into first year. Due to my lack of experience with the subject and hands-on lecturers who could actually help students learn instead of just telling them they need to pass, two modules had to be repeated. I had also experienced Covid-19 in January 2022 and had applied for mitigating circumstances but this was denied. During this repeated year I had applied to study abroad for the second year and of course this wasn’t approved. Be aware of the lack of parking at the Penrhyn Road campus. I hope whoever enrols here will have a much better experience than I did.

Avoid this university at all costs. Kingston is a nice place but the uni is a joke. The student well-being team never helped me when I experienced bullying. Instead, they just kept gaslighting me into making me feel like I was always the guilty one when I clearly gave them enough evidence to show that I was a victim of cyber bullying. They even stopped me from being able to study abroad because they were concerned about my “recent behaviour” which was absolutely disgraceful and completely against my human rights. Absolute joke! The only ones I’m thankful for to this day are the BSc earth and environmental sciences lecturers for making my experience bearable and making student life as easy as possible despite all the troubles I had to go through. If you can pick alternative unis then do so with immediate effect

There are lots of overly bitter reviews written here about KU, mostly by people who were not granted admission (definitely nothing to do with the strength [or lack thereof] of their application...right??). In terms of atmosphere and culture, Kingston is orders of magnitude better than the hive of scum and villainy that is King's College London - which was, and probably still is, a truly vile place to study. Sadly, loses a star for rampant, inane bureaucracy

Very unhelpful, Rude and arrogant lecturers, very disorganised modules. Their phones still have the “staff are working at home due to pandemic therefore can not answer your call and do not leave a voicemail, send us an email”. They ignore the emails and always on strike. But don’t care about commuting students who waste their money attending lectures where they tell you that the lecturer won’t turn up. How is this trash of a university in the top 40 rank?

I had a negative experience taking a short course at Kingston university. I had read about their short course program on portfolio development attended the course spending £600 I invested to develop my portfolio however the course was complete rubbish. There wasn't a portfolio at all but scribbles of silhouettes, at the end the university did not even give me a certificate for attending the course but gave me a complete loss of £600. I emailed the university for the certificate but they wouldn't revert back on email.

Worst experience ever. I did my master course in here. I had never had any experience as bad as this. Firstly the department staff are very unhelpful, never reply to any email. U need to wait at least 2 weeks for a person to resolve your problem even if it’s urgent. Secondly there are 200 students in my course with only one professor to entertain everyone. Every class is just chaotic, full of students and lack of support. Can never find a person to answer my questions related to class. Thirdly, if you are looking for career support. Sorry it’s the wrong place. There’s no internship opportunities. There is not enough support. Please THINK TWICE before enrolling to here!

Many of my school friends picked to study at Kingston university, now job prospect wise it doesn’t seem like they’re doing too well, the university doesn’t have strong industry links therefore they don’t really prepare you well for live after university, look into better universities around london. Only one thing I liked about Kingston were the night outs I used to have at PRYZM with my mates. Stay safe students and don’t do drugs

1 star because I have to put something, it would be zero if it was allowed. I am a UK resident who do not hold a British passport, I applied for a Master course from the Kingston University for my career development, I feel they simply looked at my nationality and were emailing me fee information for oversea students, check list for oversea students etc. I emailed them to ask why would I be charged as an oversea student when I was a resident who work here, of course they did not reply. So I called the office, and the answer they gave to me was that once I have accepted the offer, I would go through a fee assessment process, after which they would decide what fee I should pay, and in my case it would be the home student fee. This process was not mentioned anywhere in any emails they sent to me. I was not going to accept the offer as they were indicating that I should pay oversea student fee in all their emails. So I won't even reach to that 'fee assessment'! I am shocked and disappointed about how badly things are organised with them and how they treated the application.

The university library is great with free wifi access to all students enrolled in campus and those enrolled at the nearby colleges. There are several Costa coffee cafes and one university cafeteria with good food options. The staff is very helpful.

I called at 12:30 on the 8th of March 2022 to report a lost object by giving the exact place and time of the loss. The secretary didn’t want to even look for it or ask one of the staff to go and check if the object was still there and told me that she couldn’t help. I will probably never see it anymore.

Gave me a final offer letter, I paid fees and applied for CAS. They denied issuing CAS because seats are full. Totally Rubbish college. Try to get CAS ASAP before 2 weeks of deadline. Else It would take 6months to get refund.

One of my cousin's experience with Kingston's CAS team has been very pathetic. I have personally monitored how the CAS management team handled queries or follow ups. My cousin has been through a great trauma for several months. Either they scrap the uploaded documents from the OSIS or sit on them until the evidences become invalid. Suggested that the Senior Leadership Team of Kingston should wake up and do necessary cleanups to eliminate unproductive people who are especially handling new enrolments or else all your academic excellence will go for a toss.

I applied for the PhD by publication and was rejected but I intend to apply again. My number of publications has increased since being rejected. I also have partnered with an educational nonprofit to boost my academic credibility.

Just plain blood sucking parasites and no more. There is no comparison between what they charge and for the completely useless educational services they're providing.

Avoid this Uni at all costs. They are so slow in giving me CAS that they run out of time and emailed me like its my fault and offering me a slot in their next intake. I wasted my time and opportunity in Sep intake because of them. I had offers from many universities I regret that i chose them. I have seen many students complaining about this in their webinar chatroom looks like this uni gives no regard to their student. They had 1 and a half month to process my CAS if they cant its very obvious their staff is lazzy and not working.

am writing to you regarding an urgent matter concerning my visa status and the application for the Post-Study Work (PSW) visa. I joined the university during the March 2020 intake, and unfortunately, I failed one module. As a result, I was provided with a retake option through the Canvas platform. Consequently, I did not apply for mitigation since I had the retake option available. However, after 10 days, I received an email requesting a payment of £5000 for the retake. This confused me as I was under the impression that the retake option in Canvas would suffice. With the assistance of Sofi Martin from student union , I submitted a late mitigation application, which was subsequently rejected twice. I then proceeded to file two appeals, which unfortunately met the same fate. The university informed me that I would be given the opportunity to retake the module if I returned to India. Following their advice, I traveled to India and subsequently returned on a visitor visa, as instructed by the university. I specifically inquired about the possibility of applying for the PSW visa, to which the university assured me that I could apply for it once I received my results, as depicted in the attached image. I submitted my module in September 18th 2023 and the results are scheduled to be released on November 16th 2023 . However, my visitor visa is set to expire on October 20th, leaving me uncertain about how to proceed with the PSW application. I am currently experiencing significant mental stress as a result of this situation. I had paid a total of £19,100 in tuition fees with the intention of completing my master's degree and seeking employment under the PSW visa. Now, I find myself without any viable options. Moreover, I discovered that my course is scheduled until January 2024, as indicated in OSIS. I am at a loss as to why I was issued a visitor visa instead of a student visa, especially considering that I have fulfilled my financial obligations and that I relied on the information provided by the college. When I approached the CAS team for clarification, I received incorrect information from the university.
