Edit, 10.2.2023: It is impossible to get anything other than a 8 min phone call at this practice. After having a fever that is not going down, sore throat, cough and vomiting for 4 days, I asked the GP that called me on the phone if could I be seen and have a blood test. She responded that I would have to have a sore throat for 3 weeks in order to get a blood test and, even if I have meningitis, which she feels is unlikely, she doesn't deal with that and I should go to A&E if I develop a rash or start vomiting non-stop. Very helpful indeed! She also addressed me and my worries in a very arrogant manner. The doctor didn't know what my appointment was about, although I filled in a very extensive eConsult questionnaire prior to my visit, and quite rudely asked me if I knew why I was there. They also didn't have my files from Urgent Care at the hospital I attended more than 10 days before due to the same health issue. They didn't let me tell them about all the health problems I have and said I should book another appointment (which is not easy at all). Also, it really doesn't make any sense as the problems might be connected, and it is more convenient for both the patient and the practice to handle it during one session. The receptionists are slightly hostile, except the guy, I think his name is Will, who is really polite and professional.

The booking system is an utter mess. Couldn't get appointment by phone - they said it's be website form only (surely not true, ppl without internet surely can make appointments) - web form is tedious and I had to tone down the seriousness in order to submit it as the first attempt resulted in it telling me to phone for an appointment. Ended up calling 111, who have logged a complaint ("concern") about the GP as they couldn't get through to them, and then directed me to go to A&E instead because they couldn't get any progress with the GP either.

I agreed with other reviewers: this service is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE! Not anymore! I’m patient at the clinic for a very long time and I can certainly say, at present it has a Kafkaesque administration. Perhaps doctors are okay, I’m not sure as it’s almost impossible to have an appointment, to see them. One of my children (a minor) is waiting for an appointment to see a doctor or a nurse since March! Appointments gets cancelled, booked phone calls cancelled or even worst, you’ll never received these! When you are contacting the clinic back, you are receiving rude and patronising answers. They forgot the basic that perhaps patients are vulnerable people looking for medical support. I pay taxes for a service that doesn’t serve me or my children at all! Shame on them!

Unfortunately I felt the need to write a negative review so that hopefully the service and management of this practice can be fully reviewed. Although I though this practice couldn't become any worse it has really entered the 'not fit for purpose' category. After being told they still don't have face to face appointments with the GP I completed yet another eConsult form, the GP did call back, a call that lasted about 4 seconds which I missed. There wasn't another call back just a message to call the reception. Upon calling I was informed I was 18th in the queue. For those of us who have jobs that don't allow us to answer calls immediately it ultimately means that we have little or no access to these services when they are managed so ineffectively.

The GPs are fine but there’s at least one incredibly rude and aggressive receptionist that refuses to help book appointments over the phone (which I have done before). Go to another surgery if you can and be treated with respect and compassion.

Visited the surgery at 12:40 to find out what had happened to my prescription review. The receptionist came towards me and said "sorry we're closed sorry we're closed". which is annoying because this is a cut and paste from their practice's Google listing: Thursday 7 am–5:30 pm Last week I phoned to find out what had happened to my prescription, put on hold for 25 minutes a d then the phone wen dead. I'm going g to find a more competent practice, this one is terrible.

Terrible service, the actual GPs are lovely but the service provided and receptionist are a nightmare. Tried to get an appointment regarding worries around my pregnancy and was fobbed off to an emergency doctor with no follow up. Ended up losing the baby. Managed to get signed off for some blood tests but was given a telephone appointment to discuss my results a whole month later - the emergency doctor who called seemed to be in a rush and didn’t explain my results clearly - unfortunately I miscarried a few days later. Managed to get a face to face appointment (these are like gold dust) to discuss my fertility but it was another one month wait only to turn up on the day and be told, by the extremely rude & unhelpful receptionist, I can’t be seen as there is no appointment ‘my appointment was booked in error or was a glitch’ new appointment is two weeks later….

My daughter has cut her chin open and needs urgent medical assistance. We've been on hold for 20 minutes and no one is picking up the phone. It looks like we will have to go to A&E which is a ridiculous waste of time and resources for everyone.

This place is clearly overwhelmed by the demand. I had to wait 52 minutes until someone finally was able to answer my call. In a effort to deluge the demand you are advised to fill a e-consult form (111 NHS online), but even that service is having serious issues. The only thing they are able to do for me is repeating my prescription. Sad to say this, but this practice is completely broken.

The doctors have been great the receptionist on the other hand is just rude . I work for the nhs myself and if I spoke to people the way she does . I would be reprimanded. She rang to tell me my results weren’t back and spoke to me in the most condescending patronisingly unprofessional manner . I was left speechless . I didn’t catch her name as she didn’t give it . I’m pretty sure she doesn’t wear a name badge either . If she is not happy in her career and lacks basic human compassion or even empathy she should retire .

I would go somewhere else for help. Their econsult system does not work and they will not try to reach out to you. The practice recommends using their econsult form on their website. Once you fill that out they will contact you before the end of the next day. I waited 2 extra days, figuring that they were very busy. After no contact for 4 days I used the option to alert the practice that my form may have been missed. After no contact the next day either I alerted them again. It had been 6 days of no contact so I decided to phone them rather than use the form - the practice was closed. I called them again 7 days after first submitting their econsult form to be told that my number was missing from my patient profile. My number was entered in the form that I submitted, but I was told that those aren't checked for contact numbers. Why they did not email me, since they say - claim, I suppose - that they will contact you by email, text message or phone call - I do not know. How my phone number was missing from my patient profile is also unknown to me, since I registered in person and handed my, now apparently, incomplete registration form to a receptionist who checked and accepted it. I did not believe the other negative reviews to be true - they are. I would recommend finding a different practice.

I no longer have any confidence in this surgery. The e consult is a nightmare...fill in the ridiculous form..says you need to contact the surgery...my call is very important to them but nobody picks up the phone. I understand that they "care" for 17,000 people...not very well.

The Burney Street Practice is absolutely appalling. It might as well be closed down. When I or any member of my family has desperately needed an appointment it has been absolutely impossible to get one. I have already lost one member of my family as a result. Today I have tried to get an appointment. It seems I cannot email the practice. I cannot ask for an appointment online without first taking two forms of identification to Greenwich. I telephoned and waited an age until it was my turn in the queue at which point the line went dead. Please just shut this place down and open a proper, caring, efficient Doctors' surgery.

Totally useless and incompetent. I asked them to be seen or at least doctor to call me because I have badly injured my ribs and need some proper painkilleres. Nothing! Because I had a phoncall booked for a next day to review some non related test results. By the order of the duty doctor Miren Davies.

Big data breach - my address was changed without my consent or without them checking anything. Poor experience with a female GP who was very rude over the phone while I was trying to find out how this happened. Also had a very negative experience to discuss a recent visit. No interest taken in past history or the concerns that the patients express. Interrupts when patient is talking (must be a regular NHS behaviour all trait) and hung up the phone after basically reading out what I already knew. Appalling service, I will be making a formal complaint. Aim of the review is to inform all prospective patients to NOT register at this practice!

Really poor experience with a GP I've been signed up with for almost 30 years. Made to wait 45 mins to be seen but if I'm late I risk being deregistered. Since management changed the whole practice has gone downhill. Really really sad as it used to be such a lovely practice.

Before it was just the admin staff that was bad (especially at Burney street) Now majority of the good doctors have left, this place is terrible. How it’s still running Is beyond a joke. If you care about your health look for a better surgey. Not checking things properly, giving out wrong prescription, ages to process basic documents. It’s terrible.

Booked cervical screening appointment a month or so before. Arrived early, receptionists were lovely,, appointment was a little late but nothing unexpected (only fault which prevents this from being five star), was seen by a wonderful nurse (Caroline) who explained everything clearly and thoughtfully. Wanted to take the time to write this review as I was shocked by the number of poor reviews for this practice and want to slightly tip the scales!

This place does not even deserve one star. I have been chasing up pain meds I need since April. They've said they will send my prescription to a pharmacy and have failed to do so on three occasions. On top of that, I made complaints twice and was ignored both times despite a legal requirement on the GP to respond to complaints. UPDATE: i contacted this GP five times, 3 times to ask for my pain med prescription and twice to complain. No response at all to this day. Today i asked them to deregister me, they responded within an hour saying this was done. So, they're able to deregister you promptly but when it comes to medical issues and serious complaints, they will act blind LOL.

Agreed with all other 1 star reviews - This GP doesn't fit for purpose at all. The only advice given by the incompetent doctor we met was "go to A&E if you are worried, they're trained for that". NHS can surely make better use of its resources than keeping this GP. Not to mention all the troubles of booking an appointment there and the extension wait time even when we arrived on time.

Avoid this surgery at all cost if you can. This is not the usual clinic we go to, but offered an appointment here for my baby about his skin problem. First is a 40min wait in a stuffy waiting area. Then the advice we received from the GP is "you can bring your baby to A&E for check up by paediatrian to get advice and assurance". I can't imagine GP is not helping but giving more pressure to emergency service. It is true that spending time waiting in A&E would bring more value than attending an appointment in this surgery.

Very happy with the e-consult services, especially for my baby, I usually get a response or an appointment on the same day (if urgent)

I want to take the time to leave a review as I can only see that unhappy patients are making the effort to share their feedback. I have 2 little girls and I ALWAYS get an appointment within 24hours. Doctors and receptionists are always extremely nice and go the extra mile to help if I am attending an appointment on my own. Today both girls had to have a jab and the receptionist offered to help. She came in the room with me, held and cuddle one of the girls and made all the process effortless. Just follow the procedure: submit the bloody online e-consult form if you need to speak to a doctor and stop call the reception for an appointment! It’s that simple. 5 starts for me!

The most incompetent practice I have ever came across. They are unable to check reports being sent from other professionals and give the wrong medications. When you call back they haven’t a clue what you are trying to explain to them and they don’t listen.

I think it is pretty poor to tell patients to go and sit in A&E for what could possibly be four hours when they could be seen by a doctor locally. However, when you get to see a doctor they are very good. So 5 stars to the doctors there.

I cannot fault Burney Street Practice. Yes the E Consult is long winded, but once it’s done a GP contacts me within a day or two, sometimes within a few hours of submission. They have offered me a same day appointment if they’ve deemed it necessary or written a prescription for medication if needed. The receptionists are extremely friendly. I had a bad experience on one occasion during a very distressing time, but that was dealt with very swiftly. All in all I’m extremely satisfied with the quality of service I have received from the doctors and the supporting members of staff.

I've been using this practice for the past few months now, and found it great in pretty much everything. The ladies at the entrance are nice, the doctors also very good in my opinion. Five stars!

My partner and I visited the Burney Street Surgery today and we experienced great customer care/service. We were helped by Julie and Betti who were both wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable. Julie went above and beyond to guide us the support we needed. Overall lovely experience. Thank you Burney Street Team!

The clinician I spoke to over the phone was fairly rude and patronising. I wanted to enquire about PGD testing for an X-linked disorder and wanted to be referred to a genetic counselor- what should have been a fairly simple process. The lady was not very knowledgeable, was patronising and dismissive. Disappointing!

  • 1/5 Littles and K. 2 years ago on Google
Julie and her colleagues are all the same, patronising, rude, condescending and makes up lies so her colleagues hear why she hangs up. She also said she knew who i was which was totally discriminatory. I have raised this as a complaint with the CQC and the ombudsman since they have not responded to my direct complaint. receptionists are too rude. beyond shocked on how they even have a 'GOOD' rating on CQC. Cannot get an appoint for another month which is totally absurd. guys, NHS is not free, we pay taxes!!!! Burney Street, you need to train your staff or hire new ones, because i am not the first to say the receptionists are RUDE!
