This used to be the ER of choice for me, but after what I have just experienced I will gladly take my business elsewhere. They not only left me sitting in the lobby for 4hrs, but after 10hrs they send me home with a recommendation to make an appt with my neurologist as soon as possible... This was after the lies about what test they were doing, disrespected me and my intelligence, and left me sitting there for 3 hours crying in pain, but all I was given was a breathing treatment and a bag of fluids when I came in with painful contractions of my legs, arms, chest and upper back... My starting Vitals were Pulse OC 114 & BP of 150/82, and my ending vitals were pulse bouncing between 120-130 & BP of 151/86 at the highest it was 158/84... But the doctors though it a good idea to do nothing after all of that... really? If I stroke out tonight... I have proof you faked your ending vitals! I also took a picture of the information board that no one ever filled out, so I have to wait till Monday to call Renee the supervisor because they say they don't have complaint forms... I'm still in pain and still have a fast heart rate...

July 2021. Went to ER with severe upper abdominal pain. Waited 13 hrs. to be seen. Was ready to call it quits when I was called into triage room. Once seen by dr. It went very fast. Was immediately given pain meds, sent for cat scan and told I needed gallbladder surgery, scheduled 4 hrs later. 3 days later I went home. Many others were waiting 6-10 hrs. Some with heart probs. The 2 stars meant for ER waiting time. Doc/nurses rated 5 stars. Hope not to need ER care again during pandemic. GET VACCINATED ๐Ÿ˜ท

Been here twice in one month for blood clots in my lungs and legs. Sitting in this ER for 6 hours is a joke. Once you get placed in a room the staff is great but getting there is a joke. They need to address the reason why people have to wait so long and hope you donโ€™t die waiting

I just wanted to point out that ER visits are not normally a fun or quick experience. I noticed there are a lot of 1 star reviews on here based on how โ€œslowโ€ the ER is. I will admit, during my visit today, the wait time was quite long. But thatโ€™s not necessarily a reason to give this ER a bad review. Patients who are taken back are based on severity, and I think a lot of people donโ€™t keep that in mind and lose patience during such uncomfortable times. However, this staff is outstanding! Once I was put into a room, the nurses, nurse practitioner and doctor all understood I was in kind of a time crunch. Iโ€™m a single mom and newly live in this state without family. I needed to be out at a specific time in order to pick up my two kids from daycare, and they all went above and beyond to ensure I was well taken care of and out when I needed to go. They didnโ€™t necessarily have to rush all of my exams and procedures, but they did and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I canโ€™t thank them enough for accommodating me and making my health a priority. This staff goes above and beyond, and I was really impressed by them all- from the ER tech up to the doctor, they were all knowledgeable and had great bedside manner. Ignore the bad reviews and give them a chance!

Unfortunately I had to visit them for an emergency, but I am very thankful for nurse Nancy treating my injury! She really is a great nurse and one that I can only wish that I could've always had throughout my life, knowledge and empathy! She was very knowledgeable and knew of a medication to work on people like me, I have grown throughout my life and this was the ONLY time that I wasn't in total agony while being sutured! For anyone that doesn't numb with the standard lidocaine, she knew about another type that is called "Sensorcaine", it's a mix that really made the difference! I can't believe I have had to suffer throughout my 57 years because doctors didn't believe me when I told them that I don't numb easily or enough! May God bless you nurse Nancy for your compassion and knowledge! Sincere and absolute gratitude from me! A 5 Star experience of care! Dave

(Itโ€™s 12:20 a.m) This review is for the couple who was sitting beside me in the emergency room. They were here before I arrived. (5:00 p.m.) They left. Come to find out, she was having chest pains. They had been in this emergency room since 5:00 p.m. They both left the emergency room, with her crying, and were going to another hospital. I blessed them and will pray that she gets the help she deserves because she sure did not get it at Norton Audubon Hospital.

I arrived at 1030 am. I was seen promptly. Triage was excellent. I waited to be seen by a Dr for acute injury to my back. Excruciating pain caused by something I had done the previous day. As background, I have had chronic back pain for more than 5 yrs. My GP has treated me with 4mg capsules and Methocarbamol 500m tablets. When the Dr came in, she was very rude. She asked a few questions and abruptly cut off my responses. She was a NP whose name was not worthy of remembering. She was in the room with me no more than 2 minutes. She did not examine me, only lifted the back of my shirt and glanced briefly at my lower back. She dictated that all I needed was steroids. No poking, prodding, or any thorough examination. Certainly, no x-rays. I am 62 yrs old and have never been treated so shamefully by one who claims to be a medical professional. Audubon should be ashamed to have this person on their staff. I certainly will not return to Audubon ER again.

Since they deleted my last review, we are going to do another one. The last time I was here on January 13, 2022, I sat in the lobby for 19 hrs around other people, before being diagnosed with COVID, before they even tested me for it, before they even ran ANY tests on me period. Now it is Jan 31st and I've been sitting in the lobby again for 19 hours. Been here since 10:30am on Jan 30th and the only thing they've done is put an IV line in my arm. And when I ask when will I be going back, the staff members answer with the nastiest attitudes. This is ridiculous. Thought they were here to help us. Guess that wasn't in the oath they took. This hospital is a joke. You can guarantee I will not be back. Update: finally got called back at 5:30 am on the 31st... Beyond ridiculous... This is cruel.

If you arrive at the emergency room and it's the least little bit crowded, leave and go somewhere else! Wait is too long. The greeter was very rude and insensitive. She did not like answering questions and at one time announced to people waiting that if they needed a warm blanket to raise their hands now because she was not going to make 6 trips. Dont wait until she gets back and decide you'd like one.

I went after work got there about 5 a.m, I was having shortness of breathe, I have asthma but my breathing treatment wasnt giving me long term relief so my Dr suggested I go get some lab work & a chest xray. I immediately got my vitals taken, EKG, and put in a room. Once in the room blood work was done, then Xray came, nxt Dr who listened to my lungs. She ordered a steroid shot & breathing treatment. Another Dr came in talked to me about my Xray which was clear ordered another test which didn't take long to get back again Nothing... I was in & out in abt 3 hrs... All Nurses & Drs from the time I walked in the door were very nice. I got a prescription for something that should help my asthma with this crazy weather. Thanks so much for listening and not just sending me out the door thinking my symptoms were just in my head!

Do not go to this hospital. They are a joke. Making someone that is pain and having episodes and not know what is wrong wait 9 hours and counting is ridiculous. The nurses are rude and could care less about their patients.

Worst experience ever. Made felt like my pain and discomfort meant nothing to them. Here I am 3 hours later and have not been treated for a single symptom.. I haven't ate in three days because it's extremely painful to swallow. I tell them how dizzy and lethargic I am because of this. Still nothing is done. Dude has came and left and treated for his foot. Just a minor limp. But he gets care before I Dom

Don't get me wrong. Friendly staff and people but ridiculously slow when going to the patients to tell them what's wrong and/or results.
