Disappointed to be honest, I've heard good things and It was just an ok dinner. The service was good but we felt the food quality wasn't really worth the prices. All my friends said they'd had cheaper and better food in Galway. I will go again as I've heard good things and so it may have just been a bad day. Quite disappointed in my steak as it was pretty dry. At the moment I will mark "ok" but will edit when I return if something changes.

The steak was very good with the pepper sauce. Inside is amazing and is like a labyrinth with lots of little rooms. My girlfriend got the chicken and leek pie wasn’t very good. But we all loved the steaks

Delicious fillet steak. Cheesecake 😍 highly recommended 👌. It's a big climb up many stairs to the top of the building.however there is plenty of seating from the ground up.(The staff must keep very fit dealing with these everyday. 🏋‍♂️🏋‍♀️🏋. ) Dave looked after us very well indeed. 🥳❤️

This is an absolute find in Galway. I’ve eaten in nearly every half decent restaurant, and this is a genuine good spot of a rabbit warren. Service is great, food is exceptional. There’s a good range on the menu. It’s really quite novel having a tree and a boat squeezed into this venue & really adds to the atmosphere.

The food was delicious. Mussels could of used a bit of bread or spoon so you could really taste the juices. Burger was moist and brownie was perfect. Highly recommend

We were seated at a very small table which is fine but it definitely felt like we were forgotten about several times. Our soup came out and then the main meal 1 min later. There was literally no place for the food to go so the server took it back to the kitchen. We finished the soup and then waited a long time... eventually asking about the dinner. Dinner had obviously been kept waiting as the food was mostly overcooked by the time it arrived. *The seafood chowder was delicious but everything else was only average or below average. Probably because the servers kept it in the kitchen under lights for so long? The fish plate was meant to be cold but it was really nothing special at all. *The burger meat was so overcooked that we weren't sure if it was really beef! Tasted like a fake/vegan patty. Yuck. Overall, an expensive and very disappointing meal.

Delicious food and a place that we did not expect to be so welcoming. Definitely recommended. The food was exquisite and the staff was very good.

We absolutely loved the Hake fish and chips here. The staff was so friendly and they poured the perfect Guinness. Also enjoyed the Christmas decorations.

When you travel the world, you learn to trust the restaurant owners .. when they recommend the roast you'll be wise to listen. Outstanding meal followed by an equally enjoyable dessert. Bon appetite!

Amazing establishment to visit in Galway city centre. We enjoy beautiful food and cocktails here. The staff couldn't have been any nicer. I look forward to returning when I visit Galway again.

Very nice restaurant. We showed up during prime hours without reservations and they found seating for us. We had to wait in the small bar for 15 minutes and the bar tender was very attentive while busy. The atmosphere is very nice and the menu even better. It may be a little pricely but no unreasonable. Good wine available for pairings.

Holy moly the food here is phenomenal. We went for lunch on Sunday and got a $23 steak with side of subbed mash tatos. Absolutely delicious! The oysters are also very fresh and good. Comes with a tangy mignonette that I ate with everything. Highly recommend!!!

This is my second time to visit McSwiggins and I have to admit I was left fairly disappointed this time round. (My first visit a few years ago was extremely good in comparison) and would just described it as an ok meal but nothing more. Firstly it was a really hot weekend, and our table area was extremely stuffy and warm with very little to no air con at our table area. I ordered the 8oz dry aged fillet medium well as my main course. The plate was extremely bare (As you will see from my photo) and it was only the steak, a side portion of chips and "one" small skinny carrot on top of a puree sauce and choice of other sauce. There was no other garnish or sides included and these all had to be ordered separately which would leave the meal extremely expensive. (Onions, mushrooms etc) Plus they don't serve french fried onions on the menu which also was disappointing.) We weren't even provided with a steak knife which made it harder to cut through the steak. The steak itself was tender enough but mine was also very unevenly cooked. It was well done one side, medium on the other and actually left very rare/blue on another portion of the steak to my dismay. Because I was with friends I didn't want to make or cause any awkwardness/scene about sending back my meal but I wasn't overly happy with it. The waiter was nice but it did take some time to get someone's attention certain times over our meal. Overall for a €35 steak I was not that happy and felt quite let down by the experience. I must admit I would be a bit apprehensive to go back again after my latest experience.

Superb food in a nicely appointed restaurant. Attentive staff. I had the muscles, which were delicious and cooked just right. My wife's fish and chips were "the best I've ever had"

This place was amazing! We came because we were just walking around and really wanted some oysters! So behold!! We came inside, and it was super cute, greeted, and sat right away. I ordered the chicken and vegetables pie, and it was the best pot pie i ever had! Must have the Banoffee (not sure how to spell it) but it was the best banana dessert I've ever had!

Wow… what a find, this is a restaurant that captures your culinary tastebuds and tantalises your visual curiosity as well. The restaurant has 3 levels, wonderfully decorated, which compliments the presentation of the food. Every glance in a different direction provides you with another surprise.

Very nice pub with an upper restaurant! The middle section with the dried tree is actually super cool! The meat was a little overcooked

Restaurant spread over multiple floors which makes it very charming. It can be quite warm, so dress for a hot summer night ;-) . Food, in particular the meat, is very good. It's definitely a place I'd visit again.

Lamp stew is absolutely delicious, and sirloin is also well cooked with french fries. We ordered salmon as our light bites, which is not so good compared to the lamb stew and the beef sirloin. Highly recommended for people who have never been to Galway to enjoy the old Irish bar like restaurant. They also serve formal dinner courses.

Nice Steak & Seafood Restaurant. The starter board with comes irish regional cheese and proscioutto crudo - better choice than the fried calamari. As mains we had the Sirloin steak and lamb stew, both we're good quality and well prepared, the pepper sauce which comes with the steak was perfect. The service was friendly and spoke German as well. Delicious evening as it should be.

Dinner was divine! We first asked our waiter if we could have a wee taste of the 3 kinds of red wine by the glass so we could choose the one we liked best. Not something he’d probably ever been asked before but without hesitation brought 4 different glasses with enough wine for us both to do a proper wine tasting!! We chose the cab sauv from Chile to go with the delicious lamb rump. Wow! It was tender & perfectly cooked!! No room for dessert but now having read other reviews wish we could go back.

(Translated by Google) The fish and chips is crazy, I recommend! A bit expensive but it is not stolen at all! (Original) Le fish and chips est dingue, je recommande ! Un peu cher mais il n'est pas volé du tout !

Nice place, but the food is a bit expensive. They have a lot of variety of drinks. It is wasn't too busy. The bruschetta wasn't very good but the oysters were very fresh.

Nice little set up outside, however, service could be better, a little on the slow side but the staff I dealt with were very nice. I know circumstances are tough and there’s less staff, so the effort is there. Well done for keeping it up and running.

Lovely interior, food was nice, not fantastic, but nothing bad about it. I wasn’t informed of the special, but overheard it being told to the next table that was seated beside me. It’s something I would have ordered, but my order had already been sent in 15 minutes previously - tad annoying.

Wow is all I can say. Brought my wife here today for food after being turned away by a neighbouring restaurant because they didn't start food until 5 and I'm glad they did 🤣 We both had the braised venison shank and it's the best food I've had in an Irish restaurant over the last few years as I reckon since covid the standards have dropped massively. Reasonably priced too considering rising costs for businesses. Will be back again.

This is a wonderful place where you can eat deliciously and relax. Special thanks to the cook for the delicious food that we did not wait for long, my son and I are delighted! I also want to note the waiters, they are always smiling and polite, their service is not intrusive, and you feel comfortable and cozy in this place. Many thanks to everyone!

We arrived about 6:30pm on a Friday on recommendation from a friend and the place wasn’t that busy. It’s a huge restaurant, and the many rooms make it seem like a maze. The staff were polite and professional. The only thing that lets this place down is the prices. It cost us €110 for 3 mains, 3 desserts, 3 drinks and a tea. However, the food lived up to its price and was simply amazing. I had the Indian Tikka Masala and it was bursting with flavour. For dessert, I recommend the chocolate fondant. Overall, a place not to be missed if you’re looking for some quality food in the Galway area.

It's a lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Lots of stairs we had a meal booked and were seated at the very last stop on these stairs. It wasnt as nice or as warm as the rest of the levels, I would ask not to be seated there if I booked again Starters were lovely but mains disappointing.
