It was Sunday afternoon, and many of the high rated restaurants closed when we discovered this place thanks to Google Maps , and it appeared to be one of the most prestigious restaurants in the city, offering a delightful selection of luxurious French cuisine. The sheer size of the dining hall, which can accommodate approximately 400 people, doesn't compromise the exceptional service provided by the highly professional staff. When you dine at this extraordinary establishment, I highly recommend allowing yourself to indulge in dishes you may be unfamiliar with, under the advice of the welcoming staff. It is in this exploration of new flavors that the true magnificence of this dining experience

Very professional and friendly staff, they gave us enough time to decide on the order, without any nervousness or intrusiveness (we were quite indecisive about what to eat, especially since we don't know the dishes). Beautifully decorated old space with tradition. All three dishes we ordered were very tasty, the steak a bit rare (we ordered a medium rare). The dessert is fantastic, as is their award-winning domestic beer. Recommendation if you want a French restaurant with tradition and their dishes.

It is a huge restaurant and best to come before 7pm cos after that, there's usually a crowd. We were on a tight budget so we just ordered the Confluence set. We didn't see many ordering that. Many ordered the bone marrow and French onion soup plus other dishes. Food is good but I suppose we need to learn to appreciate French food better.

This is one of the most happening Brasserie’s I have seen in the world. I think more than 150 people eating at one time. Very efficiently managed well organised welcome for 45 mins waiting time. Drinks bar opened while waiting which also has long queues for 15 mins plus wait. Central location in city of Lyon. Lyon is growing on me and looks like very busy and value for money to enjoy french cuisine and culture. I will be very honest and food was a bit disappointing proposition. This restaurant will be turning 200 years old in a decade or so but food other then one main course out of three was good. Steak was not good, French onion soup had no kick of onions in it and was very plain. Appetisers lentils and bone marrow were very average. Dessert rum baba and baked Alaska-was nothing to talk about. Enjoy drinks and ambiance but food I will not recommend.

Good food but cold service. You can make no reservations, and despite the fact that you were there but your friends were still on the way, the waiters won't let you sit at the table before EVERYONE arrives. Even though we're there way ealier than dinner time (5 pm.), they didn't let us in before everyone of us present. Most of the dishes were really good but the service was too hurry and pushy, we feel like they just wanted to get rid of us asap, didn't feel like it's a place where you can hangout with your friends/family.

Excellent place for an authentic meal. The portions are big enough . Ensure you have a starter to share so you can feast on all local delicacies. The wait is long and the service is straight forward, don't expect a chit-chat.

A Lyon gastronomic institution. The service and atmosphere was excellent. The food was good, but that's all really. Lumpy mashed Potato, main course warm but not piping hot. Decent wine.

Very slow service, we were waiting for 50 minutes for our plates and we received the wrong order 🤓😜, but to be honest very tasty food. And we enjoyed much. And to fix the mistake all drinks were for free as an apology from the manager. I will repeat the visit again.

This place was awesome! It was my first meal after arriving from Canada , and I wanted something super French and delicious, and it was delivered. The staff are impressive to watch as they sprawl around the floor from table to table. Drinks and food flowing non-stop. The atmosphere is very lively, and had a wide range of guests, from families, to young couples and groups of friends. I really liked it. At 8pm a band even started to play. It was very fun, even though I was dining alone and just people watching. Honestly I think it’s a must-visit if you’re looking for a cool French dining experience. And it looks like if you got on your birthday it’s even more fun, as the band would play a small happy birthday number, and the lights would dim as the waiter brought a sparkler filled cake. I usually see birthday songs at restaurants where maybe one or two surrounding tables get involved to sing a bit, but here the whole restaurant was singing and clapping when it happened. Which in the time I was there, was about 3 times. The staff were also super accommodating to my non-French speaking self!

When I went on 0.01.2024 I couldn’t find any recent food pictures, so I decided to upload our order. For mains, I recommend the onion soup(they bring the yolk & Madeira on the side), ravioli, lasagna (it’s with mushrooms-no red sauce), seabass and steak Desserts .. stay away with exception to chocolate cake; not a single item stood out. Other details/ lentils have like a mustard sauce flavor , green beans are nice, veal is too gamy, bone marrow too oily

Absolutely fantastic. Everything was wonderful from the warm, caring, and incredible front of house service to the perfect food. The in-house crafted beers were next level. The location is both classic and lively, this is the it place to be and was in full swing 10pm on a Wednesday. We were treated with courtesy and hospitality even though our french is atrocious (sorry). They really made us feel like we were with friends. I highly suggest this spot though it needs no introduction nor does it need my love letter. A true gastronomic and social pillar in Lyons gastronomic community. There is a reason this classic has been around for so long. I hope to come back many many times. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. If you really want a fun game take a shot everytime they play the birthday song ;D

Brasserie Georges is visually stimulating with it's historic art deco design. Located near the old train station it is very well situated. I have eaten here a number of times over the years when I am in Lyon and it has been hit or miss. In my opinion the food has improved and I had a delightful meal when I was last there! I really enjoyed the cucumber gazpacho soup and had the pike fish quenelle in a cream sauce...also had some homemade mashed potatoes and buttered spinach which was all very good! Since the serving portions are quite large I didn't have room for desert. Kirk Regalia Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida U.S.A.

I was told it was bourgeois food for the working class, and it certainly has that vibe in the sense it is unpretentious and casual but with 5 star food and service! The cucumber gazpacho filled me up and I would highly recommend it, the vegetarian ravioli was top notch. Other diners with me had the saucisson and the escargot which were superb. Definitely visit if you can!

Great beers! Extensive food and drink venue and atmospheric venue. Looks art deco, but is from 1836. All the food was tasty and there were vegetarian selections available too. Note : Vegans might struggle, since the vegetarian items had dairy.

Food is good but not great! A bit crowdy but has a unique vibe that you cannot have it in an another restaurant! A chapeau bas for the massive kitchen team and servants! It’s real institution in food service! Prices are very convenient, around 70 euros for 2 people!

It’s worth to come to Brasserie George’s for ambience but not necessarily for the food. The bone marrow was the best part me the dinner. The linguini with scallops and shrimps had a lot of pasta but very little seafood. It supposed to have truffle but didn’t taste at all. The friends were not really fond of their food either, be it cod or steak. The staff was friendly though and it is convenient for big groups. But I am sure that there are many other places better and cheaper than in Lyon.

I arrived and waited for nearly an hour in line before being admitted. Once inside, we still had to wait, this time with a device. Anyway, we found our spot; the waitstaff was very polite and smiling. I ordered a medium-cooked Rumpsteak. The meat was cut incorrectly, but the sauces were exquisite, typical of classic French cuisine. It's a good place to experience local flavors, but I must say it's not as exceptional as it's made out to be. You can try the macaron for dessert – it's truly wonderful.

The service here is impeccable and the food is beyond delicious. Everything is incredibly fresh; you can literally taste the quality. The servers are efficient, friendly, and at the top of their game. The steak tartare is prepared tableside and is one of the best things I've ever eaten. If you're into beef, it's a must-have. They do something cool for birthdays, but I'll leave that as a surprise for you to find out when you go. Just make sure to let your server know that there's a birthday at your table.

Very old and huge restaurant. The food was really good and service as well although the place was packed to the max. When there's a birthday they switch off the light and have a an old pianola which is really nice. The place has a alot of character and definitely worth a try if you're in Lyon, as uts totally different than alm the small Brasserie and restaurants.

👍 Nice experience in this new restaurant. Gentle staff, there is a nice feeling. I recommend the salads which are super tasty and creative. Could not experience the fresh juice as the restaurant seems to have some teething problems but I will come back in a few weeks to try more.

👍 Good place for family and kids. We actually came to watch a Hindimovie. The ice cream parlor is also tasty. The kids can also spend some time in the play area. Overall it was neat and clean and an enjoyable place. Very spacious movie theater with arcade and games. The dolby room with cosy armchairs...
