Must visit pizza restaurant if you are in town. This such a cute small little authentic Italian restaurant with very basic furniture, a seating capacity of 14 to 16 people only, but the Pizza 🍕 just beats everything else. We tried the Fungi and Salmia, and they were just outstanding. This restaurant has such an authentic local vibe to it as It’s a shack made out of metal and cardboard, but the feel is so genuine and real. The tables have a very unique styling with small hand written notes by guests in different languages, and foreign currency bills from across the world. 75% of the space is restaurant and 25% is kitchen. This place is run by a family, with such a nice home feel. It’s a bit hard to locate, but look for the first green shack after Royal Lake Hotel.

There are very few pizza places in Nuwara Eliya, and this is hands down the best one. Upon reading the excellent reviews, we visited Salmiya for dinner, and it did not disappoint. They have great vegetarian options, and we got the vegetarian pizza and the Veg Extravaganza. Both were incredible. There was a vegetable on my extravaganza, and I couldn't figure what it is. Upon asking the proprietor, turns out it's artichoke! Turns out they've been struggling to get artichokes in Sri Lanka, and he brings it in from Colombo in cans. Regarding the ambience, it's a very small and cosy place with few tables. The tables are covered in love letters from previous patrons, expressing their thanks for the pizzas they had. If you like pizza, you should go here but go before 8.30 pm because it closes by 9.

Best place for Pizza in Nuwaraeliya. Little but superb place with delicious Italian pizza. The lady who is running this cute place is very friendly and helpful. Wanna come back again...

Would you believe me if I said that this quiet place near Lake Gregory run by a modest couple has the best Italian pizza in Nuwara Eliya? Well, try it for yourself then. Visited this place on a rainy and cold night with the sun was setting quickly and we only had the energy to walk a few blocks away for our dinner. As we observed this place on the maps, we realized that it was a small setup with hardly 6 tables with the kitchen on either side of the wall. The owner of the place was trained by an Italian chef and he runs it with the help of his family without compromising on how others cook any Italian dish. His story was inspiring since he stayed by what he was taught and what he believed in. Tried out their garlic bread which was similar to a thin-crust Italian pizza base topped with parmesan and Oregano; very simple and tasted exquisite!! Their Margarita was unlike any others that I've tried in India or any other place. It was crispy by the base and saucy on the top while gooey along every bite; the rocket and basil leaves were a top-notch addition!! Penne pasta was cooked very elegantly, topped with pomo sauce and parmesan!! Very gentle on the tummy since many other cheeses would make us feel heavy but not this. Mild-spiced, Saucy, and rich from the sauce!! Have noticed lots of foreigners' footfall which is evident that this place is indeed a hit!! The dining table has innumerable handwritten notes from people of various countries showing their appreciation and leaving their currency as souvenirs. Their prices are a bit on the higher end but to find such a gem of a place in Nuwara Eliya is hard so all their dishes are worth it!!

Simply great, the cook is a lady who seems a bit your Srí Lankan Italian mamma. Food is brilliant. A must have if you are in town!

Best pizza I have had in SL! We loved the food so much that we returned for a second night. The thin pizza is covered so generously with ingredients and is flavorful and addictive. The place is small but clean and hygienic. Don't worry about asking for things that are not on the menu, the lady who runs it was so lovely and made us some superb and unique garlic break upon request. Make sure to check out all the cool visitors who ate there and left her notes of gratitude.

It was the best pizza I’ve ever eat! Thin dough, lots of top - big peaces of chicken, lots of prawns, fresh basilic, it was amazing! Thank you, Salmiya! Totally recommend!

Super friendly host, yummy pizza that satisfied a craving. Pizza had thin crust, but the cheese wasn’t very salty, a little flavourless but the pepper, salt and meat made up for it. Overall very yummy, recommended if you’re visiting! We ordered 4 cheese & number 24.

A tiny restaurant with just 3 tables, this is the best pizza you'll find in Nuwara Eliya! The chef herself manages the place, so your order might take some time to come, but you will be delightful with what's served to you!

The food, as almost everyone here mentions is SUPERB. Probably the best pizza I've ever had in Sri Lanka. Also, a plus point for the pasta which was cooked al dente; something that is hard to come by in most of the Italian restaurants in the country. The only downside, though quite minimal would be the dining area which was quite cozy but also very small. If there as an al fresco setting, it would have been perfect. Either way, this is probably the BEST pizza place in Nuwara Eliya. A must visit 😁🤩

Amazing experience, i dont know why anybody would go to pizza hut in nuwara eliya when this sweet lady makes the best pizza in town. With the ingredients available in our poor country and the worldly difficulties she still makes the best pizza and you can feel that the secret ingredient is love. Please keep going because we are coming for more.

People who call this a good pizza must be very desperate for european food. I get it, this can happen when you travel for a long time away from home. But I still saved a very good memory of what a real pizza should taste like, and find what they cook here disappointing. Thought the salad was very nice and big.

We visited the restaurant because of the numerous positive Google reviews and were thrilled! Super tasty pizza and an even better chef/waitress. She is extremely warm and her English is very good! We felt completely at ease and can recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to eat something different outside of Sri Lankan cuisine! Prices are of course a little bite more expensive but totally worth it! Thanks :)

This cozy little restaurant has left the best impressions! I guarantee you cannot find an authentic Italian pizza place like this anywhere in Sri Lanka. The owners (husband and wife) are extremely knowledgeable without any doubt. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about. The menu is extensive with some Italian classics and some twists, and for their prices, it's 100% worth it. We enjoyed every single bite and it was just excellent. Can't wait to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to eat a proper Italian meal in Nuwara Eliya.

Tiny little place with only 3 tables and 1 member of staff. It's a father, wife and kids that run the place. So waiting times can be long if a big table is in. We ordered 1 veg extravaganza and a chicken salmiya and both were amazing pizzas. Really thin and crispy base and really tasty topping. Unfortunately you can't customise the pizzas, but they had about 30 pizza topping options so plenty to choose from.

Very nice pizza here, very nice owner! Didn’t expect much from a pizza in Sri Lanka, but it was a good surprise. The place is very small. The tables have reviews on paper form previous guests and some money - looking at them makes the waiting time pass quickly. :)

If you need to take a break from SriLankan local food, then this is a place to go :) Excellent pizza + spaghetti, very nice service and very good overall experience. Place is really small and cozy, so we have been there twice. Each time pizza was fresh, tasty and service was very kind. Highly recommended!

When all rice & curry, kotthu, short eats and all things coconut are coming out of your nose, there is Salmiya whose primitive goan beach style shack will relieve you... with pizza!! Thin crust, nicely done tasty pizzas with a smiling service. Dont judge a book by its cover: go inside and indulge yourself.

Saw more than five COCKROACHES on our table alone! DISGUSTING! Again, it is not the same cockroaches which we saw 5 times… 5 different cockroaches within 10 min!!!! I don’t understand why it is so overrated on Google Map, food is average only.

When you are in Nuwara Eliya you have to come here and try this delicious Pizza! 🍕 I just finished the Aloha Pizza and I'm glad that we choose this place for dinner tonight. Very friendly Women, with good englisch skills. See you 🙂

One of the best Pizza I have ever tasted in Sri Lanka...

For us as foreigner It was best and it is really the best one because we really enjoyed what they do here. I say thank you to the resturant owners and their chef and all the people which helps to provide such quality service, I recommend them specially to the travellers and foreginers.

Very nice food. A bit hard to find in the beginning, its a nice small restaurant with very friendly people. Owner went to the supermarket to get a beer for us. Delicious pizza's ♡ would highly recommend.

One of the best pizzas 🍕 I’ve had in the world is in Sri Lanka?! But yes! Ingredients are correct. Lady owner and her son make the cheese for it, they buy the expensive ingredients and it’s still perfect value for what you get - AMAZING PIZZA. If you need some rest from Sri Lankan food (we all do) come here.

An amazing pizza place at nuwaraeliya. Kind and loving host who makes very tasty pizza. The taste was magical and the atmosphere was great. This tiny gem should be protected at all cost. Keep up the good job because I am definitely coming back for more

Wanted some Italian so we came here but was disappointed that only 1 out of the 4 pasta choices was available (spaghetti bolognese). Don’t choose the pasta if you must have it Al dente. We also had the pizza salmiya special which was tasty. They were happy to give more cheese if you request for it. Waited for about 20min for the food although we were the only ones in the restaurant hence the 3 stars.

If you're in Nuwara Eliya and looking for top notch pizza, don't waste your time at pizza hut. Go here. Absolutely lovely little pizza place in Nuwara Eliya run by the sweetest and kindest lady. Its very small and only has three tables but the pizzas are some of the best I've had in Sri Lanka and are all made by hand and with great care. Thoroughly recommended. Was so good we went twice in two days.

Delicious pizza, open and friendly owner! This was the best pizza I have had traveling in Asia so far. Thin crust, fresh vegetables and superb taste. I enjoyed coming here!
