Big portion and delicious food. We went to there 2 families. I loved atmosphere, decoration and family friendly service. My son 1.5 years old, had run all dining time. Everyone had very understanding for us. Everywhere was clean. I can remember there

Visited here for a late lunch having booked a table. Front of house friendly and showed us straight to our table. Unfortunately, thereafter we found the service to be quite slow. Food was well cooked and your typical Harvester experience with the use of unlimited salad, etc. This particular Harvester is relatively small but this helped in making for a cosy atmosphere.

The bartender Jed was very friendly, drinks came quickly, couldn’t fault him on anything. The waitresses however were slagging other members of staff off behind their backs in front of customers. Didn’t seem very professional at all. That’s what put this down to 2 stars

Food was great, good portion sizes and something for everyone. Didn't catch her name but our waitress was lovely, really friendly. We were two tables of 6 and all ate at the same time. They didn't have ribs but had signs up at the door to tell you this which I thought was good, I hate when you order and that's when they tell you they don't have something and you feel pressure to pick something else quickly.

Ate here twice on our short break. First time they fitted us in for lunch without a booking. (Thank you) which was very nice as they were really busy. Second time we booked. Lovely atmosphere. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely would go back again.

The second time we've been here and waited over an hour for food. People who arrived 30 minutes after us had their meals before us. Size of the meal was ridiculous for what you were paying. Items asked to be removed were still on the plate. Steak was cremated when we asked for rare! Our waitress was apologetic but the Manager's attitude was absolutely appalling. She said "you arrived early!" What 6.22pm for a 6.30pm booking! Quite what this has to do with the meal and the level of service I'm still trying to work out! Plus the tables were filthy. Not a great experience.

Booked last minute, we went and wasn’t expecting much, just the normal generic pub chain food. How surprised were we, food was excellent, good portions and served lovely and hot. Service was great and waitress checked several times if we were ok and required anything else. Definitely somewhere we will go again.

Nice meal yesterday, good-sized portions. I had the dirty bird combo, very tasty. There is plenty of choice on the menu. We arrived early for our booking and were seated in a few minutes. Refillable drinks are available. Always full before getting to desert.

Great meal with fresh food! Nice and clean with a great atmosphere. One of the best Harvester restaurants that I have eaten at as a family would definitely recommend

Today we were served by the lovely Teresa. She was so patient and professional when dealing with our party (many with various allergies)! The food all came out together and was scrumptious.😋 Today was a very special occasion for us and went without a hitch. Thank you very much for making our special morning perfect! 🙏🏼 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly recommended!

BREAKFAST: Total cost for two breakfast £22.95. 1 Unlimited with steak and 1 Unlimited without steak plus two coffees. 9am start. Informed no pancakes. Staff very polite.. The unlimited breakfast is table service only NOT unlimited help yourself. No coffee with breakfast either. Latte is also not included on unlimited coffee option, I had to ask about this so be aware its more expensive. You have to pre-empt that you may want more with your order, which will probably contribute to a large amounts of food waste. I ordered unlimited with steak medium. Ordered at 9.05am. Order came at 9.23, very quick. Sausages are lincolnshire type, not meaty, would assume Brakes/kff cheaper flavoured sausages, quite disappointed in the quality here. Bacon thin and unsmoked, cooked OK, fat wasn't crispy. Mushrooms taste kind of boiled rather than fried or grilled. Hash browns are thick and decent flavour/crunch, slightly under cooked for me. Steak (extra 2.99) was alright and cooked to medium, no seasoning. Heinz beans are just that, eggs stacked on top of each other and in between runny and hard, Black pudding is thick cut and not slow cooked in butter, flash fried. Verdict, looked amazing but quality below par. OK but wouldn't make the effort to visit again.

Popped in with my daughter. Seated promptly. Lesley our waitress was lovely, even changing a menu item to suit me. Food took a little while to come out, but the restaurant was quite busy, and it was worth the wait. Lovely atmosphere, good prices, and the pink gin spritz was delicious!

The Running Horse in Maidstone is a long established Harvester restaurant. Large dining area which has been refitted not so long ago. We love the salad cart which is unlimited and has loads of toppings, sauces and various bread rolls. One of us had a chicken burger and the other a flatbread filled with Cajun rubbed chicken, both came with fries Our food was hot and came out in good time. Our waitress was friendly and has been on the staff for years so knows her job very well. Our meals with soft drinks came to less than £25. There was a lunchtime menu on offer to buy it's limited. Sadly the famous Early Bird 🐦 offer is no more. There is access for mobility impaired. A few parking spaces out front and the main parking area across a busy road so care is needed. There is a garden with tables but it was raining hard so I didn't get a really good look.

Had a Meerkat meal evening. Everything was nice, food, staff atmosphere etc. Only one little gripe was they only had 1 beer on offer but 11 lagers. But on the while we couldn't moan with 25% off the bill with Meerkat meals.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Running Horse Harvester Maidstone restaurant, for my fiancée birthday treat and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and at home. The restaurant itself had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with cozy lighting and comfortable seating. The menu offered a great selection of dishes, and the food was simply delicious. However, what really stood out to me was the buffet salad. The presentation of the salad was beautiful, with a colorful array of fresh vegetables and toppings that were expertly arranged. I could tell that the ingredients were of the highest quality, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. I appreciated that there were a variety of options available, from leafy greens to grains and proteins, so I was able to create a salad that suited my tastes. Additionally, the service was exceptional. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, always on hand to answer any questions I had and to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Overall, I would highly recommend the Running Horse Harvester Maidstone restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in a welcoming and enjoyable environment. Whether you're looking for a casual dinner with friends or a special occasion meal, this restaurant has everything you need to make it a memorable experience, including a fantastic buffet salad.

A surprisingly good experience after we stayed away for a while because the food quality was dropping massively. But this time, only my wife complained – but if you order a vegetarian dish, what do you expect? I ordered the Ultimate Combo and I liked everything on it. It’s quite a lot, but doable and everything was tender and tasty. The kids liked their food too and loved especially the do-it-yourself ice cream. The serving speed was ok and the staff friendly. What can you expect more in a budget and family restaurant?

Mel’s service was exemplary today. We arrived just before 9am, and we were seated with drinks before 9.10am. Freshly toasted bread with choice of spreads, followed quickly. Our requests for breakfast - we like to adapt it to suit our tastes - were honored. Mel checked in too so we felt looked after. It was a very good experience for us. We appreciated the unlimited toast, the egg sandwich with hash browns, yoghurt with granola, and hot drinks- and the good value: £18 feeds two well.

Good service, food was very good, waitress was extremely efficient. Just took bit of time to pay the bill. But maybe being picky as she was quite busy but still very polite.

It was a lovely dinner. The portions were filling. Love the fact that they have a salad bar, you take all you want. The dessert was part of the menu and honestly was so reasonable for the price. I highly recommend

I took my niece and nephew for 'breakfast with Santa' and everything was lovely. The waitress Vicky was perfect, helping to mop up and replace a spilt drink, and bringing us everything we needed with a smile. The food selection was great and I was so impressed to see vegan and vegetarian options even for kids. Everything was very tasty. The kids loved meeting Santa and their goody bags, and everything was great value for money. No complaints, well done to all at this Harvester :)

We visited for a midweek trip for dinner and was served by the lovely Teresa. We were a party of 3 and she was very attentive and interacted with our toddler so much! She’s a star! Food was great and arrived promptly. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Thank you.

First trip to running horse and 2nd harvester this year. Massive difference between the food compared to Ashford branch. The BBQ burger was lovely and the patty was ground beef compared to Ashford which was processed. The dirty bird burger was great and really lived the southern fried chicken breasts, amazing tasting bacon. The sundae was nicely presented just quite overfilled so hard to eat and all sauce was at the bottom so a little repetitive worth a try. The salad bar was also great compared to other Harvester. Very tasty potato salad and penne pasta. All the food that we saw going round looked amazing. Totally worth the drive and will come back. The staff were all very friendly and nice. Liam ( I think that was the name in the receipt) was excellent and took care of us.

Waitress was nice abd friendly. Girl serving salad was total opposite. Main meal was dreadful. Over cooked salmon. Veggies raw. To be fare they didn't charge for it after i complained.... My family had ribs and that was ok. Would never go back

Warm welcome. Checked in safely. Fantastic waitress. So nice to be eating out again. Food was tasty and piping hot, although medium steak was definitely rather more well-done than medium! Lovely relaxed family atmosphere. Will definitely go back but maybe avoid the steak next time!

I have a dairy and gluten intolerance and the waitress was very helpful and suggested a few options for me to choose from. I have been a few times now and the food is good.

Our evening was fantastic! Our server was polite, funny and very friendly. We were at table 24 and he was very attentive. We felt very looked after. I left him a tip despite him being sent home before we could tell him. The grill was not in use on the night as it had broken. But, this did not ditract from the wonderful ambience and general good vibe of the evening. I have recently moved back to Kent after living in Norfolk. Harvester, particularly this restaurant (The Running Horse) has been much missed and so revisiting this spectacular venue and being treated so well by all staff made my birthday that bit more special / memorable. Thank you to everyone at The Running Horse! We shall be back to dine with you all again very soon ! 😁 Special thanks to the lad who waited on us.

We went at 11.30 for early lunch, they'd just finished breakfast and were getting the salad bar ready. Service was good. I had nachos for start followed by steak - great quality (but was under cooked as I asked for medium rare and came very rare) 😬 apart from that food was good quality and value for money.

Not only was the food really good but I spent my entire meal flirting with Kerry the waitress. We exchanged numbers and have a first date planned for the Beefeater next week!

Came here for Easter for the set menu for £19.99, very good value for money, all courses were faultless. Our server was very professional, very well mannered.

Haven't eaten here in years as we'd had such poor service and food in the past, so when we were taken there as a birthday treat we were a little nervous. What a transformation! Food, though relatively basic fare, was well presented, well cooked and portions were large. Our waitress (unfortunately I can't remember her name), was welcoming and attentive. A great turnaround, Running Horse! Well done!

Service was fast for the time of day and how busy the restaurant was, the food was all excellent, but it wasn't until we got home and checked the receipt that we noticed we had been overcharged. One of the main reasons for the weekday visit was the children eat for £1 offer, but we were charged full price. EDIT - So like an idiot I didn't see the code in the email, only the offer in the title and thought it was an automatic discount. I have now changed the rating to the 5 stars they deserve.

Salad bar was completely empty they didn't even bother restocking it. Food was disgusting was extremely dry an was over cooked like chewing on plastic. Daughters 11th birthday meal ruined because the staff took ages to even bring the food over we all feel unwell my nephews didn't even eat there food because it was burnt an chewy! We left early due to the lack of care from the staff there was a strong smell which I thought was from outside but turns out it was inside. Absolutely terrible & will not be returning harvester has gone down hill majorly!

A great value meal, went home feeling well nourished. Lovely, friendly staff and great service. Nice atmosphere. Only very slight drawback, as it was so busy parking was tricky. Just better to know in advance, so a group could go in one car. Brilliant to be close to the M20 for the drive home.

Great service!! Had the 83 Combo, the chicken and pork were both delicious - soft and juicy. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Don't skip the salad bar.
