Small but not bad to visit. Free entry. Timings are 8:30am to 9:00pm. Previous hours were Eid timings. We assumed kiswa and others old materials of Haram are here but found out yhat it has seperate place.

Visiting such places boosts your Iman. Very informative place. Very well managed and guided. When we visited last time on 24 Dec 2018 it was "ladies only" day. I think they have now separated days for men and women. Better to check before visiting. First confirm the address of museum on google map because first it misguided us then we had to relocate but it was worth visiting although only my wife went in there with my son and his pram. There are separate washrooms for men and women. They even had zamzam to drink for free. Parking space as well. Safe and clean environment. Female staff who guides female visitors in different languages.

A great place for learning about the ancient history of Makkah and its adjoining areas. The museum contains archaeological artifacts from prehistoric times including rock inscriptions, ancient stone tools and cultural items. The museum also showcases picturea of historical importance via various banners describing important historical events. This museum, however, focusses mainly on the exhibition of historical items in general not about Kaaba etc specifically. Takes about an hour and half to see.

Al-Zaher Palace Museum or the Makkah Museum is a historical museum that is a 10–15-minute drive away from Haram. It is a two-story building which is surrounded by gardens. The museum displays the history of Makkah and houses many archaeological collections from the different periods of Islamic history in the region.

The place is closed currently...I went there as google map said it's currently open. They are renovating the premise I guess. The security at the gate said it'll open in around 6 months...Not sure how correct his info is though. The library beside the museum is closed as well ..

Wish the official website stated that it is closed for refurbishment. No date on when it will reopen. Don't bother going to where it says for where exhibition has been moved. It is a small collection in the atrium of the building not worth coming for. Also no taxi in the area so make sure to get a number for a taxi driver to come pick you up.

A palace turned into a public museum, open for all. No entrance fee is needed. Though it is mentioned that the closing time is 9 pm but sometimes they close it at 8 pm. Upon entering the museum, you can learn about the pre- history of Arabian peninsula and Islam. There are few information about our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the 2nd floor. Information about the founder of KSA, king Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud. Some history of post KSA. And visualise many sculptures of ancient Arabia. I found praying area beside the entrance of the museum infront of the help desk. It will take you a good amount of time if you want to read all of the information.

Mecca Museum also known as Al-Haramin Museum is an important place to visiting during your visiting in Makkah. It is only 10-15 Minutes driving away from Haram Sherif. It has got various collection of the Islamic cultural and historical dimensions of the two Holy Mosques. The Museum has got 7 Halls. So many valuable information can be gathered. You may need more than to gather more information should you really interested to learn and find the facts.

Al-Zaher Palace Museum in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, is a historical museum that exhibits the history of Makkah and various archaeological collections for different periods of Islamic history in the region and was built in an area of 2700 m2 covering two stories and surrounding gardens.[1] It was built with an Islamic architectural style with cut and carved stone. Al-Zaher Palace was constructed in 1944 and was one of the headquarters for King Abdul Aziz in Makkah where he used to meet the delegates of Muslim pilgrims coming from different Islamic Countries. The palace has then been transformed into a museum for Islamic history in Makkah. The museum consists of 15 halls including: Pre-Islam Hall. The Kingdom's Antiquities Hall. The Holy Quran Hall. The Prophet's Biography Hall. Hajj Hall. The Holy Mosque's Architecture Hall. Makkah Heritage Hall. Islamic Civilization Exhibits Hall.

This museum is right now closed due to renovations going on but no information is spread about that fact. I went there but got only the frustrating answer that it will not open before February 2023 minimum. I would have appreciated not wasting my time and taxi, if it just was publically announced
