I love heights therefore I could not miss visiting this 218 meters tall Mannheim dominant offering spectacular 360 degree views! Ticketing office at the base of the tower was closed and honestly the whole place looked abandoned, however once I got to the elevator I paid the 10 EUR entrance fee with the guy servicing the elevator (actually I paid at the restaurant with a card as the gentlemen accepted only cash)! Once at the platform I was able to enjoy the view of Mannheim and its surroundings. I liked the fact the viewing platforms windows were at an angle, therefore when I leaned over the railing I was able to see directly underneath me, which got me excited and frankly was more interesting than watching the horizon and the cities in the proximity. There were explanatory boards on the ledges giving basic descriptions about what can be seen from up here! Views were great, not blocked by any buildings or mountains. I was a little disappointed with the tinted window glass, which gave a kinda green-ish vibe, not exactly the most flattering. Originally I was not planning to visit the restaurant at all but since I had to go there and pay anyway, I settled in for a beer. The restaurant's platform revolves around its axis once per hour and I surprised myself to stay nearly for a full round. Names of the nearby cities and important sites were written on each column, making sure I won’t miss anything - a very clever idea! Restaurant was half empty during the time of my visit, therefore the service was quick. Nice and friendly waiter Tobias gave me additional information about Mannheim which was appreciated. The overall atmosphere was nice, quiet and enjoyable. Large selection of drinks and fair prices! Next time I would skip the observation platform and come straight to the restaurant (still you’d have to pay the entrance fee). Visited in June 2022.

Bit difficult to understand how this works, entrance looks like abandoned but it is not. Restaurant service a bit on the slower side. Anyway, recommended to visit.

What a wonderful attraction - great views, easy access, low cost, and surprisingly NOT crowded even on this August Sunday afternoon. We came with our kids ages 6, 4, and 2 years old, parked at the adjacent lot (Hans-Reschke-Ufer 2 Parking) and walked the short distance to the tower entrance (after confirming we weren't supposed to buy tickets at the Luisenpark kasse), then entered the lobby and pressed on the "up" button on the elevator. Turns out you pay the man operating the elevator, cash only, and kids under 6 are free. The elevator was fast and smooth, and given the lack of crowds came quickly and were empty other than us and the operator. He let us out on the viewing platform floor and we spent about 20 minutes there, mostly while my kids ran circles around the tower and my husband and I looked at the signs pointing out distant landmarks. There were clean bathrooms on that level. We did NOT go to the restaurant as it looked a little too fancy (and expensive) for what we were going for with our young kids, but I bet it's absolutely amazing and would like to go back should we ever have a chance to get a sitter while we are in Germany. We continued on to the Luisenpark, which was a delight as well and both things took up the whole day. Highly recommend making the trip just for this tower, but definitely if you're already in the area.

Very nice venue. Food was surprisingly good, good value. Parking is for free, but the elevator ride should be for free if you dine in the restaurant. That is really unnecessary. Otherwise they could have received 5 stars.

A version of the Space Needle in WA State. One of the most beautiful views in this area. Lots of things to do like boat rides, soccer fields and Walking/Hiking trails. A must visit when in Mannheim.

we paid 20 eur for getting up, 1 adult and 2 kids. but the view was really nice and every 4 meters you have boards with description of the main atractions in mannheim. it was an excelent first introduction to the city from the sky :-)

Lunch was fine, nothing special, nothing wrong. Prices were pretty high for what we got which we accepted cuz of view and such. When we wanted to pay they added 24 euros for the lift. This was no where communicated, not at the entrance nor when we arrived. Charging for the lift would be fair if you only visit the observation deck but also charging when you enter the restaurant feels like a toerist scam considering the already increased price for the food. Keep this in mind!

Spent about an hour over a weekday sunset enjoying the view from the observation deck. Was very very quiet. Some toilets available up top. No access to the bar without a reservation. Handy tram stop nearby. Interesting signs and info around the outside provided in German only (bring a translation app if you can’t read it). There was a fairly long wait to exit - between pressing the lift call button and the lift and attendant arriving - probably around 10-15 minutes. Allow plenty of time when you want to leave.

Arrived on Monday in November and unfortunately the tower was “closed” but with no explanation..? There was a man working in an information booth nearby who said he wasn’t even sure why the tower was closed and he had been calling them from his office all morning but was getting no answer. Don’t buy tickets in advance unless you’re sure it will be open! Looked very cool from the outside. Shame I couldn’t enter.

Unmistakable, unmissable part of the Mannheim skyline. It sticks out from the rest of the buildings like the tower it is. And it is a pretty tower indeed. There's a revolving restaurant at the top of the tower.

We were a little disappointed with our meals. Not the quality that was expected for the prize.

A bit too expensive to get on top, but you have a great view of the city and everything from the park below for which you need to pay to enter. Also, you probably will be the only person on top as there aren't many tourists.
