Kampala Serena Hotel is the only 5 Star hotel in Uganda, its location is great, and it has wide parking space, it's not cheap but worth trying if you have the resources, I like mainly its conference hall, the big and high standard also the great food choices available here makes it perfect, I haven't slept there but I will try soon

A prominent luxury hotel located in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Has very elegant architecture and hospitality, the hotel offers a range of amenities including spacious rooms, fine dining options, and conference facilities. It is a popular choice for both business and leisure travelers seeking a comfortable and upscale stay in Kampala.

Indeed its a 5star hotel along kampala city and its well known for various ceremonies and functions plus a good reputation of hosting vital presidential meetings. Serena hotel has got a nice view and enough space for both parking of vehicles and good gardens which can be used for weddings and outside parties.its an old hotel where the name was changed from the former Nile Hotel to now Serena hotel.a nice place to visit.

Serena is a beautiful place,....his is going to be quite the review, first, the nature..... there's trees around , the green did it for me, the rooms are exquisite...they're super clean, cozy, comfy . And yes, the service is amazing, the waitresses were very respectful and kind. And yes, the food! I loved it.... I could rate this more if there were more stars.

They gave us those old rooms with tiny beds, it felt like sleeping in a pram. The breakfast is 100% legit but also I think its OK for us to move on from the old hotels.. Maybe if you are rich they can put you on the new wing.. idk. But they are making their money so I guess who cares.

We had a family wedding at Serena Hotel at the end of 2018 in Kampala. It was a nice family gathering and beautiful wedding. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly, ambience was great and I have such a memorable time in Kampala despite the crazy traffic jams. I would love to come back to Kampala for a longer stay and explore the beauty of Uganda and it's people. Thank you

Had a very warm reception from the security, and the staff at the reception restaurant. We held a brief meeting with my team. There is peace and tranquility; quiet ambience in one of the lounge!. I would gladly recommend the place to anyone who wish to have a first class treat!.

The hotel is inarguably the finest on the Nakasero hill in Kampala. The ambiance, it's restaurants and setting accords the patrons a relaxing feel. There are no better terraces in town like the ones at this hotel. If you are on a business trip in Kampala and privacy is required, then this is the address. Well manicured gardens, ample parking, top security. Excellent service from staff

High class hotel, Serena has some of the biggest meeting halls. Good for concerts, events, conferences etc.. The interior looks so beautiful decked with various art. Pretty fountains and gardens outside augment the beauty and the sweet, calm atmosphere. The food is really satisfying too. Security and Customer service is at their very best. Though it might be a bit costly for your room, and booking space. Nevertheless, I believe they have offers.

The gym is really good. Rooms are standard in this category hotel. The service is really average. Getting a coffee in the lobby is not possible. Even if every staff member is just hanging around and are having no guests to attend to. The service can best be characterized as carelessness.

The most massive hotel I have been to so far. Has excellent conference and events facilities. Venues that can fit in just a few guests to almost 3000. The service delivery is top notch, the environment is green and beautiful. It has several restaurants, the main one with a lake type of view and ambience, an italian one and even a fine dining one. Not to mention an executive lounge for VIPs. In short its a place to be.

Worse customer service ever. They take you for granted, Had no hot water during most of my stay. They even harrassed me for days for an error they made when charging me 50$ less than what I was supposed to pay for extras. They do NOT care about their customers. They pretend to, but they don’t. For the price they charge it is simply outrageous

Rooms were beautiful, food was great, staff were okay. The hotel is centrally located, but is far from the airport. Rooms have WiFi, TV provides average entertainment, and beds are comfortable. The ambience within the hotel is quite nice. It has a beautiful garden, and a pool. The hotel also has beautiful African artifacts placed all around the facility. I'd recommend if it suits what you're looking for in Kampala.

The staff are "AMAZING", very polite and helpful willingly. The room was nice but could smell occasional smoking early evening as my room was garden fancing but inside the room was excellent. The room has light refreshments and fresh fruits, and the fridge has soft drinks prepared daily. The location is great, and I felt safe here. Another great point, chef, were happy to fill any special request. Spoke to me in person ( a great plus for my fussy eating)

It was my first time to stay there but it was excellent. Front desk staff Sandra, Caroline 1, Caroline 2 and Rachell in account s were fantastic. My new year's eve/ birthday was fabulous. May be this year the residents should get a concession towards the entertainment. Other than that it was a 5Γ· service. Am back this year.

For a hotel that caters to business travelers they should have noise limits on weddings. There is a wedding on a Wednesday evening with very loud music -it’s so loud it feels like the wedding is in my room. Called reception to inquire and they said it’s a wedding and will end at 12 midnight with no solutions proposed. Unacceptable for a five star hotel catering to business travelers.

We spent a night at Serena Kampala hΓ΄tel after our safari The service was good The food was okay but unfortunately it was a buffet which is not very chic and clean for the pandemic and no vegan options at all... for a very expensive price Also the restaurant is not cozy Rooms were okay but nothing beautiful The pool Is full of kids which doesn’t make it a nice place to rest and no privacy And the hotel were organising a wedding so it was quite noisy Hope they can improve because the place has a great potential !

The Kampala Serena Hotel has been recommended by my company for everyone who goes to Uganda, and this is where we always stay due to their great service. We've continued to stay here for many years and have no complaints. The hotel, grounds, staff, rooms, and food are all great! Thanks to Serena, I get to stay at a really nice and fancy 5-star hotel for a decent price (which is much more affordable than our US prices).

Best hΓ΄tel in town, very comfortable rooms, however the waiting for check in was long, things were missing in my room, safe box was broken and never repaired, food at the restaurant took over an hour to arrive.

I have stayed here so many times pre-COVID and this week’s stay was not pleasant. My WIFI kept going off and on and the front office was not helpful. There was a double deduction on my credit card and the hotel didn’t initiate a reversal. They asked me to wait for 3 working days so my bank could initiate the reversal if the money wasn’t claimed. It being a Thursday, it meant I have to wait 5 days for this. No manager on duty to address my concerns. For the price we pay for a night here , I expect excellent services. Very disappointed client.

Indeed a place of class; very welcoming and professional staff. Strategically located in the heart of Kampala city, Serena Hotel will give you the best experience at a cost worth the class of your event. I liked the illumination system of the venue in particular. Looking forward to having more events and experiencing the professional treat by the staff

This is one of the nice hotels around Kampala city. The green and natural setting is just amazing. At night, I could hear crickets, frogs in the pond, and a few birds. Nice and serene. The service was nice. The food was nice too.

At the pool side, ordered for food it took more than an hour to be served. The burgers simple and not delicious. Was disappointed to say the least! For that price to serve sub standard meals is underwhelming. Hope it gets better. Otherwise it’s a lovely place. Also the he music at the pool side is turned on too loud, you have to shout to have a conversation.

We booked a birthday party for my wife. The party was to be on 15.2.2023. We booked this party a week in advance and ordered a birthday cake to be supplied. On the night of the 15th we were kept waiting and waiting for the cake to be brought to our table. We were kept waiting for over 46 minutes. No one came to us to explain what was causing the delay. We had to eventually demand an explanation as everyone we asked just made excuses. We were eventually told they had forgotten the cake and were making one. This was at 11pm. We told them it was now far too late and not to bother. The staff there have a couldn't care less attitude the fact they had ruined my wife's birthday party didn't bother them one bit. We only received an apology after we asked for one I will never use this place again. Their attitude is disgusting .

I went to Kampala Serena Hotel for a business meeting. My meeting counterpart was extremely late thus my driver and I took the opportunity to eaten the buffet. Fantastic staff, great food, lovely experience. In the 40 years that my driver was in Kampala, he had never had the opportunity to enjoy the Serena. It was a great experience for Joseph!

One of the few 5-star hotels located in the centre of Kampala city. It is easier to walk from this hotel to the nearby golf course or the shopping arcade around town. The rooms are comfy and very clean. The food is great and the staff are always welcoming with a smile on their faces. Best place to be in Kampala. Did I mention, it has conference and business facilities?

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kampala Serena Hotel during my visit to Uganda in November 2022, and I can say that the experience was quite impressive overall, meriting a solid 4-star rating. From the moment my journey began, I felt well cared for. I had arranged for a premium airport arrival transfer (Toyota Landcruiser), and the pick-up process worked without a hitch. Upon arrival at the hotel, the check-in process was efficient and welcoming. The hotel grounds are expansive and beautifully maintained. The eye-catching gardens and pools add to the resort's serene atmosphere and provide a lovely backdrop to your stay. It is indeed a large property, an oasis in the heart of the city. The executive suite was spacious, but it could benefit from a refresh. The furniture showed noticeable wear and tear, with several marks and spots that detracted from the overall ambiance. I also encountered a cleanliness issue; however, the hotel management handled it promptly and professionally. They apologized sincerely, providing some delightful goodies in the room and a complimentary late check-out as a kind gesture of goodwill. In a surprise gesture, the management also acknowledged my birthday with a gifted cake, adding a special touch to my celebration. The hotel's gym facilities are extensive, catering to every fitness enthusiast's needs, while the spa offered a professional service that was a wonderful retreat. The massage was superb, adding to the relaxing environment of my stay. The dining options available at the hotel are plentiful and satisfying, with each restaurant offering its unique charm. However, the stay was not without its flaws. During check-out, there was a misunderstanding regarding the charges for the pre-paid arrival transfer, which caused an unnecessary delay and inconvenience. Thankfully, it was eventually resolved, but it highlighted the need for more consistency in the hotel's services. In conclusion, the Kampala Serena Hotel delivers a beautiful setting with generally high-quality services, but there is room for improvement. A refurbishment of the rooms and enhanced consistency in services would make a world of difference. Despite the minor hiccups, I would still recommend this hotel for those looking for a tranquil retreat in the bustling city of Kampala.

An islet of peacefulness hotel in . . It is quitethe suburb of hectic Kampala It is quite far from the centre, just by lake Victoria, so going to centre through the rueh hour and Kampala's traffic jams might need some patients. But the views and the air worth it. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The breakfast and the dinner buffet are very diverse and tasteful. The pool is great, the spa is very nice and the gardens around are joy to the eyes. The stuff are wonderful, always try to help in a friendly manner. They give a genuine impression that they are happy you stay in their hotel.

I stay in this hotel quite a while ago. Once in 2016 and once in 2021 right in the middle of pandemic. The yard is incredibly beautiful. You need to pass the security checkpoint at the gates to enter. The following are the pictures I took when I was there.

*Staff at the reception (front desk) are not friendly at all, not welcoming, the first face you meet when you arrive is frowning. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! *Room needs a lot of renovation, very old furniture. *The pictures shows a bidet in toilet, but this is not true. *Food in breakfast is so limited and repetitive, after few days you will be bored, also not tasty. *pastries and bakeries are πŸ‘ŽπŸ» *The noise at night is unbearable *House keeping will keep the balcony open a lot, insects and reptile will surely enter your room, specially if your room is close to trees and lake. *House keeping will enter your room casually when you are in it! without putting the "make my room" sign! THEY NEVER APOLOGISE FOR THEIR MISTAKES! I will never come here again and will never recommend it to anyone.
