Amazing traditional food and even better service! We tried the tagine here and it was delicious. Was not a fan of the olives themselves but the chicken was cooked to perfection and had no skin on. The soup lacked some salt but nevertheless super delicious! For dessert we had the flan, which was great, but also big :) it comes as 3 pieces, so maybe good for sharing?

Very delicious comfort food. The Moroccan salad is a good appetizer and all the tagine are delicious esp. the mrouzia (?) which is a tender well marbled beef

Nice cozy family restaurant! It is a bit hard to find, need to look very closely. The staff is friendly and helpful even though she can’t speak much English or Arabic. The soup is amazing. Very warming and reasonably priced. The lamb and prune tagine is nice as well though a bit expensive. Overall the food is great!

We wouldn't have been able to find Dar Chef without the help of Google Maps. We were tired and after walking past yet another pricey or packed restaurant, we didn't want to walk anymore. Luckily we happened across Dar Chef and the very charismatic and humble Adi. Tucked away like many of the amazing riads of Marrakech, the decor was simple but homely and the food...to die for. It was our last night so we weren't expecting much but Adi's cuisine left us extremely full and totally satisfied. In fact it made our last night extra special and memorable. It would have been nice to have a glass of wine with our meal but we're in Marrakech so alcohol isn't widely consumed. We started off with a delightful Harira lentil soup, followed by a beef and vegetable Tagine and a seafood pastilla (plus an omelette for good measure - I could have done without the omelette but what can I say, I was hun-gry!) What can I say? Actively seek out this restaurant that has very good ratings on Trip Advisor and help Adi raise his profile on Google restaurant reviews. You won't be disappointed and if he asks who sent you, tell him Teddy!

Delightful meal. Naji was extremely helpful and he offered outstanding service. Authentic flavors in a clean and charming environment. Would be back if we had time. Highly recommend the Chefs couscous. Lovely.

Had an amazing meal at Dar Chef. Delicious, authentic, and very good prices. The star was definitely the lemon chicken tajine, some of the best we’ve had! The harira soup was also delicious. The service was great, Adi was extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Service was great, starters excellent. The only tiny ‘disappointment’ was the chicken rfissa, it had way too much bread and not enough chicken and the taste was ok but a little bland we thought - but this is our own opinion. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

The most lovely and hospitable service we have experienced in Morocco! Thank you so much Adnan. The food was excellent, flavoursome and authentic. We also loved the mint tea here, a real treat 🧡

Typical Maroccan Food, also cook workshops downstairs. We took pastillas and brewats. Food was also good. Good location in the medina close to the big square. A lot of choice in the menu. Service very friendly and they can a lot of languages. We were served by Naji.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant, and I must say that the entire experience exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance was perfect, with just the right lighting and a comfortable, cozy layout that set the stage for a memorable meal. Amazing food 🥘 thanks to Naji the waiter who made our night so special.

Really nice people and a great cooking course where you get to pickup meat and vegetables and the market before learning to cool Marrakech style tasting as you go. It is a very nice couples experience and I can thoroughly recommend it.

We stopped at Dar Chef for lunch on our first day in Marrakesh and were absolutely delighted! I had the beef and vegetables tajine and it was the best I've tried during my stay in Morocco. The beef was really tasty! The service was very friendly and the decor is nice. Definitely recommended!

Fantastic experience in this restaurant, starting with wonderful starters, so crispy and tasty. Than we had Pastilla with chicken and Tajine with beef and prunes: those were the best in our stay in Marrakesh. The Staff was very friendly, special thanks to the new guy who served us. Next time, we will do also the cooking class. Very recommended.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The vibe is nice and the interior is very traditional Moroccan. The food is amazing. I was most amazes by the excellent service by the waiter Adnan. Best service I've experienced ever. I truly believe every waiter has to take an quick course with Adnan to improve their overall service, hospitality and kindness ❤️

The set menu is a good selection for the price. only issue I had was the food was quite bland not enough flavours in the tagine or soup! Staff are super friendly and accommodating!

Visited the restaurant on the basis of reviews and then also can on a food tour of the Medina area. The beef and dried fruit tajine that I tried on the first occasion was very tasty and authentic, though perhaps slightly expensive at 70 dirham. The chicken dish that I tried on the second occasion (some sort of wedding dish) was also pleasant.

Dar Chef is a nice hidden restaurant we found because of its high google rating. Its also recommended by TripAdvisor. I can totally recommend it too. It seems to be run by women only which were very friendly. We ordered tajine and meat with mint tea and black spiced coffee. My colleague liked his tajine and mint tea very much. The mixed meat i ordered came in a clay pot and was very soft and yummy. Side dish was cinnamon coucous and vegetables. The black spiced coffee was veeeery nice. At first i thought it was bit thin, but it tasted great. The ambiente was maroccan and kinda tasteful.

Small, a bit hidden and a cosy restaurant. The vegetarian tagine and the beef couscous were nice but I was expecting more. Quite bland particularly the tagine. Both dishes for 20 euros and certainly enough for 2 people

This place is one of the best where I've ever eaten, it's atmosphere is amazing, the waiters are kind and the food is typical moroccan food which is very delcious and relative cheap. It's not easy to find but this is worth it, because the food isn't just delicious, it's rich and diverse. I am grateful to being part of this experience.

Excellent! Ibrahim (owner) and his crew are a great team. All the dishes we ordered (6) were fantastic. The kind of place where to experience the local Morrocan food and hospitality at its best. Honest prices.

Excellent food: I tasted both the tanjia and the mrouzia that were ordered at our table and to this day I still cannot decide which one was better. Mrouzia kind of appeals more to my taste, because of its sweetness associated with meat, yet I really loved the flavours of tanjia. I'll probably have to repeat the experience to decide. Excellent service, the waiter was impeccable: very polite, helpful, friendly. I was utterly surprised by the fact that - after asking him at some point during our meal about the way they prepare the olives they serve for appetizers - when the bill came, he also passed me the recipe, nicely written by the chef on a piece of paper. A tiny piece of paper that actually spells two very important things: caring for customers and passion about food.

I've been here in this place I can't describe the experience, but I'll try to say something on some points: 1- the hospitality of the restaurant members is incredible for a moment you feel like it's your home or something like that. the way they welcome you the way they present the Moroccan food, all of that is unique and will make you love the place. 2- If you have time you should try practicing cooking Moroccan food, they have a wonderful cooking class. 3- The location of this restaurant is right in the middle of Marrakech city. right near Jamaa El Fna. 4- the pricing is good and I think that everyone can afford it. I tried to summerise a little my experience and I think you definitely should try it out when you come to Marrakech Morroco

Great first night in Morocco, food was good and service was amazing. We had soup and salads to start then cous cous and meatball Tagine. Total came to 250. Staff speak really good English and the place is well sign posted to find the entrance

Ate a delicious chicken pastilla here and then booked in for the cooking class. The class was fantastic and went for 3 hours. We made a chicken pastilla, chicken tagine, bread and a Moroccan salad. All meals were delicious!

  • 5/5 Anjali G. 1 year ago on Google
The food was absolutely outstanding! By far the best, home made tagines we’ve had our whole trip, the meat was so soft and tender, especially the beef! The set menu is such good value for money- will be further recommending this place to everyone who visits in Marrakesh!

Incredible place. We had Tajis of beef and lamb, both amazing!!!! So much flavour. Pastijia was an incredible cinamon dish, with a perfect "hojaldre". Cus cus and bread very good too. Impressive dinner. Besides, attention was delightful. Say no more. I will come back for sure!!!! By the way, family friendly too.

We had mrouzia, which was delicious. Best meal so far in Marrakech. The set 3 course dinner is very good value. Adi was our waiter and he took good care of use. I highly recommend Dar Chef.

Tasty food, local recepies , at reasonable prices. The service was quite slow, but they were kind enough to be understandable. Uncomfortable chairs for the ones not placed on the sofas. great that there's Air conditioner and good WiFi network.

Honestly, it is not my type of food, but very good experience with new taste of local dish. Can’t wait to try chicken and lemon tajine Service was okay, can be paid by euro or dirham, but the currency ofc more expensive, so better pay everything with MAD, prepare cash, since most of them do not have EDC

Incredible experience! Great service and food. Everything was clean and tidy. What a pity we found it the last day of our trip. The atmosphere was great! Congratulations!

The chicken pastilla was delicious but unfortunately the only thing that was. The bread we were given was stale and it seemed as though it had been heated in the microwave. The tajine had vegetables which tasted past their best and the meat was tough and cold in the middle.

This place is a hidden gem. We were drawn in by the simple sign and when we entered it was an incredible environment that didn’t feel touristy. The prices were incredible and got a great deal on an appetizer, main, and tea with bread and olives. Naji was a fantastic server and made us feel like home.
