Very old castle/fortress. Part of it is under construction (like any other tourist attraction in this country). There is a big underground area which is cool to check out including a bunch of small random caves. Very nice views from the top of the fortress. Nice camping spot with a fire pit, kitchen and washing area, a bunch of showers and bathrooms as well.

A small but interesting site to spend a morning/afternoon. It's really the type of place that typifies history in Israel. There's a bit of history from a number of periods including the modern kibbutz Yichiam around the park. The views are spectacular and worth the brief hike up the tower. You should also take the time to watch the movie to hear the history of the fortress itself. After you time at the park make sure to stop by the Malka brewery for a beer or the Yichiam factory deli. Both are worth a stop and you're only a few hundred meters from them both.

Interesting Fortress, not in the Top 10 sites in Israel, still in the Top 50. There are so many World Class sites in Israel: Metsada, Caesaria, Beit Shean, Avdat, Kumran, too many to list all of them here. They are more worth your time than this fortress. But if you pass in this region, and if you've already seen the other National Parks, then Yehi'am becomes definitely a must. Contrary to one of the other reviews I believe that 4 hours is way to much and that in 2 hours you'll walk all the corners and hidden gems this places offers. And of course the views are amazing as always with the fortresses which usually are situated high on the hill to control the routes.

Good location for parents and children. There are games for children. You can also take food and have a snack on the spot. It's a pity that there is no souvenir shop. I like that the park has lawns with flowers and lots of flowers at the entrance. The fortress is well preserved, of course it's fun to climb and imagine the history of these places, and the film shown in one of the caves will also help with this. At the top, a breathtaking view opens: on one side - the forest, on the other - the sea.

We enjoyed exploring the fortress and learning about the history of the place throughout the ages. The signage could have been better, as we couldn't find the beginning and ended up going through backwards. It was interesting for children and adults alike. Plenty of picnic tables on which to sit and eat, too.

Beautiful place, larger than it appears from the outside. There's a Hebrew-only 7-mibute video clip describing the place. Nice views all around. On Sunday it was nearly empty.

Breath taking views. I'd suggest to not stick to the fortress, and adventure around the forests for amazing views. Be careful though, it's easy to get lost.

Great place to take the kids to in the summer. Even in mid July, the weather in the mountains is still quite cool during the day with nice breeze. The fortress was quite big and very interesting for young kids to explore. Nice picnic area outside and super kind staff.

A fairly hidden gem of well tended ruins of a compact Byzantine fortress, with great views of the nearby sea, and on-site camping. Worth a visit but - due to very limited access by one road - only if you're touring the area with a vehicle.

The Best piece of crusader’s history on the Holyland, Juddin Castel of the Teutonic Order. I’m recommended for the Crusaders route in Israel 🇮🇱

Yehiam Fortress dates back to the days of the crusaders. There are great vies of the coastline north of Haifa. There is a educational and fun activity for children that are interested in knights and their lives. This fortress is definitely worth a stop.

A Crusaders-Ottoman casle, partially preserved, with nice views all around, also depicting the story of the 1948 battle which took place there. Relatively small site worth a visit if you are nearby.

Incredible history and very accessible. There is a movie to watch and you can explore the fortress and surrounding bunkers for hours. There is also a great hike from there down into the valley, but you need to leave a car at the end to get back.

Excellent place for a short hike in western Galilee, worth a visit with kids

Really well done both the children's activities - a booklet and a path - and the fortress itself. The fortress is quite large with spectacular views. History ranges from the Crusaders to 1948. Easy to spend 2+ hours here with kids. Several restrooms and cold water.

Wonderful views. Great fun for preschoolers, with towers to climb and some games drawn on the floors during the way to the fortress

A beautiful site to visit, with and interesting history. The view from the tower is great.

Very well done site. The fortress offers impressive vistas of the Western Galilee, tells the story of the heroes of Yehiam and gives a glimpse into crusader life, may their memory be obliterated. Most impressively, the entire fortress has been made wheelchair accessible, allowing everyone to enjoy these dramatic views.
