Great place. Both nice and quite village style superb (local restaurant, organic farm, horse farm, pond in the winter) and very close to Jerusalem (I am talking about the town in general, there's nothing right next to the water, need to walk up to the town if Beit zait). No parking right next to the water, either in beit zait then walk down a dirt road or at the parking lot down by the bike path and then walk on the bike path or through the valley for like 7 minutes. Very nice walk, worth coming just for the walk actually.

Beautiful seasonal water-reservoir. In the winter it's a small lake and in the summer it's a lush valley with lots of off-roading paths for bikes and buggies. Interesting fact: The dam was built to create this reservoir in order to hold rainwater so that it penetrate the ground and reach the aquifer under Tel Aviv. Unfortunately, the un-permeable layer underground causes the water to drain into the dead sea

We hike around Mevaseret and see the view. It's a gorgeous spot. Needs a bit of work or volunteering to keep it clean which I would be more than happy to help with. It's a gem of a spot and I am in love with the bench area. Supported by KKL-JNF 🙏🏼❤️
