Overall a great experience. The city view at night is priceless. Food and service was good although it was a Friday night. They have like big beer barrels that work as fireplace... Great idea for winter nights. The calamari was tender and gently coated in flour. The hummus with the pita base was yummy. The melted cheese was good too but I wouldn't have it again. This is a highly recommendable if you are a tourist looking for a bit a tranquility in the heart of Melbourne. Don't forget to give me the thumbs up :)

Outdoor ambience across the river. Heater saves the winter but not the rain! Order should be placed at the counter and payment should be done before hand. Though they have large seating, their don't have wide menu range but limited food dishes. Taste and portion of food were average if compared with the price. Normal chips were better than the truffle chips! Chicken burger did not meet the expectations as well. Must try - Prawns 💯 This is a food review, so, not sure about the drinks! It would be better for drinks and little snacks as it has got the perfect view!

🌮🇲🇽🌯 party into the weekend 🏠: @arboryeatery 📍: Northbank Yarra River 📝: Head to Melbourne’s most happening floating bar and cantina on the Yarra. Enjoy tacos and tequilas this season of Afloat Viva Mexico through until the end of this summer. Bite sized snacks to share and pair with cocktails. I do think that the food wasn’t amazing though the drinks were delicious. And the place was really hectic so you don’t really get service here since it’s so busy.

they forget my order and i have to asked 10 time.. literally counted 10 TIMESSSSS!!! only a man food runner who cares and keeps asking if your food coming and the rest just doesn't care at all. they are keep asking me to show the receipt, once i showed them, they are like oh let me follow your f order and i had to wait another 20 minutes.. overall just so bad! luckily i got a free drink cause not only they forgot mine but make my drink wrong too so i got a free drink.

Great place, good food with decent waterfront view. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is sweet. However, you may encounter mice & rodents in some areas close to plants and bushes which is scary!! Also, they could do with investing in new whiskey glasses, the glasses in which I had my two drinks literally had cracks all over the rim.

Food is ok but the steak came out cold and the service is horrible and incredibly rude. Bartenders are talking between themselves in Spanish, and I am from Spain myself, meanwhile customers are waiting, they give a bad face after being asked for cutlery. which you have to pick up by yourself. Prices are really expensive for quality of service. I don’t recommend it

A great place to have a beer and a light dinner while enjoying the romantic of the Yarra River at night. You can order beer separately at counter and order food or snacks using the QR code at the table. Your ID will be checked upon entry, so anyone who looks young must bring your passport. It was so crowded that it was difficult to get a seat or table, but it was a romantic time.

Arbory being packed usually signals the start of spring when everyone’s feeling cheery, thirsty and hungry. You can’t really beat the location, food and service. The place brings a smile on everyone’s face. Keep an eye on your chips, seagulls are about for a free meal too 😁. All good, all creatures happy.

Really nice ambience. Right next to Yarra river with an open table concept. They light fires so you dont freeze. Food didn't wow me. Someone recommended the burgers but the meat patty was quite dry. Service was decent.

Such a cool bar. Love it. Sit up at the bar and watch the world float by while drinking great tap beer and wine, cocktails, great food! This place is a must stop by. It can get really busy. Definitely best around sunset.

I forgot how massive this place is! The whole of the Flinders St platform 10. Haven’t been in a while. Menu very appealing. Cocktails 5 star truly. Alcohol perfectly loaded & priced. Cosmo, Margarita, Raspberry spritz, Gimlet & Rosé. Lovely warm attentive staff. Vitally important for me in a venue. Thanks gang. Food: crispy prawns w squid ink aioli. Very generous serving. So impressed with prawns you can completely demolish. Really very good. Lobster rolls. Thank you very much. I never go past one. Great size. Tasty. Good amount of lobster. More cocktails & spritzes. As we came for lunch on a Thursday not busy at all. Maxie our dog got looked after as well. Thank you Arbory for having a fabulous venue right on public transport overlooking the Yarra. A blissful day.

Iconic bar next to the train station and overlooking the Yarra River. Outdoor bar but you feel enclosed with trees and greenery with wooden decor and furniture. At night there are heaps of fire heaters keeping you nice and toasty on a cool night. One of the only bars that have espresso martini’s on tap! We had a cheese board that could have more fruit or bread but overall a very nice night for a date!

Had a couple glasses of Pinot and their house made Bloody Mary. Both were excellent. Had an order of fries that were very good too. Situated right on the river so the view was good. Their BM was very nice

(Translated by Google) The vegans, as well as fish and beef burgers are recommended. In itself, the restaurant is in a good location. Unfortunately, we were sitting in the back area, which is directly adjacent to the train station, which is why the background noise was very loud. There was also a live DJ. Important: food must be ordered at the counter and then brought to the table!

Had brunch here. It is a beautiful spot to have brunch but food isn't really great. I ordered rump steak and egg, steak was not fresh tough, very chewy with an unpleasant aftertaste. They mentioned in their menu i come in meidum rare but steak was mostly blue and raw. We also orederd fritte which was presented well, however taste was a bit confusing between sweet and some spices in the sauce on top. The salad in the side was really nice Overall, i wish there was better food for such a nice place

First-time eating there. My son loved his double cheeseburger - even ate the pickles! The hotdog was loaded! Nice use of the bread. Cheaper to order directly at the bar, rather than via QR-code. Friendly service and a fantastic location.

Great place in Melbourne for a quick drink or bite! The seats are grab what’s open and go to the bar or use the QR code. We had a couple of beers after our Tara cruise and sat right on the water. The entire bar is on the water. The music was modern and chill. The bartender was friendly!

Went on a Thursday for their $2 Oyster Thursdays and it was further discounted to 6 for $10. You can skip their Chips with Truffle it’s not that good. But we were very pleased with the Mushroom Risotto & Sirloin Steak. Ambience is always great as it’s by the Yarra. What did notice is that they didn’t have much dinner menu available when we went either sold out or not on the list at all like the Southern Fried Chicken Burger that we wanted to try. Would still come back though and hopefully get to try other food options! You can skip the drinks here as it’s a little bit pricey. Down the bridge is a hidden gem where you can find good drinks with a view.

Ate here today for lunch. We had the double cheeseburger (tasty enough, served with chips that were cold) and the pea and ham soup. The soup cost $25, was listed under ‘large meals’ and arrived cold. It also didn’t come with any bread (but of course you could order — and pay for — bread as a side). Cold $25 Small portion No bread Also steak sandwich, also expensive and no fries with it. * I’m laughing at how bad this was Lift your game Oh then there was the coffee. A long black should not come to the table cold. It’s a great location but come on, do better (Also for these prices there should be table service but nope: you have to get your own water and cutlery.)

What a location! Last platform on Flinders Street Railway Station turned into a bar and eatery. With views to the Yarra river and the Southgate skyline this is a place to be. Superb collection of beer on tap, cider on tap, bottled and canned beer, cocktails and every other alcohol one common thinks of. The food menu is so good. The head chef hails from great previous experiences which sings in the quality of food they serve. They also have a floating bar and restaurant on the Yarra River which is an experience in its self.

Saturday lunch. Food was great & everybody at the table was really happy with their choices. Staff were friendly & offered to turn on heater just before we asked. The music was chill & not too loud that you had to shout to be heard. We had a really enjoyable time - would highly recommend to others.

Food was absolutely delicious and came pretty quickly after ordering straight from the table. Great range of beers on tap and despite not being the cheapest in terms of price, the atmosphere within the outdoor eating area was quite nice being situated right on the river. Construction works happening next door and Flinders St Station opposite mean it gets very loud during the middle of the day.

Relaxing place to sit on a sunny day with an iced coffee and reading a book. Nice view over the river, but watch out for the seagulls that will steal food straight off your plate.

On a good weather day, this place is great because of its super cool riverside location and outdoor setting. We parked ourselves and ordered via the QR code menu. The guy who brought out my tea apologised there was no lid for the teapot. What kinda place serves tea without a lid?! Then, I asked for the milk. It came quickly, but she sloshed some of it on herself. Next, our food arrived but without cutlery. By now, a few people were commenting that they aren't very organised here. 🤦‍♀️ The Poke Bowl with Gin cured salmon saved the day. The fresh and wholesome ingredients combined harmoniously, and the pepper mayo topped off the scrumptious meal. Another friend had the Hummus and Flatbread. The serve was generous and the dukkah added interest to the dish. 😋 We'd been here before and had similar experiences - good food, meh service. We return only because the location is so appealing.

Lobster roll was nice, chips were average. Service was a let down, meals were brought out but we were pointed in the direction of cutlery and condiments. Although most were out/not working $22+ for a tap cocktail? For this price point shaken would be expected

Day of the Dead at the Arbory Afloat Bar was mega fun. Tix cost $37pp, which included a delish cocktail, tacos, pizza, DJ, a fabulous mariarchi band, wrestlers (who wrestled), a cool dude dressed in ceremonial costume cleansing ppl with sage, free small mouth shots of tequila...people were on board with dress up, the weather was on board also! Congrats, Arbory, for an awesome night. Staff were friendly and service excellent. Atmosphere super fun🎈❣️

Made an online booking for my birthday. Checked the box for allergy/dietary requirements and gave details. No contact from the Arbory and nothing mentioned on arrival. Our booking of three was seated next to a large, rowdy group who were very obviously intoxicated in what was a near empty venue. Unnecessary and frustrating. We ordered and paid and after a short wait received our meals. Due to dietary restrictions I had looked at the menu ahead of time and decided on the roast, advertised as being served with mash, carrots and other seasonal roast veg. Arrived with gravy, a small pastry, and a few pieces of cabbage and tomato strewn about. Absolute rip for $25, and a big problem for someone who can't eat gluten. I pointed out the difference between what was on my plate and the menu and was told the menu had been changed at lunch time. We ordered via our phones (contactless) so was not impressed that the menu had not been updated. What I received was barely a meal let alone one worth $25. Our waiter offered an apology and a refund and made no attempt to replace with anything suitable. The whole experience was a bust, service was poor, and with patronage down, wouldn't have thought that taking a bit of extra time to address concerns or discuss any menu changes, dietary notes etc would have been too much of a reach. Didn't even get to eat dinner at my own birthday dinner. Thanks heaps guys. Will not be back.

As always - dining at Arbory (whether the Bar & Eatery - or Arbory Afloat) - is always a pleasure ! Staff are professional, courteous ... and fun ... food & beverages always great ... with plenty of choices - even in this strange COVID period!! It was OK. We walked past last weekend on the way to catch a train & it looked like the place to be. Needs some notifications on website or at entrance to better direct patrons. Also feel fries with cheese could have been put under the grill a minute to melt the cheese...asked for tomatoes sauce but it never came & the same server walked past several times.

I discovered Arbory Bar when catching up with mates. Hidden behind Flinders Street Station, and right on the Yarra River, this gem is not worth Missing. With its hip young crowd, garnered by loud pumping music, you'd think you're on the banks of the Thames or Another European capital city. The bar and eatery is serviced by converted shipping containers serving a range of beverages and food offerings. Don't be fooled though, this place is pumping and it's best to get in early if you want a seat.

Popped in for a cider this past week and very much enjoyed the calm and serene atmosphere. The cider was served cold in a pint glass - delicious. The view along the river was pleasant and lovely - great people watching. Staff was friendly and warm - all in all a great place to stop.

I loved this place for it's ambience and location. Its a floating bar which makes it perfectly picturesque, plus the weather of Melbourne makes it even more exciting. They have nicely used the bright pastel colors upholstery against white furnitures which gives this place a lift. It's definitely a good place to catch for a beer and spend some quality time.

Recently had a work Christmas lunch here. What a great venue! Everyone was happy with the food, and even better for a work function, meals are pay at the bar. We were sat in a nice, shady area and able to all sit together which has been an issue at other venues. Highly recommend

One of my favorite watering hole when we could sit in and enjoy the view of the river with the best wines and beers. The service is good and the proximity to Flinders station makes it an apt place to have a few drinks before the travel home.

  • 3/5 Natalie G. 4 years ago on Google
Around 3pm and in the sunshine the vibes at the arbory were great, super chilled and fun. After 6pm it was just way too crowded and the mood definitely changed. The bar staff were rushing and the cocktails that had earlier looked so beautiful were sadly no longer up to scratch. There were no clean glasses/ jugs for a load of the drinks too so we didn’t even have a choice in the end - pimms or pimms! It’s a shame because the views from the Arbory are amazing but I won’t be returning too quickly.

We were staying in this part of town for two nights and decided that we needed to look at the other side of the Yarra River. Less people than on the south warf side. Quick and friendly service with an outside bar (lovely for those balmy nights) with a lovely view and a quiet location right on the Yarra River. Definitely worth a try if looking for something different.
