5 stars for my recent visit during the week in which this restaurant had a vegan menu available. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. The risotto, which I was able to pair with a vegan wine, and the tiramisu, were extremely good. Fantastic to see a progressive step towards having a vegan menu, and hope to see it become permanent.

The food is good. The location is great by the river at the second floor with nice view. The reception staff and the waiter are not friendly with no smile. Didn’t feel the warm welcome and not feel like comfortable to enjoy meal here. I’ve tried to come several time before, each time it is just before or after their closing time unfortunately. Finally we could came to have meal but we wouldn’t come again. Each time the reception lady was not friendly telling us it was closed with an impassive expression. There are more restaurants in this mall to feel comfortable to dine in.

Came here for a random impromptu date night after a show. The atmosphere and particularly the location made it so romantic. The view from the balcony is stunning! If you're able to, ask for a balcony table because it's gorgeous, especially at night - looking out over the water and seeing Flinders Street Station lit up. The food was nice but for what we were paying, it seemed a bit overpriced, especially when a couple of the dishes we ordered were missing ingredients (e.g. my linguine marinara was supposed to have chilli but there wasn't any, and we ordered a side of broccolini but it never came out). The service was OK - the girls were very nice but it was apparent they were a bit inexperienced and didn't feel particularly comfortable in their roles, and the male staff were quite apathetic and abrupt (borderline rude). Ultimately, I guess I would come here again but for a light lunch, just to enjoy the views.

We came here for date night. We got a table facing the river which was nice. We ordered the eggplant chips for entree which was delicious. We ordered lamb shank risotto and seafood spaghetti which tasted authentic. Do save some room for dessert, the self saucing chocolate pudding was divine. Would definitely come back here again!

We had dinner for four yesterday evening to celebrate my brother-in-law’s birthday at this fine establishment. First time at Tutto Bene, and we’ll be back. Great venue, great staff and fabulous meals, we were all very impressed. And I have to say great value; can’t believe it’s our first time there. Add it to your list of favourite restaurants, highly recommended.

Well it was for my birthday so good feels to start with. Really glad I dined there that night. The two risottos we ordered were delicious, and of the same high quality I remember from last time dining there seven years earlier. And terrific attentive wait staff in Jesse and Leniency. I just wished there were more guests there for atmosphere on a mid-winter Friday night. It’s such a beautiful spot overlooking the Yarra and city through clear wall canopy, with cosy heating. Loved it.

I was looking for a place to have dinner on the night of proposing to my now fiance. I wanted a place with a view of the promenade and cityscape to impress her with. I had booked 3 weeks in advance for table 26 which had the best view. The day before our dinner I called to confirm and was advised by the staff that they could not give us table 26 as they had to accommodate for a large group in the same area and said they would try to get us close. Even after reading some of the not so favourable reviews here I thought I would give this place the benefit of doubt. Surely enough I regreted my decision on the night. On the evening they were able to place us at table 26 but that was the only thing that went well. The food for the price we paid was very substandard, my fiance was not able to finish her mushroom risotto and I was not able to finish my calamari main due to how unpleasant it was. We ordered 2 mohito's which which were not authentic cocktails! During our '"romantic dinner" staff, although friendly and polite, over attended to us, frequently interrupting our ability to connect with each. At one point during our dinner staff rearranged a number of tables next to us for a group booking and each time scrapping the tables along the floor making screeching noises like nails on a chalk board. Feeling VERY disappointed with the experience we decided to leave early and as this was not how I wanted to kick off on the night I was going to propose to my girlfriend. The 3-1 star reviews here are consistent with our experience. I would not recommend this restaurant for any occasions.

Pretty expensive ($35-40 for risotto), boring food and lacking portions. I’m all for the concept of simple food done well, so I expected the risotto to be perfect - especially at that hefty price point, and because they’re supposed to *specialise* in risotto. Needless to say, the risotto is extremely boring. If you order any containing meat, don’t expect too much of it. It’s about 98% rice (and whilst I know that’s the primary ingredient of risotto, don’t advertise it as containing duck or chicken if it’s gonna be a scavenger hunt to find it in the dish). Again, I really can’t get over the fact that they charge $40 for a plate of risotto that is not generous nor moreish, and you could go to any other Italian joint (that doesn’t specialise in risotto) and get a better plate, for a lower place. This place is a lose-lose situation. I give it two stars because I like the location and the atmosphere is ok.

Have been here a few times over the years but not sure what’s happening here at the moment. Arrived at 6pm. The only table in the restaurant. Ordered entrees and mains. It was well past 7pm and we had to ask about our mains. There was now 3 other tables at this stage. Mains came out and two of four meals were lukewarm. We asked to have this rectified. The wait staff didn’t seem experienced enough to deal with our table, which is fine, but at no stage did we ever see or speak with anyone that was in charge or managing the restaurant to acknowledge the poor experience we were having. One of our party felt queasy and not well for the rest of the evening because of her meal. There was also a mouse walking around the floor of the restaurant…

Lovely restaurant with great date night atmosphere. On the last Tuesday of every month they host an experimental dining experience called Test Kitchen Tuesday’s which includes 4 courses for $40 - amazing value for menu, the dishes were inventive and my favourite has to be the dessert - a modern take on apple pie, Torta Di Mele

Had the lamb shoulder, side of potatoes and greens, with tiramisu to finish. Great venue with excellent views fronting the Yarra and the city, ask for a spot on the balcony. Friendly staff and good food.

Warm, easy and friendly service. A relaxed, tidy and comfortable venue perfect place for a meal with a view of the yarra river, close to the melbourne cbd and attractions, good sample of More than decent italian food melbourne was and is still associated with. Pricing is reasonable for the Southgate precinct. It continues to impress guests (with kids from interstate). The gnocchi was pillowy, the mushroom risotto not undercooked and full of shroomy goodness. the calamari dish was generous. The rucolla salad could be improved with being a little less tart and using fresh sliced pears instead. this one of the few restaurants at southgate that has withstood the decades! i wish it the best and hope it stays with melbourne for decades to come. ps delicious gelatos here too.

Amazing food and wine, but more importantly, amazing staff. A friend and I were looking for a restaurant for dinner before a concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Everywhere else was fully booked, but the manager kindly gave us a table as we promised to vacate well before their booked guests arrived. The food came out quick and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place for good Italian and excellent service.

Excellent selection of risotto. Perfect temperature, lovely flavours - especially the Pollo. Not a lot of choice if you’re not after risotto, though. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere, breezy and sunny. Been multiple times and would go again!

We needed a quick dinner prior to seeing Phantom at the Arts Centre. We had often walked past Tutto Bene and thought it looked great, and being fans of all things Italian, we gave it a go for dinner! The indoor space of the restaurant is nice, quite open and welcoming. The outdoor space needs a revamp - it seemed a little dirty and tired. In fact, perhaps all the tables/chairs could be replaced, it just lacks the OOMPH required for a restaurant to make you want to come back or recommend to your friends. We were surprised to see not one pizza on the menu. For an Italian restaurant, this is unheard of. The food we ordered (shared a large calamari, I had duck arancini and my husband had the sardines) was tasty. We decided on entrees as we thought it would be quicker - which it was - but the pasta and risotto around us also looked good. Although we had quite a wait to get a staff member's attention to order, we told our eventual waitress (who barely seemed to understand English) multiple times that we HAD to leave by a certain time, to make it in time to our show... and our meals arrived promptly, so that was good. The beer was cold, a bonus on a hot night! The manager, who had taken us to our table, never returned with the sparkling water we ordered. Sadly, a reflection on the attention to detail of Tutto Bene. Would love to come back when they get their staffing right and give the place a bit of a spruce up, as it's in a great location and the chef clearly knows his stuff!

We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our family and had a lovely meal in a lovely location. The food was excellent and staff also, who were very attentive to us without us having to look for attention at any time. The front of house girls were well presented, courteous and professional at all times. We had a lovely family dinner with a beautiful view over the river. It is well located.

Sat down, ordered a meal. Got entre and drinks and then a group of customers were seated on the balcony as reserved bookings and our main was left uncooked for over 45minutes. With two check ins by staff to see where our meal was our meal continued to be left uncooked. Meal was prepared as we left Is disgust at the lack of accountability to customer service, late to a show, and hungry. Thanks for ruining what was supposed to be a nice night out as a rare treat. Don’t waste your money or your time. Oh and be prepared to have eyes rolled at you for their incompetence.

Spring weekend lunch - wanted a place with a view & ideal for work & leisure !!! Good food but very slow grumpy girls at work - smiling back to customers is not their thing😄!! Dined inside then ordered my drinks from the courtyard/ balcony. Enjoyed my peace and quiet as customers would come and just walk away. Besides the waiters being aloof, a little TLC would work magic to improve the ambiance. Ideally a very good spot if only........ lots need to go in to make it popular again!! Anywho, I needed to smash-up some work backlog and the quietness in this place worked in my favor 🙌

Look, at first I thought La Camera was THE Italian place to dine along the river.. But Buoy was I wrong... loved the ambience and setting at Tutto Bene. And staff were courteous enough to ask if we had an upcoming show that evening. Food and service was amazing with our meals arriving super fast. Sorry, La Camera. It's not you, it's Tutto Bene...

The perfect pre-show dinner. Service was timely and the staff were friendly, responsive and attentive. We each had a different risotto. Both were excellent. The flavours of both were perfectly balanced and the texture was smooth and silky. Yum!! Try it Now. Tutto Bene!

We came as small group and were given a set menu for a 2 course. The risotto dominated the main course where there was four varieties and only two others to choose from a pasta in a meat dish. Would’ve like to see more of a variety in the set menu as it was very quite restricted. Food was quite good and price was reasonable as well as the setting and service.
