Cookie was a restaurant/bar in the CBD serving Thai-influenced Asian fusion cuisine. The meals were consistently flavourful (crispy pork belly remained my fave!) and quite generously portioned designed for sharing so it was a great option for group gatherings. Service was a bit below average; it was hard to get staff’s attention and it was always so loud inside, but overall it was a pretty good dining experience.

Came here on a Thursday night and though it was busy, we managed to get a table. Staff seemed busy and were not very attentive. Had a betel leaf starter which was delicious, but then a huge wait for mains. Also one drink didn’t come for ages, and we struggled to flag staff down to remind them. We had to remind two staff before it came. It was quite a pricey meal for what it was.

Amazing dinner food as always. The cocktails took about 40 mins today so a little bit too long to get a second drink while we were eating.

Ambience: Dim lighting, with vintage ceilings, modern wallpapered walls. 3 window side seating. Table setup: Vintage table cloths and crockery. Wasn’t very impressed. They could up this part of the restaurant Food: Generous portions and tasty. Worth the buck. Cocktail was good too. Wait time: Average and service was good.

Cookie was beautiful with wonderful staff and really nice food and drinks. If you’re looking for a place for casual dinner and drinks this is it. Everyone was lovely and the place was buzzing with life on a Friday night. The only downside is the long wait for cocktails on busy nights which is unavoidable, and the venue is quite loud when it’s packed with music and good conversations. However still remains a great place for drinks and dinner with a group, and a nice place in the centre of the city to enjoy a night out, with a club and bar upstairs as well with a quieter vibe to chat and hang out.

Can't go wrong with the food here, so full of flavour and absolutely delicious. Managed to get a table for two in the balcony and the Melbourne ☀️ even came out to celebrate with us. Apologies for the empty plates pic, although they do speak volumes.

Nice vibe. Food was decent. Thai green curry is tasty. Prawn curry not so much. Place had strong paint smell. Better to have a reservation before coming.

Don't look at the menu and turn back. Looks pricey but they are big portion sizes. I was hungry when I got there just the entree filled me up and I didn't even finish the two mains I got. So one dish serves 2-3 easily. If you are unsure ask the staff. Great recommendations from the guy behind the bar.

The food was delicious but I feel like for what I was getting I could find the same elsewhere for a lower price? Such as the dish that resembled pad see ew. It’s really a dish-dependent issue. For Thai food I am just so used to paying much less. Still a very nice place to go with friends for a night out, and there were some stand out dishes like the flower dumplings, never seen that anywhere else.

Cookie is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. With its trendy ambiance and delectable fusion Thai cuisine, it's a must-visit spot. Opting for the vegan options, we were pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and satisfying the dishes were. The Pad Thai was particularly outstanding, bursting with authentic Thai flavors. Our waitress was not only lovely but also incredibly patient, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place with great vibes and even better food, Cookie is the place to be!

Nice chill atmosphere. The dim lighting contributes to the cozy, intimate ambience. Food was good. Went for the drunken noodles with minced pork and papaya salad with fried fish. Wide selection of drinks, cocktails. The place is located at level 1 of Curtin House building.

Really pleased with all the dishes we chose, as well as the cocktails and wine choice. Our waitress was so lovely recommending great dishes - attentive but not overbearing. The whole snapper is unreal and the atmosphere is cool. It's buzzing but not too loud or dark that you can't have a good chat.

I had an incredible dining experience at Cookie, where they serve fusion Thai dishes. The flavours in every dish we ordered were simply delicious! their menu was innovative and extensive which left me in awe. The ambiance was great, with a cool and funky vibe and dim lights. We got the tapioca dumplings, and baked scallops, spicy soft shell crab with mushroom broth, thai green curry and coconut rice. Everything was on point with the food and I will be back to try other items from their menu. While the service could be improved, I understand that it was a busy Saturday night. Overall, I give Cookie a solid 5 stars!

A Sweet Surprise, But Not Quite Thai I recently visited Cookie with high expectations for an authentic Thai culinary experience. However, I found myself in for a surprise as the flavors on the menu leaned heavily towards sweetness, reminiscent of Gujarati cuisine rather than the expected Thai delights. The dishes, while well-presented, lacked the distinctive balance of spicy, sour, salty, and sweet that characterizes traditional Thai cuisine. Instead, the predominant sweetness overshadowed the nuanced flavors I was anticipating. The Pad Thai, typically a savory and tangy noodle dish, was unexpectedly sweet, reminiscent of a dessert rather than a main course. Even the curries, which are known for their complex and aromatic profiles, seemed to have taken a detour into the realm of sweetness. While some may appreciate a milder flavor profile, it deviated significantly from the authentic Thai taste I was hoping to savor. On a positive note, the service was attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making the dining experience enjoyable despite the unexpected flavor palette. In conclusion, if you have a sweet tooth and are open to a fusion of Thai and Gujarati influences, Cookie might be an interesting choice. However, for those seeking a more traditional Thai culinary adventure, this establishment might not fully deliver on expectations.

Nice atmosphere and good food. Was relatively busy on a weeknight which may attest to their popularity as a Thai spot. Our entrees and smaller dishes were better than our mains. Maybe we just got the wrong things. Will be coming back to try the other things on their extensive menu.

Delicious food with really good service. It was a little bit “too dark” for eating. Nevertheless would highly recommend to go there.

Ahh new job, new people to teach that the camera eats first. But don't worry, by the time dessert came out, our CFO asked if I had taken my photo yet before he dug in 💁‍♀️ We celebrated our Christmas lunch at Cookie and believe me, there was MUFFIN CRUMBY about it! 🎅 On the menu: SMALL DISHES 🍃 DIY betel bliss bombs, betel leaves, peanuts, lime, toasted coconut, ginger, onion & dried shrimp with a sticky coconut & shrimp sauce 🍠 Sweet potato & young coconut cigars, orange & chilli sauce ⭐️ 🦈 Thai herb cured kingfish with radish & green chilli 🐙 Salt & pepper calamari, sweet chilli sauce 🥟 Tapioca dumplings, lotus root, pickled turnip & peanuts ⭐️ 🐽 Grilled Thai sausage, cucumber, cabbage, ginger, chilli 🍗 Fried chicken wings, Thai BBQ sauce MEDIUM DISHES 🐟 Crispy fish salad, green papaya, peanuts & ground dried shrimp 🍜 Drunken noodles - minced pork, tomato, Thai basil & chilli 🐟 Deep fried rockling, tamarind, chilli & pineapple sauce ⭐️ 🐮 Yellow beef curry with egg, shallot & chilli ⭐️ LARGE 🐣 Turmeric chicken maryland, salted duck egg, dried shrimp & ginger salad 🐄 Beef ribs, lemongrass, lychee & star anise ⭐️ DESSERT 🍌 Banana fritters, vanilla ice cream & honey WINE 🍷 2022 Pinot Noir Tolpuddle - Coal River Valley 🍷 2020 Shiraz Head Blonde 20 - Barossa Valley 🥂 2022 Chardonnay 22 - Domenica - Beechworth 🥂 2023 Rieslingfreak No 12 - Flaxman Valley 🥂 NV Chardonnay – Chandon “Blanc de Blanc” Brut - Yarra Valley I had decent expectations given that I had been to their sister restaurant Magic Mountain Saloon and loved it, but this was even BATTER than expected (seriously I think we ate the entire menu).🤤 It's so hard to choose favourite dishes, honestly there wasn't a single one that disappointed. But if you're one to say I absolutely KNEAD to choose, I have put a ⭐️ next to the ones I still have happy memories about ❣️ I have been given permission to organise all team celebrations from now on (not gonna SUGARcoat it, I did a great job 😇). I will BAKE the most of this to eat at more places I want to try using company funds 😉

Our group of 4 chose to have the Feed Me $60pp option. The amount of food was the perfect amount and was delicious. No bad dish. Great service and ambiance. Definitely worth booking a table.

The restaurant is on the first floor of curtain house. Easy to find and locate. The restaurant wasn't crowded so it had enough seating areas. I loved the ambiance, the colors they've used, and the lighting. The staff was amazing, very friendly and very helpful. It was very hot and sunny day but they made sure to take necessary actions to keep the place cool. We ordered Padthai egg noodle with extra chicken. The food was good and the given quantity was more than enough for two people to share. To make it spicy they have added some chili flakes in the corner of the plate which I did not appreciate much. It would have given separately as salt and pepper or mix it with the noodles. Other than that food was good.

Wow some of the best food I’ve ever had. The fat rice noodles with duck was one of the most delicious things that I’ve ever had. The pad Thai was amazing and the tofu was sensational

Hoped to enjoy the food more based on the previous reviews. Ambience is great! Taste didn’t live up to the price. Pad thai wasn’t well seasoned. Garlic chive dumpling was good.

This place has a nice and cozy vibe. The hosts are friendly and service is quick. We ordered the Pash Rash and Mai Tai which both tasted good. The Betel Bliss Bombs were great with such amazing flavor! The Penang lamb curry was very well balanced with the lamb cooked to perfection. The only exception being the ribs which were a tad bit overcooked and didn't taste that great (probably because the bliss bombs and penang curry were really good) Overall, Cookie has been a good experience. The ambience and music is nice and hosts are very friendly. Would definitely visit this place again

Probably one of the best Asian fusion cuisine in Melbourne and the amazing quirky interior. Can't ever get enough of most of the dishes. The pork in Betal leaf is a must try.

Went to Cookie on a Sunday night, the place was not very busy but it did take quite a while for our group to receive our food and drinks with some of the drinks coming after the food was already served. The portion sizes were decent for the price and we really enjoyed the Deep Fried Rockling and Pad Thai. However, the drinks were a let down. We ordered two frozen daiquiris (lychee basil) and (strawberry chilli) both tasted great and were presented nicely however they seemed to have very little alcohol in them. Overall I would give it one more try as I enjoyed the food but the service and drinks could be improved.

What an amazing place! The food is fantastic. Both tasty and aesthetically pleasing. There is a MASSIVE cocktail menu. I had a Bend The Knee and it was incredible. Accompanied by the Drunken Noodles which were spicy and had incredible flavour. Good vibes, quick service, and delicious food & drink.

Food took 3 hours to come out during a Sunday lunch (had 2 small dishes, 2 medium and 1 large). Not sure what was going on but the table next to us came after and got some of their dishes before us. Staff were really apologetic about the wait though (was hoping for a discount or something but didn't happen). The place smells a bit musty too which I'm guessing is due to the old building it's in. Giving it a 4 though cos the food was really really good! It was worth the wait as we weren't in a rush on that day, but if you have a strict time frame then you might want to go elsewhere

Absolutely delicious food, a great menu. Me and a friend shared 3 starters and one main, we left very full. The staff were also lovely and friendly. Would recommend and already want to go back!

This place still is excellent after a 3.5 years gap. My favourite bar in Melbourne and still have great service, drinks and food. The wait staff where very helpful and attentive.

The ambiance and the feel were very good. A wide range of Beers, Cocktails and Wines. But the food was disappointing. It was not worthy of what they charged. We ordered Pad Thai and it had so much ketchup(!) in it that you cannot even taste anything else🙄. Thai Green Curry tasted like raw turmeric soup. Garlic and Chive dumpling was good.

Great team lunch venue with super delicious green curry. Always great for a shared experience if you can, otherwise limit yourself to the medium sized plates plus rice.

What a great surprise - in amongst the trashy shops of Swanston St, there is a bar and restaurant that would not look out of place in the cities of Europe or Asia. Climb the dark and quirky stairs and you will be rewarded with a fantastic bar and restaurant, really friendly staff and terrific Thai food. We siding have a booking for lunch, and the main restaurant was full, so we were shown to another open and light filled area, ordered our drinks and meals directly from the bar, and had a wonderful time. Great ambience, great vibes. This place must really jump at night! The food was really good and the Drunken Noodles a stand out. Worth the search and effort on the stairs (they do have a lift!).

Came here with a friend on a Wednesday after 6pm and were given drinks menu's first then ordered our drinks after a short wait, the place was quite busy and we got sat at a table for 4 even though there were only 2 for the booking so I think the staff thought we were waiting for more to arrive otherwise I think we would have been served quicker. We were then given food menu's once we'd ordered drinks and given glasses of water (which was topped up for us throughout the evening). Our food order was taken quick enough once we finally decided what to order, we asked a member of staff that topped up our water what is recommended and how many small dishes between 2. We ended up ordering 3 small dishes plus a side to share. The food came out very quick, the drinks a little longer as we both ordered daiquiris as well as a lot of others and they were down to one working blender that evening but they were worth the wait, absolutely delicious. The food was most enjoyable, very flavoursome, portion size was good to share and presentation of all was very appealing. I'd definitely return and try other dishes. The staff were very quick to clear our plates etc away and brought a candle over for the middle of the table, the staff are very well presented and friendly. The prices aren't too bad either for what you get and the quality.

ORDERED: 🍃  DIY betel bliss bombs: betel leaves, peanuts, lime, toasted coconut, ginger, onion & dried shrimp with sticky coconut & shrimp sauce ($25.00) 🥗  Som Tam: green papaya with avocado, dried shrimp & peanuts ($18.00) 🌽  Spicy jungle with tofu, baby corn & pumpkin ($28.00) 🐟 Deep fried snapper, chilli, garlic & crispy Thai basil ($41.00) 🍚 Coconut rice ($6.00) 🍹  Virgin Pina Colada ($11.00) *off menu! REVIEW: 🧡 The DIY betel bliss bomb were my favourite at Cookie! You can choose and create the most delicious, flavour filled combinations that create really fun experiences. You can also leave certain ingredients out and it wouldn't impact the taste too much. It really is a DIY experience. My only wish is that they provided more utensils between two, or else one person was using their hands to pick the ingredients into your leaf, and the other was using the provided fork. 🖐️ ✖️ The mains were a miss for me. I expected the som tam to have more tartness, but tasted very mellow. Similar to all the other dishes we had, with the spicy tofu feeling very heavy and the deep fried snapper not particularly crispy. It was nice Cookie carved out the meat and fried it separately, but I was expecting to be able to snack on the crispy "deep fried" tail fin at the very least. 😥 Coconut rice didn't leave a particularly fragrance of coconut either. I feel like there was so much potential, but it was missing that extra effort of flavour and citrus/tangy punch that I would have expected from a menu that is very heavily Thai inspired. ✔️ Service was fantastic. They were able to make a bespoke mocktail for us which was greatly appreciated. Much love to the bartender!

Yummy food and drinks! The feed me menu offers a good amount of food, well enough. Really enjoyed it. The cocktails are also really nice.

Beautiful decor and fun. Our table however though was next to a wall and there was a bad smelling from pipes. Food was fusion and creative. We would prefer the crockery to be real ceramic to plastic as if feels cheaper and the food price was not cheap.

Incredible food! Nice well cooked Thai green curry, not spicy. Fat rice noodles with duck was nicely cooked with a spicy tone. We enjoyed our lunch here.
