I have been to many different branches and have always enjoyed the food. Today I did not enjoy the experience. The new tag line is clean is the new healthy, but the standard of cleanliness left something to be desired. The condiment section and the napkin holders on the tables could have been much cleaner. Also the music was too loud. To be clear, I did like the food and service, but the surroundings need attention. In future, I will be inclined to visit a different branch. Went back. No longer have condiments. Ate outside and the lack of cleaning attracted the birds. Not a waste bin to be seen. Should have read my previous review and gone to another branch.

Can’t go wrong with GYG. Ordered a few different things today. My order was prepared within 10 minutes or so after ordering via the app. The burrito is as good as always. I also tried out the mini burrito bowl, which turned out really filling. To share, I ordered the mini nachos with grilled chicken. In my opinion, I’d go for the mini options any day since it’s cheaper but the portions do fill you up.

This evening I had an awkward moment. My friend helped to pay my order and we can't dine in due to covid. So we dined in Melbourne Central. I checked the bag and there was no fork or spoon added. I asked one Asian lady at the Asian takeaway and she refused to give me a fork or spoon because I had to order Chinese meal with a paid fork and spoon. So I walked back to my Guzzies bowl and use Corn chips as survival kit. Also there was no bottle opener, so I had to use a table to release the cap and it flew up to the ceiling. Lucky it didn't hit somebody. Great Guzzies, finally finished my meal. This is my third time I didn't get fork. I give 4 out of 5 for a missing fork or spoon. I wouldn't give 3 out of 5, because I managed to open the bottle of soda and no accident.

Ideally located, Guzman y Gomez offers a variety of delicious traditional Mexican Food. The ambience is vibrant and welcoming, with service staff that are very friendly. Always buzzing with clientele, this place is a must on the Mexican Food radar..

Had a solid meal at this Mexican spot near the busy train station. Food's a bit pricey, but you won't leave hungry – portions are big. Ambience is alright, nothing fancy. Service is super quick, perfect for a fast bite in the midst of the hustle and bustle. Overall, good if you're up for tasty Mexican, don't mind spending a bit more, and want a speedy meal.

Added guacamole to a breakfast burrito and had to eat all the way to the bottom to taste some…even then there’s hardly anything in there. I didn’t add guacamole to eat the whole burrito without it mixed in. What’s the point of spreading the bacon, hash browns, eggs throughout the burrito but not the guacamole? Dreadful customer service too, didn’t receive one of our drinks and when asking about the guacamole, she told me it’s “inside and to just eat through” Won’t come back here again

I really like GYG but this time you got it completely wrong, ordered nachos and was given something else (spicy burrito) There seemed to be a recently growing number of very bad reviews of this store.. and it seems they are correct.

I order a bowl and asked for an extra chicken portion and they didn’t put it. The chicken was burnt and also there was no cheese on it. They basically didn’t put nothing on the bowl!!! It seems this is rest of someone else’s food. That’s a shame. It’s the second time that happens with me ordering with them. The first I didn’t complain but it seems they don’t care when they make food for uber eats.

Saw a large older man keep touching younger male and female staff members. Gave me the heebie jeebies. Also they got my order wrong three times and kept putting onions in which I am allergic to when asked for none :( Update: Onion in my latest order too.

Great place for a quick and tasty Mexican meal . Has all the basic choices and their burritos are fresh and healthy. Must try the nachos if you are looking for something nice and quick. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Parking nearby shopping center. Friendly and attentive staff. Service was quick. Price was reasonable but tacos could have been better with more meat fillings and chips a bit more crispy.

We came here for a quick lunch and ordered the 3 hard shell tacos with fries on the side. The place was packed, so we had to wait until our number was called. Loved the tacos with the stuffing. I thought 3 wouldn’t be enough, but the portion was perfect. Great place for a quick meal with a drink.

I am an ubereats deliverer. I deliver food to other people but I am always in a situation of hungry and tireness. The reason is doing this job I have no time to eat properly, I mean I can’t eat while pedaling my ebike (zoomo is a real bad ebike cause I have to pedal in order to run the motor). Since knowing Guzman has offered Make it a Meal, which only costs 10 aud, I am able to afford the meal and I like eat 2-3 times a day.

Haven’t had G&G for ages and saw this place open a couple of weeks ago. I really like the interior layout and the materials they used to create a Mexican atmosphere. Service was efficient and quick. I got a chicken burrito and personally, I didn’t like the chicken. Wasn’t too tender and pretty chewy. The other ingredients were tasty and fresh.

Mixed feelings overall about this one. A wide menu with lots of good selections available - most offerings seem pretty fairly priced. The staff were friendly and worked very efficiently - the issue is that I went during a midday lunch rush, and for staff it is essentially mission impossible. The line practically reached out the door and there were around twenty people waiting for orders. So despite having a lot of staff on, and staff working really well and putting out orders very fast, it’s just impossible for wait times to not be long. Probably waited around 15 minutes for nachos. The nachos themselves were delicious, and found comfortable seating in the restaurant. The crazy lunch rush does mean staff aren’t really able to do jobs like changing bins and wiping tables (I don’t blame them). Overall would recommend, just try go during a non rush period.

Food is okay. You can get better quality in other branches. Busy branch, hence, noise and cleanliness will be an issue. Order numbers being shouted is a bit inconvenient. A digital number on display is more convenient for staff and patrons. In rush times, you’ll queue for minutes to order. Online ordering would be a great addition to the service.

Open 24 hours, which is great when you need a late night snack after bar hopping. Fast service, but the place could definitely use a full-time cleaner as tables, floors, and bins were pretty grubby. Staff were lovely. Food is always good!

It takes 15 minutes to walk to your store and when i came back home to find out the team missed to add one burrito bowl. I had to go back to the store. I was expecting my order to be made from the scratch. They added the old box they forgot ru put in. They were laughing at their mistake and I'm going to eat this cold burrito bowl. Such a terrible customer experience today!

Waited 20 mins for a $3 taco. When I went up and asked, the guy went ahead and checked asked someone to make it and gave it to me with a "here you go" no apology no nothing for forgetting my order which was the smallest item. I stood and watched everyone for 20 mins. A sorry would've sufficed. Wonderful customer service

Order nachos 1. Half the nachos are chewy not crunchy 2. The guacamole wasn't really guacamole it's just avo? Like it's literally a funking slab of avo slapped on top I thought it was hard because of the nachos but it's just one block of nachos? Quality control is shocking it's amazing you can manage to do worse than Maccas

Guzman on Swanston has quickly become my go to CBD late night eat. Can’t beat the Cali Burrito with pulled pork or just a few $3 tacos to satisfy your 3am Mexican cravings.

I am super annoyed! I bought a enchilada which bring a blonde/white hair inside!!! My hair is long and black so of course it is not mine, and it was inside the enchilada! It is super disgusting! I used to buy my dinner there, but definitely and unfortunately will be the last time.

I recently visited here for a quick bite, and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. Despite the bustling crowd, the staff provided exceptional, lightning-fast service, both in preparing orders and delivering them. Now, let's talk about the food. I opted for the chicken soft tacos, and they were an absolute delight. Fresh, delicious, and perfectly tailored to satisfy my taste buds. I can't get enough of their tacos; they leave me wanting more every time. I wholeheartedly recommend Guzman y Gomez to anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine. It's a must-try for food enthusiasts looking for an outstanding dining experience.

Good fast food option with big food portions; especially If you like mexican combinations. However some of the foods aren't so big and rich on Mexican flavors and spices that you might be expecting, which is a shame. But overall, Service is good, food is good and considering the atmosphere, 4-star sounds like a fair rating for this place.

I went here for lunch with a friend. I had nachos with ground beef and it was delicious. I'm happy the food isn't super spicy (when you order mild). We came back later for churros and tried both dipping sauces. They're great. This restaurant is in a good location too: just a short walk from Melbourne Central.

I’m not sure what all the hype is about. Burrito bowl ordered and I asked for extra chicken. There was probably 8 cubes of chicken and a huge serve of rice and way too much black beans. That doesn’t really represent extra chicken. Flavour was ok, but not in any kind of hurry to eat there again. Service was fast and friendly.

So thankful to the people who are working late on Friday Saturday nights 🙏🙏 you are going god's work and I deeply appreciate it. One of the places at is open after a night out and always delivers. It is always so busy and I just have to commend and show my deep appreciation for the staff working at these times. Always as tasty as always no matter the time of day.

A well located stablishment, Guzman y Gomez offers a range of Mexican Food that will surely delight the palate. Its service Staff is friendly and attentive to customers. The athmosphere is very warm and welcoming, with music from the Latin America always giving the place a good vibe.

I ordered the nacho fries. The chips were cold and squishy. I waited 20 minutes for the food, which wasn't too bad, expecting hot food but it wasn't. Got takeaway, but was busy in the restaurant. Bit disappointed, although apart from the fries the meal was good enough to eat.

This might just be temporary due to the current lockdown in Melbourne, but when I ordered a chicken burrito recently, I wasn't asked what fillings I wanted at all, and when I opened it to eat, I found that it was about 80% plain white rice, some beans, a bit of chicken and tomato salsa. No cheese, no salad of any kind. Seemed a bit bland and a bit stingy. Like I said, maybe they're cutting corners to stay profitable given low customer numbers, but I was a bit unimpressed.

This branch is a joke. Bought a burrito bowl with chips and med drink combo, order arrived with no drink no chips. In addition, extra Jalapenos missing, extra serving of chicken missing, chimi mex mayo, missing. Out of 4 extra items on top of the standard bowl, all 4 were missing. Honestly, the order comes with a giant list that is hard to miss, and above all the price tag at the bottom surely gives it away that hey, maybe this isn't the base item of $13, the 3 and the 1 is flipped around. I mean 0/4 this is beyond a failure, this is an abomination. I really wish I can give you guys a 0

Worst branch of an amazing chain.. love Guzman and Gomez but decided I will no longer order from this store as every time I do they mess up my order! Today I order 2x burrito meals and received only 1 burrito, 2 chips and no drinks so I reordered my one burrito and the two drinks and received 1 drink and some tacos! Such terrible service, it’s like they don’t check what goes in the bag they just chuck in anything! Most frustrating thing is I’m vegetarian so the beef tacos they sent I can’t even eat. Last time I ordered a veggie burrito and it was labelled vegetarian but was chicken when I bit into it!! So disappointing- sort it out Guzman and Gomez!!

Never tried these guys before went there on a whim and they were amazing !! Best nachos I've EVER eaten. Choose your own type of meat from mince ,chicken ect i had the slow cooked beef which I had 2 nights in a row they were mouthwatering delicious the beef just falls apart and melts in your mouth.Of course then you can add on chips and extras to make larger meals, for me the nachos themseves were filling and for $14 i thought were reasonably priced. If you love Mexican definitely try these guys. Trust me even though they aren't smothered in cheese or sour cream you will love them.I will definitely be going back again. Next time to try $3 tacos.

Absolutely horrendous quality control and complete disregard for their customers. Ordered 2 enchiladas and a large chips to take away. When they brought out my order, it only had 1 enchilada in it, told them the order was wrong. Took them another 20 minutes before they got our order done and the chips were tipped upside down in the bag. Next time I go to this place you might as well just spit in my face instead of serving me, that would be better than waiting 20 minutes for you to screw my order up. Imagine paying $35 and waiting 25+ minutes for this experience. If you like lacklustre customer service, terrible quality control, fishing all your chips out of the bottom of a bag and you want to pay for it as well? Look no further than GYG. UPDATE: Just got home and we were ready to eat the enchilladas. My partner ordered a vegetarian enchillada with no onions as she gets an adverse reaction when she eats onion. She opens up the enchillada and there are sizeable bits of onions in there. Why even give us the options for no onions if you just ignore it?

Now that I have become accustomed to the sky high prices of my local Mexican takeaway I have a new found appreciation for the reasonable GYG! Today I had a super yummy and extremely filling beef burrito that was ready in an impressively speedy fashion

Decent, affordable Mexican food. They have great deals on tacos and a few vegetarian and vegan options, which is always good. I really enjoyed myself! It was a little tough to communicate with the people at the front, however we were able to and that’s what matters.

  • 4/5 Deep P. 1 year ago on Google
had veggie nachos were decent and burrito bowl was good enough with flavours but not as much you’d expect from typical Mexican. Quantity was quite fulfilling.

  • 1/5 Minh M. 1 year ago on Google
It was my first time here and I wanted 4 tacos so I ordered 4 tacos, meaning the 3 tacos combo and the “add 1 taco for $3” promotion. I got charged $5 for the extra taco. I questioned it and the clerk explained I should’ve said $3 taco instead (how would I know I never got any explanation about the difference between the two before I placed my order). He later said the extra taco would be different and has extra pickles, extra toppings, and they already made it so he couldn’t change my order, and they seemed busy so I just went with it. But when I got home and tried all the tacos tasted the same? The $5 one looked and tasted exactly like the other 3?

A really nice Mexican food place, the portion size is a little small, but the food is delicious. I loved the guacamole paste and nachos. Highly recommended for Mexican food

Came in at 2 am on a Sunday night, next to no customers, restaurant is trashed, not a single clean table, rubbish on the floor everywhere. 0 pride in upkeep of the store. Food is below average, overpriced.
