The bartender is extremely rude. We were at the venue not more than 6 or 7 minutes before he came and started telling us in a really condescending tune that we need to leave as we haven't bought any drinks. Whereas in the short amount of time we were there, few customers were returned because they had stopped serving drinks. The bar was empty except one other group and even If he wanted us to move out for whatever reason than could have asked politely instead of being extremely rude. From the other reviews it is evident that there is some problem with the bartenders at this venue maybe the management needs to take a look before people stop coming. You gotta realize that being polite is big part of hospitality.

I loved this little place, until I visited last weekend. The female bar tender working on Saturday 19 October at 6pm was consistently rude and miserable. 'Please' and 'thank you' were absent words. Three stars as I like the cocktails and ambiance; however, the bar tender needs to be made aware that she isn't providing a favour. I hope my next visit restores my confidence.

The service here is so poor! I have visited Jane Doe a few times, as it is in a great location, however, each time I go the service gets worse. Management or the person who seems to be in charge, has a poor attitude and is ALWAYS rude. I’d rather spend money somewhere else. Sorry Jane

I have a thing for vevelvet cosy couchs. Comfortable, people watching, perfect spot. Not to loud although we here during the day over a night time setting, passed by and stop for a cocktails or two

Fairly cool if you like the settings of a vintageop shop lounge, but boy drinks, eek I asked for vodka & lemon and that what I got, I couldn't drink it because it was so sour! 1 sip and doubt I be back - trained bartenders expected when your paying $$ Give you 2 stars tho for using recycable straws.

If the cheap and tacky plastic decor wasn’t bad enough the attitude and friendly nature from the red headed manager would surly make you want to come back..... NOT!

Hi, I don’t usually do this to be honest but the service I got here was so rude I had to say something! I don’t know if the guy, “Joseph” (I don’t believe that was his name maybe it was) behind the bar was tired or what his problem was but there was no excuse for him to be so rude! I couldn’t believe it. We went up and asked what the specialities about the bar were and he replied “nothing.” I was quite taken back by his blunt reply. I’ve worked in customer service and I did not like the way he spoke to my friends and I. We asked him what his drink of preference was to get a gage of what would be nice to drink, he replied saying “I don’t want to say because it might not be what your favourite drink is.” I wasn’t phased by the comment, it was the way in which it was convicted that I had a problem with. He was awful, and we left straight away. I will be telling my friends NOT to come here purely because of him. I did like the lounge setting though... great atmosphere!

I don't typically frequent this area & as popular as the 'area' is, it's not typically for me. That said, I have occasionally walked past this bar & often taken notice. Something about the lounging being set up to view an outward sliver of the Chapel St 'goings-on', whilst lounging on the comfy seats. I haven't tested the bar capabilities (I'm a simple man) but I'm under the impression this is a competent cocktail bar. Very relaxing between the booze & the tunes.

A room full of couches to sink into, glassware as decor, and an open front make it feel like you're drinking in a friend's living room. Cocktails are great and reasonably priced ($16 currently). Service is very friendly but occasionally a little slow if a few people order drinks at once. Sometimes there are doggies around.

Great place to sit and relax with a nice cold non alcoholic beer. They have a great selection of cocktails, beers and wine as well as a generous happy hour 🍻 great people watching place too! Thanks team for always making me feel welcome

Had a lovely conversation with a young man named Steven. He was an absolute gentleman and helped me and my partner with drink choices, was very knowledgeable and just a genuinely nice person. The customer service given by him will have us back again and again. Thanks Steven!

The overall atmosphere of the place is OK. Nevertheless I've had a few unpleasant experiences here. For example, one time I took a friend there who doesn't drink alcoholic beverages, and they basically just refused to serve him unless he'd order something alcoholic. I said I'd pay the full cocktail price for a mocktail and they just outright refused. It was all very strange. For another example, I tried to drop in for a drink earlier tonight and the service was very bad. It's kind of hard to explain the situation, but basically I began to ask if the bar was still open, and then corrected myself mid-sentence (since it clearly was), and then got a smart-arse reply from a member of the staff. The member of staff then proceeded to spend the next few minutes boasting to his friend about how he didn't get the position because of his social skills. The other staff member just laughed along with the tirade. After a few minutes of waiting for service and not getting any, I left shaking my head. Long story short, I think the place would be improved by better customer service. I wouldn't recommend the place as it currently stands.

Never coming to this place again. Guy was so rude to me. Wouldn’t even serve me a drink. It was my grandma’s birthday. He called her on ledge rent and then punched her in the face. Definitely going to revolve the next time they were so inclusive to us. 🥰❤️

Average bar on Chapel st. Nothing super special to report but also nothing disappointing about the place either. Prices are as expected and bartenders make a mean cocktail.

Had an excellent experience here last night. The bartender was incredibly friends and very knowledgeable, and she was able to steer my mate and I in the direction of some excellent drinks that she expertly made. Definitely worth popping in for a visit if you're in the area.

I like very much this place but not many choice of RUM. In Melbourne they must improve Rum choice and culture. There is Not place where you can enjoy Zacapa,Jamaica Rum,Havana 7,Matusalem, Brugal and so on.?? 4 out 5 for this reason mainly!.

Incredible spot to chill and people watch in the middle of Chapel St. Probably the most comfortable couches I've ever sat on, cocktails where delicious, they also have this orangey tequila shot that's heavenly. Ideal place for a chat tbh

This place was surprisingly fun. Walked passed heaps, finally went in and had a blast. For such a small venue I had so much fun and the bartender Tracy (maybe Stacy) was so much fun… def coming back!

Absolutely love this Bar, I’ve been coming here for years and it’s like a home away from home, the team are incredible and it’s clear to see they are lead by an fantastic Venue Manager (Tracey) who cares about her team. Best chilled bar on Chapel. Great cocktails service and style all round bartenders are some of the best in the southern hemisphere run by Shan and Tracy and bartenders Adam and Taruka and Katy always taking care of me . Highly recommended.

Came here at ten pm with a friend and we both ordered drinks from the bar and then went and sat out the front. After about ten minutes a manhattan and house beer which I had to ask for repeatedly despite the fact that the music wasn't that loud (which is a thing to note- cool quiet place) we were served and charged on a wireless EFTPOS system a total of $40. For two drinks. I asked for a breakdown of the bill and was told that the cocktails are expensive and timely. It wasn't happy hour at all. Anyway the vibe here is absoultuley on cue. Like somewhere that you'd expect to find in Fitzroy such as the Night Cat. Curbside-collection style couches fill the booths lit by plush red lighting. There is also an outdoorish area that takes up the entrance to the Chapel Street Bazaar at night. Overall if this is a leg of a pub crawl before the final destination of Revvs which is right next door then I strongly suggest getting here for the happy hour and drink with pleasure in a nice vibey bar. Absolutely run by amateurs! Early doors empty bar and we was asked to tone it down because one of our guests was laughing to loud 😂😂😂😂 I've never see such stupidity, I get the balance but wow! Anyways went up the road and spent around $2000! Guys sort out the show, if you are all up for a quiet night, it's quite simple #dontopen

Fun place for cocktails and dinner. More made for drinks than food but a chilled out cool little place. If you want a table book ahead as it gets full quick on weekends.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a 5 hour happy hour starting at 2:00pm which means that a whole afternoon can be spent there. I also loved the music selection.

Real cosy and warm sit down bar. Filled with nice sofas to chill on and down your drinks. Their ale from the tap is well worth trying and is delicious. Would highly recommend this place if your feeling like something different during your pub crawl on chapel street.

This is how it's done. Small cultivated menu. Half classic cocktails half craft creations. Chill vibe, friendly service, lounge seating. It was well themed and precisely executed. This was the 2nd spot we hit (of 4), so unfortunately we had to move on, but I would have been satisfied drinking there all night.

Epic happy hour 2-7 with above average $6 spirits. Couches. Smoking area. Great private bathroom facilities. Friendly staff who seem genuine.

Such a fun cozy bar, Stephen the bartender was so helpful with drinks and kept the vibe up all night, he’s so lovely and funny we wanted to stay all night just because of him! Never get rid of him! I’m coming back every week for his chats and cocktails.
