Beautiful little garden area hidden away at the South Eastern corner of the huge Royal Park. Its like a little slice of the Botanic Gardens with immaculately groomed verdant grass, native wildflower plantings and many absolutely beautiful mature eucalyptus trees with thoughtfully placed benches in shady spots to sit and enjoy the sweeping views. A streetwater drainage area is part of the garden with an elaborate, natural filtering system of vegetation and landscaping creating a small, peaceful pond with ducks and native parrots and magpies warbling. This area is a brilliant piece of design and engineering, so thoughtfully done whilst still seeming natural. A short walk and the huge natural native grassland circle nearby gives sweeping views in the distance of the city and the nearby Children's Hospital Precinct. The Historic corrugated iron Walmsley cottage from the 1850s is nearby. There is a robot toilet with handicapped facilities and a small carpark for access to the park.

Needs more seating in the shade (not everyone wants skin cancer in summer) and mowed more often. Grass tends to be long. But nice enough for a City park that you feel away from the urban stress.

A great little piece of Aussie Native flora and fauna. I found it deeply fulfilling and enjoyed my time there. The one thing I'd suggest, and what I missed, are some signs, however small, of course eco-friendly. I'd love to learn more about the plants in the garden and having signs that showcase names and just a line of information would be appreciated.

A very well maintained and pleasant small garden. They certainly have a nice variation of vegetation here, also a lot bird life have found there home here. A nice retreat amongst the hustle and bustle.

Impressive place that is so close to the city and hospital. They have a field of long grass, plenty of grassed areas with ponds and native trees for shade. There's even a fantastic playground adventure park for the little humans.

What a lovely little section of Royal Park. Lots of trees for shade and a very sweet pond, and the aforementioned native flora is well landscaped. Go there and have a picnic!
