This was one of the best best best Pakistani restaurant here in Melbourne. I was searching for something halal yet tasty and deliciously flavoured and got myself a treat to be honest. We ordered chicken tikka biryani and ginger chicken curry. It was served with raita. Curry was yummy not over spicy or tasteless . It was creamy and with a great taste of hi ginger Inside. Biryani on the other hand was very good. Coming towards serving , well it was enough for 2 or even 3... Can't wait to visit them again 10/10 guys

I had dinner here with my friends for the first time and satisfied with the overall experience. The restaurant is huge, plenty of seats, and lots of staff. My order came out pretty quickly and they all tasted good and acceptable for the first timer. The food we ordered were Daahi Bhalla, Chicken Rajasthani, and Palak Paneer, and I had it with the garlic naan which I found it so flavourful and delish.

Oh my gosh, I am absolutely obsessed with butter chicken, palak paneer and naan! I mean, just the thought of that creamy, buttery and spicy butter chicken makes my mouth water. And don't even get me started on the palak paneer, that rich, creamy spinach and cheese dish is just out of this world. And let's not forget about that fluffy, soft and perfectly baked naan that just complements these dishes so well. I could eat these every single day and never get tired of them. They're just so delicious and comforting, I can't imagine my life without them!

Great accommodating nature despite the busy night! We did not have a booking but were well looked after by Zeeshan whose customer service was exceptional!! Top class restaurant - definitely recommend! The karahi was delicious 👏

Satisfy your desi cravings Thats right. One of the most popular pakistani restaurant in the heart of Lygon St, Melbourne's food street, has all the yummy food you can crave for. We had briyani which had the fragrance of deghi shadi wali briyani and taste was exactly like the shadi wali briyani too. Also had the bbq which had very good flavour and was delicious. The lahori channa was good, and the chicken karhai was flavourful. My family found it super spicy but i love karak food so it was fine for me. The restaurant has alot of space for seating. Parking is hard to find though. Overall, i give it a 7/10 #khabbay #lygonstfood #halalfoodinmelbourne #desifood #desifoodmelbourne #halalfoodmelbourne #carlton #bbq #briyani #desicravings

The bbq platter is SO good! Especially the chicken mince ones. This is a must get! This and a naan is enough for a great meal. Also tried the the Lahore chicken karahi which was disappointing.Very mild. Perhaps it was due to having this after the delicious bbq platter but other than lemon we literally couldn’t taste any flavour.

Food was fantastic. Meat was well cooked and probably one of the best Pakistani cuisine in Melbourne. A basic ambience with enough tables and great pricing for the quality & quantity. A must visit place if you have to experience Pakistani cuisine.

Love the food…by far the best Pakistani food in Melbourne. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The food didn’t take too long to arrive….the first day we drove from Canberra without making any reservation, were starving…despite the restaurant being busy, the staff was very accommodative and offered us a table after only 10-15mins….wish there was something similar in Canberra

The most amazing Pakistani cuisine you will find. 100% the best in Melbourne, you can't even find this class in Sydney. We ordered 5 different share plates for 8 of us and that was more than enough.

Khabbay is probably the best Pakistani restaurant in Melbourne. The food is always delicious and each dish has a unique taste unlike some other restaurants where it feels like the base used is the same for most dishes. We ordered: BBQ Supreme Platter, Chicken Makhni, Beef Nihari, Veggie Achari, Garlic Naan and Plain Naan. The food was more than enough for 5 people to have some of each meal. Do note that it can get quite busy, so it's worth booking prior to coming to the restaurant.

The food is good, the staff are helpful, seating can improve, lacks sound proofing so a bit noisy. Slightly on the pricy side. Not the most authentic but worth a try.

Buffet was ok and service was good. I felt booking was a bit difficult. Initially tried via the website and then phone, but there was no response. Later when we tried again then received a message asking for the booking details. But they haven't mentioned there is only buffet available for the time which we booked. We came to know about it only after reaching there. Hence I feel there is some sort of communication issue which they can improve.

Understand high ratings but the most basic of chicken boti is made on skewers in tandoor or on coal etc. their boti has no skewers holes I.e it is not skewered at all and not cooked the way it should be. Watch what you eat and advertised. Didn’t try anything else.

5 stars for chicken tikka masala. Taste, portion size, and presentation this dish was just right for my taste buds. Will definitely visit Khabbay again next time I am in Melbourne.

I must say, it's one of the finest Pakistani/indian restaurants in Melbourne. The staff are exceptionally accommodating, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. What truly sets this place apart is the presence of the owner, who is actively involved in both managing and working at the restaurant. It's a clear sign of a successful business when the owner is deeply committed and genuinely cares about every detail. We were having a hard time deciding what to order and he went above and beyond with the recommendations. He’s so humble, friendly and very caring! Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic and delightful Pakistani/indian cuisine

We are visiting from Brisbane. We have been to this restaurant 2 nights in a row it was that good. Tremendous flavours and a great variety of Pakistani dishes. Our 2 kids loved it so much and were raving about how it's their favourite place we have eaten at. Highly recommend. Thank you all for the great meals and top service.

Started with the Reshmi chicken kebab. One of the best kebabs I have ever had, so juicy and yummy. MUST TRY. Main course was the mutton, chicken karahi, garlic naan and a chicken biriyani. We were 4 people and the quantity and taste was just amazing. Completed the meal with a Kheer, again never a kheer so yummy. If you are in the area, must visit. I’ll go again for sure.

We came here quite early at 5:30pm and watched the restaurant fill up around us. There’s good reason why - the dishes here are flavourful and plentiful to share with you and your loved ones. I always go for the Pakistani special the chicken Karahi which is a delicious curry with fragrant spiced and fresh ginger and coriander throughout and brought to the table in the pan. I’m a big fan of chicken malai boti in bbq restaurants however I felt this chicken while tender was lacking a bit of flavour I have had from other restaurants. The service was friendly however they forgot some drink orders so could be slightly improved. Go here if you like to share lots of amazing curries and bbq items with your friends. It’s cheap, cheerful and well located right near the city.

One of the best Pakistani/Indian food in town. Very delicious and awesome food. They have large menu to choose from and everything we ordered was delicious. Food is very reasonably priced. Its a huge restaurant with large dining are however I would recommend a reservation as there could be a long wait due to how busy this place is. Staff is friendly and helpful. Service is bit slow and you might have to wait for your food to arrive but the wait is worth. Definitely visiting again and highly recommend.

Was recommended this place by friends and it did not disappoint. We got the chicken reshmi kebab and chicken handi with sesame kulcha and rice. The food was so delicious and flavourful, kebab was juicy and well seasoned, chicken handi was spicy and creamy, perfect with rice and raita. Service was also polite and friendly, will come back to try more!

Very delicious and tasty food available here. From 6pm to 8.00pm buffet is available till May 12th. Buffet started from today only. After 8.00 pm alacarta is available. All the kebabs are very tasty and mild spicy. Getting the real taste of Pakistani/Indian food. Buffet price is 35$ per person, comparing to the quality and quantity of food this price is worth.

Food is a vibe here! Everything is perfection and highly recommend if you're after authentic Indian food. Service is responsive and every dish is out of the world. If food taste is your top priority and decent service is okay - don't go any further . This is the perfect place! Food is always on point! Have been going here for the past 5 years and never disappoints 🧡

Great food and very friendly environment. Go for Khabbay's special plater which includes assorted kebabs. Wish they had included some dips with the plater instead of buying separately.

A great addition to vibrant lygon street with best pakistani food and excellent service. The owner himself goes out of his way to accommodate customers. The Best in town

Delicious Authentic Pakistani and Indian cuisine. The Karachi dishes are very good. A huge variety of meat, poultry and seafood as well. Prices are reasonable, just the service is a bit slower than expected. I believe that during the week the service is better rather then the weekends. Give it a try at least once!!!

Excellent service, attentive and helpful. Manager seated all four of us without a reservation. Food was high quality, served promptly, and portions were generous. Pricing was outstanding, AU$120 for four people, and we could only just finish the food provided. Atmosphere was good, restaurant was nearly full and a little noisy as a result, but not inconveniently so. Wait staff and manager very responsive. Definitely recommended.

  • 4/5 Shikha Y. 1 year ago on Google
Great food, can get busy so get I know early or make a booking. Almost close to Indian/Pakistani authentic food. Good portion sizes. The platter was good to share with various chicken and kebab types. Biryani portion were big and good to share between 2-3 people. Staff was friendly and nice! Just restaurant can get busy which can cause delay in orders.

Excellent food. Everything tasted perfect. Hara chicken was a delight. Platters are generous. Would have given a 5/5, but we got the starters 10 minutes after the mains had arrived.

Poor service . Food is served without service spoons. Gulab Jamun is served in single use plastic containers and plastic spoons which has been banned by Victorian government. Food is average dripping with oil. Overall it’s an average quality and taste.
