Just been to Bedi's Indian restaurant... what can I say but amazing!! The owner Devinda meet us upon arrival where within a minute We all had a drink served. The restaurant is filled with the most wonderful & important cricket history with a special section devoted to Devindas favourite cricketer Shane Ware. This alone is worth going. The food came out nearly as fast as the drinks & when I say traditional & amazing l mean it! As l never joke around with food! A must visit!! 5 Stars

Food’s good, cricket decorations around the room are good, service and staff are. swift and friendly. but, the wine i was given came out of a bottle that had already been opened and the food is a tiiiiny bit pricey.

Cheap and cheerful, the friendly owner was too happy to stop for a chat. Colleagues introduced me to this place as part of the Friday lunch ritual. From the small menu, most of us chose the butter chicken with rice and roti. The meals arrived shortly after we placed the order. Generous pieces of chicken in deliciously creamy curry soon kept us occupied. I looked around and every dish was empty. Lots of praise by the colleagues who enjoyed their meals. For $12 this was extremely good value in a sit down restaurant. The decor hasn't been updated for ... and the menus are worn, but we came here for neither. As we excited, the owner cheekily says "see you next week." I can understand how my colleagues have become regulars here.

Sunset is coming ... it was very vibrant once ... there's a bit of remnant left, but now, everything is just "it was once" Food wise, still there ... not as good, dry chicken tika ... beef vindaloo is good ... no POS machine, all handwritten bill ... An oldie but a goodie ... best to visit before they are gone ... as they are selling, I think ...

Bedi's has got to be the best Indian food I've eaten before. The Rogan Josh and butter chicken are the best there. The staff are very friendly and aren't afraid for a chat! I also love the cricket themed walls aswell. Would recomend anyone this restraunt if they asked where's the best Indian restaurant.

Good variety on the menu and nice, tasty food that’s always delivered very swiftly. Restaurant has a casual, fun atmosphere and has even transformed into a cricket memorabilia museum as well! Thanks to Rita for being so accommodating, warm and friendly. Look forward to visiting again soon

A truly amazing restaurant. You can tell why they're award-winning. Their Butter Chicken is to die for. The Garlic Naan is crispy and perfectly spread. I ordered from this place at least once a month and it even inspired me to step up my game when it came to making Butter Chicken at home. An underrated and hidden gem in the heart of South Melbourne.

Hands down the best and most authentic Indian food in Melbourne. Our meals were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the carrot halva for dessert, so delicious!

It was a pleasure to walk inside this atmospheric restaurant and collect our take-away dinner. Great phone service and even better in-person service. Well done with the collection of cricket memorabilia! Best Indian food in Melbourne - generous meal sizes as well. Thanks and see you next time we visit!

Our experience at the restaurant was great. It looked like a cricket museum with all the souvenirs collected over the years. The music was just the right volume and the ambiance was relaxing. The food was less oily and less masala as we preferred it. The hospitality was warm from the lady at the counter who I presume is Mrs Bedi. Thank you for being accommodating and letting us dine in.

The Indian here is spectacular. Layers of flavour, earthy and deep. The owner is a one-man comedy show. Great little restaurant that deserves high praise.

Organised catering for a hens in July. All the guests gave rave reviews about the quality and taste of the food. Extra generous servings and the service was exceptional as well with the owner providing everything we needed efficiently and with excellent personal delivery. Bedi was thoughtful enough to provide food warmers, serving utensils and package everything to provide ease when presenting and serving to guests at the function. There was plenty left over too. Highly recommend this restaurant for its food quality and service. Ordered the onion bhaji, samosas, naan, butter chicken, lamb biryani. All came with accompaniments and was delicious.

First discovered this little gem 13 years ago when I was taken there by a new business associate based in India. He said and i quote "Everyone in India knows, if you're in Melbourne, go to Bedi's. And definitely try the butter chicken." That lunch began my love of butter chicken, which over the years has never come close to matching Bedi's. I introduced 6 new people last night for my 50th dinner. Their reactions to the food added to my love of the night. They were genuinely amazed by the food. I think Bedi's has some new regulars. I wonderful experience.

Mr and Mrs Bedi were super friendly! The food, unlike most North Indian restaurants in Melbourne, was very light yet filling! Great customer service and delicious food!

We bought take away butter chicken, aloo ghobi and rice. It was the most delicious butter chicken we've eaten. Even the rice is saffron instead of plain boring . . Highly recommend.

If you are looking for the BEST Indian in Melbourne.. look no further, you will find it at Bedi’s. My family and anyone I know that has been to Bedi’s falls in love with the food, cosy atmosphere and service, especially if you have the pleasure of meeting Mr. And Mrs. Bedi. This place is a Melbourne icon!

Good food, the Palak Paneer is unique, vibrant green and spinach forward. Loved it. The rest was ok and you could get better nans and roti’s elsewhere. The paratha was great. Curries recommended. Yet the service is another story, neglected and unwelcome despite that there was two occupied tables in the whole place that Thursday night. The restaurant is clearly busy hurrying online orders, yet giving attention to customers who drove and dined-in is the very basic that was missing. I’d recommend ordering online and join the crowd they like to serve.

Have gotten take away here once a month hereand always so consistent and delicious! Super fast delivery, Great service and just generally lovely people who work here👍🏻 If you are ordering food, do them a favour and order via phone not Uber eats👍🏻 Great vego options 👍🏻

Awesome char grilled butter chicken. Would recommend and order again. Update: Latest order. Palak panir was without any spices (just spinach, no taste at all).

Great food!!! if looking for a very cheap place, i wouldn’t go here. Other than the price and the wine (a bit old) It’s very good! My belly has never been this satisfied… ever!

Lovely Indian restaurant with a cricket theme throughout. Food was very tasty and arrived Ingoldmells time. Had mixture of meat and vegetarian meals and they were all faultless. Would definitely recommend.

What a great experience! From the time we stepped inside the restaurant we felt welcomed! And then we were hit by heaps of cricketing memorabilia. A quite amazing collection. Throw in some very good Indian food and two fantastic and amusing hosts, it was an entertaining experience.

We have lived nearby for a few years and had a friend recently ask if we'd ever been and couldn't believe we hadn't. So we went and we were very upset it had taken this long to go!! Food was absolutely delicious (butter chicken, masala dhal, rice and garlic naan + mango lassi). Service very warm and welcoming. Food was quick (food like this is typically pre prepared and reheated in pots, as it's a long slow cooking process, hence the speed of service). The vibe was awesome, we loved the decor and it felt like such an authentic experience. Very clean and you could sense the owner operator pride. The 2 owners took time to chat to us (and all other tables) and they are just the sweetest. Good old fashioned service, the way it used to be. Needless to say, we will be back!!! ❤️

Loved dinner here and can’t wait to go back! Great service and super friendly staff. BYO wine, food was perfect portion, and well priced. Recommend the pickled drumsticks 👍🏼

A little disappointed tonight by what used to be our favourite Indian restaurant. One piece of chicken was very undercooked and others were very over cooked and chewy. The naan was great as usual but the butter chicken was too affected by the chicken. Would try butter paneer or something next time.

Getting indian restaurant near office area is delight, we found it over google map. They offered limited meal option, all were sticky.indian with veg and non veg.combination. food taste was close to what we can get in India. Owner is soft spoken and helping nature, we liked the ambiance and food here.

We've been visiting Bedi's for 24 years and have never been let down for sheer quality, every time. Service with a smile from Davinda & Rita whom we regard as family! - we usually visit in medium/big groups and order a wide variety of dishes. The Vindaloo is a personal favourite as it hasn't been watered down on the spice level. Lamb saag, chicken butter cream and madras dishes are superb too. Naan's always fresh and tasty ... need I go on ... get yourself down to THE best curry house in Melbourne, bar none!
