The worst rissoto that I’ve had. Only 3 prawns on it and the texture was not risotto rice. The carbonara was super dry.

Immediately, the atmosphere was amazing. The layout is really good, with different sections depending on what kind of vibe you want. The music is also absolutely on point, at least for my party’s taste. Ordering at the table is really convenient, using a QR code or NFC tag - pick your poison, as it were. The food is exceptional and came out really quickly. When the cheesy garlic bread came out, we could smell the cheese aroma. The carbonara was super creamy and full of flavour. Definitely returning

Vapiano is a good Italian restaurant, but it was much better under the old management when they had the amazing pizza pesto with marinated tomatoes, one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. Sadly, it's no longer on the menu. and also the service is very slow Another drawback is their consistently undercooked pasta. I've had to ask them to triple cook it to make it edible. This inconsistency in pasta preparation affects the overall dining experience. Despite these issues, I still appreciate the pleasant ambiance and some of their other delicious menu items, especially when the pasta is cooked properly. I hope Vapiano considers bringing back the exceptional pizza and improves the pasta cooking. Addressing these concerns would elevate the restaurant's appeal and encourage me to return for more enjoyable dining experiences.

Best place to eat lunch after/between university classes! The $20 pizza Mondays are great and the Hawaiian pizza is really nice. Best service from the staff, especially Kura! If you really want to try the food at its best, like most places, you need to come during the quiet times and not rush hour.

The worst experience ever. One main came almost 40mins after we placed order. Thats fine bcz the app shows it will take 30min. But two other main came 1hour after we ordered. If food was good we could be happy. My cream pasta was so dry, even cream sauce was only on the bottom seems like they put sauce on the bottom and cooked pasta on the top. (The picture i mixed bcz no cream on the top and middle) Mushroom didnt mix together, they were all stick together. I couldn’t understand why they asked tip when we order and pay before we get any service. I barely eat my pasta which was $26? So waste of money. Will never come back. The pictures are we couldn’t finish our dinner.

Loved the food and the drinks. Had the carbonara pasta with mushrooms and my friend had a pasta with shrimp. Absolutely delicious. We had mocktails too and they were so nice and refreshing. The place is big, the menu has very good options with nice variety from pizza and pasta to salads. The bathroom was nice and clean too. The staff was nice and friendly.

We went to Vapiano for lunch and were shown to our table on arrival. When we arrived it was not that busy and as we had only one hour thought our food would be served without a long wait. We ordered using the QR code on the table and selected our meals from the menu on our phones. Food came out a different times with myself and one if my colleagues having to wait nearly the full hour. My other colleagues ate their meals and had to leave to return to work. After wsiting some 50 mins for my meal it finally arrived and was not worth the wait. I ordered the Carbonara Cobb and was really disappointed. It was bordering on cold the pasta was all stuck together and very dry. If there was any sauce it was so little that it stuck the pasta together. No flavour at all and it was really bland. My colleage ordered a Margherita pizza and did not receive her order. She had to ask for it to be put in a takeaway box as no time to eat it as lunch time was over for us. So disappointing the pizza took over 50mins as it was clear they had forgotten her. We won't be going back to Vapiano anytime soon.

Food and drinks are extremely nice, tasty and good portions, my only criticism is that the food and drinks take an extremely long time(20 mins just for drinks) to get served. We (table of four) all ordered together however one of our party had finished her meal before the rest of us even got ours. Disappointing to say the least. Leave plenty of time in your evening for dinner.

Great food, great company ✨ FEATURED: 🍹 BGE (Barbie Girl Energy) Spritz Watermelon liqueur, lychee liqueur and pink moscato topped with soda 🍸 Birthday Cake Celebrate in style with this sweet mix of vanilla vodka, amaretto, vanilla syrup, milk, cream and a rainbow sprinkle rim 🍝 Fettucini Carbonara 🥔 Crema Di Funghi Gnocchi (not pictured) 🍝 Beef Cheek Ragu 🍕 Deep Dish Garlic Pizza 🍰 Tiramisu Absolutely love the food! Fresh pasta made on-site. All pastas come with a free size of bread just wished it was toasted.. The seating at the higher table isn’t the most comfortable but still a good location if you want a nice lunch that’s not too crowded. It’s super easy ordering through the QR code! Very friendly staff, ready to attend to any request!

Great place for cheaper quality pasta. The pasta is solid for its pricing. It’s cheaper than the nicer pasta places while maintaining a decent quality. Expect to spend ~$25 here.

Yes almost best Italian restaurant in CBD. They starve you to death and then bring u a huge bowl with tasty pasta. There is no way you don’t like the food if u are that hungry after waiting for 1nhalf hour. We tried Chicken Alfredo and Gamberi pasta with prawns. Chicken was little dry and fusili pasta was little hard and chewy but Gamberi pasta was good ordered it with spaghetti noodles and it’s nice&smooth, prawns are juicy. Good Quality, good quantity little expensive though. Serving time should be reduced I got to say.

Had the Beef Ragu fettuccine as part of special $25 and the food tasted really bad and average! The sauce was already mixed with pasta and the pasta was clumpy! Given price pressures, was expecting a more decent lunch but could not finish it as it tastes like it was reheated from the day before and the beef was not fresh at all! Won’t be coming back for sure! Only plus was the ambience and atmosphere!

Loved it. Really enjoyed the ambiance and the halal suitable food. Generously served. Service is bit low but i guess with great ambiance its alright to wait for a while and enjoy the surroundings. Great outdoor setup and will definitely be visiting again in summers. Must watch live making of Fusilli

A hidden gem, with amazing vibes. The Basil plants on every table keeps the place alive. Very friendly staff, ready to attend to any request. I had the lunch deal which was really great. I worked a bit before heading to the airport. The pizza was so delicious. my target is to try Every single Vapiano out there ☺️

The spaghetti at Vapiano is not very good. It is often overcooked and sticky, and it does not have much flavor. If you are looking for a good spaghetti dish, I would recommend ordering something else from the menu

0 star. The $21 pasta wasn’t cooked and the $27 spaghetti was all sticking together. There is no way to eat this kind of terrible food, cannot be chewed. I thought anyone would know that pasta should be at least be cooked before serving, but obviously not every restaurant understand that. Ask for a change of meal or refund but they don’t have enough pesto to recook again and the manager so incredibly rude thinking it was ok to have these kind of food. Tapped my card to try to get refund yesterday but I have got nothing at all in my account yet. Is this not just a horrible restaurant which is not capable of making food but also a scammy one? We don’t know. Do not come to this restaurant for pasta or spaghetti.

Not particularly impressed. Walked in and there's a sign to wait to be seated. No staff in sight for a while so walked upstairs. Found a staff member and asked what the procedures were now since we hadn't been to any Vapiano since before Covid, staff member just stared at us blankly. Another finally came over and told us it's now order via QR code at the table and to sit wherever we liked. The Garlic Bread was okay. The pasta for the Pomodoro was overcooked, too soft. The pasta for the Garlic Butter Gamberi was undercooked, still a bit crunchy. The flavors for both the pomodoro and the gamberi were good though.

Definitely the best pasta and pizza restaurant ever in a casual and lovely seats. Their pasta and pizza are made in the restaurant. Super fresh. The pasta is cooked to perfection, not too soft at all. Their pasta sauces are simple, but taste just perfect to their ingredient. Pizza are hand scratch, perfect thickness. Ingredients on pizza are not too much, and very high quality. Prawn in prawn pasta are very fresh, very high quality ingredients. There are lots of tables and seats. Also have tables at sofa area too. This restaurant changed since open up from lockdown. Customer no longer need to queue up for food. They will bring it to your table once ordered at your table. Very good table service. Staff are very friendly too. Plenty of parking nearby and public transport nearby. Walking distance from Flinders st station.

We ordered the chicken Alfredo. While the food itself was tasty, it did not blow my mind. It lacked that one spark needed to set it apart from the thousands of other Italian restaurants in Melbourne. Might I also add, the food portions were small compared to how much it cost. The size of pasta was the same as the kid's pasta plate we get at some restaurants. Deducting one star for value for money.

Great lil spot on flinders lane. Extensive menu with plenty of options for all, Customer service was superb with both normal and QR ordering if desired as well as options for blth dine in or delivery. We ordered chicken cabonara x2 with one with penne as it was the gf option. Both dishes arrived quickly, piled high and smelled amazing. The taste is something u need to experience in person as the rich fullness of the flavour cannot be described. Optional extras offered for a small extra $ amount and a wide variety of beautifully made in house cocktails that change with the seasons. We got the jug of long island iced tea.. and the cocktails where fruit tingle and a frozen lychee lemonade, both made with there house made lemonade which itself was delicious. Daily lunch specials also guaranteed to hit the spot.

What an amazing place! I went there to celebrate my best friends' bday and the atmosphere of the place was really nice and when we order the food it came really fast and it was so delicious. I must say that I was impressed by the customer service there. The manager Justin, he was extremely accommodating and Andrea Gomez our waitress, she was beyond awesome, nice and her service was extraordinary. I will definitely come back to this place to make amazing memories and have great food.

Have eaten at Vapianos for lunch and booked it as a work event for 80 colleagues. Great choice. Event manager worked with us to agree a great set menu which represented excellent value for money. All attendees were very positive on the food and beverage menu and the freiendly staff and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

1.5 STARS!! Went to lunch and got the chicken Alfredo. As it was being served to me, I noticed that it looked a little dry. I initially thought it was just the lights. With the first spoonful, the pasta was TOO AL DENTE. A third way, the pasta got better BUT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH SAUCE. The sauce was actually not bad but just not enough. If the dish had a third less pasta, the sauce would be almost enough. It did make me wonder if they made the dish and, when prepping it, realised there was not enough pasta so they just added more on top and did a quick stir. The chicken pieces were cooked ok. Sorry but NOT WORTH $26!!!

What I like about this place is the huge seating capacity and open late until 11pm. So best option for late dinner. The food is tasty too. Just that I think the portions can be a bit better. We got a mushroom risotto and the portion was super small for the price. But great Italian food and lovely ambience.

Honestly with QR ordering it’s a headache getting a big parties food order out at once but they didn’t do badly! I had the creamy prawn pasta and it was delish. You can taste the fresh pasta prawns weren’t awful the sauce was good. For the price, in a function birthday style venue I give this place a 5 ;)

The pasta was yummy and fresh. The basil growing at the table was even fresher. Service was prompt and pleasant. The wine was good. And the prices were reasonable: $20 got me a filling lunch and a glass of wine.

  • 1/5 Michael A. 2 years ago on Google
Very disappointing.. Drinks took 40 minutes to come out. Pasta took 45 minutes to come out, and pizza took one hour to come out, and the venue was not full at all. We saw other tables were waiting too. It looked to have not enough staff to clean and serve tables. I expected more since visiting Vapiano previously. The cost of pizza was not worth it. I do like how they provide olive oil and Balsamic vinegar on the table. They also had hand sanitiser on the table.

I had tomato&basil pasta and tasty cheese pizza as lunch combos. The spaghetti was overcooked and the sauce of pasta tasted a bit not good. I chose a house lager. The taste of beer was too weak so it wasn’t worthy to pay extra $4. The pizza was okay and the mood of the restaurant was nice though. It seemed they cared about the cleanliness of environment. I hope they care about the food more.

It is a nice place to share with family or friends, the taste of the food was good, it's fair for the price you pay.

We decided to try Vapiano on our girls weekend in the city last Friday night. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! From the atmosphere, service and food was absolutely astonishing! We all ordered everything off the QR code on the table and everything came out extremely fast! We ordered 2 pastas, 2 pizzas the garlic bread and the Nutella cheesecake which was so good it didn’t even make it to get a photo… absolute heaven! We all got cocktails and they were very good to! We will 10000% be coming back when we are in the city next!!

My recent visit to Vapiano left much to be desired. The garlic bread was stale, the pizza base was disappointingly soft, the pasta lacked flavor, and the meat tasted old. Despite the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant, the subpar quality of the food overshadowed any positive aspects of the dining experience. Improvement is needed to match the inviting atmosphere with better culinary offerings.

Found this while walking round looking for somewhere for dinner. And just our luck it was Tuesday so all the pastas were 20 bux. We had the burrata and pruscuitto pizza and the chicken carbonara. Both were very tasty coupled with some long island iced teas

The staff member who greeted us was so friendly. The food was delicious - I tried the spaghetti meatballs which I really enjoyed and my friend’s chicken salad looked good too. I especially enjoyed the lighting and the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Average food. Portions are small for the price and the food was luke warm. The ambience and service is great though. Shame they don't make lattees or cappuccinos (not on the menu on the app)

Vapiano on Flinders Lane is a casual and relaxed dining environment, serving up fresh and flavourful Italian cuisine, and is one of my personal favourite restaurants in the CBD. It’s menu, while simple at a glance, will have something for anyone craving a mediterranean soul food spread. The food is prepared quickly and with care, and being able to seamlessly order straight away from a phone makes for a contemporary experience.

I ordered a Truffle Oil pizza with extra prosciutto. It was beautiful – generously topped; high quality, fresh ingredients; perfectly cooked base. I was very pleased with it. Staff were welcoming and friendly, ambiance was pleasant, service was fast, and everything was spotless.

Went here for my Spaghetti Bolognaise quick fix and it didn’t disappoint. I came at 1900 and greeted with warm welcome. Upstairs seating was packed and loud so I opt to sit downstairs which I was alone and I loved it. 😄 One of the things I noticed was there’s no menu but you just order and pay thru the QR code at the table. Awesome! I ordered and paid online. The prices are very reasonable and casual. That’s also the reason why I picked this place because it’s not too intimidating fancy and I can afford it. 😆 I ordered at 1911 and my food arrived at 1928. It was fast despite I read negative reviews about it. The portion was huge indeed knowing the price and most importantly it fixed my pasta cravings. Too bad though Tiramisu wasn’t on the menu. I paid $28.5 for my pasta and pineapple juice.

  • 4/5 Rachael A. 1 year ago on Google
Good pasta. Came here with my work team and most things came out super quick but then three meals were missing for half the meal, even though we all ordered close together, and the pizza didn’t arrive for my colleague until after I’d finished my pasta. Staff are very aloof and it definitely has a self serve vibe, no one checked on us.
