Incredible. Beautiful. Stunning. We went on mother's day for a walk around the gardens and to look in the shops and this took up the full day! We are looking forward to returning to look inside the castle soon! The coffee shop there is lovely with vegan options too! They also offer free walk guides. There are three available, short, medium and long walks.

An amazing castle steeped in history. Every room is overflowing with detail. We took the guided tour which was excellent. It look an hour an a half and only cost £4!

We had terrible experiences with Bentons. We got the impression that they are rude and they pick and choose buyers. In order to buy a property from Bentons, having the funds is not enough, there are other mysterious criteria that we are yet to find out. We rang them after first viewing to say we want to make an offer, please speak to the vendor about a few changes we wish to discuss with them. Then.....nothing.... no reply. Are the vendors still considering it a month later? Now we just have to assume that the vendors do not wish to sell to us.... Now I avoid properties advertised by Bentons.

I booked tickets for my family of 4, and what a great price for everything you get to see! There is parking at the bottom of the castle hill which has charges however there is free parking directly outside the castle if you have a Blue Badge, as it's quite a steep path to walk up and down. The staff at the visitor centre at the entrance were very helpful, and will direct you to disabled parking if need be. You can purchase a guide book for £5, but we decided to go rogue! The castle was insanely immaculate, but I think that's due to the Belvoir family still living there. The history is fantastic, and the guides were very informative and helpful. The gardens were well kept. I had paid for tickets for the playground which was near the entrance, which was all modern equipment and made out of wood. There is toddler age appropriate equipment, but I would recommend keeping an eye on at all times. Great fun playing and had a zip wire too. The cafe was very overpriced, and the jacket potatoes weren't fresh, so it's okay for a coffee, but eat before hand or bring a picnic. That would be the only disadvantage.

I rented a house. I had only one neighbour with the windows looking at my private back garden. Every time the grass in the back garden was overgrown, Bentons sent an email saying that someone had complained about the poor maintenance of the garden. When I asked who was complaining about the garden I never got an answer. After 1.5 years living there and several anonymous complains, I explained Bentons that (1) I had discovered that my neighbour worked at Bentons (I could see their pictures and names from the webpage) and (2) it was not correct that I would receive complains every time the grass in my back garden (not visible from the street) was overgrown. 1 day after, I received a letter asking to leave the property in two months. The house was rented 2 weeks after I left. I should have maintained the garden more often, Bentons should not have spied and bullied me with anonymous complains, causing me a considerable amount of stress. I would not rent from them again and I would not recommend them. It was a bad experience. (Actualisation: More than 25 days to get the deposit back!!)

The people who do viewings I've never had an issue with (they get them their money!) However, the people in the office (with the exception of 1 or 2) are extremely rude.

By far the worst Estate Agents in the UK! If you are wanting to rent properties please bare in mind that Bentons have openly admitted to having more loyalty to the landlord then the tenants, basically they see people who rent as 2nd class citizens and I even have the recording of the phone call to prove it which I have also sent over to Alastair Benton the Managing Director following a lengthy letter. If you are unfortunate enough to encounter Denise Hood who shocking is the assistant Lettings Manager at Bentons Melton Mowbury I would strongly advise the people who work really hard to pay to live in a RENTED property DO NOT USE BENTONS - Melton Premier, Newton Fallowell, UPP and Shouler & Son are fair and always consider tenants to be equal to society and treat you with respect and great customer service! If Bentons loyalty is with the landlords can you even imagen how difficult it would be to get any problems fixed with the property! The staff at Bentons have obviously had backwards training on lettings or it could just be Denise looking down at people who rent properties instead of owning one for themselves.

Wow, we had a grand day out, very grand indeed. What an extraordinarily beautiful castle and gardens. It was beyond my expectations, despite having visited many wonderful estates in my time, both in the UK and overseas. The castle has a family feel, but boy is it an insight into the privilege and extravagance of the so-called 'elite'. One needs to remember when all of England was carved up and gifted by the Royals to their blood-lines to produce vast Dukedoms (circa 30) and to the Church of course - the vast majority (everyone else) lived in poverty...

The castle is amazing and the grounds are large and beautiful with plenty to do for all the family. You can go for walks or just sit on the lawn. I mark it down slightly as they have introduced parking charges not previously present, and you also pay to enter (different fees for garden/castle entry) and I feel this is pushing the cost up. Take a picnic and enjoy!

Beautiful place to visit although the gardens maybe a little tricky for wheelchair users due to the steep incline. The castle is quite a sight to see and you won’t be disappointed. There is an adventure playground that is situated near the entrance. If you are a blue badge member you are able to park near the entrance of the castle just make sure you enquire when going for your tickets.

Absolutely terrible experience. We were renting hoise for 3 years. Over that time none of the reprted problems was resolved without issues. It takes 2-3 weeks for first answer and if you won't chase it you will have to live with it. When heating gone in winter, 3 wweks after it was reported I was told that I'm only chasing it cause I don't have to pay for repair. Even now when we move out I need to chase confirmation that I return keys. It is a shame that people who claim to be serious professionals are so rude and lie to customers. Hope I won't have to deal with them again.

We were recently looking for a house and a few we considered were through Bentons and we had the poorest experience with them.. to the point where we avoided houses if they were advertised with them!! The customer service compared to other estate agents was pure rubbish.. phone manner, and in person when viewing a property, they weren’t interested or friendly. Didn’t even turn up to one of our viewings! They always appeared to have someone lined up for the property. They also appear to enjoy putting houses up at a lower price to gather loads of interest and then sending everyone into a massive bidding war. I would never even consider using them if we came to selling our home in the future. Definitely use one of the other estate agents who are so much nicer.

Shame I cannot give a zero rating. Their total lack of professionalism and disregard for rental tenants is appalling. I would never recommend anyone renting through this agent. I would be very willing to have a constructive conversation with someone from Bentons if there is anyone who has an ounce of integrity within the organisation.

Beautiful castle, very rich with history and original stuffs. I very liked to walk around in rooms and check every small pieces from the walls, ceiling, some furniture and e.t.c. Some historic stuff i saw first time and i was excited. Garden is so amazing!!! Rose garden should need to visit some couple weeks later, because in Jun start all roses just get ready her buds. In Google was wrote then ticket is £10, bet actually if you buy castle + garden that is £20 each. I definitely recommend this castle!!!! 💯👍

The good bits: Beautiful grounds and castle. Everything very well presented. Very helpful and informative volunteer guides. The not so good bits: Car park fees. £3.60 for 3 hours, £6 for the day. Food in the tea room is expensive. A cream tea with one scone and two very small pots of jam and whisked/aerated cream £7.75. It's quite expensive to get in. £36 for two for the house and gardens. A warning to the infirm or wheelchair users. There is a VERY steep inclined path leading up from the ticket office to the castle entrance. One of our party has a heart condition and struggled with the climb. We noticed at the top that several cars had driven up. It was not until we were leaving did we notice a sign warning of the steep inclined walk and to ask for a car pass. The sign however was not at the ticket office and entrance but was opposite at the small cafe! The climb up spoilt the afternoon.

Stunning Castle and grounds. Lots of staff dotted around to give you info. The staff are friendly and for an extra £4 you can get a guided tour. Our tour guide Julie (see picture) was amazing. Soo knowledgeable, personable and engaging. She made the day very memorable. The castle is a living home, we bumped into one of the residents as we toured round.

I enjoyed my day out immensely. The Castle interiors are stunning. Being keen on my history I spent most of my time in the castle so therefore left little time for the gardens and walks but at least that gives me a reason to visit again. The staff throughout the castle were very helpful and were glad to go into the history not only of the building but also the exhibits.

As a landlord I rate Bentons as the worst letting agency I have ever dealt with.I am still sorting out a total mess they left me with 6 months ago.Employ this firm at your peril > I have found them worse than useless.

The castle was stunning and beautifully decorated for Christmas. They had live music and lots to see in the castle. It's a shame my mum didn't get to see it as she's disabled and it's only stairs, although plenty of disabled parking up at the castle. It's a bit cramped queing to see santa at the back of the gift shop but the kids loved it. Its a very steep walk up to the castle but worth it. We would go again when it's warmer as it was too cold to walk for long

We chose Bentons to sell our family home in the west Leicestershire countryside. Compared to other agents I've dealt with, they gave a good level of service. They understood the nature of the property, our goals and our timescale. They returned my phone calls and emails, got us a good number of viewers and offers, and did all the viewings themselves except a few times when viewers asked to come at short notice. Their office appeared well run, with different staff roles reasonably clear and communication reasonably reliable. They responded to our feedback, never put undue pressure on us, and were always polite and courteous. We rarely felt lost or forgotten, and ultimately they found us good buyers who stuck with what became a very protracted conveyancing process. I would highly recommend the experience of selling through Bentons. The only reason I would not give them five stars is that I'm unsure whether their sale strategy achieved the maximum value. Because of the rural location and future development potential, we were advised to sell with an uplift clause to limit development. Our solicitor's guidance states that the details of uplift clauses need to be negotiated between surveyors and solicitors. As our surveyors, Bentons barely got involved in discussing the details of the uplift until a very late stage, possibly contributing to delayed completion, and undermining our confidence that they understood uplift. Also they advised us to start with a high asking price, which we dropped by 22% to achieve a sale. I was involved in selling a property in a similar value range the year before. Starting that time with a low asking price, we sold it much more quickly and at a higher price than we achieved this time. So I would not hesitate to recommend Bentons for the operation of their sales service. But I am unsure whether they made the right calls in advising how to get the best value from an unusual property.

We went to Belvoir Castle for the Steampunk event. Not bad event, but I was expecting a bit more to happen. The team room is to be tried, the menus to share are amazing and their teas are something else... I went for an Earl Grey and it was certainly one of the best I ever had! I will definitely come back for some more! A large portion of the place wheelchair accessible. 👍

Magnificent place. We visited the castle last Monday, not much people around. We had a great time roaming around the castle, learning about its history. It took us 1.5 hours to finish the tour (with lots of picture taking 😅)The Garden was also pretty wide. And the landscape was amazing.

An excellent castle and grounds to visit! Great for a walk around the gardens and admire the beautiful flowing plants and not to forget the amazing children's play area which provides hours (literally) of fun for all ages! Well worth a visit and will need to l go again to see the bits we couldn't get to in one day!

It's an amazing place. There's a huge playground for kids at the entrance, then a lovely garden, and the castle inside feels like going back in time. You can walk hours around the estate. There is a lovely lake as well. The spring garden offers camelias, magnolias, and David Austen's roses 🌹 will bloom in June! The car park is extra charge. :(

Was staying locally and everyone asked if we were visiting the castle so we decided to visit. The grounds are extensive if you just want to look around and enjoy the woods and gardens but the castle itself was very impressive and I'm glad we went. There was plenty to see and we've visited a number of grand houses and castles and this was one of the best. If that's something you like you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful place to visit. Large carpark with option to book online. Little cafe bistro near by. Tickets available to book online. Garden are massive. Big round takes up to 1 hour. Dogs aloud only in garden area. Playground for kids. Castle beautiful. Toilets available. Everything in place however I did expect walking areas in garden better developed. Still worth to turn out from motorway between Leicester and newa

A wonderful experience..the Christmas decorations following the 12 days of Christmas were themed in each room but you still could see the very interesting history and decor of each room. Very friendly and helpful staff..well worth another visit in the summer. Very good accessibility and disabled parking right by the castle..they have thought of everything.

By far the worst estate agents I've ever experienced in my entire life. My dad has a problem with a mole in our garden, so we told Bentons about it. They didn't want to deal with the problem and we had to argue it with them. Finally they sent a mole man out to us, he put the traps out and he suppose to be back to check few days ago but he didn't show up, so my dad emailed Bentons and asked them if they could chase him up for us. Then Eva ACCIDENTALLY send my dad an Email which is suppose to be to Catherine, and the email said the following " Hi Catherine, Can you please deal with him. He is really annoying me now. Thank you, Eva" Now this is outrageous, we pay for this service a lot of bloody money and that's how we get treated. Since we moved into this bungalow we had only problems of Bentons they refuse to cooperate or help us, we been here a couple of months and they send an inspector to us to check the state of property, which is fine but we rang Bentons and asked them why are they inspecting the property after like 2 moths of us being here, so the young chap that spoke to us said " Oh it's our property we can inspect and come any time we want" then we found out the only reason they do this is because we reported few small issues that needed to be sorted out in the house. Absolutely disgusting service, extremely rude people, and they don't care about tenants, they just want your money and shut up.

I was a tenant for three years and when I first took over the tenancy, they had removed all the fuses from the property and none of the lights worked, they hadn't cleaned the property and I had no carbon monoxide or smoke detectors, essentially all they'd done was cut the grass. After having to pay an extra week to stay in my previous home they sorted out my smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, the rest I sorted out, being 6 and a half months pregnant. I never got a copy of the revised inventory despite requests, I also never got any confirmation that my deposit had been put into the Deposit Scheme, until recently when I'd moved out and am now disputing their claims to over 50% of my deposit due to their failings in providing me with the correct documentation, failure to keep their admin to date and their contractors spilling tea and coffee on my carpet and despite using professional equipment to clean the carpet they are claiming money to pay for professionally cleaning it, without bothering to actually do so. Then charge me additional money for wear and tear to the carpet when they're not even doing anything with said carpet!

Disappointing experience. We hurriedly put through an application due to being told by Bentons of the interest in the property. This was on the condition that the landlord would consider the poor quality of the oven considering the size and quality of the rest of the property. We were pleased to be accepted following our application but it then turned out that the oven issue was never addressed by Bentons with the landlord and our application fee had been taken. This wasn't a deal breaker however. We weren't kept updated throughout the referencing process despite paying a substantial referencing fee and even today I have no idea if all the references were received! As with most house moves there were unforeseen issues, the main one being that the existing tenants were not able to vacate by the property by the advertised date and needed to stay for longer. We were unable to hold on this long due to our existing tenancies, and not wanting to see the tenants without anywhere to live plus us needing somewhere to move into asap, we pulled out and found a property elsewhere. We didn't get our substantial referencing fee back. Whilst it's appreciated that it was our decision to pull out, it was not us who held up the move-in date. Considering the poor referencing service anyway and the external issues beyond our control, a partial refund at least might have been some recognition of the inconvenience and below acceptable service received. All in all, this was a disappointment. The staff are pleasant enough and would return calls but overall I wouldn't proactively look to use Bentons again.

Brilliant location for an evening show Queen tribute band & the supporting acts were all really good. The walk up the hill was a bit challenging for me & without a blue badge, I didn't feel I could ask to park closer to the castle. But hey I did it & the staff were all friendly & helpful & we all had a great night 🎵🎶

I echo the review below and would also now avoid properties advertised by Bentons. They do not return your calls and ignore your emails. Given that you are trying to buy a house, one of the biggest purchases you could make, you'd expect that they'd provide some level of customer service, apparently not. We have since retracted an offer due to our experience as we cannot imagine what the rest of the process would be like as a buyer. I would absolutely not recommend Bentons to anyone and discourage anyone considering instructing them.

The castle is amazing. There are many halls. Showing the environment in which people lived. Many paintings. The gardens are huge. We didn't have enough time to look around and walk around the entire territory of the gardens. Awesome place. There is an option to stop by the castle for people with reduced mobility. a great place for recreation and relaxation.

I have nothing but praise for the service that I received from Bentons. They kept me informed of progress and always returned my calls promptly if the particular person I was trying to contact was unavailable. Another member of my family also used Bentons after poor service from other local estate agents and also found their staff to be highly professional and helpful. Would highly recommend.

8/9/2022 Lovely place to visit. Stunning scenery & gardens, lovely staff & facilities, and the interiors are extremely grand. Bit pricey but worth it. What is an issue are the parking fees. If you stay longer than the time you paid for in the machines you will face a fine. Worse in engine yard car park where you have a maximum of 4 hours which isn’t acceptable on busy days (we went on a quiet day so did not have to park there) but you can stay for the whole day if you park in the main car park
