Lovely place to have a drink or have a meal. Fish is very tasty. Pear pizza has a sweet taste on a pizza. Worth a try. Chips are big and fluffy inside. Staff is really nice. South African lady that helped us made our dog feel very welcome. Brought water and star dog biscuits twice. Played with him too. Inside is spacious and well looked after. Toilets are very clean and look great. Sitting outside is a possibility and with a nice view. Certainly worth a visit.

Friendly, courteous and attentive staff. This pub is not at all understaffed -which is great to see. The manager welcomed us in for lunch even though the kitchen had already closed which was very nice of him. Thank you team and chefs! Stunning views, plenty of seating areas, both inside than out; the decor is delightful. some sits in the shade too around the back and under parasols. They have a few vegan options on the menu. I had the poke bowl; nothing amazing but a very healthy meal and quite a big portion. (Apparently the Caesar salad can be made vegan and there is a vegan burgher too) They make great chips! Friend had fish and chips, it was a big portion and they really enjoyed it. They also serve vegan coffee (made with either almond or oat milk)☕️ large carpark outside with some spaces in the shade around the side.

New management!! Wow what a place, decor is now so on point! Food served was City restaurant level. Very efficiently brought out without a huge wait. Dog friendly and treated hugely by the owner and staff alike!! We would love to be back asap!

Very impressed with the quality of the products. Extremely clean, nice toilets, outstanding garden views, dog friendly, delicious food and very reliable prices. Definitely would come back and recommend to everyone who looks after a nice lunch/dinner out with best customer service and guaranteed satisfaction.

A warm welcome. We were shown to our table, given menus and then left to it. We waited a while before they came back and asked us what we would like for drinks. We nearly gave up and went to the bar at 1 point. Once we got our drinks we had to wait again for someone to come and take our order. We were waiting for 1 more person to turn up who was very late. I thought the service could of been better, there was loads of staff on the floor. Food was amazing. Credits to the chef's of the kitchen. Cocktails were great. The service needs to be worked on alot.

A delightful establishment, and the staff are friendly & welcoming. Stunning views of the countryside on the veranda with comfortable seating areas with a woodfire heating. Additional seating on the below lawn area with parasols. Good selections of beers, ales & spirits. Seasonal menu with fresh ingredients. Definitely recommend.

Great experience for their Burns Night Supper. We were made to feel welcome and our waitress, Lucy, was very attentive without being overbearing. Great service from the whole team and Daniel was also great. Food was excellent and the whole evening was a worthy experience that I’d recommend to anyone. Bagpipes, poetry and song 🎵 brought it all together. Will return for another evening in this charming pub/ restaurant.

Amazing and beautiful pub with great views of Box Hill. Clearly it's a local favourite for dinner and other family functions. Always busy but good service. Food was really good and drinks choices a plenty. They even had a good wine and cocktails menu. Easy and classy choice if in the area.

After reading reviews we were in doubt if it's worth visiting, but we really wanted to find a place with a nice views to sit, so we did. Atmosphere, deco and views are fab. We were served quite quickly, staff was polite and helpful. Can't say much about food as we tried only two dishes (hence 4 stars only) but they were really good. Would go back next time. Hope it won't get worse in time. Came back after 6 months, had steak and crab burger. Not much crab , just a thick layer of oily batter. It was cooked in fresh oil so it weren't bad. Stead was delicious, good quality, but not presented nicely. Tomato was sort of old, reheated, one lonely mushroom, chips came a bit later. It should all be plated on a smaller plate, add some greenery and roasted cherry tomatoes, then it would be perfect for the price you pay. Not sure if we'll return anytime soon.

Great location, staff now seem able again but time will tell! But it seems they are more after diners than drinkers as nearly every table seems to be set for food… shame, makes me feel very unwelcome and hence will drink elsewhere..,Money talks eh! Good luck in the winter months when your quieter outside and those regulars drinkers will have found somewhere more accommodating. 😵‍💫

We were served by Daniel, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after, he recommended dishes, and he was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Everything was delicious, the portions were great, and we had a lovely time. We’ll be back!

Only popped in for a drink but I would definitely come back for a meal. The menu looks lush and the people on the table next to us were raving about the food. The atmosphere is lovely, but more restaurant-y than pub. Plenty of staff and no one seemed rushed off their feet.

Visited this morning to sample the breakfast menu. Really very good, complimented with high end guest service. Cant say enough how good the breakfast was, supported by clean and tidy eating areas. We got served by Libby today and it was great. We have had her as a waitress before and she is great every time. Food was wonderful (although the fish pie could have more fish) but overall it was wonderful and very cosy.

Lovely pub. Cocktails were good 🍸Lovely open fire 🔥 which warmed us up on this cold afternoon. Lots of seating outside which I suspect is great on the summer. Would definitely come back.

I found this place on a weekday at lunchtime and absolutely loved it, the terrace looking over to Box Hill view point is beautiful and the menu is outstanding! We liked it so much we booked in for dinner the same week. The interior has been refurbished to a very high standard and service was great on both occasions this week! My new favourite place to eat in Surrey!

Soooo close to the magic 5 stars but a 30+ minute wait on the desert having pre-ordered the three courses on arrival, however.... The food was up there as some of the best in the area for a Sunday roast and the staff were friendly and attentive. The venue itself is large and well present, the view off the back terrace to box hill. One small comment, the parfait starter was tasty but the ratio of meat to bread was off, and could have done easily with four bits of toast and not the the two. Having a low alcohol beer on draft was a godsend after a month of all the alcohol free bottled largers. Given the popularity of the venue they might want to expand the car park a little as cars were queuing to get in and out. Sooooo will I be heading back to the Watermill, you bet ya a great place to take friends or family when visiting, price point also seemed fair given the quality of food on offer. Great work team.

Absolutely beautiful setting (outdoor terrace area - views over Boxhill) the service was great and the food was excellent - particularly enjoyed the Chef's (taster) starter of foccacia bread with rosemary/thyme and honeycomb butter! I chose the chicken, ham hock and leek pie which was delicious!

The new management have done a remarkable job here. I remember my last visit a year ago and the service was a let down. But now Daniel and co are very welcoming. It was a lovely experience and I would highly recommend! The food was lovely and reasonably priced.

Absolutely Brilliant! We just turned up on Easter Monday and the Manager (Daniel) fitted us in. The restaurant was fully booked but he found us a space. We had a a superb meal next to a roaring fire on the terrace - which he got lit specifically for us. The food was served quickly and efficiently and was delicious. The view was totally gorgeous. Highly recommended.

Lots of potential, food was very average and I got served luke warm white wine in a tumbler- as they were out of wine glasses (?!) Asked them to give me a wine glass and a chilled glass of wine and came back with a flute but same luke warm wine- I guess better than before… Waitress did her best to try and accommodate though x

Fabulous food in a beautiful pub, with really lovely and friendly staff. We were in the outside garden area which is stunningly decorated. Check out the rope lamp shades!

The food was great. Lovely wine. The place is lovely inside and obviously the views out back are fab. The waiting staff did a great job under the circumstances. It was far from perfect. On booking well in advance I had asked for a table outside but we were seated inside. I was also told that we would have to preorder as it was a big group but didn't hear anything about it again. The food took a long time to come out and when it did the sides didn't come with it but it's how the issues were dealt with that matters. We're all human. They almost dealt with it all too well, to the point where I felt like I had to apologise 😅 Will definitely be back to give it another go

A good selection of gluten free meals. Lovely place, nice decor, spacious and busy, with nice views of Box Hill. Portion sizes are not very big, so it's better to have a dessert or a starter with the main meal. Would visit again.

Beautiful decor & atmosphere and lovely food. We did go when the last world cup England game was on so less staff than usual (and there was Christmas parties in the pub which made things busier for the staff that was working) but still had a lovely experience with good service. I would say it's a bit pricey for food but drinks are actually cheaper than we expected so it all evens out. Lovely place and will definitely visit again!
