The people working in the emergency room are vile, nasty and abusive towards patience. They put up signs that they don't want verbal abuse...they're the ones abusing people. You walk in, there's no one to direct you, you ask for help and they yell at you, I waited 2.5 hours to go to triage finally, got in because I saw that they were in the back just sitting there, my son had fever and I told them that he DID NOT have covid but they insisted on throwing us in a cover infested area with people coughing their brains out .so that we catch covid. Obviously we left at that point. VILE!

A third world hospital in Montreal ! The staff is completely overwhelmed. I came here by ambulance and emergency was a complete nightmare. When shipped upstairs the bell in the room didn't work. I had to go to nurses' station to ask for help for the person beside me with dementia. Some very rude and inefficient staff. They have completely forgotten that they are dealing with real people who did not choose to be sick. Avoid at all cost !

As someone who’s been accompanying sick parents to various hospitals my entire life, I’ve been to a lot of the hospitals in this city and I can say without a doubt that Santa Cabrini hospital is the most unorganized, unfriendly, and unhelpful hospital in this entire city. The reception staff are incredibly rude except for maybe a handful. Watching nurses and employees just stand around and talk to each other when people have to wait 2 hours plus for an already scheduled appointment is unacceptable. Don’t give my father a 10am appointment for a scan if you’re gonna make us wait literally 2 hours before we’re called, or 35 minutes for a blood test when it can be done within 5-10 minutes at a clsc. On more than one occasion, they completely forgot about him and we had to remind reception we’re still waiting to be called. This hospital is stuck in the 90s and is entirely inefficient. Avoid going here if you can. Rosemount-maisonneuve is pretty close to it, just go there.

I arrived to the emergencies with hemorrhage as I am pregnant, the nurses didn't care about patients, there is no humanity and compassion , I was so tired and paintful for the blood I lose, wait more than 7 hours, and what they told me if you don't feel good here is not the prison you can return to your home, neither my pets have received that assistance never!

I was scheduled for a day surgery at this hospital, so I came to the reviews here and saw that most people are giving bad reviews, so I was worried and this made me anxious. But here is my review for anyone who was in my place anxious and worried after reading others reviews. I have to say I was treated really well, my experience was really good and smooth. I was worried because I am not fluent in french, but all nurses were very helpful in speaking with me in English , even the ones who didn’t speak English were doing the effort to comfort me. The nurses were very caring, they explained to me everything. While I was in the day surgery room with other patients, the whole energy in the room was good. They care about hygiene and that patients are not left alone. When i had my surgery, I spoke with the anesthesiologist and he explained to me everything and took his time to understand my situation, and recommend whats best and comforted me. My surgeon also came to me before the surgery and explained to me the whole process and told me not to worry. I felt really good and relaxed. My surgery went well, woke up with team of nurses in the surgery room that were amazing, smiling and checking on me and reassuring that all went well. Then my surgeon came and also reassured that everything went well! They moved me again to the day surgery unit where I was with the second shift of nurses who were really amazing!!! They made sure i recover and feel good, they checked on me many times. They even started conversations with me that had nothing to do with hospitals and it was funny ! Finally they explained to me all the do and don’t c gave me the set of medications i should take and discharged me . For everyone worried, relax! You are in good hands. Despite the small size of the hospital, these people are doing their best to keep you safe and they are doing it fantastically!

Avoid!! The most disastrous and disorganized hospital ever! If you have a choice, I repeat, AVOID this place. Lack of specialists and lack of medical equipment to properly treat and diagnose patients. They have not updated their protocols and equipment in years. They are still living in the olden times with outdated methods. Doctors, nurses, and nurse aides need empathy training badly because 90% of the staff here is rude and disrespectful and arrogant, particularly in the Emergency department. The way they speak to patients, especially elderly patients, as well as family members and visitors is downright atrocious!! They like to give orders and make you feel like you are bothering them when you have questions. You’re better off dying than coming here. All you need to do is observe the staff to see how awful the service is here. Patients call for help and the nurses and aides simply take their sweet time, laughing, and sometimes even pass by the rooms without a care in the world. You basically go to this hospital to suffer. The doctors also order unnecessary tests and completely ignore the initial reason you were admitted to the Emergency. Also, rampant lack of communication from staff there. They don’t update patients or their families about next steps. It’s just endless waiting and wondering and none of the staff have a clue about anything. Instructions and directions are unclear. One employee tells you one thing but then another employee comes around and tells you a different thing. Miserable experience!

Guess what they send me home ... no visit no doctor have seen me Nothing what a beautiful service we have in Québec in the hospitals. I hope things will change for the better soon. Maybe one day some people not gonna respond very well at things and than they might do terror acts to hospitals.. in Québec. The government must take action instead to cut ✂️ salary we need doctors WAKE UP!!!

On Sunday My husband went to the ER.. his right arm was swollen for a few days .. got there at 2:15pm came home 7:30ish .. prognostic: blot clot or infection or both.. they gave an antibiotic but had to go back yesterday for an ultrasound.. at 1:30.. did ultrasound by 3pm ( it’s a blood clot ) got another prescription and had to stop antibiotics) but had to be seen by an internist.. 7pm still waiting .. went to complain he told the person what if he’s gone do I stay until he comes back ? She went to check and told him to come today internist will see him at NOON..but must go thru triage AGAIN.. So with his prescription went to the pharmacy last night it is now app 7pm.. they couldn’t make out Dr’s name .. nor did she put her license #! so they had to call the hospital … almost 8pm and no help.. so He had to pay full price 69.00!! This morning he got to the hospital at 10am..gave his name at triage. Noon comes around no calls and lights are dimmed , lo and behold it’s lunch time!!! By 2:00pm he had it, he goes to triage to complain and they said OMG Mr …. I’ll find the dr ASAP.. 2:45 no dr… my husband left with the intention of going to our dr and maybe a REAL HOSPITAL!! So he got home 3:10pm and as he was watering the plants.. his cell rings, guess who , the DR. Calls.. He was irritated because My husband wasn’t there, He couldn’t put two words in to explain why he left .. dr said he wasn’t well and staff couldn’t find him blah blah blah.. now My husband once again is back at Santa f..ing Cabrini!!!! I already warned My husband , if there’s something wrong with me and need medical attention ASAP take me to either Maisonneuve / Rosemont or Jewish or Hôpital Vétérinaire Portage( My dog’s vet) or just let me die !!

This is the WORST hospital on the island. You could be dying they’ll make you wait 8 to 10hrs. Everyone is EXTREMELY rude & absolutely lost. These are supposed to be professional and they can’t even do their jobs properly. If you need a hospital AVOID santa cabrini.

I recently had surgery at this hospital that I could not get in my region. If I had had surgical treatment in Gatineau, they would have sliced my neck open at great risk of face paralysis. The surgeon who performed my surgery at Santa Cabrini used a modern technique that saves the gland and only removes the stone! He is one of a few who can do this in Canada. The treatment and care I received at this hospital was the best; top notch. All the staff were skilled and caring professionals. I was treated with kindness from the moment I entered until my post operative care. A sincere and grateful thank you to all the staff who dedicate themselves to providing patients at Santa Cabrini with top quality care. Some of us are understanding and see how hard you all work! May you all be blessed for the excellent care you provide patients.

I'm allergic to perfume and people don't care about it here. The nurse laughs rather than understanding the danger of my situation right now live. Two asthma attacks in two days. There doesn't seem to be any protocol on this subject. Very difficult to breathe but it adds even more perfume. Please do something to get this woman deported for putting my life in danger. This is happening right now

I came with my sister to this hospital via ambulance. We waited here for 5 hours. No doctor called her for the 5 hours wait time. Finally, one of the nurses called and said that "please go to the clinic tomorrow and here is the paper". So we waited for 5 hours without seeing the doctor. This is ridiculous!

The worst hospital experience i have had in my 26 years of life living in Canada. I went in with a abdomen pain and the doctor in charge was so overwhelmed already by all the elderly patients that he ignored me for 3 hours before i start yelling and crying. the staff is very condescending and dors not have any empathy trainning. The service is horrible, i would have preferred dying in my bathroom then going to this hospital. It was a waste of time and energy for me. i only got proper medical help in another hospital for my pancreas issues that caused my abdominal pains. very disappointed after spending 5 hours in pain and no help was given.

Worst organisation ever. Scheduled to appear for a day surgery at 6am. We've been waiting in the line up for admission for 60 min and counting now. The line hasn't moved in 20 min. I really don't know why they ask about 40 patients to show up at the same time if they can't handle the workload. I wouldn't recommend this hospital if my life depended on it. I surely hope they are better organized for urgent cases or you may as well never leave this place!

March 22, 2024 2nd night of emergency for severe intestinal cramps... the staff of Djamila at reception, Shania at registration and Tam at triage, it's unparalleled customer service, affable, dedicated and above all attentive! Well done again and take care of her pearls!! 👍 ********* December 2023 Good morning, First time at this hospital, I recommend it without hesitation!! At the reception despite the 😷, Sénate is smiling and affable. Direction for blood test at reception Gemma and Nurse Bernadette, to get the Carmella hospital card. Smiling silks! 👍 Then for radiology, it’s at the Rosa & Florinda reception, Mohamed Radiology tech. All of these hires are exceptional for courtesy, customer experience and efficiency. Deserves a 6⭐️ but Google does not offer this choice 😉. Continue your good work despite the difficulties/conditions which should improve! Inshallah ❤️🙏 Doing better as humanity, one word and one action at a time, that’s my dream!! Nicholas

It is the dirtiest and most disgusting place in Montreal. If you want to come back or third world, go to this nasty hospital. Truly terrible!!! In addition, patients are left forgotten in the recovery room, the sterile solution ends and no one comes to see you, you are offered a meal after surgery and the meal NEVER ARRIVES. No instructions for getting out of bed or going to the bathroom upon waking up. NO VISIT FROM THE DOCTOR WHO IS OPERATING ON YOU TO SEE IF YOU ARE OK. He leaves and he doesn't care about recovering patients. Nurses are conspicuous by their absence. In short, you are nothing more than a file. Subsequently 8 to 12 WEEKS FOR A FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT???!!! If you have a complication after surgery, you must go to a CLSC or to the emergency room of any hospital. Frankly, TERRIBLE attention, a disgusting place to the point that my partner got an infection in there, but he has to go elsewhere to get treatment. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PIG STY.

I am currently in this hospital as an IS visitor for my husband. The emergency doctor, but the intensive care specialist, the MD specialist in gastronomy and the nurses Marcella, and even the cafeteria attendant served me like a queen by James in the cafeteria and two other colleagues who also comforted me ..., a great comfort from the whole team A big thank you, I'm even talking about the colleague of the one who served me James (a silk this employee) at the cafe, who took the time to also say a good word to me. Sincerely thank you for everything♡ Saturday 2:00 p.m. March 23, 2024

My uncle was brought in by ambulance to Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital. The hospital did all the paperwork for a transfer to Santa Cabrini and he was refused because they said he was not associated to that hospital. How can they say this when in fact he has had two operations in past years, and was treated last year for the same problem.

I asked at reception desk what room my friend was in. I was sent to 2nd floor. I was given a gown, mask, face shield, gloves, and told to go in to room xxx. I walk in and the bed has been stripped n the matress is leaning at an angle in the bed. OMG! Is she dead? The nice nurse enquired for me: patient had been moved to 5th floor. Whole re-gowning procedure up there...no computerized data in this hospital. The reception staff works from paper listings. Nonetheless, this hospital is clean and well maintained.

Most of the Nurses are really tentative to your needs and very understanding they go above and beyond to make sure you are ok. The Doctors are very kind they do what they can in such little time to assess you and try really hard to be sure you will be okay I’ve gone to this hospital a lot in the past 10 years they are excellent much more understanding then most hospitals.

Very unprofessional staff. Nurses were arguing and berating each other when none of the 3 who tried couldn’t take my blood after sticking me 8 times. After being there for almost 8 hours ,the doctor sent a nurse with a prescription without explaining anything to me although I was having excruciating chest pains. Thankfully am still alive. Won’t be going back there.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. Besides this place being absolutely FLITHY and completely unsanitary. The nurses and drs in the emergency are the rudest, uncaring, unsympathetic incompetent individuals I have ever encountered. God help anyone who gets sick and had to go there!

I have been receiving cancer treatment at Santa Cabrini for almost a year. I must say it felt like I was in a private clinic. Such a small hospital, but the oncology nurses are awesome - respectful, friendly, knowledgeable, and bilingual. The oncologist is also really good and kind. My only complaint may be the wait time on days for clinics (regular appts to see the oncologist ) can sometimes be pretty long....then again, I've had nowhere to go anyway, so I just read while I wait. The restaurant/cafe is pretty good too! I've always found free street parking, and Oh, and the bonus is that you can learn a little Italian while you're there!

Never come to this place if you go to the emergency!!! 13 hours. I had to wait 13 hours for a small problem. I have never experienced this in my entire life. The doctors are incompetent here by the way and there aren't enough of them. 2 disasters which explain why the rating is 2.5 in this lost hole. I have never seen this level of incompetence. I had pain for 7-8 hours and they treat you like a laboratory animal. You can come with all the details and they'll take forever to come to the wrong conclusion because they're letting medical students learn about you. Literally, I was in the worst pain of my life and for them it was a case study. Plus, when they make a mistake in their analysis, they make you do the whole process again. For people who are supposed to earn big salaries, they are incapable of finding the problem and make you do all kinds of tests to waste your time. Literally, you had to wait 3.5 hours to see the doctor. In the room, I waited 40 minutes for the doctor to come. Then 1.5 hours of waiting for a test. Subsequently, 2 hours of waiting for the results and seeing the doctor again who realizes that the problem is something else and puts you through the same thing again. The worst part of all this is that the doctor said that there were people who had been there since 8 p.m. the evening before. As if that's supposed to explain their lack of competence. Also, they tell you that they want to make sure everything is good, but 13 hours with 2-3 false analyzes????
