Was in ER for 16 hours (2:30 am- 6:45 pm) for a fractured wrist. Wasn't allowed to sit on the floor and had to sit on the uncomfortable, small plastic chairs. Didn't give me meds for the first 6 or so hours and I was left holding my wrist up for the same 6 hours until they gave me my first cast which was done very poorly. They just kept giving me morphine because it took so long to be seen. My first hospital experience as an 18 year old and it was not good. Staff was fine but the wait was just way too long. Took 5 hours to get my final x-ray results, where they just gave me a prescription in the waiting room and told me to come back if I felt pain. Staff don't know the wait times. AFTER CAST IS TAKEN OFF: got my cast taken off this morning. my wrist is bent as the cast was bent and I was not told anything about how to re-strengthen my wrist (she is extremely weak). they also didn't give me a brace. hopingmy body pulls through and heals itself............

Having visited twice, the care I received was mediocre and that’s generous. I noticed how BIPOC and women were often ignored or dismissed and untreated. I had a doctor who was receptive to feedback but given the size of the hospital, I understand they need to triage trauma. They were severely understaffed and so this is a systemic issue that needs to be addressed in addition to training on gender affirming care & biases towards BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+. My favourite part was chatting with fellow people in the wait room. We had good chats about how we need to reform the healthcare system: people who GET things on the ground because decisions are being made by people disconnected from the front line reality. I look forward to a time when accessible and inclusive washrooms show ALL GENDERS are welcome.

Horrible hospital, the people where very rude. We waited for more then 6h in the emergency, while hearing someone who kept throwing up (that was not getting any help) some people even waited for more then 9h to get help. Even third world countries have a better service and “cleaner hospital”. Really disappointed of Montreal hospital service, I would expect better service when it come to Canada specially with the amount of tax we pay. Do better !

Absolutely disgusting. Stayed very many days and no one ever came to clean the room or even empty the garbage. My previous stay was the same thing. Ontop of the bed bring broken and not being able to adjust anything… Not 1x did a PAB come bring me linens to change my bedding. Not 1x did they offer to help with a bed bath or changing of the gown. Avoid this hospital. Bedside manner needs to be teached as well as staff leaving medications laying around. Going in and out of rooms while there’s a VRE outbreak and not even gowning up. Just a terrible experience. Take the extra few minutes and go to the GLEN.

Sadly the events that unfolded on January 23rd, 2022 will not bring back my mother but I will use this opportunity to warn others.....stay far away from this hospital and their emergency department. The doctor who was in charge of my mother demonstrated blatant disrespect and disregard for the situation. His level of disorganization was astonishing. He contradicted a neurologist and in the presence of a nurse ridiculed his colleagues advising us that it would be a mistake to take the advise from a doctor who was younger than his own kids. His bed-side manner and level of compassion toward us is a violation of how a doctor should compose themselves. We received a call for my mothers' hip surgery based on her CT scan showing a hip fracture which was not even the case. Not sure whos CT scan they were looking at. A terribly disorganized, fragmented hospital. Shocking and given the latest review not surprising. For the purpose of this posting I will not name the doctor, but shame on you sir, shame on you. For a doctor who explained to me has so much experience and knowledge; I am shocked and utterly disgusted by your behavior. A young physically and mentally fit person just suddenly being near-passing or being in her state is so difficult for the family and you sir did nothing but make the situation worse. Your disorganization, ridicule of fellow doctors, bed-side manner and total lack of compassion are the very reason this system is so highly criticized. I am sure there are many component doctors at the Montreal General, but you sir having very poorly represented the hospital but situation likes this only continue to happen when even poorer management doesn't step in. This will not my mother back, but people reading this, if the ambulance paramedic says they are taking you to this hospital, please do everything possible to stay away. For the sake of your loved ones....stay away.

The emergency room treat patient like they are garbage, I was sent in by ambulance for chest pain and difficulty breathing, wearing pj in the winter bare feet, the moment they heard that I cough as well, they put me in an isolation area next to the gate to wait for 3 hours without any monitor without a blanket, all the staff were chatting and joking, when I finally have strength to get up and ask for a blanket, the staff throw a blanket to me like I was a homeless person. I end up leaving and went for private care, worst hospital experience in my life!

Cafeteria on the 4th floor of this hospital charges different prices depending on cashier. Today I had an Asian cashier that charged me 2x the regular price. 6$ turned into 12$ sat April 16. She double charged me. Clearly representive of the mgh. Ethical problems. I will no longer donate money to this hospital!!! There are better hospitals in Montreal. I’m guessing she is pocketing the money. Bad employees should be let go. Marittess v, cas -1109861 is the cashier. She did not not give me a breakdown of the price. Photo attachment of receipt & product. Can’t be trusted for sure.

My friend met an accident was taken to the emergency ward of the hospital. Horrible experience. Firstly, my friend had a broken bone and the fracture was wrongly treated. The bandage was wrongly done which caused my friend to be in much pain for a day before they redid the bandage admitting it was done wrong. Redoing of the bandage after one day released much of the pain. Secondly, my friend was told an operation would be required and it would have happened two days after the accident. As expected, from one day before the operation, my friend was not given food and way put on saline drip in the night before. My friend felt dizzy all night and complained about it to the all night and through the morning that the drip is not really coming down from the drip bag to the patient's body. I went to see my friend in the following afternoon (over half a day later) and my friend was still dizzy and complaining about it. I went and asked someone to come check. The attendant I spoke to was super rude. I said, "Excuse me, I have a quick question". She said, "Well no question is ever quick and go ahead anyways". Finally someone came and check the drip. And the the attendant goes, "Oh that explains why you were feeling dizzy. The drip doesn't work." and then very nonchalantly said "I will change it" and left! No sorry! No apologies for their negligence! When I confronted asking why this issue was not handles for over half a day in spite of patient complaining about dizziness (which was because the patient did not get any source of energy for that entire time, the nurse just said "well we checked in the morning and it was working and then we were busy". Whereas clearly the drip back had not emptied even a bit. Absolutely lack of empathy and professionalism.

To start off, I unfortunately couldn't give it zero Stars. I came here for surgery and I've been told different things by five different doctors. So, bit confused as to how they passed however many years of med school. Want to sleep at 4:00 a.m. because staff members kept opening the door of the room I was in, and I woke up at 6:00 a.m. because I decided to be a great time to ask me how I was doing.

INHUMANE and unsympathetic staff in this hospital!!!!! Totally lacking empathy and kindness in security staff and one female nurse. I would have put in zero or negative stars if there was such an option. My 92 old mother in law was placed at a gurney at the entrance right under two brightly shining fluorescent lights from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am. She is immobile and need me to help to go to the bathroom every hour. My husband needs to be there to translate for her / that’s why we both need to be there. When at around 11:00 pm brought her to the bathroom, afterwards we tried to turn to her gurney. We were refused access back by the security guard. They had to check with the reception until the found that my mother in law’s gurney indeed is in that room that they allowed me to pass. That night, another gentleman on a gurney next to us needed help, I even offered to wheelchair him to the bathroom. We are being considerate to everyone in the emergency room.but we are human and need to sit down to rest a bit too. In the morning, the security guard said either one of us must leave. All night, ambulances with gurneys come in next to our bed, we had no space to sit. We have been up all night and have been moving our chair to allow other gurneys to pass by. The security guards are non-sympathetic and totally inhumane. My mother in law is incapacitated and need me to help her to go to the bathroom. My husband has to translate for my mother in law - so we both need to stay. The security insists that one of us must leave! I explained to the security guard but they refused to accept and insisted one of us must leave. Later the nurse came in and when we explained to her the situation, she was totally unsympathetic. There is no empathy or kindness in this hospital. She said she would help my mother in law if she needs help and there is no reason for my husband to be there. Well, I am very short and weak and won't be able to support the weight of my mother in law. And when I needed her help, she is nowhere to be found! I told both the security guard and the nurse that they might try to impose the rules, but empathy and kindness goes a long way. It’s amazing how you put a uniform on someone and now when they perceive they have “power” and how inhumane they can be towards the weak and sick. I am totally disgusted and appalled by the unkind, thoughtless and mean attitude towards patients and their family members. If I could give negative stars, I certainly would. I am still in the hospital. If the doctors came and they refuse to allow me to go back into my mother in law’s room, we would just pack our bags and leave. This is entirely infuriating!!!! The mindset of lower level staff reflect that of the higher administration level and the corporate culture. A little more empathy and kindness goes a long way!!! Can’t believe that is not a priority. This is our first experience and also a very negative experience. Also it is extremely dirty - bathroom floors are full of urine, paper on the floor everywhere and the bathroom wreaks of urine smell. Simply put - disgusting!! An end note - the doctors are very kind, accommodating and sympathetic as a redeeming grace. But the wait is supremely long.

Dear Friends! I went today for my first Covid 19 vaccination ! My appointment was set for the General Hospital! From top to bottom TOP NOTCH! The appointments are on Cedar entrance. There was parking and for the occasion it's free ! Everyone was courteous, polite and very helpful. The levels of professionalism met my expectations and I always set the bar very high! All staff follow strict protocols and are very structured. The entire experience took less than 30 minutes including the 15 minutes waiting period after receiving vaccine. My friends get your vaccine! Fraternally said ! Romain

Unbelievable. Waiting here over 14 hours. Nurses very rude and cold. When I asked when I would be seen by a doctor, her reply was, "How should we know, go sit down." They made me feel like I was bothering them.Apparently one doctor for two sections and er patients, guess what you are last on the list to be seen. 1 every 2 hours. When I was finally seen, the doctor gave me a new antibiotic and asked for my urine sample again to test the particular bacteria. Haven't heard from them yet after two days. I'm still not okay. Awful experience.

Arrived by ambulance with severe appendix pains. 5 hours of wait without being seen by a nurse or doctor. I left to go to another hospital. This Montreal General is understaffed and cannot handle the volume of patients. My neighbor was these 2 days in the hall having had an Xray and still waiting for the result. The worst hospital I ever went to.

I believe the hospital deserved this note because of the very poor services I received in the emergency center. I had a deep cut in the knee and under heavy pain. My wound was kept opened with a old bandage full of blood and exposed to air for at least 7 hours. Besides that, there were very long waiting time during each help call and the actual help. I also experienced a nurse who called off all my alarms as I was suffering. However I would like to thank everyone in the hospital for giving me care and most of all the team of surgeons and the 18th floor staff.

Insufficient seriousness is put into ensuring that patients can be served in either languages as per their own policy. This issue appears to be systemic, across MUHC sites with the worse offenders being their short term or contractual hires such as security guards which put both staff and patients at risk if each of them do not speak both languages. How many more healthcare professionals need to be physically or verbally abused because of this? What corrective measures will taken to ensure that all staff are able to speak both languages? How will you hold the contracting companies accountable for providing staff that actually fulfill the requirements sent to them? I'm guessing nothing, because it was like this even when there wasn't a shortage of labour, so no excuses. Management shrugs their shoulders and just says they asked, never what follow-up they did, what measurable or demonstrable improvements they've made.

Hats off to all the doctors, especially nurses & hospital staff very professional & kind people. They do their best to help you out despite many difficulties & challenges like in pandemic, short of beds. I was admitted there for few days in the beginning I was in stretcher care like many others but even there nurses did their best to help everyone and take good care then I was moved to 15th floor & nurses there provided best care they were all so polite & helpful . I heard before that it’s hard job & how many challenges they face in daily life but while I was admitted there I did see what healthcare workers experience. You guys are true heroes . I just don’t have words to describe how thankful I am. Can’t name one person. No doubt they need so many improvements which I guess everyone is already aware of. but staff works tirelessly, professionally & with true dedication.

Unfortunately my recent experience (November 28, 2023) at the emergency of Montreal General Hospital was horrible and catastrophic; the wait, the care, the lack of empathy, nothing was up to scratch. My parent is now deceased (December 3rd) and I keep receiving follow up appointments from the hospital despite several calls to the specific department and even to the doctor (December 7), and moreover the fact that I went in person (December 14) to ensure that the death of my parent was noted; nevertheless follow-up calls continue... What would you say if you were me? No good! I do not recommend this hospital at all. (In addition, if you don't speak English, you'll be extremely unhappy.)

By far the worst hospital I’ve ever had the displeasure of visiting. Spent 28 hours in the ER every doctor and nurse I’ve seen has been completely useless. Nobody who works here is willing to help the patients it’s absolutely appalling.

I had my first appointment at the Department of Dentistry, which is inside Montreal General Hospital. I was quite anxious given my horrid English mouth and the 3rd wave of the Covid19 pandemic..., what a delightful surprise! From the security guards to the hospital card lady to the dentists themselves - everyone was lovely. My mouth might be a disaster but it doesn't seem so bad with a nice dentist like Dr Saij (I hope I spelled his name correctly.). People offered me directions, people smiled, and everyone I saw obeyed Covid19 guidelines. If you have to be in a hospital, choose a nice one like Montreal General.

On October 21 around 7:00PM I was seen at the emergency room (I’m here now) the triage lady was absolutely perfect. I was treated with such concern. Her name is Christine! She is so professional, she took the time to hear me out while I was composing myself. Christine I appreciate you so much for what you do and how professional you were with me. Christine ( I’m the 144heart rate patient) Thank you for your words and bluntness. TRIAGE FRIDAY EVENING was great.

7 years ago I had surgery here with arguably the most prestigious doctor in the whole hospital thanks to me being on the front page of the newspaper and on TV at the time as an up and coming artist/athlete representing Montreal. The secretaries were borderline fainting when I would mention who I had an appointment with. He grossly rushed my diagnosis while ignoring some of my symptoms (and his own medical student's initial diagnosis which was actually the correct one) to fit his narrative, performed an unnecessary surgery and implanted a useless synthetic piece of mesh inside me that was not needed and ruined my life and my career. 7 years later my body is permanently mutilated and damaged as a result of this initial surgery. He subsequently refused to refer me to a different doctor that would keep following up on me and left me to my own devices after creating permanent issues that I did not have before his procedure. I just consulted one of the world's specialist on this subject in Munich today and he said that my first doctor (Dr. Deckelbaum from the Montreal General Hospital) should not have a medical license and that he would've lost his medical license if he would've done what he did to me in Germany. Patients beware, you have no recourse. These doctors act like they are gods and once the damage is done its done. I am considering going public with this on television but will most likely just end up taking my life. I have refrained from posting this review for years but I don't have anything left to lose.

Luckily I haven't had to go to the hospital too often. No complaints about the doctors or nurses but the administration is atrocious. Zero empathy, efficiency, politeness or willingness to help. Pretty disheartening. I can imagine people are pretty overworked but I never expected to receive such terrible service at a Canadian hospital.

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. I got there for a serious virus with my throat. Obviously they had to check if it was Covid .16 hours later. NO RESULTS FOR MY PCR NO RESULTS FOR MY THROAT SWAB. Also, I clearly stated when I arrived that I was allergic to Ibuprofen. Well guess what ? They injected me with an antibiotic from the same family. I got an allergic reaction that almost killed me and had to stay an extra 6 hours to be checked. I have called over 16 times today. No way to get an answer. I will be meeting my lawyer tomorrow first hour to press charges. Enough is enough and I encourage everyone to do so until they get it together. Also I sent the file to J E and they're considering it.

Heading towards our 9th hour of waiting just to get stitches in the emergency room. They shoved us in a waiting room saying the doctor would be right there at the 6th hour and we have been there since. This hospital does not care about you or your medical matter. Please choose any other one. Edit: Your response shows that nothing will change because if you look back at all the past negative reviews its the same thing with the same response. After 10+ hours the docter and resident we met were very nice. It is not their fault, it is hospital admin. Why was there only 1 doctor working the entire department the entire night?

I recently visited the emergency department at this Hospital for an examination. The staff were super friendly, caring, loving and genuinely concern for you. They treated you with respect and dignity. Hats off to all you wonderful staff members for a job well done even while we all have to deal with a global pandemic which is stressful in itself.

Im so afraid to go here, but I have something serious in my throat. I can’t drink water not even pass food. I don’t understand why it’s like this. I feel very bad. Should I book tickets to go home? UPDTE: I went there. I waited long hours but I got attention, like 24 hours total perhaps... in a range of 2 days. (I went there, was sent home, arrived 9 am next day). I was sent for an ultrasound and the person that made it was blaming me for having covid and exposing her when in ER they didnt make me a test to begin with! I didn't have covid when I arrived but the second day I tested positive. I mean, it's kinda contradictory that if you are ill ... you are blamed for it at the hospital! Everyone at ER was nice to me, except the LADY at the ultrasound, UGH...soo soo rude.

I went to the ER , and I must say the staff were amazing from the security officer to the Triage nurse to the doctor who performed the procedure on me... give the staff 5 STARS all the way. However the hospital itself especially the ER and waiting areas need a good clean, was kinda disappointed to see how dirty the areas were

Was told by the ER doctor that I should just take Tylenol every day for my chronic pain (so severe I couldn't keep a job), then was forgotten in a room for 3 hrs when they said they were getting me a bed. Once I inquired as to when I was getting a bed they said there weren't any left, and that the doctor who admitted me and went to get me said bed left 30 mins after our interaction.

When you hear the doctor who just saw yr father, complain to the clerk of having yet another "level of stupidity" day, it makes you question his level of professionalism. If he has that opinion of an elderly man, does he actually want to help him or is he there to get rid of people the quicker the better just to get his paycheck? We went to Neurology yesterday had the rudest young girl clerk and a very condescending "specialist" saying we're dumb when he thought we couldn't hear. Is that a behavior we really need to endure again if we have to go back? Gives me the chills to think I'd have to get my dad back in that place.

Wanted to do Mr Papu a favor and contact the hospital about the error. they let the phone ring for ever . It doesn't go to voice mail There is no fax number on the internet and email that's way too new I'm 75 and can't believe I'm 20 years more up to date then any hospital in Canada . This is not a reflection of medical hard working people but the non medical administration and government bureaucrats are pathetic Contacted the hospital during working hours Mr papi gave the wrong phone number but gvmy still needs to improve external communications at all medical locations for outside calls

I want to preface this review by saying that I was at the emergency room for nearly 24 hours when I went, but the staff were so helpful it made my stay more bearable. They gave me a bed when I asked to lie down and had to transfer me to another room to do so. While I did wait long, the entire surgical team came to see me eventually and were deeply apologetic for the wait, and they led me through the process of what was going to happen. I still need to go back for more evaluations, but as for an emergency room experience, I have to say that in spite of the wait, I was well taken care of.

Of course it has a horrible review. Indeed I'm surprised it is so high. Just look at all the government run entities, they all have bad reviews because their "customers" are forced to use them. "An offer you can't refuse". These jerks are very anti "unvaccinated" and do NOT follow any science about anything. They prescribe high carb diets to diabetics, mRNA vaccines to pregnant people and young males, and don't test for anything ever unless you beg. Wait times are also 8-24+ hours.

My experience in this hospital has got to be one of the worst experiences I've had in Montreal health system. My mom needed to see a doctor for hypertension and to modify her meds. The pharmacist told me that I've got to find a doctor within 48 hours or my mom will be in danger. We went in this hospital in the hope to find any doctor because she doesn't have one. (She's on the waiting list though for ages...) We tried every clinique and taking a appointment with a doctor was just impossible. It was really hard. So, i brought mom to this hospital in the urgent. We waited for a long time just to be sent to another hospital for heart problems. The doctor was very rude. I was the one translating everything for my mom. So I asked questions and he would hush me and ignore my questions. I admit I look super young but even then he should at least listen to my concerns and questions about my mom's health. I understood what he was saying and just wanted to know more but he thought I didn't understand anything and kept repeating the same thing like he's talking to a child. Plus, he didn't explain in detail about why mom have to go urgently to the hospital. I mean... isn't she al ready in a hospital? And I would have really appreciated if he could have asked properly the reason for coming here and at least prescribe the meds that mom needs for hypertension. That was our main concern.. and worry... and then he adds the heart problems(murmur) and we both just panic... and had to leave like that. It would be just really appreciated to be more respectful and attentive to us (patients) .

The Montreal General Hospital is a pathetic excuse for a hospital in such a country as Canada. I was there very recently and left after about 2 hours and a half. I didn't see a doctor nor did I get an X-ray. I tumbled down a staircase in the evening and seriously injured my wrist, hand and upper arm areas and bones. One of my fingers doesn't move right and I was feeling much pain. "Excuse me," I said to a woman of the staff. No response. "Excuse me," I said once more. I don't yet ask a question, but she snaps back at me for asking about when the doctor will arrive. She goes on about how this won't make it go any faster and the doctor is with trauma patients. Well, I was going to ask about the x-ray process and follow-up reassessment, but she didn't bother to hear my question. By the way, I'd only asked her once before about the timing. It was about 20 minutes before this instance. The hospital ought to be bulldozed and redone anew! How else are you going to fix such root rot?

When I twisted my ankle I was transported via ambulance to the general hospital. Reading all sorts of horror stories I was terrified but I was seen within the hour. The entire staff was helpful and very hands on. The para medics, nurses, x Ray staff as well as the docs were amazing. They even gave me crutches.

Awesome view, not a single day goes by without me daydreaming about being hospitalized in this place. Laying on the bed, looking out the window and admiring the view.

Worst hospital I've ever been to. Staff is rude when they shouldn't be when dealing with sick people. I waited 14 hours in the emergency room to be told that since I had a referral I should have seen the specialist straight away but instead was sent to to emergency by mistake!!! And it's dirty especially the bathrooms.

I would recommend everyone never go this hospital. First of all they don't care about any patients either you die or you alive,

Amazing help. I was seen and triage by a very helpful nurse who sent me though to Emergency. Then treated by an amazing nurse, Nick, and 3 great doctors. Even the orderly who took me for a cat scan was really kind. They diagnosed the problem, gave me a prescription which they tested then and there to make sure it was working, and had me out in 12 hours. I noticed they were also patient and helpful to the other patients, one of whom was quite temperamental. Wow. Many thanks to them all.

The volunteer run cafeteria pumps out such great food for a cafeteria. The hospital is good. I've been here for many different things and never had issues other than the occasional long waits

11 hour wait for a patient in pain....still haven't been seen yet... told them the pain was getting worse and they act like they don't care. staff are very rude too. the only nice people are security ahahah what a joke of a hospital and what nerve do they have to call themselves an "ER"

It was awful. THEY MADE ME WAIT 5 hours only for them to tell me they weren't going to treat my problem, they told me to go to a clinic. Their health services are APPALLING AND USELESS.

A music therapist, Danny, and a nurse named Svetlana really helped me out a lot whilst I was here. They had a really profound effect on me and I have so much love and gratitude for them, and the treatment I received in general. I was here several months ago but I still think about them and the things they told me almost everyday. Thank you ❤🙏

They don't prepare the and give patient sleeping pills. So she can sleep on the chair in the waiting area. And after 3 hours they are still preparing the room. We, after listening to this nonsense, we leave the hospital.

All over the place there are posters that ask you to refrain from being rude to hospital staff. It’s understandable until you as a patient attested rudely. I have been here three times for blood tests. Always the same.

This is an hospital so you don't come here to have fun like you do in attractions, restaurants & stores. You come here because you or your relative is injured or ill. Doctors & nurses can be impatient because they had lots of other patients to care of, along with short of staffs and if you're not good to explain your pains in more medical terms, expect arguments from them. We as Canadians always boast about how we get free healthcare compared to other countries, but this hospital is a good example the drawbacks of it, you have to wait for hours for treatments. Make sure to bring a charger for your mobile devices and since this hospital has free Wifi, you can get distracted to the point that waiting is more bearable there. Also, their restaurant at the main entrance floor is decently priced, can't say the same with the foods at the vending machines.

I have an appointment every 6 months. All the staff I meet are very polite despite the fact they likely feel undervalued, under paid and over worked. 99 per cent of the time I'm sure staff do a great job .

WORST HOSPITAL SERVICE EVER. I have been standing in the waiting room for more than four hours after clearly stating that i had lower back pain( possibly a torn muscle) for more than 8hours. They are overwhelmed on a friday night , I can understand that. They don’t have many doctors at 4AM, I understand that. But when i ask a supposed doctor how long should i have to wait while i can barely sit down and she doesn’t even let me finish my sentence and says “keep waiting then !” With the rudest tone i have ever seen from A STRANGER!!!!! I’m sorry but you can make me wait 10 hours, promise me painkillers that never came or joke around with the front desk lady … but the moment you are rude to a patient treating me like a litteral piece of shit… THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Worst experience in a hospital ever. Deserves negative rating.

Well very surprised to receive a phone call from the Montreal General to find out exactly what happened to me for this bad experience Which i really appreciate it so my 0 will be changed for now. I will give it a 4 for the call I received. The original 0 will stay for the first experience I had. tried calling for 3 hours today kept switching from one place to another. Left 5 message I needed to switching an appointment no one could give me the extension to where I needed to call and still haven't. No email address. No help whatsoever. What do I do. Does anyone have any ideas please. I need to reschedule N appointment for a biopsy results in 8 weeks.

Had hernia surgery with Dr Khwaja and Dr Bracco. Grateful to both. Wonder why the world is not ruled by someone like them. Staff is professional and friendly. PACU nurses are top of the muffin. Barbara, you're amazing. Maria, your efforts are much appreciated. Thank you.

I want to say how kindly I was treated in the emergency (January 25) from the Triage to the Dr and psychiatrist who treated me. The waiting time (maybe I arrived at a good time) was barely two hours. I live in Chateauguay and have been many times but never received the care I encountered at the General. I hope the government provides more help and.. the staff paid like royalty. I salute these caring people. It's not an easy job. Thankyou Julia

We cannot be more grateful to all the nurses, interns and specialists, who took the time to ensure that we received the proper tests, diagnosis and treatment. Yes, it takes time to receive, but that is because they take the time ensure that the diagnosis is 100% accurate as they consult all the medical fields that can shed light on the root of the problem. We are eternally grateful. Also, the security guards are beyond kind and helpful (Merci Abdel). This review is based on two separate experiences that are months apart. For those who state that service is only offered in English. Everyone that we encountered was able to communicate in both languages and attempted to do so in the language that was not their mother tongue (French). Medical competence must be placed before language competency and there are no words that can adequately describe the superior level of knowledge, professionalism and devotion of the doctors who work in the ER. Le mot merci, n'est pas adéquat pour décrire la reconnaissance que nous avons envers vous.

I went on Friday!!! The girl in urgency who took my info didn't even make me a card for the hospital! On top of that they schedule for a test early morning without telling me that I need to make a hospital card first. Stop hiring incompetent people who do not give out proper information. It's rediculous that your hiring people more worried about their looks and phones than doing their jobs at receptions.

For myself honestly they answered my questions very very quickly and gave myself the good/right information about everything that I have to do along with getting an Brand new Hospital Card and Making an Apportionment for the Same Day As Long as I Arrive in the Early Morning,SO That Is WHAT I WILL Do BUT I COULD NOT AND DEFINITELY WON'T TELL ANYONE WHEN AND WHY ,BECAUSE IT'S NO ONE'S DAWN BISiness.

The staff are nice and helpful but it takes soooooo long. Wait is usually 8-10 hrs. If you are unable to book a doctor's appointment online you can drop in there and they will book something at a clinic for you.

Very kind and knowledgeable staff, emergency room waiting area had been temporarily located in a construction zone which is not a great idea, but I believe that was being changed that same night. Emergency room process does need an update and by process I mean diagnosis, prognosis, q&a, etc. After 14 hours there I left without a clear idea of what I had to do next (apart from filling out the prescriptions), what resources I could use to help accelerate the healing process and what to do in case of complications.

Very Small ER! Light are not suitable for that area. Staff are polite / welcoming with great sense go humour to lift your mood specially after having an accident .However the wait time is really long to get seen by a doctor.

This review goes out specifically to resident Dr. Yang (I hope I understood her name correctly) for being so sweet and informative. She listened to all my concerns and took the time to address my situation honestly. Thanks to her, I feel calm and reassured. I hope her supervisor reads this, and uses her as a model for other residents and staff. Dr. Yang, I wish you a lovely career!

The health care workers overall were professional but the administrative staff in Internal Medicine have been some of the most unpleasant people I've met. After staying at the hospital for 6 days, I was told to wait for a phone call for a follow-up. I had been waiting for their response for almost a month when one of the older administrative agents finally called me back. Throughout our 3-minute phone conversation, she constantly interrupted me and then accused me of not knowing how to explain myself properly. That woman had the audacity to say I was wasting her time when she was supposed to call me back weeks ago. A nasty individual who made my situation feel worse and who shouldn't be in public service. I'm assuming the MUHC will either ignore this or reply with a copy-paste response about their Ombudsman.

If such a thing as a great experience exists for an emergency room then that is my experience at Montreal General. After having a cycling accident while visiting Montreal I was brought here. Wow ! What great staff! I was a bit worried that I only speak English but this was not a problem. Everyone from the cleaning staff , the staff that took me to multiple ex-rays and CT scan to the nurses , doctors and technicians were fabulous. Kind , professional, helpful and efficient. I have had many cycling accidents over the years in Ontario but this was the most professional Theroux experience of all. Not that I want to have another accident but if I do I hope I am near this wonderful ER. Thanks to all involved as well as the paramedics, firefighters and Westmount police

My mom came in yesterday to have an urgent imaging (CT scan or MRI idk), since her GP told her to directly go to the hospital she might be giving signs of strokes. After 8 hours of waiting, no doctor saw her, and the nurse told her she has to wait at least few more hours since only one doctor is there. We finally left bcz my mom, an old lady, couldnt take it she needed rest and can’t stay all night on the chair. The service is really bad, let alone the hygiene is non existent. Some people were there for more than 24hrs. We lost hope in this system, now idk how we do this imaging requirement…

Had an ultrasound appointment on January 25th for some really awful pain; got there on time, and waited in a dark empty waiting room for almost 45 minutes. Luckily a passing by doctor (who wasn't even from the Radiology department) came to assist me and went to find the receptionist. My exam was done well, the nurse who did my exam was kind and professional. However I was not given my results for some reason. I was told I'd get a call in a week tops. Fast forward to today and I am still not sure what is causing my pain. I've been calling at least once a day, wasting my lunch hour listening to the dozen automated voice systems that answer every time I try to call. I was finally able to reach the medical archives on March 4th, which informed me that their operating hours are from 8:30AM to 1:30PM, Monday through Friday- basically useless to anyone working a 9-5. Now I have another appointment coming up tomorrow at a different hospital, and I still have no clue what my results are. Honestly, it's ridiculous how difficult it is to get results on your *own* medical test.

Patrick a nurse on the 15th floor seems very nice but, is not and the leading night time doctor for the next two weeks - lies often for his greater good and most likely scares the woman health care professionals on this floor. They torture young boys on the first floor by hanging them from their wrists as well - that’s not a myth. I have been bleeding and leaking from my stomach for over 12 hours and my day time doctors warned me never to let this happen bad when I let these night time men know, they kind of smiled. I’m scared here and I’m not sure if they are lying to themselves or me half the time.
