We stayed here years back before it was Sunscape. It was a beautiful resort. We went back after it had changed names and the staff had changed for the worse. The price was outrageous and it was a take it or leave it approach. We left and decided to go to the Gran Palladium. We never looked back. Now I see these horrible horrible reviews here. This place and their staff deserve every bad thing said about it. I wouldn't stay there if it was free.

Nice all inclusive hotel with friendly staff. Nice views. But food could be better and rooms could do with an update.

I read SO many reviews before staying on the cove side during Christmas holiday. They are so true. The property and view are nice. The rooms are in desparate need of updating. Rust and chipped tile are abundant. Bathroom towels are sadly hard to come by. Only ten percent of the staff are kind and hospitable. The other 90 percent treat you like you are a bother. My children loved it here. Our Ocean view room was right in front of the water slides. The noise was actually not bad. Hospitality training and room updates could make this place great. Suggestion: Only come here if you have kids.

First time in Jamaica and first time at an all inclusive. I enjoyed my time here. I was more interested in getting off resort and seeing the country so I wasn't too put out by a lack of actual beach or all the amenities more expensive resorts might provide. The room I had definitely felt and looked its age, as do the hallways, elevator and stairwells in the tower where I stayed. The place needs a good upgrade in lots of ways but the staff was very friendly, very helpful and I felt very welcomed. The food was good and I enjoyed the smaller portions at the restaurants. The excursion desks were really helpful. A very family oriented location but lots of couples or friends vacationing together as well. It was quiet after about 11 pm. You get what you pay, true and I was happy with what I got for my money.

Not much to do. Bartenders knew how to make rum punch and that's about it. The 24 hr coffee shop guy was not happy with us when we woke him up at 4am for coffee. The staff was just not happy like we've experienced at other places. We tipped a ton because we were told by friends that helps get better service.... No such luck. Not super impressed with this specific resort.

So much to talk about... First, the photos by design, are meant to mislead. The place is ok, but not nearly as nice as the photos make it appear. Some of the place was run down. There are two hot tubs on the property, but while we were there, none were working. In essence, that was part of the service we paid for, but did not receive. Second, the pools close early... REALLY early. The water slide closes at 5, the pools at 6. Don't know why so early when the loud music with the added base thumping doesn't stop until AT LEAST 2am....almost every night of the week we stayed there. Any concerns we had, we made known to the concierge. She didn't seem to care at all. I arranged a birthday cake for my wife on her birthday.. They were supposed to bring the cake and sing happy birthday. Instead, one guy showed up, dropped off the cake and said he'd be back with plates for us and then never came back. We had to find our own plates. No one sang for her. When I told the concierge, she says that they only do the singing at dinner time. We had our birthday thing at lunch. The next day at breakfast, lunch, AND dinner, we witnessed them singing happy birthday for other people. They lied to us. There's a pirate ship in the lazy river pool, and it's always closed unless you request it open. Really? So we requested it. Three times. No one ever showed up to open it until we complained the following day. People kept coming up offering to sell us weed. Off property, I get that. But their own staff was doing it. We were there with our minor children. The elevators are death traps about to happen. SLOW...Omg. Dining in the buffet was pretty decent. The Italian restaurant left me scratching my head. The portions we received were so small, they could have been appetizers but they weren't. We were still hungry so we had to go to the buffet to get more food. Was a waste of time. Going to any of the bars was an experience in itself. Ordering a drink meant you got your drink in a kid sized plastic cup. If you wanted a tall glass for a pina colada.. You had to request it, and 9 times out of 10, they didn't have them. Same thing for the towels at the pool...They were supposed to be there for you...you paid for the service...nope, no towels available. Next, the "Barefoot Grill" where they require you wear shoes. On the menu, hotdogs, burgers, fries. Open 24/7. Lunchtime, I took my son there and he asked for a hot dog. Nope. No hot dogs available. I suggested they take it if the chalkboard until the have some... They didn't care. The out door games, putt putt golf, game area...run down. Not worth trying. The nicest thing about the whole hotel was the lobby rest rooms. They were really nice. But that was it. We paid a lot for ALL of the services. We didn't get ALL of the services, but we still paid a lot. The ice cream/coffee bar was a nice little place. Fieando and Prencess (two people that worked there) were awesome. They were friendly and attentive. I loved visiting with them. One Love! Fieando! If you're going to Montego Bay... Find somewhere else to stay and get your money's worth. This place is "beach front" but there's not even a real beach to speak of. I wish I could speak better of it, but for how much we paid, we should have gotten much, much better.

Serene and beautiful but since the hard rock cafe has closed down the beach needed a little TLC. Too many jellyfish to enjoy the water, no way my kids could swim (about 20 jellyfish spoted)

Activity for you and the little ones is good. The spa and the staff there is very professional. However the hotel is not well maintained. The furniture in the rooms need to be updated. The staff over all are not too friendly (not everyone). They do not greet you as you walk by and please do not asks some of them a question.... its like your disturbing them. I have not has clean towels for 3 days. They are always out of something when it come to the food bar. No cups, no ice, no chicken.... It has the potential to be great with just a little paint and cleaning. Huge property but I will not be back.

I've stayed at this resort for three years in a row. It is picturesque, clean, and small. After this visit, I am certain I will to elsewhere next year. We had no internet connection in our room for 3 days and was given conflicting responses from the staff as to why. Miraculously, as soon as I told the front desk how unhappy I was, it was working within a few hours. I asked for an upgrade to a beachfront room and was charged for butler service (that was never offered in year's past). My "butler" was very friendly, but she made dinner reservations one time and never came through with any other request I had. Not sure why I was charged $138.00 for this. The spa staff left me in the steam shower for 30 minutes after telling me they would come get me in 10 minutes. When I finally emerged, sweating from the steam, not one staff member provided me with a towel while I stood there in front of the other guests waiting for their treatments. I also cannot figure out why the staff on the Cove side is so much friendlier than the staff on the Splash side. Being rude to me is not the way to get me to come back to your resort. The swim-up bar music is usually more Caribbean-themed and less hip-hop. I missed that this year.

Our cruise excursion was changed at the last minute and we were diverted to Sunscape Resort. The food was good and the pool was okay but the beach area was muddy and unkept. The facility has not been kept up or maintained well. Toilets were overflowing. People were friendly but this was not what we signed up for so we were overall disappointed.

I went to this hotel with my children and my daughter fell and hit her head and was admitted at the Cornwall regional and suffer a concussion, slurred speech and disorientation and the manager at that time tried to convince me to accept a one night night and two days once I agreed to accept that I will take fully responsibility for the incident. Which I didn’t. It have been approximately 4 years now since and my daughter suffer daily from side effects of that incident.... constant headache daily and am not bluffing, she does.

I love this place and have been back 12 times( every year) except last year amid the Corona virus. I was so disappointed but even more disappointed when a friend who did go said Kenija Kelly- the head of entertainment was no longer there. He drew many people back there with his quick wit and caring attitude. I hope to come back next year so please it would be wonderful to see him back at his job. That’s another reason I come. I love seeing all the familiar faces that make me feel like family.

The old hard rock beach and restaurant waiting for new owners is a quiet spot for beach chill

So, so disappointed. This used to be such a nice resort. I came each year. Then new owners took over, and it decreased drastically and rapidly. I started going to different resorts, but came back to see if things had gotten better. It was a virtual ghost town, with closed restaurants and pools. Broke my heart AND upset me too, because if the money I had spent for such a wasted trip. I now hear that the original owners have taken back ownership, so I may return again during 2021. They even changed the name back to the original Sunset Beach / Oasis, I hear. Let's hope things change back to how it was during its glory days. If so, I will start coming back regularly again, because there was always a family feel to Sunset Beach, and we even had annual meet-ups as regulars. VIP groups. I don't need "luxury" or "fancy". All I desire is a nice, clean, safe, secure fun....with good food and lots of callaloo (another thing that was seriously lacking during the Sunscape era...good callaloo.)

The staff was mostly rude with the exception of a few people. The rooms were outdated. They were fully booked and seemed overwhelmed. The food was sub par at best. The restaurants took too long to bring the food. The adult pool as well as the children's pool close at 6pm. The lazy river had roughly 7 or 8 tubes. I had a family of 4 in my room and they were only stocking our room with 2 towels and 2 wash clothes. I would not ever recommend this place to anyone

I was in Jamaica on business so I didn't get to enjoy all of the amenities of the resort, but it was very nice there. My room was well cleaned. Complimentary mini fridge was restocked daily. The food was nice and there was nightly entertainment. I would love to go again with my family for vacation. It's a very nice, family friendly place.

Jamal is the best waiter/server at the whole resort... he served us 4 times during our stay and he went above and beyond to get us decaf tea. Truly one of a kind!!

BE CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING! We had reservations through booking com, Sunscape took the money from my credit card for the entire stay, we then flew in from Canada, checked in and we were told they were over booked and could not honor our stay so we ended up having to stay at a cheap hotel that had better service ironically... The kicker is, we are still trying to get our REFUND! If there is a manager reading this, we need help with this matter, please reply

STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT!!!! This is not the same Sunscape it was 10 years ago when I stayed here. It has since changed owners and they are not keeping this resort up. The staff was friendly but the resort is nasty. I was told they will be closing down in a few months which is a good thing. The food was not good, the rooms were very dirty. There was blood on the sheets in our room which leads me to believe they have bed bugs. There was mold in the rooms which we spotted on the lamps shades, there was mold on tiles in the bathroom, and mildew smell in the rooms. Some of the pools were closed and they always ran out of towels. The bathroom showers were clogged and not draining, our toilet was constantly running. Maintenance never came to fix plumbing issues. Needless to say we checked out immediately and went to a better resort to enjoy our vacation. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
