👍👍 Loved it. Hated looking for them, they're hidden in an alley so no GPS can properly find them, but the end result is super. Very friendly staff, beyond helpful. Coffee is superb, very casual atmosphere, dark chocolate is one step beyond delicious, and you end up leaving the place simply happy. Prevail is a nice coffee shop that is definitely in the higher-end of expensive and gives the hipster vibes for all those slightly hoity-toity coffee lovers out there! (They make great tasting coffee, don't get me wrong) The biggest thing here was how long it took to get a drink, even after the long wait to order (with only one couple in front of us!). I hope the timing can be addressed, as the drink complexity doesn't really demand more than 1 or 1.5 minutes to make. Was also disappointed by not even being asked if I wanted my drink made hot or cold, which they assumed incorrectly I wanted a cold drink (I like a hot drink even if it's hot outside!) There was mainly ice in the drink, which was disappointing as well, considering the $5+ pricetag, and another reason I prefer hot beverages since you get more of what you pay for!!

I really like how neat and clean this cafe is. I ordered some cold brew and was very impressed with how friendly the staff was as well as how good the coffee is.

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me after I left the below review, and he offered to replace the coffee grounds that I found I didn't care for. His recommendation for replacement beans was thoughtful and well-researched. He was very friendly and I learned some things about different roasts that I didn't know, which I appreciated very much. The coffee he recommended was really good; and I will be recommending Prevail Union to my colleagues who need to come to Montgomery for work. Thank you so much! ------------------------ This place is a bit harder to find, as others have mentioned, but not impossible. Staff was very friendly. I came because they roast their own coffee and since I'm away from home I wanted something better than the stuff that the hotel leaves in the room. I purchased a bag to brew in the morning and got a cold brew along with it. Extra points for non-dairy milk! They were kind enough to grind it coarsely for me there in the shop. The reason for the two stars was that the blend I purchased, Farmer's Daughter, was so blonde that it was nearly raw. I was so pleased they had a 'roasted on' date that I didn't check to see what kind of a roast they'd done on it. I'm not certain the beans even made it to first crack, and there is a significant amount of paper in the grind as well, enough to taste it in the resulting pour-over. My little roaster at home doesn't put that much paper into the beans; I'm not sure what kind of filter they're using but it's not getting the job done. The resulting coffee is extremely nutty and not pleasant. I'm going to try to find another local roaster, and I can't recommend buying their beans based off this one experience.

Prevail Montgomery is INCREDIBLE! It’s a must for me to stop here every time I’m in or passing through Montgomery. The baristas are really kind, knowledgeable, and helpful with choosing what drink/coffee beans to get. The coffee is spot on every time I go here - iced americanos are my favorite. I haven’t had a bag of beans I didn’t love from Prevail, either. Love visiting here (my dog does, too) and I can’t recommend it enough!!

Great coffee spot that any city would be lucky to have. Fun atmosphere and large selection of unique and seasonal drinks at a fair price. Must visit in Montgomery for coffee lovers.

Hands down the best Cappuccino in the area!! I special ordered mine with honey and it was the perfect sweetness. There are a lot of pastries, snack, and food options. I was there during lunch and a lunch cart from the local gourmet pizza shop was offered. The atmosphere was perfect and there are plenty of plug-in outlets available as well as a leisure area with a couch and several arm chairs. I love the outdoor veranda area and on a warmer day, I hope to spend some time there. I had to leave early so I didn’t get to enjoy the live music that was scheduled for that night. I will definitely be visiting this coffee shop on those weekends that I have a lot of writing and content to hammer out.

This is an excellent coffee shop to stop by while in Montgomery. The atmosphere is great, plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy your coffee or work. Their latte is excellent and the barista truly knows what he is doing. Many options for pastries, and merchandise. It was good to find a quality cup of coffee downtown.

I can't say enough good things about this craft coffee shop. It's local to Alabama, and it has expanded to Atlanta. It was bookmarked immediately as a place I needed to visit when in MGM. It certainly turned out to be the best coffee shop experience of the entire trip. I must warn you that it gets super busy early in the morning. There are many military personnel that go through this shop. That's always a great sign as they are very well traveled and know their coffee. Our favorite time to visit was around 2pm when it wasn't so busy. The service is great, and the baristas are professional & friendly. I can't comment on any of the pastries because we were strictly there for the coffee. The coffee was amazing! On the first visit, I decided to get their signature Alabama Stinger (iced) with macadamia milk. They have other plant-based milk options such as oat and Myracle mylk. I was given a sample of the macadamia milk, and was hooked on it the entire trip. I was definitely buzzing with the Stinger's shaken blend of Miller Farms Alabama Honey and a double shot of espresso. You can get a quad shot for $1 more. Well, I didn't think it could get better than that until the next day. I decided to try their other signature drink called the HVR. I never thought I would like raspberry in coffee. This was another amazing flavor. They make their own syrups. What more can I say? My brother loved his hot latte. So much so, that he we made this our daily afternoon stop to energize and talk about our day. Listen!!! I'm a true coffee lover. I seek out local coffee shops any time I'm traveling. I walked past Starbucks on Coosa Street and passed Market Plaza every morning from my hotel just to get to this place. It was initially difficult to find as a tourist, but I figured out the quickest way was to go through the old Kress Building (from Monroe St.). It's a lovely indoor walk with some public art and work spaces. There's an entrance to the coffee shop from inside that building. There's also an entrance from Dexter Ave. The coffee shop is warm, comfortable, and inviting. It's very tastefully decorated with lots of wood. It sits there overlooking a beautiful public art mural of Dr. Valda Harris Montgomery at Lower Dexter Park. It's the perfect spot to chill at a table in the park. Don't miss this hidden gem if you're ever in Downtown Montgomery.

Prevail Union|MGM is a great little coffee shop in downtown Montgomery. Very close to the Rosa Parks Bus Stop and the Hank Williams Museum. The staff are friendly and helpful and the baked goods are really yummy. They have coffee, beer and wine and a nice seating area with really pretty surroundings. Best of all they open really early and provide a nice spot to sit.

Stopped here while in a road trip! My husband worked in coffee for years and we wanted to make sure we got coffee at a specialty shop. I ordered an oat milk latte with no sweetener (what I always get) and it was…not great, had a very peculiar taste. I asked the barista about it thinking they had maybe used an unusual espresso and he informed me that for their iced lattes they use COLD BREW CONCENTRATE not an actual shot of espresso. He was kind and offered to remake my latte WITH a fresh shot of espresso. All in all the environment was wonderful and clean etc, just wanted to put it out there if you want a true shot of espresso in a latte - you may have to specifically ask.

Coffee was fabulous! I didn't eat any food but the sugar cookie was really tasty. I have a Breve latte with cinnamon & my assistant had a Caramel Cold Brew. Definitely going back & this time gonna buy some beans!

Atmosphere is very nice. Chairs are comfortable. The baristas are all very friendly. I noticed recently the taste of the iced latte I usually get had changed. My coffee was more acidic and sour than before. I read a review about cold brew concentrate being used and asked the barista about it. They were very kind and offered to remake my drink. This is probably the only coffee shop of its kind in Montgomery.

I really like the blend of their coffee. Not too sweet plus they give me a free muffin. The interior of the shop is conducive and very at home. I Definitely recommend to all travelers to visit this cafe.

I love the location and the drink I ordered. I felt like the baked goods could have been covered and labeled. I couldn't determine what they were and they weren't on the menu either. I ordered a chai tea latte with oat milk.
