Great bouldering gym with a decent training area. Just be prepared to wait for climbs during rush hours. Early birds and night owls sessions are best for those looking to do drills on the wall. They could use some extra benches, especially close to the workout area. Have the munchies during a session? They also carry some vegan food, cold and warm drinks. Nice selection of shoes or chalk bag at their boutique.

My first time trying climbing and it was a great experience. It’s definitely a great workout. It was fairly easy to get into as a beginner but has enough difficulties that I can see it being a good practice for intermediates as well.

Ive been climbing for about 2 years and I loved the routes here. Everything is clean and they offer free soft chalk. Found the climbs to be a little more dynamic but they flowed really smoothly. I would go here as my main/regular gym if I lived here. The gym is big and has a workout area complete with weights and pullup bars at the back. About $20 for day pass plus $5 for rentals. Friendly but more intermediate type of vibes

It's huge, really good climbs and also has a really good space for working out. As a visitor was pleasantly surprised by their weekly pass, only 35CAD which is a steal. Also has a nice spot for food and drinks. Will be coming back whenever I visit MTL again.

Best climbing gym of Montreal ! 💪 It'd be awesome if there were three resets weekly instead of two 👀

An ideal place to bring the kids or come with friends. Bloc Shop offers diverse wall structures for multiple difficulties. You get a full body workout. There is even a gym section to workout and stretch your muscles. The place promote health with their vegan food options and smoothies. A live DJ plays music to place the beat. People really get into the culture of bouldering and help one another. Also, a great place to meet people. There is even an En Masse collaboration wall illustration.

Great atmosphere. Routes are changed up weekly. Locker room and showers. Racks, Olympique bars and bumper plates. You can develop your skills here at a reasonable cost. Highly recommend.

really affordable gym, weekly unlimited pass is like $30 which is bonkers (esp coming from NYC bouldering). the gym is big but doesn't actually have that many problems due to how spaced each problem is (no overlap between problems), which I think is a small negative since they could be leveraging the big space better. I think the setting is generally interesting but seems to be more weighted towards v6+. I do think some of the setting can be a bit gimmicky/parkour-y and less reliant on strength & technique, but that's not a negative!

Superbly friendly staff, decent size for a climbing gym. The only small ick I have is that the route setting are often focused on pretty straight forward strength problems with less technique involved than other gyms. However, they have been setting more technique focused problems in the last few months.

I love this location especially during summer evenings when all gates are open for letting the natural air flow inside. Super awesome music, vibe, impressive amount of plants (!!). Warming up and stretching area with variety of weights are smartly separated from the walls (in the other location of BlocShop cardio machines are on everyone's way due to more limited space). Spacious, lots of tricky problems for all levels above V1. Kids' grades are located safely on the edges so there's minimum risk to fall on a kid. Average age is 27+- with occasional legends in their 40s and 50s and just a couple kids during the busiest time. Even during the rush hours (~5-8) it feels more like a friendly party rather than a crowded gym. Great management and all! Keep it up!

I can say this is one of my favorite climbing gym around. The problems are very nice and flowy. Staffs there are always nice...any Bloc Shop honestly. I like that here the workout area has a mezzanine. I like that there's an actual space for that, compared to Mile Ex. I really enjoy the Stokt Board as it has much more variety of holds than a Kilter. It's just an overall good gym to be training and having fun.

Very welcoming staff. The walls are updated regularly so you get challenged continuously while listening to great playlists. The restaurant area is nice with a good variety of deliciousness.

Best rock climbing gym for bouldering in the area! Great staff, clean facility, walls, and equipment are well maintained! The members are friendly and nice. I recommend this gym to anyone looking to climb. Thank you, Chanel, for being very welcoming and giving a fantastic tour!

This is an AMAZING bouldering gym. I love it. They have friendly and helpful staff, the gym area has everything you need, the lounge area is great with charging stations. The boutique has so much, so far I've bought shoes, a book and a top. I also had two training sessions with Rafael and he was a very good coach, I highly recommend him. The ambiance is so cool! It's my happy place.

One of the bigger bouldering gyms in Montreal. The crowd is a bit more on the mainstream side for climbing, but there is a lot of variety in problem setting. They have decent setters and a good service, and the prices are fair. Good value overall!

Best place in montreal to do bouldering, some great holds and seems to be the only gym with good overhangs and cave. It also has an amazing training/fitness area, which I find most other gyms lack or only have a super small set up. Only thing missing is a kilter or moon board but there’s a normal spray wall to train.

Awesome spot! Good selection of boulders for a beginner. Kind and fun staff. Surprisingly cool beer selection too.

Looking to climb? Bloc shop is the place to go! Hochelaga offers a wide range of bloc routes. Also, you have access to a locker and a gym. There's a restaurant where you can grab food and drinks (pretty decent to be honest). You can park yourself in the street for free beside the building.

Climbing in Montreal is a sacred thing. I don’t know who decided that this city would sport the best climbing gyms in North America, but I thank the lord they did. In terms of bouldering, having been a patron of as many gyms as possible, in as many countries as possible, none are on par with the Bloc shop. Sure it can get crowded at peak hours, but the space is about as nice as you could possible get for bouldering. The routes are constantly changing and interesting for everyone from the best climber to your first timer mom and dad. The staff are Montrealers, so a good mix of hip, nice, smart and arrogant. The prices are competitive, the location is fine and to top it all off, the chalk is free. Seriously, if you are looking for a gym in montreal, membership or one time thing, go here.

The venue is big with nice tracks and some up and over stuff which is great. They also have a nice cafe (which lacks tea) but is quick and convenient none the less.

One of the best bouldering gym in Montreal. Problems for all abilities up to V12. Nice ambience, chill staff.

I been a member a little over a year and I love Bloc Shop. Five stars for involved, helpful and seemingly happy staff, generally very clean spaces and very high quality of holds, walls, equipment etc, as well as getting two gyms for the price of one. I do want to echo a few of the comments here that it would be fun to see some more technical oriented setting in the future. Bloc Shop enjoys setting very modern comp style boulders with focus on power and dynamic movement. This is super fun and I love climbing there, but it's fun to experience a variety of styles as well. I would recommend membership at Bloc Shop simply based on the size of the two combined gyms, then all the other great things about it are a bonus

Great place to climb!! Awesome facilities and super friendly staff, also has a warm up area with different exercise machines which is nice

Excellent place for bouldering! Huge place, air to breathe on the wall, problems that will challenge you, excellent food and coffee! Never a loose screw for long, very safe as far as bouldering goes, top of the notch place!!! Only wish they reset a bit more often… Note that being a member there gets you entry into sister location!

😠 Nice and clean gym to work out in, but not worth it for the price considering the scummy management and lack of communication.
