Food was normal pub grub and was ok.The service was friendly enough. The big disappointment was the bed in room number five. It caused me to have a sleepless night.Sleeping on the ground would have been more comfortable.Totally worn out with springs digging in your back.I have seen better mattresses at the local tip. Show some respect to your guests and replace the bed.

Great chips but seriously a thimble of salad ?? Come on, salad is not expensive . My snapper was good although the " grilled snapper was so oily it defeted the purpose of getting grilled. Our third try of the restaurant, maybe our last. Foot note , nice cold beer.👍🏽

I called Maria about a function for 130 people at short notice and she was wonderful to work with. The food was top class and having the whole back bar area was a perfect space on a rainy cold day. Thanks Darren and Maria. You were champs!! Mike Thorn

Ordered Grilled fish n chips. Got given traditional fish chips. Said asked for grilled, they said I would have pay another whole $20 for entire new meal that I originally ordered instead of just the $2 difference between the two. Why should I have to pay for there mistake. Left with empty belly and $18 down for a meal I didn't eat.

Lunch- Yummy Hawaiian Burger and beautifully cooked chips. Partners' Steak Sandwich great too. Will definitely come for more meals next time we're passing through.

I was accommodated at the hotel by the company I was cotracted to. Looks great from the outside. Inside its a kittle dated. I was given a room out the back. First impression. Youve got to be joking. Wood panel walls, mustard coloured tiles in the bathroom, a dinosour for an AC unit. Floor mounted reverse cycle. It was freezing so it had to be on as the bar heater didnt work. Its the noise or freeze. The shower is another story all together. The drain was rusted. The soap holder had been broken so tape was wrapped aroind what was left of the base to support your soap. It was terrible weather so decided to stay for dinner. The Mt Barker steak was beautiful. So far the only good thing. My bed was comfortable and warm. All I need is a hot shower and a good nights sleep. Well see how long that AC stays on for. Will I be back. I dont think so, unless I have been accommodated by someone else.

Just had a special seafood platter here from this friendly country pub. Modestly listed as "prawns oysters fish platter" this big shared meal exceeded expectations including tender squid rings, crispy battered fish (spotted emperor?) Oysters, large tiger prawns and a delicious mini seafood cob loaf. Also chips, sauces and a bit of green salad. 10 outta 10 to the kitchen for this one! Also do a very good eye or scotch fillet steak.

Basic but serviceable. Wasn’t expecting anything flash but what looked like mould on the roof was off putting. Food at hotel was good and service friendly and welcoming.

I just went to the drive through. I had just got some horrible news, the lady who served me was FANTASTIC, so kind and generous with her time and kind words. Thank you with all my heart

Good feed, good beers, and a great desserts cabinet. Only got the coffee order wrong, but otherwise friendly staff.

Classic Mt Barker experience - stop in for a top West Aussie feed, a cold beer or a night as you travel the southwest. Plenty of parking in the street, clean and air-conditioned venue with a sports bar, restaurant and beer garden with plenty of room for friends and family. Lunch from 11am to 2pm Dinner from 5:15pm to 8pm

Best counter lunch we have had in forever. Delicious, well priced and good service too.

Had a lunch here. Good selection of food, our era music, friendly staff, nice sized meal and tasted good.

Being a Mount Barker local. I used to love going to the bottom pub for a few. But tonight, I was admiring the Christmas tree and decorations. Then Maria said "We have cameras." I replied "Okay? Cool?" To which she said "We will know if you stole anything. You're acting suspicious." And apparantly someone with anxiety that doesn't do well with loud crowds is a suspicious thief? We left because, why would I steal in the first place, especially a 50c decoration from K-Mart? I would love an apology from Maria for calling me a thief and saying I'm "acting suspicious" (in front of 15 locals) after she checks her cameras and realises I didn't steal a thing. I'll be waiting for that apology.

Wow guys you put on the best Christmas lunch. 3 course meal, complimentary drink on arrival. Great atmosphere. You deserve 5 stars

Ordered salt & pepper squid and sticky chicken wings. Unfortunately the wings tasted like they were boiled and the squid was not fresh definitely frozen. Not happy at all. Would not recommend to eat at this place.

Nice looking pub. Got a bit busy and they struggled a bit to keep up Steak burger was amazing. Lots of meat, very tender and tasty. Chips over salted, needed a salad.

Loved it. We went here as a family and couple for a night after the Stirling Ridge walk. Devastatingly hard! The pub gave us four rooms, great good, nice fire place, cold beer and hot showers. I have been here before and really enjoy the place!
