Food. I loved the chicken curry options and the tikka masala did not disappoint me at all. I loved it alongside the butter naan and the vegetable rice. It was sweet and filling. Service. One of the best indian food resturants i have been to. Jst been recently again after many years and its great to see its been renovated and modernised (moved from old location). The taste of the must have chilly paneer has been maintained over the years and there is nothing else like it. Menu has a good range of options for both food and drink. Plenty of choice for vegetarians too. Dishes can be customised by mildness if need be. Staff were attentive and service was good. Highly recommend this place. I will certainly be back.

Aah these guys are well known for their mouth watering indian dishes. You cant go wrong with the butter chicken and the palak paneer, kebabs and so on. Service is also very swift. Mango lassi was pretty good too. The new branch in Karen I hear is really good

My husband and I ordered delivery from open house yesterday, Feb.25th. We called the restaurant and were able to request delivery to our home in RUIRU from Nairobi city! It took the driver about 45 mins for delivery and about an 1hr and 15mins before food was ready, they were kind enough to call us when it was prepared. Delivery was obviously pricey due to distance but was less than 1k!! We ordered the special ginger wings which were okay, the other reviews kind of hype up the wings a little bit. The butter chicken we ordered for our 9 year old was absolutely delicious!! He absolutely loved it and he's the pickiest eater!!! My husband got the prawns masala which was also excellent. Lastly I had the chicken tikka masala which also completely blew us away. The prawns and chicken tikka masala were seasoned perfectly, we asked for them to make them spicy and they did not disappoint. The naan bread (1 garlic, 2 butter) were soft and airy, and soaked up the stews wonderfully. We also ordered the tandoori roti, which was okay...it was a bit dry but still good. I must warn others that VAT is not 🚫 included in menu pricing so be aware!!! Overall, I highly recommend Open house and let me tell you, they don't cheat you out of food when you order...we had leftovers for the next day!!

My colleague and I wanted some Indian food in Nairobi and one of his friends recommended Open house, the service was average, the atmosphere was ok for a Tuesday evening, the naan bread was really good and paneer maknee was tasty as was the aloo kashmiri, the turbo naan was an experience, very hot, I was disappointed with the salad it was sliced in large pieces, also the kilfi was not what i expected, it tasted like frozen block of flavored ice. Definitely the best Indian food in Nairobi. Food is of good quality, tastes fresh and is super tasty. Good vegetarian offer, and the service is impeccable. Place has a casual atmosphere but still feels like a nice night out. Really recommend it if you’re looking for something tasty and of good quality in the heart of Nairobi.

I got prawns ginger delivered today, the prawns were soft lacked the taste of the spicyness we normally have, no ginger stripes were counted in one hand - 4 slightly long stripes and few very short ones. I’m disappointed. I have always ordered this dish but today 😢

All subway lovers who travel round the world.... well not this one. First, staff attitude. Staff have severe mood swings especially if you question the quantities, the first I have ever done in my beloved subway. Also, I notice you get better service if your white, a general problem in Kenya. Next, the bread is not fresh and most varieties are unavailable....one wonders why they are on the menu. Now, the ingredients, the variety is extremely limited. Don’t expect the long bar which you find abroad, this is a miserable layout of cheap processed foods. Don’t expect the usual large meatballs in delicious sauce, or diced salmon, you will find a display that hardly captivates you. Next, the size of the baguette and the quantities of the fillings will make you cry. Dare you ask for more. The staff will ignore you or question you palette. The prices are okay if the sandwiches were half the quality of a good sandwich bar.The owner appears to take advantage of a good brand name, failing miserably in delivery. My suggestion, a sandwich from carrefour tastes better without the high expectations.

The ambience is good and the service is great. Mohamed is really a great waiter. Always willing to go the extra mile for his customers. The juices are great, especially the pineapple-passion. Very fresh. I would definitely recommend one orders their juices as part of their meal. The sizzling chicken is quite tasty and a favourite. Can be accompanied with French fries, chapati or a starch of your choosing. There is a balcony seating with a view of Kimathi street.

The places has the best naan I have eaten for awhile. The makhani chicken is great 👌. Disclaimer the prices are exclusive of V.A.T.(that means you will be charged VAT differently). Otherwise perfect location for dinner date!

Portions were small and did not taste great. A bit overrated. The terrace is nice though. If food was better, it would be awesome for brunch. Food wise, you can find plenty better options in Nairobi. Most items we choose were also not available.

About Thyme Restaurant has a nice ambience, especially if you're sitting in outdoor area. The foods were great. I ordered tuna steak with rice and it was legit 10/10. The dessert is worth trying too, especially the triple dessert (lava cake , banoffie and cheesecake) . Downside is we had to wait quite a while for the foods, but it was fine.

The ambience is nice but only if you sit outside. Sitting indide is like being in a market place. The waiters are extremely poorly trained, loud, unfriendly and unprofessional (lean over your table to pick up items - what happened to social distancing!) The food is overpriced and doesn’t offer value for money. They cater to people they know and fit a certain profile. A waste of money and time.

The ambience is quite inviting, green spaces and candles lit my dinner. However, the staff was abysmal, I was not served for about 33 minutes and during the entire evening I was served by four different individuals. One of the waitresses kept showing us attitude as if we had wronged her somehow, despite our thank you(s) and please(s). Wine was never topped up, water came at the end of the evening because we could never find a waiter or waitress. It was truly a pathetic experience. The lemon chicken was dry and honestly so was the red snapper. I think perhaps there is a preferred clientele and therefore the less than optimal service ... Also, update your menu and wine list a few things were missing on there.

What if it's going to be an old adage, "Good, fast, cheap, pick two." In this high-end restaurant, maybe opposite from the plain restaurant name, which is worth tasting with the way high-quality which I have ever seen. The pricing is a bit high, but worth paying for the tasting in depth. Let's say in the case of the adage, " Excellent, fast, a bit high" Yet, given the elegant interior, it's not too high. Yes they totally dig the satisfaction of their guest. The servants are high maintenance as well, disciplined .

For lovers of north Indian food its likely one of the best restaurants right now in Nairobi. I had the garlic naan, chicken wings with ginger (spicy), so good - and potatoes in thick tomato curry sauce - very pleasant. Price is at 1250 for a main dish - A very good price vs food quality value for Nairobi.

I can't count the number of times I've been here. The balcony seats give you a view of Nairobi uptown and you can get almost any food here. Ask for goat meat here and you'll keep going back...Did I mention they have the cleanest washrooms? Definitely worth your money

Did not live up to the hype at all. Really mediocre Indian food served luke warm. Veg dishes were much better than the non veg ones. The manager/owner is rude and does not care about his customers, just profit and table turnover. Haandi's has way better food, ambience and service.

This is such a nice restaurant with fabulous atmosphere and attentive but not overbearing waiters and food that is absolutely delicious. We called them for delivery the first night on the second night we went there ourselves and it was better than we imagined
