Best believe if you ever leave anything behind while dining at Hero youโ€™ll find it kept safely for you! That gesture of trust and care really made this place to be one of my favs. Also, they have a view to die for, Japanese art/graffiti on walls, awesome waiters, great food and good music

GREAT drinks. No wonder it's ranked among the world's best bars. The atmosphere is awesome. Beautiful looking place. The service is top notch. Sushi...I had the prawns tartare with avocado. Well worth the 1750 shillings. Main course was the braised brisket over rice with vegetables. The brisket was a nice, healthy portion but I found it to be a little dry. The rice and veggies were fine. The best part of the meal was the barbossa cocktail. Coconut oil infused rum, pineapple, another type of white rum. Spectacular. I'll definitely be back to sample more of cocktail menu.

When you're in Nairobi and you want to have good sushi then this is the place to come. Here flavors mix You will find a wide range of delicious rolls and hot and cold items. For example the brisket on sushi rice may sound strange but it is melt in your mouth good. The crispy pork sushi roll also is a sight to behold and will leave you wanting more. The drink menu is very nice and if you're in the mood for something pick something new and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Having tried all the drinks at our table I can honestly tell you any of them would have worked for me. The only downside is I was full and couldn't eat any more. The sushi rolls are exceptionally good. If you are a fan of comics and pop culture you will also appreciate this place as adorning the walls of vintage photos of Superman Batman Wonder woman and Catwoman. The odd Star wars helmet can be found here and there. The restaurant itself is entered through a gigantic door resembling a freezer. The rooftop views let you see most of the city as well. The prices are very reasonable and the quality and service is second to none. You may want to make a reservation.

The food, the ambiance, the service, the drinks, the views, the coolest menu i have ever seen, everything is 5 stars โญ๏ธ . They have it inform of a comic, they had me waiting for the normal layout of the menu. The cocktails are amazing wish it was possible to try everything. Itโ€™s a perfect spot to hangout with friends, everything is just nice.

The food is overwhelmingly delicious, like two massive cultures coming together in your mouth. The energy of the place is refreshingly contagious, and the mixologists are worth their global awards!

The Captain landed @hero_Nairobi located @the_village_market For starters I had the prawns+avocado rolls and the breaded calamari. For mains the 30 days aged sirloin steak with Aji fries and the Tugulu rolls. And finally for dessert, the Charlie Brown peanut butter ice cream. The starters were great, the calamari was fried perfectly, wasn't too chewy as can be the case and the prawn avocado rolls had an interesting pairing of ingredients including spicy mango, crispy plantain and guacamole. For mains the Tugulu rolls were even better and loaded with tempura prawn, fresh crab, sugar snaps, avocado, spring onions and a soy glaze. The steak however was definitely not worth the price (kshs 2100). 9 pieces of thinly sliced meat which looked to be just over 100 grams at best and having to order sides separately is a Superman grade slap in the face honestly. @hero_nairobi you need to rethink the pricing on this miniscule piece of meat which cannot be classified as a main meal for any Hero let alone The Captain and his 6 feet+ frame. Anyway getting back to the food, the dessert was great! Peanut ice cream with a peanut sponge, raspberry jam and crushed peanuts. It could be due to the pandemic and low traffic at the restaurant, but the service felt quite stretched and understaffed with poor Eric serving all the tables himself. Maybe he's the real Spiderman because he did a great job all alone. His web had all the tables covered. The ambiance was great, with lovely views of the Gotham, ehem, Nairobi skyline. A few small villains on this flight but overall The Captain enjoyed the experience. PS: @hero_nairobi , signal The Captain when you introduce a Hero size steak and I'll definitely make a landing again when I'm flying overhead ๐Ÿง‘โ€โœˆ๏ธ. Instagram: the_captains_review

We had the freshest sushi, mouthwatering fried calamari, knock you down on your seat, yet perfectly mixed cocktails at Hero!!! I would recommend it to all and will be returning. The staff was incredibly friendly and even took the time to give a tutorial on using chopsticks! Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making my brothers first sushi experience so memorable

Hands down the best restaurant Iโ€™ve been to in Kenya. World class. The sushi is imaginative and delicious. The desserts are so creative and each better than the previous (none of us could decide on a favorite). I donโ€™t drink alcohol but heard amazing reviews on the cocktails. The ambience is fun yet classy and owners clearly committed to this as a passion project because the owner gives each table personal attention when heโ€™s around which is amazing. Cannot recommend enough!

Rated #70 in worldโ€™s best bars and probably one of the best in Africa, it did not disappoint. The view is really nice and it has some tables near the edge of the rooftop. The collection of cocktails is very varied and nice, and everything we tried was amazing. The food was also pretty good. However, be prepared to spend some time. It took around 30 minutes for the first cocktail to arrive and more than an hour for our food to come, so you should order the next cocktail by the time the last one arrived :)

We went to Hero with a lot of expectations as it was on the list of the Worlds Best Bars. Located on the top floor of the Trademark Hotel at the Village Market, Hero is a Japanese cuisine inspired restaurant and is very popular for cocktails. They have a small terrace with a lovely view over the forest of Nairobi and the skyline. The menu is fun and graphic. The cocktails, however, were ok. Maybe we went in with very high expectations. They do not provide any nibbles with the drinks. So best to order some tempura or sushi. Service is a bit slow but friendly. Unless you get a table with a view of the city, I don't see the big fuss about Hero. We may give it another chance because the first time was not up to the mark at all.

Gorgeous hidden gem on the 9th floor of The Village Market. Food was very good- I had the veg soup with mushroom and the veg poke bowl with rice. The experience would have been great if I wouldnโ€™t have to wait for 45 min for the bowl. While the waitress apologized couple of times and offered free dessert I was very hungry and had no time to stay longer for dessert .

I went there for Valentine dinner with my partner and that didn't go as expected. More details in my review of the trademark hotel. However, I commend the staff led By Manager James and hostess Emily for making up for some mistakes along the way. They were understanding and innovative. The rest of the team was also very helpful and friendly. The restaurant has an interesting concept and creative items especially the cocktails which were quite strong! The food was tasty and I particularly enjoyed the white Misosoup starter and the Sushi roll. the main course of citrus Octopus is not quite what I'm used to but went down well. The dessert was also delicious The view is great and watching the sunset and the city light up was a treat.

Hero was a pleasant surprise! Well hidden at the top floor of the village market, it is the perfect place for an evening hangout with friends. With beautiful views, nice background music and an unlimited menu for both food and drinks, its the perfect place to unwind. The next time I'm come, I intend to come alone with only a good book for companionship and pick a corner....gamers will appreciate the interior theme and menu designs. The seats are comfy and the staff very friendly which enriched our experience all the more. Easy access including for wheelchairs and I have to mention pocket friendly menu. You don't need a reservation but if you want the best seats in the house, better make that call! I'm happy I discovered this gem and a little sad it took so long! So lovelies, come hangout with your superheroes!!!

Beautiful views of Nairobi, good food and great service by Donald. For a comic book nerd, the decor and menu were everything. We ordered the shavings shots then several different cocktails. To eat we got the pork shoulder, braised beef, pork belly skewers and lamb chops. Unfortunately the pool area was closed for an event but will definitely be back. The hotel validated our parking which was a plus.

This is one of the best cocktail bars in Nairobi. It has a spectacular view of Gigiri in general. The restaurant does serve very good sushi. The them of the place is superheroes. Last I was there, they had gone all Asian in their wall paintings. Some really good samurai painting.

It is so beautiful and such a vibe! I really enjoyed my experience there. Their drinks are DIVINE, and the items on their menu are delectable (I had the sushi). Everything is beautifully plated and on Sundayโ€™s the poolside sitting area is such a vibe. The DJ on deck plays music that just makes you want to dance, and since itโ€™s on the 9th floor, it offers stunning views of the foliage and greenery of Gigiri. Cost wise, itโ€™s affordable - but as is with any restaurant, you spend as much as you order. They have great vegetarian options, and they follow COVID-19 protocols with waitstaff wearing masks, and a hand sanitizer station upon entry. My favorite thing about the restaurant though was the menu and the artwork upon entry. It inspires within you images of strong African superheroes and the menu is designed in the style of a superhero story comic book (with an actual story towards the end) ๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ซ โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I would highly recommend. I loved it, and will definitely be returning. Itโ€™s an oasis in the heart of Nairobi, and a hidden gem in Trademark hotel.

Overall we enjoyed this newish spot with a couple of caveats. The cocktails and sushi were fab, the non-sushi dishes were very good (not amazing) and there are spectacular views. Where this place falls down for me is that it tries way too hard. I am a purist when it comes to food and I donโ€™t need bells and whistles (and cute, I hate cute). Great cuisine is great without any game playing. Most would probably find this aspect of this place ok but for me it just made my eyes roll. Then there are the desserts. Itโ€™s the above issue to the factor of two. I looked at the entire dessert menu and thought โ€œreally?โ€ But we were told they were all โ€œworld-classโ€. Sorry thatโ€™s just more hype. The most bizarre pairings of ingredients, flavours and textures imaginable. Super disappointing way to end an otherwise pretty good time. Also, there are lots of better ways to spend 11k in and around NBO. But I respect the fact that this place brings a new type of joint and vibe to town. Just donโ€™t go in expecting too much (relative to the hype and cost) from the kitchen.

A playful, 'hero-ic' destination that takes its food, cocktails and desserts very seriously! A New York City transplant, I was so excited for the opening on an international, creative approach that's super connected to the local food culture. There's nothing like it in the Nairobi restaurant scene. Try the pork belly, biryani sushi roll, and all of the desserts!! The mock and cocktails are standout. Have been several times, and anticipate many more. It will surely become part of your repertoire.

I have been looking up at the canvas roof of Hero Restaurant on a rooftop at The Village Market and wondering what the view looks like from there. I eventually made it up for lunch on a sunny day and it is beautiful. The restaurant is arranged to make the most of the view and decorated with beautiful street art style murals and comfortable seating. The menu is a cool graphic production, playing literally to the super-hero theme. I found it to be both exciting and overwhelming. There are fabulous sounding items on the menu but it is quite difficult to understand portion sizes and while most items are variations of sushi there seem to be some bigger portions also. I ordered the mushroom maki which came as a portion of three pieces. Perfect for me but not enough on its own as a full meal. The waiter did not volunteer any guidance or advice at any point in the ordering process. It was a process because my first choice of the Japanese vegetable pancake was sadly not available. I finished my meal with a Charlie Brown frozen pb n j desert. The food was presented beautifully and all around me the plates looked great. I can recommend Hero for the view and the food. You might have to go a few times to get to grips with the menu and donโ€™t be put off by the indifferent service.

Dining at Hero is one of the most enjoyable experiences of dining in Nairobi. Seated inside the main restaurant allows you to experience the real buzz of Nairobi - expressed in the amazing decor, a fun and vibrant team, and music. However, dining outside by the pool takes the experience to another level, with an elevated and undisturbed view of Nairobi's skyline on one side of the terrace and the strikingly lush hills of Limuru on the other. The food is absolutely first class in presentation and quality, tantalizing all the senses while filling the below with such comfort, that leaves you wanting more!

Fun space with a great view of the Nairobi skyline. Enjoy delicious cocktails surrounded by a vibrant Nairobi community and an adventurous mixologist. The sushi is good too and if you aren't a fan, there are other menu items to satisfy. The array of superhero comics on the walls add a touch of whimsy to the buzzing ambience.

Their portion are abit small compared to similar restaurants. Also, for an Asian sub-themed restaurant, I would have imagined they have a menu with more Asian cuisine options. Views are great and you can watch Gigiri skyline from their terrace.

Long overdue review. The Hero team are like family. My wife and I are often here for date night and itโ€™s the highlight of our week. Sweeping views across the Nairobi skyline and an amazing F&B offering allows hero to take its place as the best restaurant in Nairobi. Hot favourites: Green Chilli Roll & Veg Tempura Drink of choice: Border Wall but ask to add a double vodka to it.

This place is paradise. The Cocktails: Witchblade and the โ€œI am Grootโ€ are super refreshing and strike a perfect balance between sweetness and alcohol/gin. Also, the ingredients just go perfectly together. The Sushi: those were just a piece of art. We loved every single one of them. The avocado roll, the truffle roll, or the beetroot! Just amazing. The pork belly: we couldnโ€™t have enough of it. Perfect level of done-ness and texture/tenderness, and the Korean-style pork belly sauce was so delicious that I used it with everything else. The Desserts: these were masterpieces. Heavenly! Uncle Obama and the samosa-style one. The maize-based one was out of this world. You should also try the chili-mango. It was quite a culinary experience! Please come to London!

Magnificent view and relaxing ambiance. Had a great server who went out of his way to assuage my discontent with the meal I had. Am particular about my food being flavorful and vegan and unfortunately what I chose wasnโ€™t satisfactory. I did see other people around me enjoying their meals so perhaps my choice limitations narrowed my experience. Although, in my view, it shouldnโ€™t have to be that way.

Hero has been open for several weeks and I've already been several times. Finally Nairobi has a restaurant with world class food and cocktails! The fusion menu and creativity of the drinks was seriously impressive. Obviously all this is irrelevant if the service and decor don't match, but again, top marks here also. First time at Hero over the weekend. Wonderful space. The art on the wall is spectacular and so are the views of the Nairobi Skyline. We had an array of dishes. All were good but the main complaint was the portions served. There's no happy hour (As of the 6th of June) so come prepared. The service was OK; Sometimes our orders took a little longer than expected. Great experience. Friendly and understanding management. Best food ever. It is slightly expensive, no happy hour. All in all, great ambience, it was worth it!

I loved everything about Hero. The food was amazing and Reagan was one of the best servers Iโ€™ve ever met ๐Ÿ˜„ Keep up with the amazing work. We will definitely be back for more. Itโ€™s the after sale for me; the little things. โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ

Funky design, full of characters. The food is fusion style with the elements across many cultures. The view is great! The pic is how they present one of the cool cocktails!

We ordered food from heroes but ate by poolside. The sushi was exquisite. The other dishes were amazing too.

Awesome place to have dinner and drinks with friends. We had some very tasty sushis and the service was absolutely excellent. Loved the mix of asian setting with afrobeat music in the background. They have an open terrace with nice view, make sure to reserve your spot! Price was certainly ok, we paid 8100 Ksh for two persons, incl 4 beers, bottle of water and quite some sushis to share!
